Title: A Few Things
Description: HP, Tomb Raider, FF7

TurkFox - August 26, 2008 12:03 PM (GMT)
Quick Note: Can I have some freedom with my characters' sexualities? Most of my characters are pansexual anyway (like the person, not the gender) so it probably wouldn't even come up as an issue. xD I just don't like to limit myself before I know where the roleplay is going to go.

-------------------------

Genre: Tomb Raider
Difficulty: intermediate+ (but I won't write 8 paragraphs)
Type(s) of Creature(s): Tomb Raider creatures
Preferred Rating: PG-13+
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Any
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Any
Other Notes: I really want to play Alister (from Legend). Please? xD

-------------------------

Genre: Harry Potter
Difficulty: intermediate+ (but I won't write 8 paragraphs)
Type(s) of Creature(s): HP-world creatures
Preferred Rating: PG-13+
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Any amount of members,
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Potter era (fifth/sixth year is best!)
Other Notes: I'd love to play as Draco Malfoy, Marcus Flint or Severus Snape (who never loved Lily). I'd also consider joining as an original as long as I can choose their house.

-------------------------

Genre: Final Fantasy 7
Difficulty: intermediate+ (but I won't write 8 paragraphs)
Type(s) of Creature(s): FF7-world creatures
Preferred Rating: PG-13+
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Any
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: straight after Meteor, preferably, but I'm willing to compromise
Other Notes: I'd love to play Reno or Sephiroth. I don't like the stories of the prequels/sequels so any site that doesn't use them in the plot would be awesome! If you do use them, I'll need to discuss it with you to check my ideas for the characters would still work.

Hey there!

You said you needed a final fantasy VII RP, and I have one for you. This is an effort that I help to administrate, so I can totally attest to it's success.

We have a group of members that have an average post count in the thousands, We've been around for nearly two years without a single sabbatical, we border more on the freeform than the solid aspect of FFVII, with a member driven storyline where member input is ENCOURAGED, if not desired. Our characters are a mix of people from the FFVII world, as well as a few things from other FF titles.

While Canon Characters are only played by staff - rest assured that you can work your way up through the ranks relatively quickly - and if you request the option to play Reno, (as Seph is one of those characters that we don't really allow too many people to play), someone may give you the option to.

Our members range in post competency anywhere from beginner to intermediate.

QUOTE

two years since the meteorfall crisis and the fall of midgar

Things seem to have changed, the world, the feelings, the morale, though ultimately, everything remains the same.

Sephiroth was supposed to have been finished after Meteorfall, but this was not the case, as he revived but two years later, only to be killed again. After the Geostigma pandemic, life is seeming to return to normal for the people of Gaia. Our heroes are living their lives, simply, and with little idea of any chaos that may come their way. Shin-Ra Electric Company is starting over - recuperating from the collapse that should have destroyed their company. With the revival of Shin-Ra Inc., they are learning to work with The Planet, rather than killing it.

Yet, there truly is never a dull moment on Gaia. Peace is but a fleeting fantasy that the people of Gaia continue to hold dear to their hearts. Tranquility comes and goes with the wind. Unfortunately, this planet is wracked with conflict after conflict. From a resurgence in calamities, to cybernetic beings with a grudge, to vampiric entities with a thirst for world domination, to the rises and revolutions of warring kingdoms. Gaia continues to have it’s share of problems.

It is not merely up to the heroes of Gaia - Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, Vincent and Cid to solve these problems - they can’t do it all on their own.

The people of Gaia are urged and implored to help.

This world needs you to be a soldier in Gaia’s army in this fight of The Calamity Wars.

Human? Nephilim? Angel? Demon? Viera? Mithra? Cetrans? Lycanthropes? Will you help? Will you be on her side? Or will you assist the forces of darkness and destruction that intend to shake this planet to its very core. It is up to you to decide.

The Calamity Wars: A Final Fantasy VII based RP

Hmm, I'm not sure - would I have to join as an original and play until I was staff to get to be Reno? I'm not sure if I'd enjoy myself if I was playing a character I wasn't really into just to get to that point. Have I understood correctly?

