Title: [S] Can't Edit Posts.

Seanu - August 16, 2008 10:23 PM (GMT)
So on this forum, registered members can't edit their own posts. We've tried everything, but only the admin accounts can edit their own posts. You can see in this screenshot, I'm logged in as William, there's a post made by me, but there's no "edit" button. The usergroups are set so that members CAN edit their own posts - there IS an edit button in the "Images" section of the admin cp. So we have no idea what's wrong. Anyone? =/

UPDATE :: It seems that you CAN edit whatever you've posted, but you're timed. You can only edit your post for a few minutes after you originally posted it.

There's a couple of possibilities:

1) The code is wrong in the images and it's making the button not show up. can you post that code? This would be my guess...

2) The settings in the member group options are incorrect.

3) You've added some sort of mod that is conflicting.

4) It's just a weird bug that needs to be reported to IF...

Well the images code is just the word "edit" - all of the buttons are.

The settings on the member group are right, because i checked them myself. But not every member's having the problem. I am, as well as several others, but the main admin finds it fine. When I use an admin account, it doesn't seem to happen either.

There is an "Advanced Profile" mod, but it doesn't happen on the other forums. There is the problem on another forum where it freezes the browser, but no one's reported that on here thus far.

And if it's a bug then.. that kinda sucks. xD

Hmmm...you have the correct permission mask assigned to that usergroup?

Yep. They're allowed to post and read and reply in all of the places they should be able to. I've checked it all, but I'll go over it again. It only seems to be when people are moved into their member groups after their applications have been accepted. Normal members who've just registered can edit something they post easily.
