Title: Creepy-crawly
Description: Things that go bump in the night

Craz - August 17, 2008 07:02 AM (GMT)
Genre: Fantasy/Horror/Supernatural
Difficulty: Anything, really.
Type(s) of Creature(s): I'd like to see the usual contemporary fantasy races-humans, magic-users, vampirers, shapeshifters, but some original ones based in folklore might be fun.
Preferred Rating: At least PG-13 or higher
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I'd prefer a smaller site. Not too many members, preferrably under twenty. I will make exceptions, but you'll have to convince me.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: I'd prefer this to be set in the modern time period. I might do something historical, so if you feel like trying to put that up, I'll take a looksie.

Other Notes:

I'm looking for something other than the usual "secret magic world" or "secret war going on" sort of RPGs. I'd like to see an original backstory in that perspective, perhaps even a world where magic is accepted? I don't want a vampire/hunter/werewolf site, but rather something with an original storyline that's interesting. And nothing with just "vampires and humans". I want more than one supernatural race out there. One of the biggest things I'm looking for is friendly membership. I really dislike sites where people who sign up have to almost practically yell for a thread. Anywho, cheers. :)

P.S. I will look at canon sites(No Stephenie Meyer or Harry Potter. Personal preference), but they have to have interesting original plots, either as continuations of the series or as spingoffs.

While there's some grey area when it comes to your criteria and HTM, I think we manage to fit most of what you're asking for. We are a small game with 13 players. Ordinarily the game is fairly active, but August has been a busy month for most of our players and there has been significant slow-down. With that in mind, we do have werewolves and we will have vampires. But there is also a lot more to be had, as well. Our primary emphasis is on the lycanthropes of the games (wolves, rats, hyenas and leopards, specifically, with the occasional oddball type), but we also have standard non-infection shapeshifters via curses and the like. There are humans, witches, a variety of psychics and animators who are capable of raising zombies (usually for a profit). It is, IMO, a fun world with a lot of potential.

Right now we are mid-way through a storyline which will be introducing vampires as PCs into the game and throwing the "ruling class" into complete disarray. The game is contemporary and to err on the side of caution we throw out a R rating. In this world, there is no secret world to speak of. The weird and the bizarre are legal citizens in the U.S., and so there are nuances to things and ramifications that both players and characters need to consider. It leads to a lot of potential for not just large storylines, but smaller more character-driven ones.

As for friendly, we've got you there. We love our members. With a stick on occasion, but more often than not we're clamoring all over ourselves to get people involved rather than having folks have to beg for RP opportunities. So long as you're willing to give as much as we do, the world will be a happy place. :) I hope you'll check us out, but if we're not for you then I certainly hope you find the game that is.

Description: It's 2008 and vampires and lycanthropes alike are legalized citizens of the United States, recognized as more than monsters and endowed with their own rights. But that doesn't mean everything is okay.

New Orleans is slowly but surely recovering from Hurricane Katrina. A city known for chaos, it is finally getting back on its feet thanks in part to its were community. But that isn't to say it's safe.

Hounding The Moon focuses on a city that's been controlled by shapeshifters for the better part of a century. Things change, though. Discrimination is never far, and with it the possibility of the day-to-day world coming down on you. The threat of a takeover looms on the horizon -- the vampires want their city back -- and out there in the swamps, someone is watching, and waiting.

Requirements: Hounding The Moon is an 18+ game which is focused predominantly between instant messaging (AIM) and message board role-play. The primary character influence in-game are currently lycanthropes (prone to change as the story progresses), but we are also looking for people to play the human variety as well: normal folks, animators, witches, psychics, RPIT officers, etc.

We are not currently accepting applications for vampires, but that will change once the game gets off its feet and the game-wide storyline progresses.

You’re fear from that dark,
Will make you slowly perish.
It’s the coldest place you can be,
It will torment you forever.

Welcome to Muertan.

For a hundred years Muertan has been home to two rival vampire clans, driven out of the Old World by a small group of humans who have charged themselves with protecting humanity. Some would say that the clans, Sabau and Mondragon, are the strongest pair in existence today for the clans and covens of the old world have all but collapsed. A malignant bureaucracy of incompetent old fools no wiser in the way of things than the pathetic fledging they control.

