I run Campton High School [[htt[://www.camptonhigh.proboards102.com]], but as you can see it is not doing very well at the moment! I have tried nearly everything to bring new members to the site and to keep the few that I already have...can anyone help me out here?

Gah, it's a problem all boards have, trust me. You just have to grin and bear it, advertising as much as you can, spreading the love so to speak. Try getting some staff, that boosts memberships! ;D But good luck!
First, try a better layout. Layout is everything, unfortunately.
Second, your member legend is blinding. Darken the colors.
The third thing I notice is the organization of your forums is very poor. I sincerely believe they need better organization, plus there's an absolute TON of them, especially for this type of role play. Try putting some as sub-boards.
You have one of the most annoying things in big bold letters right in your welcome table: CANNON
The word is "canon."
That right there is a start. @.@

| Campton High School is just like any other high school across the USA, but this school is a little different. |
Err, I'm turned off just by the contradiction in that, let alone how HUGE your welcome box is. Then, the entire welcome message is grammatically incorrect, and because I'm such a grammar nut, I'm turned off.
Your role play areas are pretty cool, it's just that I don't think too many people want a twenty seven year old Freshman :/ I know RPGs are for fun, but your plot has a very unrealistic theme to it. Again, a twenty seven year old Freshman. The picture in the Welcome Box makes it look like your school is in a big city, but it's in Texas. Somehow, I'm not sure that sort of school would be in Texas (but I don't live there, so what do I know?). Maybe New York would work better for you, and also draw more of the Real Life crowd in.
Something that you might want to think about is why are the students there? Your board has to do with the American Flag - maybe this school could be in Washington D.C., and the students want to get into the government. If you don't like that idea, then I would say take out the American Flags, since your plot isn't...patriotic? I mean, I'm not saying the characters will not like the US, but I don't see how the American Flag has anything to do with it. If you wanted the Texas flag, maybe.
