Title: Something That'll Last?
Description: Sorry, I'm a bit picky
SillyRiRi - July 23, 2008 09:12 AM (GMT)
Genre: I'm not fond of High-School, Super Rich Kids, or anything set too far into fandoms. Anything else is fine.
Difficulty: I'm not really sure which category I fall into here, so no preference
Type(s) of Creature(s): I don't really mind, but I would rather that vampires, werewolves and animals not be hugely dominant.
Preferred Rating: Not picky about this really.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I prefer smaller RPGs (although growth later obviously I can deal with) but preferably quite active. Less than 60ish members is the sort of thing I'm looking for.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Don't mind at all
Other Notes: I'm really just looking for a nice role-play I can fit into easily. Most important for me is probably a plot that effects most members while allowing them to have their own sub-plots, and something that will last. There's nothing I hate more than spending ages on an application, just to have everyone disappear a week later.
I'd also like to avoid rps that focus around angsty vampires, super-rich-and-beautiful teenagers, and anything set too far into a certain fandom. Inspired by something is fine, so long as a certain level of freedom is offered.
Keijukainen - July 23, 2008 10:48 AM (GMT)
I think you might find us interesting.
New members are love and we do our best to help them fit into things around the board. There's currently a lot of upheaval going on in Port Royal - which is carrying over in a lesser degree to Tortuga - and it's a perfect chance for opportunistic characters and plots to move in and set up. Plots are what you make them!
We might seem to be very slow with activity, but most of our members are either on summer holidays or working. Several members are on daily, even if they are unable to post. There is a Cbox at the bottom of the main page if you have any questions. I'm usually around in the mornings and afternoons and the admins are around frequently as well.

I don't really know if we fit at all, however... if you're looking for something that will last, I can at least offer that.
Tally is set in the Potterverse, but not affected by the books... so while we use JKR's world, you don't need to be a HP nut to get around. We have more than double the amount of members you specified, but that sort of tends to happen when you've been about for a bit. Tally turns two on August 6th, you can bet it's going to run for a long time yet... but if your main concern is being lost in a sea of members, we seem to have just that right amount where there's always something happening... but everyone still gets threads.
If this type of RP is your cup of tea, I strongly suggest you check Tally out... cause we're awesome, and we're not going anywhere any time soon.
forget the uplifting line,

To believe in an equal society.
Werewolf among us.
Vampires beside us.
Together in peace.
Werrant Pierce is the most influential Minister that Magical Education has ever had.
And he's only had the job two months.
Imagine a man so stuffed full of the old prejudices in a position powerful enough to do something about it.
Imagine being a werewolf, a vampire, or any other 'creature' in what you thought was a safe world.
Imagine that world turning against you - again.

To survive, you have to play the right cards to the Ministry.
You can't be friends with the devils they hunt.
Shut your mouth and play the game.
They're watching us entirely too closely.
But Tallygarunga will not be beaten.
It will not back down.
It will not be silenced.
Tallygarunga will fight.
Whatever the cost.

You will find that at TNR:
http://www.thenetherrealm.com/forum/Our plot is open to all characters and many members have their own sub plots too.
We are highly active, friendly and are set in a medieval fantasy original world. :D We have dedicated member s and staff and love welcoming new members.

I think you'd fit in nicely with us as well. We've been running for two years and two months by this point and show no signs of slowing down! We started in Rent fandom, post canon, but in the past two years, we've developed into an RL game based in New York which happens to have the canons from that fandom running about. . . You don't need to know a thing about the musical or the movie, since the characters are just characters, nothing more. We're grown up, decent writers, and friendly as can be. Have a look. The banner in my sig's the link.

You're living in America at the end of the millennia. . . and you're not alone. Alphabet City We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either. Other notes:Based on the Broadway musical RENT, set post-canon, though slightly AU to keep Angel alive. We have evolved and changed over the past two years from a fandom RP to a RL RP with some fandom characters. We are lucky to have a great group of OCs who are keeping the plot moving and changing quickly, and we always welcome new writers and OCs with open arms. We also have a brand new board! It's pretty and blue and still has that new board smell!! Come see. It's pwetty!!!