Whatever they come up with inside their cold egotistical minds, vampires do not have exclusive privileges to the night. Lycanthropes, better known as werewolves share the night with their undead brethren. And let’s not forget the other nocturnal shapeshifters whose grace and elegance is matched only by their cunning and hunger, the werefelines. The Knight Pack no more wants part of the vampire war than the feline’s Pard. But he fight comes whether they like it or not. Neither of the undead clans wish the beasts anything but the worst.

There are some humans who have long known about the bloody underworld of the undead. Centuries ago when the world lived in fear and opened itself up to the darkness the Vampire Hunters took it upon themselves to guard humanity against the creatures of the night. Out of duty and devotion to God and out of greed and promises of ancient riches, those who hunt vampires are the first and only defense against what lurks in the shadows.

Come and walk beneath the bleeding moon

Well you could try TNR: http://www.thenetherrealm.com/forum/

It is an original fantasy world where magic exists and in most places is accepted. We have an original history have the typical fantasy races you ask for plus some originals. We are very friendly, ask the new people, and we incorporate people into the world and into the site. We hate seeing anyone not get responses so the staff work hard with members to keep plots ticking along. :D We also have some VERY good writers. Seriously, these people should be published and no doubt will be in the coming years.

We have a wiki and various skins to aid navigation, so come and check us out and if you are curious say hi in the chatbox. :D

The Story So Far...

Lies being spread...

The year is 2031. There’s is a monumental challenge at hand; the creation of another institution for the gifted. During the last age of mutant surfacing, most of the X-Men were scattered with the destruction of the Xavier Institute for the Gifted; at least for the 10th time in a row. The school, 20 years before then, had become a mutant headquarters instead of a school; new students weren’t even accepted anymore. However, the school had become a fighting ground. For whatever reason, the thought of making mutant kind look innocent had faded away and the thought of fighting back against humanity was the main focus at the time; that was the institute’s downfall.

The U.S. Military could no longer stand for the mutant interference that seemed to sweep the nation. With that, a new type of technology, developed by Arnold Cornwallis, a Neo S.H.I.E.L.D. operative, was used in the annihilation of the institution and all that dwelled within it. Upon the destruction of the institution, the U.S. Military reinstated the “Mutant Registration Act of 2003” to try to limit mutant activity in the United States and possibly aboard. This act was headed by the new president of the United States of America, Jonis Richards. By this time, America is still the most hated country in the world and hasn’t seemed to have gained any popularity; however, America has gained more riches during this time.

Mutants and mutant defenders alike were outraged with the registration act being reinstated and this act not only applied to mutant walking around amongst humans but mutants not even born yet; in that light, expectant mutant mothers had to register their babies while those infants weren’t even born yet. It's a bad time to be a mutant. That is why the Starbuck Institution for the Gifted was established as a last safe haven for mutants. Humans, mutants, mythical creatures are all fighting each other for dominance. How will all of them co-exist together?

-Start of Tape-

"Hi, my name is Matthew Starbuck and this is my school. Here at Starbuck Institution for the Gifted we encourage our students to use their powers for their own gain---er, I mean, we strongly advise against using any special ability for money, sex and power. Possibly even a combination of all three if they manage to bag some really hot millionaire person or even a billionaire. It always ends in tears. Trust me, I've enough money to know this," said a man with a soft sounding voice. The guy appeared to be attempting to hide the sound of a throat wrecked from yelling too much.

"This instructional DVD on how to enter my school will be your greatest asset to gaining membership to my prestigious institution. Not everyone gets in and--"

"Whatever you say jerkface. You let a cihck who only has the power to manually infect herself with herpes into this school. No, seriously, kids, come here. The more people come here the more I get to teach, make money and buy cheap pornography. There's nothing better in the world than torn stockings," said the person who cut off Mr. Starbuck.

"Gato, seriously, go serve your nearest DMV by becoming a stop sign for eighteen wheelers! You're screwing up the audio here! Gosh, now I'm going to have to voice over it with pretty pictures. You know we don't have the budget to be screwing up. Hush your antics! Uh, where was I? Oh, yes, here at Starbucks the idea of allowing mutants into the school isn't the only goal here. We welcome cyborgs, aliens, zombies just as long as they don't eat brains or sexual organs, hey, we even welcome anyone who considers Vanilla Ice to be a relevant human being. In fact, anyone who doesn't fit into what others consider to be a decent and civilized society is welcome here. Of course that would include humans," explained this rather tired sounding person.

