Title: Rpg Hunting...
Description: real life modern day humans blah blah

Colleen - September 2, 2008 04:20 AM (GMT)
Genre: Real Life. High schools, etc. would be okay but I would prefer a town type of setting instead of a school specifically
Difficulty: Idk, intermediate? Advanced? I want a site with quality members and decent grammar.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Human only, preferrably. Vampires etc. might be okay but you'll really have to sell the site to me.
Preferred Rating: Doesn't matter
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Active! I'm sick of boards that die within a few weeks of opening. A site that is not brand new and has a friendly member base already would be nice, but if your new board looks nifty and, again, you sell it to me, I might check it out.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Modern day

Other Notes: No Twilight, No HP, preferrably no Gossip Girl. I really want a variety of games to look at =)

Black Oak Riding Academy Horses and Drama, who could want more?

Summertime and the living is easy...

user posted image

Well, that's not always true. Especially at the prestigious Black Oak Riding Academy, nestled in the Ozark Mountains. It's quiet and secluded. The closest town is 30 miles away and heck, it doesn't even have a McDonalds. So with the academic section of the school closed down and a small town the closest thing to civilization you will get, how much trouble can the students get into?

You'll spread your wings , and you'll take to the sky

The answer to that question is up for you to decide.

Several storms tore through the town of Black Ridge, and did some pretty major damage to both the town and the school. The head mistress, Melanie Darling, had no choice but to close the school down before the end of the semester and make repairs for to the school. Now it's back open, for the summer Riding Semester, and there's other plans being hatched as well, by the well meaning, but somewhat tactless Head Mistress.

One of these mornings you're going to rise up singing

In this game the plots are voted on and decided by you, the rp players.

You decide who you want to be...

A student
A teacher
A member of the town
Or a kid from Brickwood Youth Village, a home for trouble teens who have no place to go.

We have several Cannon Characters for you to choose from including...

Members of the Darling Family (owners of Black Oak Riding Academy) (26 known members of the family)
Towns People (8 known)
Stable Workers (grooms, trainers, stable hands) (11 known)

So hush little baby, don't you cry

Black Oak Riding Academy ride with the best, play with the best, BE the best

Have a look at us too. We started in Rent fandom, post canon, but in the past two years, we've developed into an RL game based in New York which happens to have the canons from that fandom running about. . . You don't need to know a thing about the musical or the movie, since the characters are just characters, nothing more. We're grown up, decent writers, and friendly as can be. Have a look. The banner in my sig's the link.

You're living in America at the end of the millennia. . . and you're not alone.
Alphabet City
We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either.
Other notes:Based on the Broadway musical RENT, set post-canon, though slightly AU to keep Angel alive. We have evolved and changed over the past two years from a fandom RP to a RL RP with some fandom characters.  We are lucky to have a great group of OCs who are keeping the plot moving and changing quickly, and we always welcome new writers and OCs with open arms.
We also have a brand new board!  It's pretty and blue and still has that new board smell!!  Come see.  It's pwetty!!!

antisocialist87 - September 2, 2008 06:55 AM (GMT)
We're not HP, Twilight or Gossip Girl. Granted, we are a newer site, but hopefully that won't deter you. We're starting off with drama already!

QUOTE
-My Dearest Friend -
I hope the weather finds you well, and that your spirits are just as well. I know that this letter is quite overdue, as you have implored me many times that I write to you. My status here is well, and it would be a honor to have you here too.

The year is 1904 - and our dear, dear Queen Victoria, she's been dead for 3 years now. While parts of the world seem to be rife with unrest, our little area of England seems to be doing fine.

Our school has changed hands, and we're positive that you'll love it here. Our owners mysteriously disappeared in 1901 - around the time of the death of our beloved Queen. Still, we continue to work, and the chatter amongst girls of our station still continues on. The biggest chatter is the mystery of what happened to Mr. and Missus Pennington - and why is it that they have disappeared so suddenly. Their whereabouts are a mystery to all of England - though it truly is fun to talk about them and devise rumors. We have gotten a new headmistress, and she's such a sweet woman. We adore her so very much.

The word here is that a building near us is being renovated into a school for gentlemen. Our matron is unnerved by this concept, and has given us a long lecture regarding how we should behave as the fairer sex, but for the life of me, it truly is difficult. It is hard to not hear about the times that the young menfolk come in and tour the school. Sometimes, we'll take secret excursions to the other campus, as it isn't very far from here - it is only within walking distance.

Our classes are difficult, and we are expected to do our best on everything. We are expected to excel in our studies, and become decent housewives and mothers. We learn about the arts and other countries, but never a thing about politics. Politicking is something that is truly too much for many of our female minds, though young women at this school exist that seem to dream about it.

