Title: Human/fantasy Rpgs Wanted Here!
Description: picky int-avd mun, so be prepared ;D

scandalous flaw - July 27, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
Genre: Real Life RPG's (I'm already in a Hollywood one), Fantasy RPGs (Vampires, Werewolves, etc. things that look like humans though)
Difficulty: Somewhere between Intermediate and Advanced. I don't want to be expected to write 1,000 word posts everytime, but I can when inspired by the right people. I know that people have their muse-less days but I refuse to RP with this:

QUOTE
She looked up at the man. "Yes, yes it is, "She replied.

She took the pen, and put it into her pocket. She realized that he must think she was crazy for racing after it. "You must think I'm dumb for racing after my pen or something. It's just....special I guess you can say."

A thought passed through her head, a song idea. She quickly opened her journal, whipped out the pen, and jotted down a few words. "Sorry, I have to jot my thought down," She said. "You could be an inspiration or something."

No offense against the writer, of course I know we all have our own style and comfort level of writing. But when I spend a half an hour to an hour on my posts, I expect at least some similar effort. Not in time, cuz some people get those things out like crazy.. I take a while ;D But they come out good in the end, so I just want to be inspired to stay in your SL by playing with people who write well and think creatively. I usually post around 500 words per post, but like I said I can doll out 1,000 if you get me in the mood ;D

Type(s) of Creature(s): Humans, Vampires, Werewolves, etc.
Preferred Rating: Let my character have sex, please. I know that other people don't want to read it, and I don't actually want to RP the down and dirty, but I want room to let things get steamy. And I love to cuss, too, so anything below PG-13 is probably a no-no. R is best, it makes things interesting.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I am not exaggerating when I say I'm on all day, everyday. Granted, I do have a life and I do go out with my boyfriend from time-to-time, but I take care of my sister [she's in a wheelchair and needs care 24/7] part-time while my dad is at work.. so I have allll day to post! I know not everyone is the same, but a handful of dedicated members in a really active board would be swell. I don't have the patience to wait a week for someone to reply to my thread.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Modern, maybe a little post-modern

Other Notes:
I'm very much inspired by the people I play with. If there are people who put effort into their characters and plots, then I wanna be in your SL!
NO Harry Potter
NO strictly based-on-a-book-or-movie plots
NO small towns
NO high school and I'd be very picky if I were to join a college RPG
NO made up lands and I'm not super interested in post-apocalypse, either, but maybe
Canon based + subplots = <33333.
I'm down to bust out the creativity and dedication needed to make a good app if the SL is worth it, but nothing ridiculous please. It takes me long enough to fill them out as it is
I'm interested in Fantasy mostly, because I'm already in a regular human SL. Twilight and such is fine, though I've never read the books.
Original plots are love, too.
Last but not least, I <3 the SL I'm in right now because the members chat up the c-box all the time! I want to get to know the other members and I want them to want me, too ;D

i've got two boards that might appeal to you. we're rated R on both and have no problem with anything you want to try and throw at us. now, only the crime one has canons but the vampire one is definitely worth checking out, too. we ask that you post at least 300 words on the vamp board and 500 on the crime but, really, it's not that hard, is it? i'm currently in a thread with 1000+ words a reply but we don't, in any way, demand hat of anyone. obviously, the crime board is RL and only has humans but we've got vampires, hunters, mortal pets, and regular humans on the vampire board. both are set in major cities [one in london and one in detroit] so that's not a problem, either. so yeah... i guess the rest if up to you. here are the plots, have fun!

Detroit. Already one of the most infamous and dangerous cities in the world. One wouldn't think that it would be possible for this city to become even more so, but it has.

For years, the Colombians, Italians, and Russians had all held a shaky truce while they attempted to take their control over the city. Each 'gang' had their own specialty and each one was trying to rub out the other in subtle ways. The Colombian Cartel ran the best drugs, the Russian Mob had the best weapons and the Italian Mafia held great power in the city government. Unfortunately, they were always at war. One man, a great and respected leader from the old days, stepped up to bring peace to the city and offered a way to make the best of their strengths and weaknesses. Together, the three leaders from the three families and the revered leader were going to turn things around at a summit meeting in downtown Detroit. What happened then, no one can honestly tell you.