"Matthew, honey, come to bed and get off that stupid tape recorder. Sheesh babe. We live past the stone age for crying out loud," some female sounding voice spat out.

"Marlie! Damnit! Blah, this is what I get for five dollars an hour? Hush and go make me a sandwich. Anyways, the only criteria for joining the school is to have some combat skills, be weird as all heck and don't pick on our name and try to say that we serve coffee even though we do. That's about it. Beyond that, come here and enjoy yourself. We don't follow any law as long as you're within the institution. Just, please, if you're going to be a hoodlum then at least give yourself that codename. That way we don't have to wonder what you, who you are and what you do with your life," the man went on to say.

"Oh, and please, PLEASE, if you're going to be into emo music turn it up as loud as you possibly can. My celebrity avatar IS Marilyn Manson. Not saying the guy's emo. Just saying that emo music would be something that he would be into," that same annoying guy added to his boss' statement. Sadly enough, this "Gato" character was a teacher at the school. He acted more like one of the students.

"Uh, yeah, whatever. If you want to join up at the school just cilck on the link below. No, don't click over on another tab. If you do I hope you get Rick Roll'd or something. Yes, just click it and see the site itself even though the guy who created is a total douche. Oh, and if I don't say it because I'm too drunk when you arrive at the school WELCOME TO STARBUCK!"

-End of Tape-

At first glance it looks like we have over 20 members, and we do, but more than half of them are people who registered, posted maybe two things at the most, then dropped off the face of the planet. We have, at the most, maybe five active people.

We're also trying our best to be receptive of new members, even if we don't look it because it's the same two or three people in every thread. This is, unfortunately, the only activity we get and we're working very hard on fixing that. Either way, we have a few threads that haven't yet taken off or haven't been posted in yet that we're waiting on new members for.

I do believe Obsidian Rain fits your critera to an extent so feel free to have a look around. If you have any questions you can ask them here or in our shoutbox.

Tapestry: I wish I could, but I'm not eligible to join until October. :) Sorry.

Iulia, I looked at your site...I'm honestly just not impressed. I said I didn't want a were/vampire/hunter RPG, and from what I've read that's exactly what it is. Really, good show, boy.

NR staff, cool site. But I'm not looking for medieval right now, really. Not my style too much.

Garelock, sorry, but I'm not looking for a mutant/gifted site.

Cosmos, I'm sort of looking for something set on Earth right now. Best of luck.

Well, you said Horror/Supernatural, so what's scarier than a notebook that can kill you?

DeathNotes are notebooks dropped on earth by Death Gods (Shinigami) and picked up by humans, who can then write names in the DeathNote and kill anyone whose name and face they know, just by writing the name.

We're brand new, and so you can be one of the founding members to get the site off the ground! We are fairly relaxed, but we do want posting, hopefully 2-3 times a week at minimum. We're a PG-15 site, we allow swearing but anything sexual is kept in PMs and is not allowed on the board.

Japan. The Year is 2008. Deaths have been occuring left and right, all of them criminals that deserved death, all of them judged by a being known as 'Kira'...

Only...surprisingly....Kira is NOT Yagami Light.

This is an AU DeathNote RPG, with a few similar aspects.

The canons are all there. But Light never picked up a DeathNote. Ryuk, therefore, has never followed Light around, and Misa is therefore not in love with Light, in fact, she has never met him. L is the main investigator, along with a childhood friend, Yagami Light, now untouched and pure, thanks to non-exposure to the DeathNote. Shinigami are dropping a second copy of their DeathNotes all over the earth, and more humans are picking them up, and killing whomever they deem deserving of death.

Imagine....Power that is unimaginable...at your fingertips lies the ability to kill anyone you hate.

Will YOU be corrupted...by the DeathNote?

We have rules that forbid people with DeathNotes from using them on members without that member's permission, and people are allowed and encouraged to give out false names. Since we're AU, you don't have to know all about the series to jump in, all you have to do is make up an OC and have fun!

Hope to see you soon!

THEN

As colourful figures dance across a tiny television, Sam and Dean Winchester await their father's return. Pastor Jim's watching them for the week, while Daddy and Uncle Bobby go hunt all those bumps in the night. The Winchester boys never knew what their Daddy's actions would cost them in the future. Nobody did.

A demon, powerful and unmerciful is hoarded away... stored, so to speak. John and Bobby made a grave error in locking up Ouza. Little did they know that locking away such a hideous evil would bring on the fury of a demon scorned. Tezcatlipoca.