Still, you'll find many here that are interesting, many who aren't, many who will positively get on your last nerve, and so much more. We are but a motley little crew at this school, and with your intelligence, you'll likely get in on a scholarship. Perhaps I can put in a word for you? I dreadfully hope so.

The name? Oh yes - it's the Pennington Academy for Young Ladies. You'll fit in well here, I assure you.

Regards!
-S.

I'll toss this out there to give it a try. We're sci-fi fantasy set 70ish years into the future and have up to 5 races ( all that can be explained as to how they came about and not just put there to exist. ) We're set in a made-up city called Romford, which is one of the few remaining scattered cities in the world after the Awakening of dragons. There are several active factions and many creative plots to set your character in. We're quite active- have a good 10 posts per a day at least and we have helpful members and staff. If you have any questions or want to get a feel for the site, feel free to stop by the cbox. =)

The world is caught in a vicious cycle, and left to
the new generation are the sins of the past.
Out of greed and sloth, a new enemy was born.
The dragons rose from beneath the earth, woken
to find their own murdered for reasons unknown.
Their wrath destroyed the world, leaving humanity
with only one hope for salvation.

Considering themselves the new master race, Psionics
took their proper place as the reluctant protectors of humanity.
Equally powerful, the dragons and Psionics fought for years.
Each coming to a standstill, neither gaining any ground.
Using forgotten labs, experiments were created, designed
to take over the fight.

While the children of humanity were being born as second class citizens,
treated as little more than slaves to the people who saved them,
a small group fought for freedom. With too many failed attempts
and spies in their midst, their only prayer is to find allies among Dragons,
the Suwani people and their clever nésemóono.
Allies that could potentially change everyone's fate.

It is a weak world in a flux of change.

Just remember,

No one is safe - everyone is at risk.

fame hides her head in the clouds. but being normal starts here

"" RULES | CANON LIST | FACE CLAIM | ADVERTISE | AFFILIATE ""

so lets say your a celebrity. your living the life nothing can go wrong you know it. but sometimes fame is to much especially if your a teenager you cant make your own mistakes with out the world reading about it the next day. now normal life is looking better and better every day. life in la is looking shittier and shittier as each morning comes and your face is in the papers. what if there was a school that promised normalcy where you can go to school with other celebrity teens and normal teens. where only the celebrities know about the schools secret and the normal kids are there for the schools arts program.

---

so now you have four years to be normal get a part time job make friends that youll keep for the rest of your life although they dont know your really the guy they crushed on from the movie. or the girl they fell in love with. or for that matter who they wish they were. they have no idea what they wish to become is something your running away from and that you wish to have their life.

---

even though your running from hollywood you still have to do premieres, make movies, put out records and interviews. right? or else hollywood would suspect something if 50 teen idols picked up and left right? so even though you've escaped your still pulled back in from time to time and when you go you remember why your in the crappy town in Indiana in the first place. stardom isnt all its cracked up to be.

---

but how long can you stay hidden with out hollywood figuring out where your coming from or for that matter the normal students to figure out that your the guy they have the hots for. and run you out of the school? when you fall in love can you trust the girl to keep the secret? or will she blab to her best friend and the entire town know? would you take her to a premiere? give her a wig and protect her identity? so many questions that will be answered.

It's a town roleplay, sort of. The roleplay is set in Boston, but it's focused as a band roleplay. We are fairly new, but there's already a group of members who are friendly and pretty much on at least once a day. <3

& beats drop like bombs
all over Boston

Once upon a time in the mid 90's there used to be one record company that ruled the scene in Boston. Jack Everett and Connor Wilson had spent years planning their label. The two friends wanted everything to be perfect. And everything was great. There was a little healthy competition between the bands but nothing terrible. It was great for a few years but then in 2001, the two founders of the company decided to split. Jack Everett stayed with the original company. After all, it was like his baby. However, Connor Wilson decided to create a new company with a fresh look. He started to build it up and create a name for Broken Mirrors Records. Now the two companies are one of the best known rivalries in the modern world. Broken Mirrors being the harder one, and Candy Kisses the less edgy one. The bands hate each other just as much as Connor and Jack do. Every performance is to out do each other. There's only room for one record label in this city, and its up to you and your band to make sure yours is the one who sticks it out.

Don't be killed in action, drop beats like bombs.

