Title: Looking For Up To Two Staff Members
Description: Medieval/fantasy type board

Keeper of Secrets - August 2, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
Name of Board: Doesn't have one yet
Link to Board: None yet.
Requested Position: Co-administrator/creator, and maybe a moderator
How many positions available: At least two.
Information:

I am looking for someone to help me on a trial basis, at first. I have had both good and bad experiences with starting boards with people I don't know very well, and so I would like a chance to get to know the other person(s) better before definitely making them a staff member for as long as the game lasts/they're able to. Once we get to know each other and once I know how we work together, it will probably go off of being a trial.

Please do not be put off by the lack of information I have about this game. I've been rather blocked as far as the plot goes, otherwise I would have enough information to give. I have the start of a basic storyline in mind, but not very much. Basically this will give us a chance to play around with various storyline options.

Co-administrator/creator Position Requirements
Advanced/literate- I am looking for someone who will be able to brainstorm plot ideas with me, first of all. But I am also looking for someone who is willing to participate in and administrate a game that's for intermediate to advanced role players. Basically, the post length requirement will be for a paragraph or more to be written as a post. The longer the post, the better.

Long term commitment- Even though right now I am saying that I would like someone on a trial basis, anyone who shows interest in this needs to have a long term commitment for it in mind, in case things do work out. Obviously if things in real life come up then that's fine, but if you're really interested in helping with this I need a commitment.

Active- You must be active both in preparing everything for the game as well as once the game starts. See the above point (commitment) and the point below as well. This includes advertising for the game as well as approving/denying applications, helping to answer questions and making sure that everyone who joins has a chance to role play with someone. This also includes basically keeping the board as active as possible.

Communication- Communication between staff members is key. We need to be on the same page, especially when it comes to when you're going to be around to brainstorm or just your general activity. If you're going on vacation, just let me know and don't disappear without a word if you can help it.

Experience- Experience administrating/moderating a game like this is a definite plus.

That's pretty much all I can think of right now that are basically essential for this position.

What I'm essentially looking for is a co-creator. The things I need but are definitely not all requirements of the position are:

Graphics- I'm more or less okay at making graphics, but someone with the ability to create great, eye catching graphics (such as advertising banners) would be awesome.

Admin control panel knowledge- Not necessarily -knowledge,- but the ability to go into the ACP and figure out how to, say, change some coding in the board's layout or something. If it helps any, I am planning on using JCink as a forum host.

HTML/layouts- I basically suck at HTML, so someone who knows enough to be able to possibly customize a layout for the board (if they make it) or customize a pre-made layout to add some things in, such as stuff in the side bar.

If you know how to do any of the things of the above, that is a major plus.

Right now I am looking for one person, but the most I will take is two people. We would either make the third person a regular moderator or just a co-administrator/creator, depending on how things go.

What kind of administrating/moderator knowledge do you have? I have been administrating roleplaying websites off and on for over two years now. Some based on other things, one or two that come straight from my own mind.

Stromsong looked deeply into the Queen's eyes as she spoke, her only response, however, was a nod. For a moment she was still, with her eyes closed, she took a deep breath - composeing herself - for Krys was right, this story was at great personal cost.

"It all began with your own request that we be on the look out for anything wrong, anything that was not as it should be. Starshadow, my partener and lover, volenteered to go north, to do a quck sweep, to see if anything was off up there. I was to go with him. His grasp at Valdamarian was far better than many of ours, certianly better than mine." She paused a moment, to keep herself from adding the personal comment that she was thinking. "And so, we traveled north, to a place near where the sorrows forest lies. We were met -and aided- by natives there, one of which acted as our guide through the area."

She paused and took a deep breath, looking away from the Queen as she did so, glancing around her. One hand was gently stroking Sarin's breast. She looked back at the Queen after a moment, haveing readied herself to continue with the harder part of the story.

"For a while, we ranged through the area. We'd found that something was off. Winter had come early, fierce storms blowing in a little before they should have, but other than that everything had seemed calm. We were nearly ready to return to the Vale.

I remember that morning well... We'd all awoken with an odd feeling. Our guide wanted to head back, he said that he'd been traveling away from his family for long enough. I remember it feeling odd...like something was going to go horribly wrong...but I didn't know what. Half of me agreed with our guide, I wanted to leave this place of bitter cold...But then, the more dutiful part of me knew that we couldn't walk away just when we knew something was going to happen. Looking back, I almost wish we had.

