Title: Marauders Era? Please? D:
Description: I'm dyin' here.

Squeechan - September 11, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
Genre: Harry Potter: Marauders Era only please.
Difficulty: Semi-advanced and up.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Witches, wizards... You know the drill.
Preferred Rating: PG-13 and up.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I'm not too picky about it, because I know there are really active sites and sites that are just getting off the ground, but I don't want something that's about to die and lead me right back here... yet not "OMG ACTIVE" either.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Mm, I'm really looking for one set in the marauders' seventh year... but sixth or maybe even after Hogwarts would be acceptable also.

Other Notes: I'm looking for a place with a plot that really catches my eye, not just another dime-a-dozen HP site. Accepting originals would be awesome too.

Hi Squeechan,

Check out the Black Pullet. We are Marauders in that we're set in 1969, but we have no canons (not even Hogwarts). We are all original.

Genre ◊ The Black Pullet is a Harry Potter AU board, but only in the sense that we do not discuss any of the stories or characters that are dealt with in the books. We have our own issues in Magical Ireland and our own troubles with dark wizards; we have simply borrowed the magic and creatures from Harry Potter. We have a general plot guiding our story as well as admin controlled devices (Newspapers, Gossip, Fate, Radio, Townspeople) that steer things in many new directions. There is freedom to explore your own storylines as well as to react to what is happening around you.

Difficulty ◊ We consider ourselves advanced, but without the attitude. We want to see good story writers but we don't get upset about typos or patchy grammar. We have no minimum word requirement but we like to see at least two paragraphs. Most of our posts are in the 3-5 paragraph range.

Type(s) of Creature(s) ◊ Right now our characters are all human and three werewolves (who interact as humans), with the odd goblin, house elf or troll thrown in. We are open to any creature in the HP world. Everyone is a witch or a wizard (except for a couple of muggles).

Preferred Rating ◊ We are ‘R’ rated, but mature threads are not on the main board and only the writers themselves can ever read them. Swearing is allowed, with only the F word changed to "feck" (we are in Ireland, after all).

Preferred Number of Members/Activity ◊ We're not huge but we are active. Since March we've been averaging about 12 posts per day. There is nearly always someone around with whom to post.

Preferred Time where RPG is set in ◊ The Black Pullet is set in 1969 and the town is very backward. There's no television -- people get their news by radio or the newspapers. They eschew cars and broom travel in favor of horses, trains and boats. Clothing styles date to around the Edwardian period, though young folks have been wearing more modern styles despite the bad looks the receive. Many who live here are fisherman or farmers. They like their ways and are suspect of those who want to rock the boat.

Note: Some forums are not visible until you are accepted.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me here. You can click on my signature to take you to the Black Pullet. Hope to see you soon.

Heyo!

Well we are what you're looking for. Marauder's Era, set in 1977 (just). Laidback activity, but steady. A range of writing level, with intermediate being the most common. We encourage originals, but we do have canons, with two of the Marauders taken and the other two open.

What makes us different from other RPs is both our relaxed attitude to activity, post length and plot and our refusal to be canon. So far Lucius Malfoy has a pregnant ex-girlfriend (and a half-blood at that) and Sirius Black thinks he's attracted to blokes - and those two are friends. Voldemort has a daughter at Hogwarts and he's using her to kill students.

It's the site itself that will really tell you what we're about, so come join us and make life what it's not. meant. to. be.

PS. If you join you'd be very politely asked to never again write in such a tiny font. We've a range of ages - from 13 to 29 - and eyesights, so we prefer to be able to read what is written ^_^