    Dead.

It was all over the news for weeks. The one that they called the Don was found dead in his hotel room the day before the meeting when all of the families and their people were in town and on edge. With such a loss to their last hope, it seems that everyone is pointing the finger at the other. The police just blamed the families and their war but the families are blaming one another. Who could have done this? The Colombians? Well, of course they want to own the drug world but what would they do with the whole city? The Russians? Americans still like democracy, thank you. The Italians? Those pasta loving morons would turn the city into some backwards third world village! So then... who?

If you listen very carefully, you can hear it.

in london, there is a war brewing between vampires and hunters. the three vampire clans are trying to resurrect the first vampire, lilith. having been sent cast out of eden by god, lilith became the first vampire, the monster in paradise. as the centuries passed, she populated the world with vampires, ruling the world, until one of her own children thought that she was becoming too powerful and took her life but an evil this powerful never really dies. now, all three clans have one of the canopic jars of lilith and they only need the skull of lilith to bring her back. the problem is that the hunters also have one of the four jars and they plan to put an end to the nightmare, once and for all. there is one that knows where the skull rests but he isn't helping anyone. with the one who killed lilith now walking around london, many wonder what will happen with the war and their plans. one thing is for sure, with mortals still in the city as open game for the undead and a war in the streets,

london is bleeding.

Hey! We're a post modern (though technology hasn't changed much) set in San Francisco. We're in the Charmed Verse, but if you don't know much about the show, you're alright. We explain everything pretty well and if you ever have questions, one of the admins is almost on (Coty [augustine] and myself) and we've usually got a member or two lurking. We're only a whole day old, so we're not OMG active, but if you wait more than...eh seven hours for a reply, there's something wrong!

As for having sex, we're a little odd about that. Since it's technically cyber rape if you RP sex with a minor, we require people who want to play out sex to be 18. I don't want to deal with it if someone finds out or whatever, and though it think it's crazy stupid, I don't write the laws. So, if you're over 18 and are hitting it with someone (in the game of course) that's over 18, let me know and I'll give you guys permission to view the subforum where that goes on!

Otherwise, if you have a question feel free to PM me or ask on the site or ask in the c-box!

It seems that whenever the world is finally spinning the way one desires it, something comes along and knocks it off course once again. For the Halliwell Sisters, the world had been spinning wonderfully for over twenty years. Their powers had become unmatched, even by the infamous King of Good Magick, and they alone had nearly purged the Underworld of magicks that were to be of a danger to their children. They each had three beautiful children to carry on the Warren blood and spread good magick. True these children held no special powers beyond that of their blood and they aren’t Charmed Ones or anything close, but they shouldn’t be counted out. They have something that the world has always been after. Something even good is after.

Great power flows through those pages and the rights to claim it is solely yours would give you rights to the entire magickal world, or at least that’s what one mislead boy thought. Wyatt Halliwell was supposed to become the King of Good Magick, and though he was well on his way, the Elders gave him three hoops to leap through. The First Task; prove to three whitelighters that he had a mastery over his powers. This was easy for the powerful young man to complete, and the first hoop had been leapt through with ease. The Second Task; reach the age of thirty, a point at which the Elders believed he would be ready to receive their blessing. The Third and Final Task; have something to which he could prove his greatness. In this, the Elders meant only that he needed to commit some great good deed or prove he was truly good. To him, it meant getting something of great power. Though Excalibur, the sword he was to wield, was eventually to be under his control, he lost the ability to use it around the age of fifteen. The reasoning is still unknown, though many believe a new guardian has been born. With no other options, he turned to the infamous Book of Shadows.

He approached his mother, the matriarch of the Halliwell Line, and asked for the book. She refused to give all its power to one Halliwell and leave the others without it. Upset, enraged and confused, Wyatt left the manor and was found by a rather...dark man. The Oracle told him that if he was to remove his mother and her sisters from the world, that he would become the Patriarch and could thus imbue himself with the Book. That night, Wyatt returned to the manor and confronted his mother once more, begging her for the book. Her refusal caused a rage to burn within him, but yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He couldn’t kill Piper Halliwell; he couldn’t kill his mother. However, someone could. The Oracle arrived behind Piper and stabbed her, managing to avoid her detection.