We pressed on, promiseing to turn back the next morning. Around noon all hell broke loose. We were ambushed, by whom, I do not know. The fight didn't last long, for our attackers fled, but not before they had striken Starshadow." She paused and swallowed hard, "He had taken his attacker down with him...the man carried this."

As she spoke she rose, causeing Sarin to mantle again. She lifted the cloth wrapped object so that the cloth slid off, falling on to the floor. In her hand, was a sword, bearing the crest of Valdamar. Stormsong did not approach the Queen, instead, she stood just inches from her chair, waiting to be beconed forward, so as not to seem a threat.

Of the above things I listed as needing (graphics/ACP knowledge/HTML/layouts) which can you provide? I can do banners, with the right information, I also have been playing around in the ACP- however my HTML knowldge is limited, I am trying to learn though.
Contact information:PM me here, or e-mail me at skye_1124@comcast.net
Any other information? I get on the computer almost every single day, for a least a few hours.

Thank you for showing interest in this. However, I think I would like someone a little older and with more HTML experience for the position, due to the tasks the HTML will require.

What kind of administrating/moderator knowledge do you have? Please provide up to three links of sites you have been an administrator on. I've administrated quite a few sites, on both Proboards and Invisionfree, plus Invisionfree Power Board.
Site 1 [Viva La Vida]?
Site 2 [WDSTF]?
and I can't find the link to the other site, but it was a Star Wars RP that had 60+ members before an admin disturbance.

QUOTE (Prince Henry Reid)

It all started with a slight rumor, perhaps even a lie, that a small band of rebels had been moving through the White Forest, and of course - Henry had told his dear older brother that he would go investigate it, yet another chance to get out of the city. Riding atop a large white stallion, Henry wore his full armor, plus his crimson red cape, and the twenty soldiers he had brought with him all had tower shields and spears, with large helmets and covered in armor (they look like Gondor Citadel Guards), though Henry was the only one atop a horse, save the leader of the small company, this was not the 'army' Henry had planned on taking, because if there was a rebellion, they would not be able to handle them all.

They had marched through the large forest for hours, following one of many beaten paths, but while marching, none were truly attentive, Henry was staring off at the trees, admiring the many white trees, and even with the abundance of trees, the light could still shine through to the ground, giving them a well lit path. Henry stopped his horse, and the entire company stopped, he turned to the leader of the company. "Do you smell something .... burning?" The man let in a huge whiff, then turned back to Henry. "Why, yes sir, I do." Henry's response was a small sigh, then a turn to the company. "Soldiers, we may be outnumbered, but they are just farmers with pitchforks." Then he continued to move, trotting quicker and quicker as they reached open land, immediately Henry withdrew his sword and dismounted his horse, the soldiers formed a two-line wall, lifted their shields, and lowered their spears, Henry standing on one side, and the company commander on the other side.

It was just their luck that a rebel soldier saw them and alerted everyone else. The rebels were high in number, and it didn't help even more that the army with Henry had split up with in order to find everyone. Henry had moved into the small alleyways by himself, with the occasional rebel using them as quick transportation, he was always quick to kill, and keep moving, and it worked rather well, that was until he found a rope up to the side of a large house, and climbed it. Upon reaching the top, there were three or four archers firing volley after volley down into his soldiers, the first two were thrown off, while the third was stabbed, the fourth one had his throat slit, now - doing all this caught someones attention, and at first Henry had no idea what had happened, that was until the pain kicked in, he could tell an archer from another building had fired an arrow at Henry, and not only that, but hit him just under his shoulder blade, it wasn't deep enough to kill, the armor had prevented that, but it did hurt. He grabbed a bow and stood back up, ready for find the man who had done this, luckily for him, some of his soldiers had found the man, and killed him.

He was not of any use anymore, he sheathed his sword and looked down as the main part of his army was basically being obliterated by rebels. "Phillip has sent me here with no soldiers, almost as if I was sent to die." He turned and slid back down the back rope, cradling his left arm as if it was broken. "Retreat!" Henry yelled, as he ran out the front of the city, out of the clearing and into the forest. He fell to his knees as he looked behind him, it seemed as if he was the only person to make it out, with a quick snap! Henry had broken the arrow, and then quickly taken off his armor. He was very flexible, to reaching behind himself, he pulled the arrow out, and let out a rather loud yell while doing so. He used cloth from his shirt, and tore a small little patch to keep it covered, and then leaned up against the trunk of a tree, the rebels weren't stupid enough to charge into this forest at night, so Henry could rest easily, for now.