NOW

Sam and Dean are on their own in the world, with the usual help from Bobby, and others along the way... then things start to go wrong. Well, more than usual. As people start to die [more], they find themselves facing many new characters, and still fighting for Dean's way out of his impending trip to Hell.

New friends and foes play a major part for the boys, as a new war comes along... will the boys survive Tezcatlipoca's vengeance?

You might want to try Vampire Academy. We are based around a college environment, and as well as vampires we accept all different kinds of creatures. We are pg-15, i'm don't mind what you post, no minimum, just nothing too graphic. What you want to play and you character are up to you.

We have 30 members, but some members have more than one character, as you need a new account for each character. I am currently checking through members, so may have less because some have been inactive for a while.

We have new posts almost every day, and there is always someone wanting to RP with you. Modern time period, no plot at the moment. If you want something to happen, I'm open to suggestions.

Take a look, I'm Draco Darkblood on the site, if you have any questions please let me know.

Whatsoever I've feared has come to life
And Whatsoever I've fought off became my life
Just when everyday seemed to greet me with a smile
Sunspots have faded
Now I'm doing time
Now I'm doing time
Cause I fell on black days
I fell on Black days

Imagine a world that is dark and bleak, desolate and lonely. One in which heroes of the past have fallen into darkness while new ones must arise to save the world and it's inhabitants from the final showdown. Not just an apocalypse but armageddon! It started as a ripple in a pond when Buffy and crew shut down the Hellmouth or rather they believed they did....they had only opened the door...

Whomsoever I've cured I've sickened now
Whomsoever I've cradled I've put you down
I'm a search light soul they say
But I can't see it in the night
I'm only faking when I get it right
When I get it right
Cause I fell on black days

Evil had been released but still it waited, buying it's time. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike! Angel and crew took down Wolfram and Hart or rather the LA branch and literally awoke the sleeping dragons. Then it happened, what everyone feared - one final violent earthquake created by the evil law firm and California broke away from the rest of the states and sunk beneath the ocean's depths. Two survivors remained standing, Angel and his son Connor but they've changed....and the door was opened just a little wider...

I fell on Black days
How would I know
That this could be my fate
How would I know
That this could be my fate

In turn these chain of events caused the earth to rumble and hell to roar, the Devil's gates slammed back open and with no one there to close it, evil poured forth it's minions to conquer and devour the earth! Some will fight and climb their way out of hell since they were technically never dead and were just spending time down in the devil's basement for a little recreational torture.

So what you wanted to see good has made you blind
And what you wanted to be yours has made it mine
So don't you lock up something that you wanted to see fly
Hands are for shaking
No, not tying
No, not tying

To survive, you have to be strong, gotta be tough and sometimes that even means leaving behind those you love. Just ask one Buffy Summers about that. The world is changing fast, daylight is slipping away from us as darkness descends to over power those that would stand against it and fight. This is hell on earth ladies and gentlemen, dark days....frightening times....do you have what it takes to survive? Knowing that we all....have fell on black days?

I sure don't mind a change
I sure don't mind a change
Yeah, I said sure dont mind, I sure dont mind the change
I sure dont mind the change
Cos I fell on black days
I fell on black days
How would I know
That this could be my fate

You should check us out at SoN. We're a modern horror game, fairly free-form with player driven stories and a character oriented system. There are countless character possibilities and I always try to let players bring in their own ideas if nothing on the lists suits them.

But we've definitely got plenty of critters! xD

Ok as of now the world is secret, but I mean by the way things started out who knows how long that will last. I mean think of the prospect of playing just as the secret comes out. That time that's always written out in the plot that made the game what it is, now's your chance to make it what it'll be. Will it be accepted right away, will it be a struggle and if so, who wins? So there's that, I just wanted to get that out the way before you go a thinking its the same old same old.

Oh and our community is rather small, seven members in all but we're just starting out. We're all friendly if not a little too friendly... and weird... mostly weird =P speaking of which check out my evil laugh =}D.. note the killer evil mustache... <.< >.> uh....

Ok sooo there's no Vampire our werewolves per say, but there are witches which all have unique powers and are sometimes sought to explain the mysteries of these creatures. For example perhaps a witch has the ability to drain life force threw a kiss and it just so happened to like to use the neck, well that's where the vampire myth came form... Or or a witch with the power to take on the form of a dog like creature like for instance a wolf or dingo then boom you have ur werewolf myth... I'm like myth busters over here dang... Anyway you get where I'm getting at, we're friendly, we're flexible, and we have a cool plot in need of great rpers therefore I offer you Project: Salem.

