i'd like some crit. on my site, [link removed, check sig], because it tends to get ignored, so i've stopped advertising for a while to see why no one bothers about it, or if they do, they tend to leave in the middle of a thread shortly thereafter.

we're currently getting the new skin finalized, so aside from the winter theme that we left far too long due ot RL, what can if change to make people more interested?

Well, I really think you need to give more information on your index page. I'm not given any information on what it's about. I don't know who staff are. I have no clue, really, about anything! Your heading gives enough information to current members, not new members. You give absolutely no information on what your board is about whatsoever anywhere.

I also think there is a bit of inconsistency in there. Forums are either properly capped, and some are all in lowercase. Same thing with forum descriptions. If you are going to capitalize the beginning of forums, you should do it with all of them (< yes, I am extremely nit-picky XD) You also have spelling mistakes & grammer errors in your forum descriptions, which sends a bad message for a board who wants to improve people's writing.

I think you need to polish up your role playing areas. I suggest that you go along with how RPG-D's forum archive is set up. Your role play areas seem...unorganized, honestly. You could put all of those forums in one category, rather than splitting them up into genres. It just overwhelms guests with how many there are, rather than putting them together.

Really, I think you just need to go through and polish your forum and add more information on what your board is about.

If I was looking for a forum, I'd instantly close the tab, because the welcome table is so obnoxiously large and cluttered.

Also, your forum was beeping at me. I sat there for a short while trying to figure out what it was...until I scrolled to the very bottom. Stupid chat thing.

well, what do you mean by obnoxiously large? it'd just be arranged differently if it were a sidebar, and with no less sections, so i really am confused as to how it's obnoxious.
i'll go through and check the spelling/punctuation/grammar again, though, thanks. and i'll list who's the staff in the center box. as for condensing them all, i've considered it quite a few times, and asked my co-admins about it and members, and it got shot down, but i may go ahead with it anyway. what the board is about, well it's about rp'ing of course. do you mean like a mission statement or something?

It wasn't actual beeping. Just couldn't figure out a better word at the time to describe the noise. I guess 'blipping' would be a better word.

As for the welcome table, you just need to cut down on the height and width of it, as well as organize some elements better.

And Junebug means that s/he has no clue what your forum is about at first glance. Such as if it is a high school RP, or a horse farm RP, or a Naruto RP, or whatever other weirdo options there are out there.

I had to do quite a bit of scrolling down before anything jumped out at me and said, "Oh, this is what's going on here! Nice!"

Also, I noticed that the site itself looks a little bland. You'll want to take the time to find a custom graphics site if, like me, you're not artistically inclined and don't do well making images yoursef.

ok, i think i'll reduce the size of the links column, and i'm not sure what to do about the height, because it looks squashed if it's too short. do you know how to change the title bars' sizes? (like where it says 'welcome' etc.)

the skin is kind of in a stuck-between phase. but that should change soon.

this blasted c-box won't cooperate! i can't get it to thin down the top height and the entire width. >< :rawr: :angry:
