Title: I Could Be Jumping The Gun
Description: I'm slightly picky...

Luke - July 26, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
Genre: Fantasy/Fighting
Difficulty: Semi Literate (medium, I guess...)
Type(s) of Creature(s): About any mythical creature is fine.
Preferred Rating: no higher than PG -13 (*Is not really a big fan of excessive swearing*)
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: anything from 20 + is fine... but havng more than 1000 members might overwhelm me.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: eh... Doesn't matter so much

Other Notes: I would really love to join a forum with a Stats system. That is what I have endeavered for a long time...
1. Has to have stats and some sort of leveling system (is a must)
2. it's allowed to be complicated and have certain factors you must apply(just not overly so, but if you think I might like it, let me see it)
3. It has to be a story line I can easily find a groove to enter in. I don't like feeling out of place
4. Heck, if it's a real world-travel-to-fantasy-land thing, I'd like that too.
5. When I say semi literate, I don't want a 200 word minimum limit... I'm not quite ready to make that jump... 50 is somewhat hard for me to manage...
6. Custom races possibly? (Not that I might end up making one... just a possibility I'm looking for though)

I am not wicked awesome with the whole stats thing so I am not sure how many of your wants this board will fulfill. Its a D&D world board, and its brand spanking new (so new the owner hasn't found a skin yet... I am working on him!)

Anyhoo, it has stats, I am not sure about leveling up I assume so though, butwhen he tried explaining it to me I got all confuzzled. :p

Hi!
I am not sure that TSH is what you are looking for. There are 49 registered members, about 20 people with a few extra accounts. We don't really have "mythical creatures" unless you count the few vampires, and the fact that the site is based on mutants... though we do allow our mutants to have ANY ability they want... unless its like mind control... so many people have it so that their mutant turns into a mythical creature.

We do though have a Point System! When a thread is complete an admin goes through and rates the amount/quality of the posts and comes up with a amount of points that that character gets. With these points the character can enhance an existing ability get a a new one... or something else... each thing is a different amount of points. Sadly though our site is rated R. Not because of sex or language, but because of violence. We have an abundance of people who simply adore fighting in character, but that is very easy to waylaid if you want to!

THE SAFE HOUSE

In a world ruled by everyday run of the mill people, a new breed of 'humans' have arrived. Most believe that these so called 'mutants' are simply humans who are sick. Which is, essentially true.

In the early twenty-first century (2015 to be exact) a scientist in pursuit of a cure for cancer discovered, instead, a serum that mutated a persons genes. It cured cancer alright, but the side effects were major, and quite unforgivable. Unfortunately they didn't discover this until they had run a couple rounds of tests. It took a while for the genes to multiply. And so the first generation of mutants were born.

Unfortunately the mutation caused great strain on their bodies. Most mutants only lasted about a year with their new 'powers'. The company was sued by so many people that they went out of business not long after the first person died of it. And the serum was lost forever. Even the creator died after a vengeful relative injected him with the serum and let him die of the effects.

At first the loss of this failed experiment seemed more of a blessing. That is, until it was discovered that others could be infected. Usually it took blood getting into a persons bodily fluids to do it. But some, those who were closest to death, could transmit with even the touch of a hand.

And then, of course, there were those that didn't die. If they survived the first year, they were homefree and they lived out their lives with their powers, although they were still contagious through the blood.

But now everyone was fearful of this new disease. How did they know if they would survive the first year or if they would be the ones to die? The government decided to act on these fears and a special task force was created to rid the earth of every 'mutant' in the hopes that the disease would die out with them.

Unfortunately, these 'mutants' still consider themselves human. After all, what did they do other than survive a deadly disease. It's not like they were really a danger. Not as long as they didn't start bleeding all over the place. But most were hesitant to use their new powers against the humans. Probably because they believed that this would prove them right. So instead, most went into hiding. Around the world more and more 'Safe Houses' were set up for the 'mutants' to go to, whether they had survived or whether they were dying. It was the only place that the 'mutants' felt safe anymore.

Our story is set in Calgary, Alberta in Canada where summer is mild and winter is cold. Don't forget your parkas. the year is now 2018, three years after the initial release of the 'miracle drug.' More than three quarters of the world's mutants have been wiped out so far. Are you going to survive? Or become a statistic?

Okay we've got most of that and we have a level system for magic and steamskills so hopefully our site will intrest you :D

Welcome to the Steampunk world of Legend Makers.

The former King was lately found to have died of natural causes at the age of 35. Predicted cause of death was heart failure. Unknown to most, the result of his kingship's death was from a large quantity of Foxglove in his soup, which in small doses is classed as a drug used to aid those with weak hearts, yet large doses can prove fatal.

Following the death of the King, his child Alexander the III has taken up the role of monarch at the young age of 7 years old. Due to his age and inexperience, the Church has offered their services in helping run the Kingdom temporally until his 16th birthday when he can take his rightful position in the political world, seeing as his knowledge of the political world and faith will be up to acceptable standards.

Unknown to the public, the Church has lead the continent for the past 100 years by pulling such stunts similar to this one:

Monarchs have been used as political puppets, to be used when useful and discarded when posing a threat, much like the former king Alfred the IV. His Rule was cut shot due to a few outcries on his half against the Churches current place in the political world, (unaware, every decision he ever took as King was moulded by the Churches very hands). This lead to a momentary laps in the peoples respect for the Church. The Puppets strings were quickly cut away, opening a position for a new monarch, a new face for the church to hide there scheming behind.

Well, I thank you guys for filling me with interest. While it is interesting, it's still not quite what I'm looking for... and it has nothing to do with the way you guys work things, don't worry.