Set in the near future, Project: Salem is a modern day witch hunt. Rated N.C. 17 for the big kids in us, I think this might be what you're looking for.

To whom it may concern,

However I'm not sure whom would be to concern with the ramblings of this old man any longer. But I still sit and write, I suppose we all want our story's told one way or another, for a man with no family I assume this type of letter is the obvious choice... Choices, the ones we have and the ones we do not, isn't that how these stories always being. For me, a man of my position, to speak of such explanations as the god or the devil is out of the question. However I have no choice for that is the only way I can even begin to phantom what I've witnessed during my time with Salem.

How that word brings back memories, ones not even this old corpse can forget. They told me I couldn't speak of it, S.a.l.e.m., the "Secret Association in League towards the Exploration of Magic." That was our official title but I'm no longer sure if I can believe even that anymore. Is what we were doing really exploration? The more I think about it the less I can accept it. No, I've always known somewhere, deep down, that wasn't exploration, it was extermination.

Oh god how many have I killed? How stained are these hands, that fumble to write these lines, in blood? It sickens me, just the thought of the pain I've caused, and the horror of her face keeps me from my sleep: hunting my nightmares. Its gotten so hard to even shut my eyes, that face, that face of an angle and a demon torturing me. Damned hand, stop your accursed shaking how many times will you force me to write this letter. Let me continue before I lose what little nerve I have left.

You may find this next part hard to believe, even after what I've witness I still have troubles believing. Enough with the run around, I've always been a direct man, that's how Ive lived my life, there's no reason to change now. Salem was created with the sole priority to hunt and capture witches. After they were caught they were taken back to our labs where they were probed, prodded, and experiment upon until ultimately there was nothing left to test: at which then they were disposed of permanently.

Then I believe what I was doing was protecting my country like any good soldier, and believe me I was damn good. You see I say was because; a good soldier never questions his superiors, he carries out his orders without hesitation and most importantly he keeps his country's secrets to himself: yes I was damn good once upon a time. But after what I've seen, at the end of my life I've begun to doubt what is most important. Is it being a good soldier, or a good human. I know I'm going to hell for the sins I've committed, there's no doubt about that, so this letter isn't the redemption of my soul but a plea for the rest of the ones I've destroyed.

I can't name them all, hell I can't even count them all, the live I've ended. But one, it stands out, I wish it didn't for it hunts me so, but it stands out. Her name I do know, Anisette Marie, I made sure they spelled it right on her tombstone. Beautiful girl with the saddest eyes I've ever seen. I suppose anyone's would be so sad witnessing there parents murdered before them. She was but a mere child and yet she still stood up to her parents' killers and in front of those monsters she summoned what little power she had to keep us away from their lifeless bodies.

I reacted like a soldier, like I was train to when facing a threat. No matter how big or small you crush it. I remember her name, I remember her face, I remember the weight of her lifeless body in my arms. She bleed the same blood, she cried the same tears, as did her parents. And from that day on I was no longer a good soldier. I questioned, I disobeyed, and now, on this tear stained pad I'm telling the secret: to whomever will listen. Here is my secret, here is my country's secret. I still felt heart beat...

I sincerely wish I hadn't,

Sergeant Major, James T. Fields

Imagine yourself a detective, you stumble upon a scene of an decorated officer in front of you, and a little over here and a some more over there on the wall. He no longer looks familiar but the name still rings clear, how couldn't it its been everywhere in the news. This years metal of honor recipient put a bullet threw his head a day after accepting the damned thing, how the news'll love to get a hold of this story. Sometimes they can just make you so sick you need a ci... right, right no smoking in the crime scene.

As you put that rectangular box of heaven back in you nameless officer one hands you the blood soaked letter in a plastic bag. Great your job just got tougher, "James T. Fields is a national hero... he will be missed dearly... the cause of death was accidental... a gun malfunction..." Gah who would believe that, a decorated soldier accidentally shoots himself in the face while cleaning his firearm. And this letter just put the final nail in the coffin, although you're sure that the higher up's will make this disappear too, they already have there story so why are you here. Well to keep up appearances no doubt. You have that promotion coming up and you'd hate to be passed by again, right?