His aunts, having been guided by a premonition of Phoebe, arrived to see their sister dead and the two drew a rather obvious conclusion; Wyatt had killed her. Paige sent a bolt of electricity that resembled that of the Elders toward her nephew who blocked the blast with a shield. Consumed by his own magick and rage, the boy threw an energy ball at his more passive aunt only to find a familiar figure in his life blocking the shot; his father. Leo had charged in front of the energy ball and died saving one of his charges. Phoebe, who didn’t have her physical strength about her at this age, rushed for the book while calling out the name of her husband. Coop arrived with Henry (the two had been working on convincing Henry Jr. to ask a girl out) only to find their deaths awaiting them. Henry tried to take down the boy and did so, but a mortal can only do so much against a witch. A blast of energy threw Henry back, breaking his neck and leaving his body lifeless. Paige tossed another blast of electricity toward her darkening nephew as she rushed toward her husband’s lifeless body. Her hands rested over him as she tried to heal him, but no magick came. There was no way to return this dead mortal.

Phoebe called out for her sister to start the spell as Coop used his powers to stop the wicked man. The two Halliwell witches both knew what spell they’d be calling on; the one they had used years and years ago to destroy one of the greatest evils ever known. However, the Oracle had different plans. His athemae found another sheath and Coop fell to the floor, dying at the hands of a rather wicked creature. Though the sisters had started the spell, Wyatt managed to end their lives as they tried to finish the spell. Emotionally destroyed, afraid to hurt their nephew and confused, the Charmed Ones fell and Wyatt took a leap into darkness.

The magickal world is in shambles. Good and Evil have both suffered from this. Good magick no longer has a hero or a hope to turn to and Evil must suffer the burden of changing age old taboos about Warlocks and Demons. Killings have become a common thing as beings of darkness try to get enough power to challenge the Warlock King. Good beings are dying at a rate unseen in years and there’s little they can do without the infamous Charmed Ones running about. Mortals are still chugging along, but even they are starting to notice things are changing. The future is unclear and though we know that every hand will change the course of history, the hand that ends this chaos is still shrouded in darkness. It could be yours or that of your killer. Darkness is coming and the time of light has passed. Take a stance and get ready for a ride; no one is coming to save you this time.

I saw a few things that may or may not fit into this but I figured I'd give it a try anyway. We're original, semi sci-fi fantasy, and not exactly post-apocalyptic ( not sure what you'd call it, I guess 'a new age / era.' ) We don't have vampires and werewolves but we do have psionics ( gifted humans ), Tainteds ( a long story short - animal / human hybrids ), and dragons along with just humans themselves. If it's not your cup of tea then I'm still grateful you at least looked us over. =) Hope to see you there~

2013.
What an unlucky number.

"My name? Oh... it's not really safe to say now, is it? Sorry. But it's best to stay anonymous
when you're talking about things like this; particularly as my house was broken into last week.
I'm not feeling sorry for myself, not by far; it happened to my friend too. The crime rate started
to shoot up here in London in about 2010 and it just kept going. The authorities can't really
handle it. Why don't we move? Because it's the same everywhere else; London just happens to
be where I stay. So many people are mugged near me now and there was even a murder only
five minutes from where I stay. It's unsafe and I can't even let my kids out of the house. I mean,
there was once a time where I could stroll down the street without clutching my kids' hands and
holding my handbag tight to my chest in case someone should try and grab it."
Welcome to London.
Your own personal hell.
Everyone's own personal hell.

Imagine crime shooting up to a ridiculous level. Imagine being
afraid to walk down the street. Imagine the breaking of the law
around you every day. Imagine the authorities losing control.
Imagine the punk movement's utter dream and your worst nightmare.
You my friend, are imagining 2013.
Watch out or you may end up with
BULLETS IN THE BACK.

Bullets In The Back is a hopefully successful attempt at a crime RPG
where crime actually does happen and the events actually are realistic
for the future but pretty horrific. The roleplay is advanced and we are
an originals only roleplay, believing in true freedom with characters.
We are R-rated so be sure you can handle violence. Hope to see you there!

