I'm building a multi-game rpg that is going to be account-per-player; I have used this style before, but not in years and years, and the site was pretty unusual anyway. I'm also organizing things a little more simplistically, since each game is going to have a limited amount of character spots and have a more focused plot (I'm kind of going back to a more traditional table-top way of rping than the more common forum-based method) so I only have one, generalized IC forum with a list of locations.
To get to my actual question. I know that a lot of people on APP games like to insert a picture or sig of their character in their posts, since they aren't differentiating with the username. Since I don't have individual IC location forums, do you think it would be a good idea to have a set of location icons too, for those who like to set the stage visually as well?
If I went with this idea, I'd make an optional form to put at the top of the post that would have a spot for a 100x100 image of the character, and then a 100x100 image of the location (which I'd put in the list of locations, so after a while people would know where they were on sight) and possibly a 100x100 image of the current weather, though I'm still undecided about that.
Any thoughts?
I'm not seeing why you'd need an icon of the location. Couldn't you just write the name of the location?
Either way, if it's optional, I don't think anyone would object.
