Title: We Never Actually Rp!

So i've been rping with this particular online friend for a year now. i love it, it's great! the problem?

she never wants to RP- what i mean by that is that our characters are on their first date and she just wants to skip it and go to the next key point of the plot. it just ticks me off because i hate never actually rping a date or something. i want to have the quirky random stuff happenings, the conversations, inside jokes, the quiet doubts, and the flirting... you know? it sucks because i feel us fast forwarding all the time will never let us delelop them as a couple and thus my character! it's so frustrating... it just starts to feel unrealistic.

Have you tried explaining this to her? It sounds like she's moving things way too quickly, and is overeager to get them to move on. You should roleplay a date or two, and I don't understand why she'd be so impatient. Hmmm... 0.o

Umm, i can see why you think this. Maybe you should tell her clearly that if you carry on, your two characters will never fully develop? Basically it seems all your doing is playing the fun stuff, or the parts she sees fit.

Speak to her about it, and tell her you would like to play through the quirks, the awkward parts purely for character progression. <3

:)

I agree with everyone, you just should tell her that you enjoy the RPing the relationship out. Your friend should understand and there will be a more chances for you two to develop your characters.

And besides even in the RP world there isn’t any need to rush into anything.

She sounds like me. ^_^ I prefer to RP the action and adventure rather than develop the relationship. I, too, suggest you talk to her and let her know that you'd like to RP the relationship itself a little more--without getting rid of the other stuff, of course.