»this world of ours holds many secrets. for generations they’ve been carefully hidden and we continued our lives in ignorance, oblivious to what was under our nose. now everything’s in jeopardy; now everything is about to be exposed…

»we are shapeshifters. two species of the same race. those who follow a human heart and those led by an animal’s. we hate each other and have been fighting the same war for over thousands of years, perfectly balanced in power. now the odds are different. and it’s all because of tyrander.

»tyrander. a man so powerful, he claims the gods bow to his wishes. his takeover was so quiet, it almost was unnoticeable. almost. he started in africa, working his way to power and soon combining all the clans of the anthos within the african nation. he then spread to europe and asia. his takeover was not hostile and his ideas won him many supporters. and that’s one thing that can be said for the man: he keeps to his word.

»now it’s 2008 and america has been relatively untouched by his developing empire. his south american bases are secure and he’s begun moving north… at risk of exposing everything. but oh, he doesn’t care. tyrander’s ultimate plan is to have the anthos metakinos rule the world with humans as their personal slaves and the faunos wiped from the earth for good. the only people standing in his way are the faunos themselves and the few underground rebellions, started by the anthos against his dictatorship.

»as his empire closes in, you better pray for your life, little humans. you better pray for something to happen, and soon… unless, of course, you want to go from the top of the food chain to the bottom.

sherrilyn Kenyon, admittedly, is love in a box wrapped in chocolate and so are her dark-hunters. Man, oh man, if I had one of those to come home to every night. *pant pant*

ANYHOWLS! I think you should check out sweetestPOISON. We’ve got vampires! Two different classes of them. You can either suck the life out of your neighbor’s pet German shepherd, or you can suck the life out of your neighbor! The choices are limitless. And they explode when sunlight touches them…..okay, not explode explode. But they do die. Or, if you’re feeling like playing a regular old human, you’re welcomed to. Humans range from slayers, to blood dolls, to just the regular old ones who know nothing at all about the vampires living down the block in the huge ass mansion.

You don’t have to hack out one thousand words a post, believe me I don’t expect it, but the minimum is three paragraphs. Not bad, eh? And we are an intermediate to advanced site as well. AND you can do R-rated stuff until your heart leaks outta your ears. Just mark the topic, yeah?

Most our members check in every day and I, myself, don’t usually leave from in front of my computer unless my mom thinks I’m getting pale and needs to remind me what the sun looks/feels like. I think that’s all. We do have canon characters and the subplots are being worked on as I type this. Any questions, pop by the cbox and we’ll be sure to get back to you. With that, here’s the advert. Hope you find what you’re looking for~!

“It doesn’t mean that we can’t choose to rise above –
to conquer the boundaries of a destiny that none of us wanted.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crimson orbs peered out through the cascading darkness as he emerged from the shadows, his pale hands outstretched before him as he lured his prey into his dark embrace. The moon hung high within the heavens, its tranquil glow radiating down to the world beneath it and reflecting off of his pale skin as he beckoned the woman into his arms. She was beautiful. She was dressed in a tight fitting dress which accentuated her perfect curves, different articles of jewelry scattered about her being. She stood fairly tall, perfect black hair flowing down and around her shoulders, as if framing her perfect face; eyes, nose and mouth. None of these aspects were flawed in any way. Not too big, nor too small, not crooked, nor offset. It was as though she had been favored by some form of deity; which ever preferred, in every single way…

However it was what was in her eyes that had interested Benjamin. He had encountered many flawless women in his many years of life, so that little fact had not drawn out his interests so much. What had drawn Benjamin to this woman was the distraught, hopeless expression she held in those dull blue orbs of hers. She was near perfection, but despite that, the look in her eyes showed just how much she detested her existence. It was truly miraculous the things one noticed about another when they just took the time to look.

