We all do it - swear left and right that we can't (or won't) do something, either in the roleplay itself, running of the forum, or interaction with other members. Chances are, though, somewhere along the line you cave inadvertantly, or advertantly (is that even a word). Or are forced to by pirates.

This was the case, too. Until I thought a Tithe-based forum would be nifty. And then agreed to help a friend with her Wonderland-based forum. And I had an overpowering urge to have a forum set in Tortall. Not to mention my rediscovered love of Sailor Moon...

Today, I completed my cat character. It's a talking cat, a several-thousad-year-old talking cat, one with nifty little abilities and simultaneously the personalities of a middle-aged woman and a teenaged girl, but a cat nonetheless. I find it new and different.

And I like it. Go figure. Though if there were many other cats running about instead of humans, I might have an issue.

After failing miserably with Cian (though I now realize this was just because he was so bloody boring), I thought this was the case. Now, though, Kent and Tris are in the mix; while I still don't play them as much, or as well, as most of my female characters, I wouldn't dream of going without them.

Turns out Spore RPGs are fun as hell, as are Oblivion.

I have a lot of "I will nevers" from when I started RPing, but they are pretty stupid, so these are the ones that I remebered off the bat...

I will never RP Harry Potter again. Well, wouldn't you know. I found a really good one, and I joined it, and I love it there.

I did. I played Tonks. And apparently kicked ass. Until I killed her off. Then I long-term NPCed a bitchy werewolf who was one of my character's mothers.

Epic fail. I've only adminned three or four times. But after the second, I vowed never to again. And I failed. Twice.

Yeahhh... that one went down the drain pretty quickly when I realized just how much fun it was to be a baddie. ; )

I will never role play a male character.

This one was even more short lived than the villain one. I thought, "Okay, I'm female, so I can't really role play guys, right?" Wrong! Now I think my character balance is fairly unevenly skewed in the male direction, although it tends to usually stay balanced at roughly 50-50.

I will never role play a central character on an canon site.

Ooops, that all went down the drain when I temporarily played Harry Potter on a Harry Potter site. Actually, it went rather well...

I will never play someone who doesn't have a firm grasp on reality.

As it turns out, sometimes psychopaths or even people who are just off in their own little world are excessively entertaining to play. (Also, they can create some of the best mini-plots).

I will never have a pre-set final relationship for any of my characters during a role play.

Okay, so, for the most part I sitll stand by this, but I had one character who really needed a specific relationship to further him along.

Well, I'll pretty much give anything a shot, but these are some things I never thought I'd come to like. xD

I will never RP as a human.
I used to only RP wolves and dragons and whatnot. I thought, "What's the point of playing a human? I am human! That's so weird, why would anyone do that? O_o" Then I made SotE and played my first humanoid and...now it's pretty much all I play. xD

I will never RP sci-fi.
I have always loooved sci-fi, but it was always so scary and intimidating to me when it came to roleplay! So I never played it and didn't think I ever would.

Then Talyafera spawned the idea for RotE, I went "OMFG!", we brainstormed, we created RotE, and...now I've been playing sci-fi for almost a year, am having a blast, and wondering why the heck I never did it sooner! Intimidating and scary? WHAT WAS I ON? xD

I will never RP modern times.
Granted, what I played was modern fantasy, but still! It was an AIM RP set in modern times and it was fun and cracktastic!

I will never run my own game.
Then I created SotE...xDD

Then came RotE...xD

I will never RP a leader!
As in, the leader of a country/nation/etc. It always scared me because I was worried about Doing It Wrong, so I always left those roles up for grabs for other players, though I would take on lesser leadership roles (for instance, I play the regent of one country). But then one of RotE's space stations desperately needed a captain since it was about to be attacked, so I jumped to fill the role and created my first actual leader of an established in-game location. And migawd was I nervous at first! Unreasonably so, too. P: Now I LOVE it. It's so much fun. xD
