Title: [S] Getting My Mini-banner With Link In My Si

Sharpiefan - July 30, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
I've figured out the widgets and stuff, but when I go to put my mini-banner and code in my sidebar, so folks can link back, the whole forum ends up squished in the sidebar, leaving a big white space where the boards should be.

I've tried two or three times to get my link-back code and stuff up, with the same result, and I'm almost afraid to post replies to the 'Affiliation' board here, in case I blow my board up or something.

I'm using phpBB3 (hosted by Forumotion) and here's the code:

CODE
<div align="center"><textarea><a href="http://showthecolours.forumakers.com/index.htm" target="_blank"><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c139/Sharpiefan/StCMiniBanner.jpg" /></a></textarea>

I'm not really used to playing around with HTML, although I can do basic stuff. Please help!

who's side bar are you using?

i'm not really familiar with those forum types or else i could help you but, if nothing else works, might i suggest creating an affiliation thread?

i take the text box out of the side bar because i think it's ugly and i post a thread with all of my board's buttons in my advertising forum. that way, you can just pick it up there, if you want to affiliate... don't be afraid to post in the affiliation threads, here, either. if you're replying to a request, that means you're offering up your board's button code. we won't have to go looking for yours but the affiliates seem to work so affiliating isn't a problem.

The text box creates problems on several hosts, and I think yours is one of them. Instead of putting the code in the sidebar, I would put it in a post.

As simple as that? I thought it was something I was doing, as my only real experience with HTML and coding is in LiveJournal. Thanks, Roswenth, I'll try that.