Anyone got a site where I can play Sephiroth? I did start my own FF7 board once but it still has no members except me, so I can't even play him there. I can provide the profile I've already got for him if anyone needs to see how I play him.

showbreadluvr - August 27, 2008 03:48 PM (GMT)
I've got a Harry Potter one.
-nods-
Snape is open. We're just starting, so, if you don't want to join, I understand. Here it is anywhoo.

QUOTE
The current Hogwarts students find themselves venturing into a brand new, well, old, world when the newest History of Magic professor decides it’s time for a field trip. Unsure of where they’re headed, the children of our beloved Trio become completely excited and exhilarated.

They were told only that they were going on a trip and that a signature would be required from their parents. Once Professor Jones had all required signatures, she told the students to join her in the Great Hall at eight o’clock on Tuesday morning. When they all arrived and were accounted for, Professor McGonagal joined them and pulled Professor Jones aside. She told her there were four simple rules and that they would only be told what those were once they landed in the Great Hall and Professor Dumbledore was with her. With a nod, the Headmistress sent the students on their way. After the muttering of a simple spell and a large green cloud, the students found themselves in the year 1977.

They were alone long enough to gather their bearings when Professor Dumbledore joined them. With his big, booming, commanding voice, Dumbledore called them all to attention and welcomed them to the year of their parent’s parents. A murmur broke out among them. They had just taken a field trip to their grandparent’s school years. Once again, Dumbledore called for attention and they all quickly focused. He introduced himself as the Headmaster of Hogwarts and turned to Professor Jones. ”The floor is your’s ma’am.” With a nod, he stepped aside, letting her take center stage. She smiled at them all and began to explain what McGonagal had explained. ”Students,” she started, ”As Professor Dumbledore has just told you, we are currently in the time of your grandparents. Now, there are a few rules I must give you, considering we are tampering with the past and without these events, many of you would not be here. So, here we go. There are four very simple rules you must follow while here.” She shifted her body weight and continued. ”Number one. You must not mention that you are the grandchildren of these people. It is very important. If they find out, it could quite simply destroy who you are in the future, therefore destroying who you are now.” Here she paused, letting them comprehend what she was telling them. Number two,  you must not ruin the relationships between the people who are here and together, even if it is, for instance, a relationship between Miss Molly Prewett and Mister Remus Lupin. Number three,” she said, pressing on, despite the murmur around her, ”Do not warn them of anything that will happen that you have learned of in my classroom. The warning will trigger a response that will change the future as we know it. And finally, Do not tell anyone you are from the future or mention anything about it.” She finished her speech and turned to Professor Dumbledore again. After asking if there was anything he would like to add, he nodded. ”Yes, thank you. Students, all of the Professors have been told that you are from the future. They will not mark your house down for points.” ”Also, students,” Professor Jones finished, ”Remember. You are here learn about this time period. At the end of the day, meet back here and we will go home again.” With a nod from Dumbledore, the students were let loose on the castle.

At the end of the day, the students met back in the castle, with new friends in the form of their grandparents. They had done what they came to do. Professor Jones finished her roll call and they prepared for the trip back to the year 2022. Dumbledore came in and said good bye and cast the spell to send them back. When the large purple cloud of smoke disappeared, they were still standing in the Great Hall of 1977. With no explanation for it, Dumbledore told them that until they could fix this problem, the students would be staying in their houses in this time. Professor Jones would be staying in Hogsmead above Madame Rosmerta’s Pub. The students would be given schedules and would attend classes in this day and time.

With no way to get back to the future yet, the students must cope and learn to deal with the people of the future. With no real comprehension of the feud between Slytherin and Gryffindor, the students must be taught the past through a very new and unconventional method. They must live in the past.  Join them as they take the most adventurous and exciting trip of their life and learn about the lives of their grandparents. Watch and wait as they discover the real difference between true peace and complete war.

Come join us as things get all Bassackwards.

Hmmmm...I am going to try you with this because we hit most requirements, bar the whole 5th/sixth year thing.

We're Potter era for definite, only Potter isn't in school. He's 30, and only awoke last year from a coma he had been in for nearly a decade. Our canons are growing up in the working world (mixed with originals) and They're facing a new breed of bad.

We have Flint available, but Draco is taken and Snape was killed off in our own way. We split after book 5 away from canon and made our own way from there.

