Title: Looking For Someone Who Knows Ny Really Well

okay, so i've got a board on the tip of my tongue, ready to almost roll. the plot's down, the rules pat, and most of the sidebar ready to go. i just have one, rather huge problem.

i have no forums for my people to post in.

so i kinda need someone who has a good layout of NY, someone who knows some names of some good places that would make a good location for a forum board posting section. i'm not looking for school names, but more like 'hang-out' spots, such as cafes, bars, tourist spots, chruches, the usual. the one reason i haven't looked up all of these is because i thought i'd ask someone on here first, and i really didn't want to make up too much on my upcoming board, even though it's a sci-fi setting thing.

pleasey? those who help shal be awarded with cookies!

Why not just Google Earth it?

I live on Long Island, if you need info about that. :)

okies, thanks much GreyScale. i'll go look that up.

jaded110- i'm looking for more places like, inside NY, like, erm, how do i put this, bistros and cafe's in the city, deep in the city.

You could try this site; you could also see if your local library has this book.

I recently bought an NYC travel book at Costco and it's been such a help! It's by the Fodor's company and it's called "See It New York City."

Besides lists of museums and other attractions it also includes a history of the city, extensive maps (for the general area and specific locations), and whole sections dedicated to descriptions of shops and restaurants/cafes, just like what you're looking for.

It's definitely helped me on my travels and also with a board I'm working for now. If you can find it, I definitely recommend checking it out! :)

WikiTravel, though some of those things are tourist attractions, so you should make sure to read the descrip. and see if it's somewhere a local would go.

I also suggest putting in a Duane Reade pharmacy/corner store. They're everywhere. I think there's more DRs than Starbucks haha.