Of the above things I listed as needing (graphics/ACP knowledge/HTML/layouts) which can you provide? Graphics, ACP Knowledge, I can work with HTML, and by layouts if you mean CSS, I can just ask my sister.

Waffle Town
These are both from a while ago, I stopped RPing for about 2 months and then restarted, and haven't worked on a sight since . . . . so I have lost most of my links, unfortunately. Sorry!

QUOTE
In the corner of the square sat a little boy, crying. The look on his tear covered face was one that would have sent any compassionate human rushing to his side to comfort him, hold him, make him feel better. He looked positively miserable as he sat by himself, a thin layer of snow resting on him, a long since burned out candle by his side. Cold too, as he had no jacked like the girl, Adelaide, on a horse passing by. A compassionate human would have helped him, that's the simple truth. But Adelaide was not a very compassionate human. She saw no benefit for herself by going over to the little boy, only time taken away from their journey. Her long brown hair fell over her shoulders, over a head, bearing a face, bearing a cold and uncaring expression. A cloak was wrapped around her body and hazel eyes stared forward, unmoving, just thinking.

One thing she though about was her Knight Master. Specifically that he was not there, and that was, in Adel's mind, a good thing. She was not looking forward to the rest of the journey in the cold, with harsh winds brushing by her. Stopping would have made it longer, but that's what he would have made them do. Then he would have gone to the boy, probably thinking only of his dearly beloved code of Knighthood in his head, and found out what was wrong. He might even have gone further, to the extent of giving the boy a cloak, or some coins, a gesture that would have added confusion to the bitter winds and biting cold. She could not  get what benefit the older man got from it, because there was none, at least in her views. Truly, making the boy happy should have been benefit enough, as her Knight Master continuously told her, but Adel, though nodding on the outside, had neither understood nor truly accepted his words. It often went that way. He said something. She nodded. He expected her to understand it, or to ask, or at least to think about the words. She tried her best to forget them.

The streets of Corus were lined with snow. It was glistening on the trees and dancing on rooftops. It was truly a beautiful sight, with little snowflakes falling down, each and every one different from the others. There wasn't a cloud in the sky that night and the moon was already halfway to the point where it would be, but did Adelaide, halfway herself (except not through the sky, through her Squiredom), notice any of these things? The simple answer is no. The complicated, long answer is no. No, she didn't, too busy focusing on the uncomfortable part of herself, wondering why she'd signed up for this life, and then reminding herself it'd been because, well, she had the talent for it. If not, said a tiny voice inside her. The attitude, Adel. Adel scowled at the little voice inside of her, the one she rarely bothered to listen to, and rode on, not stopping to look back at the boy, not even once.

Of the above things I listed as needing (graphics/ACP knowledge/HTML/layouts) which can you provide? Graphics -- Well, I'm good at simple things and okay at other stuff. Not my strongest, but I can do it.
ACP knowledge -- Definitely, I've worked with it a while and experimented a lot.
HTML -- Thanks to my dad, yes. ^_^ If there's also something that I odn't know, I also have about a billion websites for it.
Layouts -- I'm going to go with what JRL said and guess that this means CSS, as you didn't say anything else. CSS I'm not terrible at, again I've got a ton of resources, including my dad so that shouldn't be a problem.
Contact information: AIM, thatogal. Also, if you PM me here I check it a ton.
Any other information? If flattery helps, I like your avatar. ;) And it's night for me now, so I'll be on again tomorrow (early fyi. stupid jet lag. :p luckily it's wearing off)

What kind of administrating/moderator knowledge do you have? Please provide up to three links of sites you have been an administrator on.
I have been admin of at least 4 sites. I shut down two of them because of inactivity and lack of people. I am currently working on my own Free for all RPG.
And All That Could Have Been
I was background creator and coder for another site, but drama things happened and I have been removed from there. Some things I did are still around, but I took much of my backgrounds.
Shadow Clan

I know coding as well as how to create backgrounds and maintain them. I am handy with Photoshop if needed. I am also very creative and a decent RPer.
Sample RP post (posting it in this thread is optional. You can choose to PM me a sample if you need to, just say that you're doing so)
I currently cannot access any of my old posts, but if you need me to make up one, I can do so at a command.
Of the above things I listed as needing (graphics/ACP knowledge/HTML/layouts) which can you provide?
I do know graphics and HTML coding. I also could create a layout if needed. They're not the best in my opinion, but I made the one on my website.