Hummm no emphasis on word counts, we are open to all player and character types so long as you are armed with enthusiasm and good ideas. We make no apologies for post length if it provides enough to work with--this includes the short and the long[/i].

So...there's no Hogwarts anymore. The Ministry is in a state of economic recession and a big nasty beast is picking off the wizards from the edges of the herd.

We also don't care about sexualities. Whatever, d00d.

It may work for you, it may not. Take a look around and let me know if you have any questions.

Are You Ready For This?

"Sir. The woman who returned, Duhig? She's not...normal."
"Normal?"
"Her magic, Sir. It's...gone."
- The Ministry

Squibs were always born. Now they're made. Perfectly healthy wizards are vanishing from the streets, only to return with no magic at all.

"Side effects? What do you mean side effects?" - Megan Broker

"My analysts tell me they are encountering some problems with the tracking chip. Apparently some are causing problems: headaches, migraines, etcetera. One collapsed last week from haemorrhaging...keep your ear to the ground. We may have to intervene." - Charles Decker, Muggle leader of the British National Party

St Mungo's Shock at Sudden Death
- The Daily Prophet

Now these squibs are dying...

"What I can tell you, is her magic levels are off the charts. I don't think even the Ministry doubt the connection, they just want to avoid a national panic by giving all these new squibs a death sentence." - Remus Lupin

...All because Muggles are becoming a problem.

"This pill will stop my hallucinations?"
"Yes. But remember this is not a one-way street, Mr. Chambers. You can show yourself out, can't you? We will contact you when we need you."
- Gideon Chambers; Wizard, meets with Muggles.

Someone is giving Muggles access to the magical world. When the fragile barrier comes apart, when war is waged, which side will you choose?

"Our world is fragile and we have a duty to protect it; a duty to the people who live in it. That's why sometimes we have to do things that seem cruel but we do it for a greater good: The Rabbit Hole, this Task Force, our PM, this is all leading to war against these...Wizards. We're not ready yet but we will be. I consider you an asset to our cause...We provide for one another, don't we? Can I count on you for succour when the time is upon us?" - Charles Decker, Muggle leader of the British National Party

muggles and magic
A Marauder Roleplay
Based on Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school of magic for those between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Thousands of students call this castle their second home, and with the extensive grounds, it is not hard to guess why. Some are returning, some are beholding it’s wonder for the first time, but all are still stunned by its high walls and sky skimming towers. However in all their souls they know one other thing that makes them so eager to reach the castle. It is now the safest place on earth. Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror has struck fear into the hearts of many, ripped families apart and is still spreading at an alarming rate. Almost every night the dreaded Dark Mark can be found hovering over a new dwelling and the violence is getting worse.

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Everyday the newspapers are filled with more disappearances, more murders and more tales of horror and pain. Everyone clings to their loved ones in hopes of keeping them safe, some have even stopped their children returning to Hogwarts for fear they won’t be safe there either. Yet inside those high walls the teaching continues. The Staff are trying to make a special effort to run as normal but with more students receiving news of their parent’s deaths or kidnaps it is an up hill struggle. To everyone it seems every morning another black envelope is dropped into a lap. However there is one group of people not changed by the outside world, and intent on keeping things the same. The Marauders. Everyday it seems another stink bomb or minor explosion erupts in the corridors and the mood began to lighten in response. The halls of Hogwarts were once more filled with laughter and the happy chatter of teenage gossip as tension eased after a few weeks. The letters even seemed to stop for a few days at a time. The students in Hogwarts convinced themselves they were safe and focused more on their studies whilst their loved ones fought for their lives outside, after all it was hard to think of a war when an indoor fireworks display had just erupted in front of your eyes.
user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

But are they truly as safe as they think? It appeared not so when a scream rang through the air one night, cutting off after a few seconds. Staff and students alike sprung from their beds and raced towards the sound, only to be greeted with a sight that make most want to turn away and pretend it was a bad dream. A body in Hogwarts. It was a small girl, a first year they discovered later, a muggleborn that had been struck down with an Advada Kedavra curse. Terror once more spread and everyone was advised to travel in packs, to not be alone, for the Hogwarts body had a murderer in it’s midst. Despite an investigation the crime was never solved and this has made it all the worse. Now everyone of non-pureblood is terrified of being the next victim. No one is safe inside or out of those walls. Everyone is clinging to threads of hope that are disintegrating with everyday and even the light mood of the Marauder's can't completely ease the tension now. Someone will be next, the question is who?

