Title: Think This Board Would Take?

Alright, so I've been reading this series of books lately, it's the vampire earth series by E.E. Knight. If you aren't familiar with this series, it's about humanity in the time around 2065 and they have been taken under the rule of the Kurian Order, but there are some who fight to restore things to the way they were. The Kurians use the reapers to feed on humans and steal their life aura in order to survive. Meaning, they're basically vampires, but just not the typical ones we think of. The cousins of the Kurians, the Lifeweavers are of the same genetic makeup of Kurians, but they do not feed on Humanity.

The Kurians send reapers, grogs, quislings (men who work for the Kurians), and other beastly creatures to fight off the human resistance. The Humans, with the help of the Lifeweavers, rely on three castes of warriors. The Bear Clan: The guards of the Ozark Free Territory, the last defense against the Kurian Forces. The Cat Clan: The deep cover spies, assassins, and sabateurs of Southern Command. The Wolf Clan: The invaders of the Kurian Zone, soldiers of the front line. Each of those three clans are granted special gifts by the Lifeweavers to make them stronger than regular humans, allowing them to fight the creations of the Kurians and kill them.

So, anyone think something like that would take. I know it's a bit different than a regular vampire storyline, and thats why I thought to bring it up.

It actually sounds interesting. (Disclaimer: I don't have time to join now, so don't get your hopes up here. ;) )

I really like how it's different from other vampire boards with blood and all. The only problem I have is that there are so many different types of people that it's really going to be hard to have people RP together from the start, which means that it has a higher chance of falling apart.

What you would have to do is allow only one group at the beginning and as you get more players and members, you could slowly allow more people.

Yes, it would be a bit hard with all the different people in groups starting out, which would make it easier to have people start out in one group to begin with, as you suggested. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

I always like the look and feel of unique boards, but you really have to layout and explain the member groups. It's difficult for people to understand if you don't really get in there, and if you leave it open for too much interpretation, you'll find people going all over the place with different ideas of what all grogs are able to do, etc. As long as it's explained and fully understood, it would make a good board.

I think that if you open it to only one type at first, you may get people to join, you may not. If you open it to humans and they want to be quislings, they may not join right off, and may hold out until you open it up, which means a lot of people holding out and not a lot joining. You may also get people joining, but as soon as you open up to the group they do want, dropping their original character. Just my two cents on the matter.

As long as you stick through the potentially rocky start, I think you can succeed with this board.
