Well, have I got a home for you ;)

| Genre: I’ve recently become interested in boarding school and real life RPGs. Please don’t give me fantasy or HPs. Sorry, but I’ve seen too much of those.. |
Check. Real Life Urban, set in New York City. Nothing magical, fantastical, or even too weird about it (unless you count the streakers)

| Difficulty: I really don’t know where I stand anymore, given my two years hiatus. I guess beginner to intermediate would do. : ) |
Yeah, I don't know where we stand either, somewhere between "Can barely hold a pen" through roughly Hemingway.

Type(s) of Creature(s): Humans please. Preferred Rating: Any. =p |
Humans, check. Nothing but except for pets. Rating: Rough PG-13 on the general board, anything goes on the private boards.

| Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I really want a home, I place where I wouldn’t be lost in the crowd, and I want something that actually lasts. I’ve seen a lot of great RPGs but they’re all dead. =’c |
We are home to about 35 unique writers. 7-8 of those are with us nightly in the chat. More than that post every single day at least once. We're big(ish), but insanely close-knit and friendly. Also, we've been this way for more than two years, and I just reupped my hosting. We're not going anywhere fast.

| Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Present or Future. |
This is the only slight difference. We're in the near past. 1996, to be exact. But come see anyway. Look below for my little blurb and the link.

| Other Notes: Everyone lurves a great skin! = ) |
Indeed, they do. And I love my skin a lot. it's blue and sparkly.
We started in Rent fandom, post canon, but in the past two years, we've developed into an RL game based in New York which happens to have the canons from that fandom running about. . . You don't need to know a thing about the musical or the movie, since the characters are just characters, nothing more. We're grown up, decent writers, and friendly as can be. Have a look. The banner in my sig's the link.

You're living in America at the end of the millennia. . . and you're not alone. Alphabet City We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either. Other notes:Based on the Broadway musical RENT, set post-canon, though slightly AU to keep Angel alive. We have evolved and changed over the past two years from a fandom RP to a RL RP with some fandom characters. We are lucky to have a great group of OCs who are keeping the plot moving and changing quickly, and we always welcome new writers and OCs with open arms. We also have a brand new board! It's pretty and blue and still has that new board smell!! Come see. It's pwetty!!!

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.
Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.
But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

2013.
What an unlucky number.
"My name? Oh... it's not really safe to say now, is it? Sorry. But it's best to stay anonymous
when you're talking about things like this; particularly as my house was broken into last week.
I'm not feeling sorry for myself, not by far; it happened to my friend too. The crime rate started
to shoot up here in London in about 2010 and it just kept going. The authorities can't really
handle it. Why don't we move? Because it's the same everywhere else; London just happens to
be where I stay. So many people are mugged near me now and there was even a murder only
five minutes from where I stay. It's unsafe and I can't even let my kids out of the house. I mean,
there was once a time where I could stroll down the street without clutching my kids' hands and
holding my handbag tight to my chest in case someone should try and grab it."
Welcome to London.
Your own personal hell.
Everyone's own personal hell.
Imagine crime shooting up to a ridiculous level. Imagine being
afraid to walk down the street. Imagine the breaking of the law
around you every day. Imagine the authorities losing control.
Imagine the punk movement's utter dream and your worst nightmare.
You my friend, are imagining 2013.
Bullets In The Back is a hopefully successful attempt at a crime RPG
where crime actually does happen and the events actually are realistic
for the future but pretty horrific. The roleplay is advanced and we are
an originals only roleplay, believing in true freedom with characters.
We are R-rated so be sure you can handle violence. Hope to see you there!
This RPG is beginner-friendly, a human RPG, and in the present. It'd be a great fit for you:
after the success of the real world, mtv has decided to do something new, something huge! so the producers got together, and soon one of the producers revealed that he had been cheating on his wife, and they were going through a divorce. this confession led to the new show. "that's a great idea! the show could be called tell me your secrets!" at first, no one really liked the idea, because it was too big, but soon everyone knew it was going to be a huge hit. the producers sent some people out to every state in the united states, and hold autions for the new show. soon, they found people, and the show was soon made. the show was set to be made in los angeles, were they built a huge mansion, and called it the secret chamber. they did give credit to the people working with harry potter for the name, of course. so, now, everyone's in this huge house. boys and girls. oh, my bad, men and women. they are in this huge house. there's going to be some fights and even some romance. but everyone in america is wanting these people to
*tell me your secrets

THE PEOPLE I'VE MET are the wonders of my world there's a place where people dream big beneath the twinkling stars of the night sky. a majority of these people have spent their lives in a small town, sprawled out on the grass making plans for a better life. plans to move to the larger cities and escape the sometimes constricting comfort of small town life. many of those who have left have returned, finding the detachment from their extended family too much to bear. others have seemingly disappeared forever. either way, the small midwestern town of laurel, missouri offers much more than any big city ever could: that close knit, hometown familiarity.
the recent death of one lydia mae ogden, an elderly woman known to all of laurel, has brought in the faces of those who left the small town behind. ms. ogden was the matriarch of all of locust and what locals would call a stand-up woman; she acted as a sunday school teacher, local volunteer, and all around kind mother to all of the generations of laurel. those who have left have come back to not only face her death, but also to answer to the families left behind. for those left in the dust, laurel isn't about polluted air or the sound of horns in the night. it's about learning to live, learning to love, instilling morals, and family. most importantly it's about the hometown glory that small town folks have learned since birth.MEMORIES ARE FRESH ROUND MY HOMETOWN? |

In a city that doesn’t sleepMost people tend to tread around certain people in their neighbourhoods, not living too closely with each other. Other’s couldn’t give a damn and will live with whoever they have to for things to run smoothly.
In a city as big as New York, you can imagine how high the crime rates should be; but in one certain parts of the city, they seem to be lowering dramatically. Is that because of the amazing police work being carried out? Or are people just too afraid to report a crime nowadays?
Rumour has it that there are a few in this small part of Manhattan who live above the law; and have many members of the police along with other civil servants, prosecutors, judges, jurors on their payroll.
Not everyone takes too kindly to the cash handouts from these petty crooks, and choose to deliver the police work that they swore to in the very beginning. Once they swear to uphold to law by any means necessary, they tend to stick to it. However tempting the gifts from the lowlifes of this city may be, they keep out of it and do the work which is expected of them
