Title: Roleplaying Buddies
Description: Would you like to be my friend? :)

Hi everybody-

I just joined this awesome little community, and I'm very excited to be here. For years I've been thinking "Man, there has to be a place where tons of people with interest in roleplaying hangout in a gigantic forum"

And poof, someone brings up RPG directory, mostly because I was whining about not having a big old forum with lots of activity to post my advertisements. So in the name of advertising, I make my way here. Only to find out that the submissions are currently down.

But...you know what? I'm not too bummed by that. I'm just ecstatic there are so many RPers in one place. It pleases me, like Hedonism Bot from Futurama. And what I've decided is that I just love this place because it offers me a place to meet all sorts of wonderful folk that use their imaginations and write!

So...does anybody feel like making a roleplaying buddy? We roleplayers are a strange and rare breed and I think you can never have enough friends that share your interests and can show you new places to play. I'd love to hear from anyone, so PM me or whatever you'd like to get a hold of me.

And just to get some RP kinda talk going...what authors does everyone like out there?

XD Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Ahahah, yeah, RPGD is pretty awesome. I only found it like... two months ago I think and I come here everyday that I have computer access now. Everyone is so friendly and awesome and it's nice to see so many other writers out there, RP or otherwise.

Mmm, my favourite authors would be Garth Nix (top o' the list), Tamora Pierce, Phillip Pullman, among others. Really, I like a wide variety of authors, but Garth Nix is my absolute favourite and I'm quite enamoured with the other two I mentioned.

Hi, Terrance! Welcome aboard! It's fun making friends, especially friends you can talk in gamer jargon with and not have to explain every third word. ;)

Raise your hand everyone who's ever done something like shouted 'San check!' and gotten only blank stares in return.

My favorite authors. hoo boy. F. Paul Wilson, Orson Scott Card, Jim Butcher, Guy Gavriel Kay, C.S. Friedman, Lois McMaster Bujold, David Wiltse, and John Sandford, just off the top of my head.

Hello there! Welcome to RPG Directory!

Of course we could be rp buddies. ^-^

We dont bite, so dont worry

I asked about the author's bit because I recently did a bit of a trade in at a local used bookstore, and I have about 100 so dollars to use on books, so I'm trying to pick up Author names so I can get a bunch of books and read for the rest of the summer- that is, when I'm not enjoying my time with all you fine people.

:)

If anybody ever wants to exchange forum business from one admin to another I'd love to do that, and if I like your place enough I might even join up and write a lil bit in between times I'm not doing work on my forum and another place I play at.

Here's another conversation starter!
Who is the coolest fantasy character you've ever seen?

Greymalkin - August 4, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
I'd go with Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos, though Gerald Tarrant, from C.S. Friedman's Cold Fire trilogy, is a close second.

Gerald Tarrant is crazy awesome cool. Good call. We can definitely be friends!