In The Fire
An AU Present Day Harry Potter Roleplay

It was a portkey, the Goblet of Fire was a portkey. Finding themselves in a graveyard, Harry and Cedric gazed around, wondering where they were. A door opened, and Peter Pettigrew stepped out. Raising Voldemort's wand, he fired a spell towards Cedric, but instead hit Harry Potter, killing him instantly. Fearful of what he had just done, Peter ran from the scene......

A new year begins at Hogwarts, and the students are filled with a growing feeling of dread. Lost without Harry Potter, their hero, the students of Hogwarts are left alone, scared, and unsure of what lies ahead of them. As the days pass, Hermione and Ron receive news from the Order, learning about their small progress at catching Peter Pettigrew.

The growing want to help consumes them, and they begin to gather people to help them. The DA rises again, lead by Neville, Hermione, and Ron. These three are the ones that are left to protect Hogwarts, and their the ones that will make sure no one hurts those they love anymore.

This year at Hogwarts won't be like the others. This year, everyone is on their own. This year, the students are In The Fire.

Hi there! I thought I might throw our proverbial hat in the loop as a possible HP site.

Genre: Alter-reality HP
Difficulty: we consider ourselves intermediate to advanced, mostly in the components of rp. We don't micromanage post length or anything - we expect members to be able to respond maturely and creatively to the unexpected twists and turns rp is known for.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Anything found in HP-verse with room for mythology from other places
Rating: We don't censor our member's writing, but if the post content could be considered offensive, we request it be marked as such and, if necessary, hidden from general viewing.
Number of Members/Activity: Currently, we have about six-seven members (with multiple characters) who are active almost daily. We have about another 8-10 members who are active but not always on daily. Most of our members are older and work or are in college. We aren't teeming and are cozy and welcoming. You'd find threads easily enough, though.
Time RPG is set in: We are set in the book's sixth year.

Other Notes:

Unfortunately, Draco is already taken, but he could definitely use a bud and Marcus Flint would work nicely. Also, Severus Snape is available and, given our plot, Lily would have been kicked out of Hogwarts when the government was taken over so I highly doubt Snape would have fallen in love with her. He'd, probably, be rather high and cozy in the current pro-Voldie government. Or, if you like the spy aspect of his character, there's room for him working against Voldie for Grindelwald or the other way around. You'd have lots of room for self-development. While I should stop bothering with this analogy since no one has heard of the movie, our site is somewhat of a HP meets the Philidelphia Experiment II. I kind of keep using it in the hopes that, one day, someone will understand it.

In our world, an agent of Voldemort's was sent back in time and eliminated the Albus Dumbledore's parents. In a world without Dumbledore, Grindelwald's rise to power was uncontested. Later, Voldemort's ascension in England was successful the first time. The wizarding race is no longer a secret and rule in Europe and England. Muggles are enslaved, muggleborns either find hiding and refuge or are exterminated - as are the 'tainted' muggles that produced them. The Death Eaters are highly structured and are the primary law enforcement. There are pockets of resistance groups that are quite the breeding ground for insurgents. With the power struggle between the "two dark lords" Grindelwald and Voldemort, there is plenty of room for a Grindelwald spy in England.

We are a mature and dark site, though we have little of the teenagy angst that are a frequent component of school based HP sites. Our site is steeped in the canon world of Harry Potter but has its own extensive backstory and lore. We are open to ideas, inspirations. Signature below will link you to the site if you are up to taking a look (and I hope you are) and, if you have any questions, you can feel free to I/M me. My logins for AIM/MSN/YIM are in my profile here.

Thanks for looking us over!

I've joined 'In The Fire' and I've added you on msn, Tulojow Nagde. :D

Anyone got anything else? Preferably from Tomb Raider or FF, or something from my other request thread. :D

EDIT: Into The Fire - why did you let me get to the app stage? You clearly didn't read my ad since you wanted to reject me based on sexuality. So to anyone else - please read my ad before posting!