You should check out BB :)
Friendly Our staff are welcoming and our members are just the coolest. You should come by the chat and meet us while you browse. ^.^
Active We've been open since January and we're still kicking. Members come and go like every site, but we usually have around 15-30 people active weekly, if not daily.
Variety We don't like the cookie cutter Mary Sues and John Does. Psychos, Drug Addicts, All around A-holes, Old, Young, Males, Females... diversity is king!
Navigate with Ease We try to make the skin and set up easy to navigate and organized. Everything is updated weekly so you won't get confused, and if you still need help staff's always on call
Creative Freedom While our overall board is rated PG-13, there is a mature threads forum where you can be free of censorship and write your heart out
Plot with depth Our vampires aren't your average run of the mill characters. They are the fallen angels, cast out of heaven and sentenced to being reincarnated on earth as vampires. They live life cycles, but when they reach puberty they start to get the memories of their past lives and realize what they are with the help of The Committee, the vampire undergound of NYC.
Book you don't have to read While we are based on the Blue Bloods novels by Melissa de la Cruz, you don't have to have read the books to get it. We give tons of information threads for you to get a good idea of the world our characters live in.
Multi-dimensional While you can get into the vampire aspect of the board, you can also choose to be a human with no contact to the vampires at all. Rpers have done this quite well and had fun too. So this isn't just a site for vampire lovers.

Deep in the heart of NYC, amongst the high-end shops and ritzy museums lies a secret hundreds of years in the making. The rich and powerful are not as they seem. In fact they are from an ancient lineage, that of the Blue Bloods.
They are vampires who's memories have been preserved through their past lives, making them extremely smart, strong, and lethal. They have more power than you can imagine... but something is hunting them. The Croatans, vampires that feed on others of their kind, hide in the shadows and for now it seems Blue Bloods no longer hold rank at the top of the food chain.

At Boarding school...
...no one can hear you SCREAM

Owen Academy’s atmosphere used to be full of excitement, love, and harmony. Nowadays, however, it is infected with unease, tension, and hatred. When the school first opened, everything was fine. The girls took to singing or dancing while the boys took to band or drawing. Acting was unisex; no one really cared who went into that. Things continued in this manor for a while until one year, several new students came and crossed the unwritten gender boundaries of the school. The popular kids were furious and dubbed these new students “outcasts” because they cast themselves out of society freely.

The popular kids ignored these new students and made sure they knew they weren’t welcomed. For a while, the outcasts took this exile and put up with it all for the love of their art. There were some outcasts, however, that didn’t like this exile. They rebelled by attempting to date popular kids, socializing with them, and being all around rebellious. The popular kids were infuriated by this and retaliated.

They planned what was to be the ultimate prank. They would kidnap an outcast, tie them up, and leave them attached to a tree in the school court-yard. That would get the point across to the outcasts to leave the popular kids alone… or would it?

One of the popular kids involved in this prank took it to a whole new level. He started beating on the outcast- as they were tied to the tree- and ended up severely injuring her. She had several broken ribs, one of which punctured her lung, several deep cuts, and internal bleeding, all of which led up to her death overnight. The school’s dean found the body, still tied to the tree, the next morning and immediately expelled the students who pulled the prank and pressed charges against them.

Ten years later, it is almost the spring semester of 2008. Rumors of a ghost haunting the halls of the academic building flew around the institution like wildfire and sparked the interest of several students. they formed a group and called themselves The Silencers. As a group, they planned a ghost hunt of all of the academic buildings determined to find this ghost and put it to rest.

But the night they went on the hunt, a dark chilly night over winter holidays, something went wrong. No one knows what happened that night, only that it happened in the Acting Building. The students went in, ready to hunt this ghost, but never left. the building, as well as every other inch of the campus, was searched from top to bottom. Not a single trace that the students were ever there was found.

Police were notified and the school was forced to close down for the spring semester. Now, it is summer and the school has been allowed to open it's doors again to students with the promise that rules and policies will be stricter and security will be much heavier. Students are no longer allowed to be out alone at night, all buildings are required to have security guards at all times, and all student organizations must be heavily monitored by staff. There are lists and books on the new restrictions for the school.

The students hate it. They rebel at every possible moment. From practical jokes on teachers to simply outright breaking th rules, it seems the entire student body is banding together against one force: the rules. When students with some of the top creative ability in the country join forces, who knows what will happen. But what was that whisper from around the corner? Was it the legendary ghost, Isabella, waiting patiently for her next victim? Only she knows. Think you can handle it?

You should definately check out LJ. We're a very friendly and active group with someone always online. We have a rather unique setting and subplot going on that our members can contribute to. We usually have 2-4 active topics pages a day and we're pretty fast paced. We've been around for more than two years as well. Well hope to see you there and thank you!

A small town with about 8,000 good hard working Southern folk in it. Football Nights are like a religious holiday here. The girls pretty themselves up for a wild night of partying and sex every Tuesday and Thursday. When Monday rolls around, the kids are caught skipping to hang out at Montana’s or City Limits. Sometimes, the braver ones dare to go to McDowell’s Hole.