His arms closed around her waist as she rested her head on his shoulder. Her pained eyes stared off into the darkness, though they were attracted by nothing. She was in a trance-like state that Benjamin had placed upon her. She did not object or resist his touch in any way, and Benjamin raised his pale hand to her face, running his fingertips along her tanned cheek as her arms moved around him. His other hand moved to pull back her hair, exposing her beautiful neck. He bit his lower lip in anticipation as she held onto him. Her pulse echoed in his mind as he gazed at his target. He could feel it. He could hear it. The blood which flowed through her veins by the constant, rhythmic contractions of her broken heart. He leaned forward, pressing himself into her bared neck as she voluntarily leaned her head off to the side. His cool lips kissed her, nipped at her, and finally bit her.

His fangs plunged into her fragile flesh, piercing her jugular and eagerly swallowing the metallic tasting substance as it freely flowed into his mouth. The woman didn’t flinch. She didn’t react at all for that matter. She remained silent and docile; her head perched on his shoulder as he continued to feed on her. He greedily consumed the woman’s blood, her plasma, her life. Her grip around his waist weakened as he gorged on her blood like a gluttonous beast, and finally there was nothing left of her grip at all. Her hands dropped limply to her sides and her knees buckled, standing only due to the powerful grip Benjamin’s single arm still held around her slender waist. He released her once he finished draining her of a majority of her blood, her body falling to the dirtied ground beneath them.

Now, as she lay dead before him, her perfection did not falter or waver in the least. The healthy peach color she held in her cheeks faded away until her tone matched that of Benjamin’s paper white complexion. She was like a porcelain doll, and now, within those dead eyes, all feelings of grief and sorrow evaporated. Of course, he had not killed the girl out of pity. What was once his heart had died long ago, and any such feelings along with it. He was a predator now. No more, no less.

He emerged from the alleyway, the bright streetlights stinging his sensitive eyes. He cursed under his breath, so high from the rush of the hunt that he didn’t ready himself for the momentary shock. He sighed, raising his hands and rubbing his eyes in irritation until the stinging sensation subsided. The body remained deep in the alleyway, hidden amongst the garbage and shadows. He, unlike his clan-mates, was not a messy eater.

Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.

In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.

You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.

Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.

It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.

What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?

Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.

Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.

Welcome to the Steampunk world of Legend Makers.

The former King was lately found to have died of natural causes at the age of 35. Predicted cause of death was heart failure. Unknown to most, the result of his kingship's death was from a large quantity of Foxglove in his soup, which in small doses is classed as a drug used to aid those with weak hearts, yet large doses can prove fatal.

Following the death of the King, his child Alexander the III has taken up the role of monarch at the young age of 7 years old. Due to his age and inexperience, the Church has offered their services in helping run the Kingdom temporally until his 16th birthday when he can take his rightful position in the political world, seeing as his knowledge of the political world and faith will be up to acceptable standards.

Unknown to the public, the Church has lead the continent for the past 100 years by pulling such stunts similar to this one:

Monarchs have been used as political puppets, to be used when useful and discarded when posing a threat, much like the former king Alfred the IV. His Rule was cut shot due to a few outcries on his half against the Churches current place in the political world, (unaware, every decision he ever took as King was moulded by the Churches very hands). This lead to a momentary laps in the peoples respect for the Church. The Puppets strings were quickly cut away, opening a position for a new monarch, a new face for the church to hide there scheming behind.

Description: It's 2008 and vampires and lycanthropes alike are legalized citizens of the United States, recognized as more than monsters and endowed with their own rights. But that doesn't mean everything is okay.

New Orleans is slowly but surely recovering from Hurricane Katrina. A city known for chaos, it is finally getting back on its feet thanks in part to its were community. But that isn't to say it's safe.

Hounding The Moon focuses on a city that's been controlled by shapeshifters for the better part of a century. Things change, though. Discrimination is never far, and with it the possibility of the day-to-day world coming down on you. The threat of a takeover looms on the horizon -- the vampires want their city back -- and out there in the swamps, someone is watching, and waiting.

Requirements: Hounding The Moon is an 18+ game which is focused predominantly between instant messaging (AIM) and message board role-play. The primary character influence in-game are currently lycanthropes (prone to change as the story progresses), but we are also looking for people to play the human variety as well: normal folks, animators, witches, psychics, RPIT officers, etc.

We are not currently accepting applications for vampires, but that will change once the game gets off its feet and the game-wide storyline progresses.