So you do like a good little flunky should; you keep your mouth shut, when they call the press conference you stand there as the detective heading up the case, you give you sincerest condolences for the loss, and you rule the case as an accident and close it. That's what you'd do right? That's what Detective Avery Nickolas did, or was suppose to do. Stepping up to the podium he clear his trough repeating his sincerest condolences for the loss when his chief by his side nodding in agreement. Just the sight made Avery's stomach turn into knots so when it came time for the ruling he paused before delivering the phase that lunched a news frenzy.

"Ahem, James T. Fields was and is a national hero who's unexpected death affect the lives of many... he will be missed dearly. As of now the cause of death will be ruled as an accidental... gun malfunction.... However during the course of the investigating there was a discovery of possible evidence to a different crime. That is all the information we have until further investigation, any questions please addressed to the chief. Thank you."

"Fifteen Hundred Years have passed in the current age of man. The multitude of creatures I have created have come together to live in relative harmony. However, unrest has reared its ugly head. Two families fight for the throne: the Aloch family and the Mon'dia family.

Both families have a long history of conflict. From the moment I created both, I could see the world was not big enough to comfortably hold them all. However, by that time, it was too late for my intervention.

The Mon'Dia have many supporters, and they are popular. A family who base their ruling on the arts, on music, dancing and joy. A beautiful family- but of very little substance. They could not bring themselves to uphold laws.

The Aloch too have their supporters. The Aloch are useful; They are full of ideas and wisdom, and they are resourceful. In their own way, they too are a beautiful family. They ruled with more strength and upheld laws. As can be expected, they are not so popular amongst the criminal element.

Both families fight with force. Both wish to claim the throne. Both claim their right to it. Their hatred for one another has reached a fever pitch, and both families are using their sway to influence my creatures to join the fight. Treason, Murder, Tactics, Military Operations, Espionage. It has grown into a war.

A war for freedom, a war for Illiria, a war for their lives...

This world is not only for those that are human, for my creativity spans far beyond the simple human being. From those who cannot die, to those who are forced to walk the this world cursed to live in death. Those of pointed ear, winged back or beastly heart. All inhabit the earth I created, all live through me..."

So you want things that go bump in the night, this is the site you've been waiting for. We also have the level of activity you requested.

There is no war between lycanthropes and vampires. The were-folk do their best to avoid the night stalkers and the night stalkers do their best to keep out of pack affairs. While lycans rule the suburbs and vampires stalk the high crime end of town, they don’t mingle well. Their separation also allows them to remain hidden- hidden from the basic laws and physics of the one dimensional human world. That’s how everyone likes it and that's how it's meant to stay.

Atleast, mostly everyone. A modern Sherlock Holmes, John Alden is known for solving cold cases and puzzling crimes. It was only a matter of time before the missing persons, maulings, and murders would unearth timeless mysteries. John Alden has uncovered the world’s best kept secret and there’s a legion of supernatural beings that will stop at nothing to keep it that way.

John knows that no one would believe that vampires and lycanthropes exist, let alone commit crimes and murders. He also knows that these supernatural beings could never be incarcerated. But he could deal out his own justice, with help of course. The kind of help from docile lycanthropes and a few vicious vampires, has brought many to justice. Only those who have managed to remain secluded and unpunished are the witches. Their conniving and secretive ways remain a mystery to all, save for a select few who have gained enough trust to dive into their corrupted world.

The witches have remained unscathed in the dangerous city of Aldenville. Until recently. A strange case that was assigned to John Alden would just look like an ordinary woman attacked by a vicious dog while out for a jog to anyone else. But John’s knows better. He needs help to figure out why anyone would want to commit the first witch assassination in years. He needs to find it out fast before the witches turn on the lycanthropes. He needs to find it out before his whole city goes to hell.

Will you be brought to justice, or will you be the harbinger? Or… will you just go on through life without knowing about the supernaturals that live amongst you and others like you? You can only ignore it for so long. Even a young child notices when things go Bump in the Night.

At Bump in the night, there is all sorts of possibilities for plots- from joining in the new order, to taking various high-level positions that remain open, the possibilities are endless. Positions open include Coven leader, Witch Council positions, Pack positions.

We're mildly slow moving right now, but with the devotion of the members already on site, things are definitely looking to pick up. Join in now to get the positions that are going fast!

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.

In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.

You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.

Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.

It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.

What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?

Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.

Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.