Twenty years ago, a program was re-introduced into Little Jimmy's perfect world. Honky Tonk Angels. An association where they took young high school students who had found themselves in trouble with the law and the harsher ways of life out of NYC into the country. There the students were placed with foster families for the year as they worked with the kids to straighten out their lives. The program still thrives today with the children of the original lifers and angels. Unfortunately much like the Little Rock, Arkansas disaster some of the folks in Little Jimmy aren't so...

Welcoming. The older families in town aren’t so welcoming towards the newcomers as some nasty words have been flying back and forth. It seems the town’s secrets of racism and prejudice seem to be leaking out at every turn. A team of low-end FBI agents has come to Little Jimmy in hopes of keeping the peace. However, can years of hatred and prejudice slip away like the wind? Or will relationships be tested and lines crossed?

Los Angeles – it holds a different meaning for absolutely everyone. For the Wilson family, it holds a new life. Annie and Dixon Wilson are going to be joining the students at West Beverly High, since their family moved to Los Angeles to take care of their dad’s alcoholic mother. No matter who you are, being a new kid is one of the most awkward things – especially if it’s obvious you aren’t from around here, oh , and the fact your father is the new principal – that’s always fun.

From Kansas to Los Angeles the culture shock is almost painful – especially when you need to find your ‘clique’. The class mates are ‘friendly’ enough- there’s Noami the spoilt, rich girl who has all the boys chasing after her despite her boyfriend Ethan, Annie’s old summer flame which may or may not of died. Then you’ve got the school News paper kid, Navid, who is ready to spill the news about the new additions to West Beverly. Through the halls there are plenty of more kids waiting to make your fresh start one you’ll remember.

So, will you sink or swim? The time is now and if you let these people, they’ll tear you apart.

•we loosely follow the show , but will not disappoint.•

This site is brand new, and perfect for those people that love City and School based role plays. You don't need to watch 90210; the next generation to join, just to play a canon!

Ever walk down a hallway and it just went dead silent. Every set of eyeballs are starring at your face and your body’s motion… Now compare that to a city of where everyone seems to find out your deepest secrets, sometimes they are right and other times they are so not right. Some secrets or rumors get twisted and lied about from the beginning other times it gets twisted in the bittersweet taste of the grape vine. Care to know where you are? Yup, you guessed it. You are in the city of Silentville, a city that is between San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.

Students from the high school have a double dose of this drama. Most of the kids hear gossip that is mostly made up. Sometimes those rumors twist in adults and even teachers. The main worry about every student is who can you trust at school besides your family? Who will be there to swing a punch with you or take you home when you have drank too much at a party?

College students get a step up. They not only have to worry about rumors but also the law. Some people are known for getting people in jail and others think they are sneaky enough to not get through there. The thing with college is, you are either part of the sororities or fraternities or you are not. If you are not watch your back and stay clear but if you are you might as well close your eyes and forget anything you may see.

Silentville, don’t be fooled by the name of the city. It is only silent to those that get talked about or embarrassed. But this city is never Silent….everyone gossips about the other one. So if you have anything that you are trying to hide from someone it’s probably not going to stay buried for long. The question is can you survive the gossip of Silentville, the city where secrets don’t always stay silent.

Okay, it's BRAND NEW. As in I made it yesterday, but I'm really psyched about it, so it would be great if you could still check it out.

The Site
The Flipside is a brand new site. With it's first term starting on September 14th, you'll be able to start the fun with the rest of us. Staff positions are open and we're welcoming plenty of new ideas.

The Plot
Baybird High’s students are a bit competitive to say the least.

When the High School announces that they’re going to give the club that raises the most money in the fall fundraiser 2,000 dollars the whole school turns into a warzone. The Cheerleaders won’t talk to the Football Team and the Stage Crew and Drama Club are trying to sabatage eachother!

The Facts
Based in a public school in Vermont “The Flipside” is an original character RP. Make your character and post away. Every 20 IC posts counts as $10 raised for you club. You can RP in classes, the halls and even on the buses to and from school.

"Welcome to St Mary's/St Peter's Catholic school. Situated on the outskirts of Little Rock, Arkansas we are devoted to serving God. This is the typical letter to these two schools. St Mary's has been designated as the girls' school, and St Peter's for the boys. The schools have seperate classes and campuses, but mix when it's time for clubs and dances. The nuns and ministers all claim their children are saints, but everyone knows what goes down in Catholic schools. Either the sexy uniform of plaid skirts with white shirts and red ties that the girls wear get the boys of St Peter's "excited" or the girls are enticed by the boys habits of smoking behind the bushes. The churches and schools really have no idea that their students don't live by the precious Bible. But by their own motto...
