I've been thinking about making a Final Fantasy based RP that would center around a world that is similar, but not based on, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XII. It would be a completely separate storyline with completely different characters; but the look and feel would be Final Fantasy like.

This is the storyline that I'm considering: The Empire has taken over and created a communist system throughout the world. Since the technology and machinery all centers around an energy source, they have taken control of it and only distributed it to those that can pay or those they particularly like better than others.

There are two main groups involved. The Imperialists and the Revolutionaries. The Imperialists are pro the empire while the Revolutionaries are against it and fighting for their freedoms. Members will have an opportunity to play on either side.

That's pretty much what I have right now. So tell, me... would you join and why? Or am I just wasting my breath? Is there something that hinders this idea from working? What would make it better?

Sounds like Star Wars to me.

I'm sure you could make it work, however. I've only played FFX but I enjoy the feel of the game, so I'm sure an RP like that would be enjoyable.

I'm iffy about it.

On paper, it sounds much like FF7, which is fine, I guess. But, in implementation, I could see that people would much rather play a FF7 forum than an original FF forum that basically has the same concept as FF7.

But, yes, this is the time to make a FF forum, because of the 3 games coming out.

I'll trump both of those above me and say it sounds like just about every sci-fi thing ever made. Because that's what almost all plots simplify down to.

I agree that it is a good time for FF, though.

This is, of course, a very bone dry depiction of what the story would be about. I would also add in details that would make it more interesting. I actually stripped down all the meat of the idea so that it wouldn't confuse everyone while I asked for opinions. Apparently, I stripped it down a little too much.

Just so many ideas going around right now. My co-admin and I are just trying to figure out all the details.