I'm being optimistic here...
You could give us a try. We're relatively new and are, unfortunately, having a slow start. So we'd love to have you. And there's probably a spot for your character(s). ^^

Yesterday I lost my closest friend
Yesterday I wanted time to end
I wonder if my heart will ever mend
I just let you slip awayIt was the good old days that you now pass by. Those days where you were friends with everyone and they were all friends with you. Where it didn’t matter whether they had it bad or perfect, whether they had money or not, whether they lived life in the rich neighborhood or with the rest of the world. Because they were your friends, and you weren’t gonna leave them behind if you had any say in the matter.
Maybe I'll never see you smile again
Maybe you thought that it was all pretend;
All these words that I could never say
I just let them slip awayThen came High School. It’s those years where it’s all about what you wear and where you shopped. You left your real friends for the crowd that you best fit in. Didn’t matter
who you wanted to be with, it was all about peer pressure. And if you didn’t fit in, you became a nobody. A wallflower with no friends at all. And there is no life without friends, right? Even if they get you into trouble more then you want to. They are your friends, right?
Why don't you hear me when I'm calling out to you
Why don't you listen when I try to make it through
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, you never know
Hold a little tighterOf course, you could always try to get back together with them when college came, right? They’d want you back, because you were best friends in the good old days. But the damage was done. You became a
somebody and they, a
nobody. And in the times we live in now, it’s all about that. Who you grew up as resulted in what you’d become. And that’s what happened, right? You became what you were
told to become. They became who they
wanted to become.
Maybe one day when I can move along
Maybe someday when you can hear this song
You won't let it slip awayBut, alas, here comes the real life. And there you are, stuck in the high end of the social status. Becoming something, sure, but not what
you wanted to be. You could’ve been anything, but you chose to do what they told you to do. And now it’s too late to make a difference, because you missed your chance. It could’ve been fame, it could’ve been passion. But you missed out on it. Missed out on it all.
And I'd wish the sun would never come
It's 4 AM and you are gone
I hope you know you're letting go
It's 4 AM and I'm aloneMaybe one day things can change. Maybe
you can be the one who makes a difference. Be the prep on the outside, but a true nerd on the inside and not be afraid to show it. Because that’s what will make all the difference. Being who
you want to be, rather than what you’re told to be. It could be a revolution. But who’s going to start the domino effect when it’s all pressure and no fun? Here, when it’s
4 AM forever...

4AM forEVER is a new small-town roleplay. We have an ever-growing supply of canons available, and are accepting originals. We also have many sub-plots, and have to option to roleplay in Cornwall or Charlottetown.
So come join in – your life in
Cornwall awaits you.
Clipsed - July 23, 2008 02:14 PM (GMT)
Technically, we're based on a fandom. We're also set long before the books on which the fandom is based, to allow for maximum member freedom. Theoretically, the information we provide is enough to get a newcomer by - or so I've been told - and in actuality, our members are more than happy to answer any questions you might have anyways ^^;;
| QUOTE |
200 years have passed since the immortals were sealed away. In the generations to follow, they exist only in tales to amuse the children of kingdoms such as Tortall. The country's capital, Corus, is filled with citizens from all walks of life, each living, from day to day, as well as they can manage - some more legally than others.
The palace is abuzz. Not only has one of the Conté princesses become betrothed, but her Carthaki fiancé has come to Corus – for all that the wedding is half a decade away. With him have come banquets, balls, a tournament, and scores of newcomers, from courtiers to slaves. Not all of the visitors, however, have arrived to wish the couple well; any good spy knows the best time to move in.
Too, mages bring bad news. Suggestions of a poor harvest come autumn leaves city residents unsure which would be worse: higher taxes in order to pay for food imports, or a winter starvation. With such uncertainty in the air, many have begun to turn to the Court of the Rogue for help – but at the moment, the Rogue isn’t the happiest of places, either.
Outwardly, the country is at peace. Inwardly, though, old prejudices die hard. While the war with the Yamani Islands has since ended, the Yamani who make their home in Corus still face residual bitterness, making a hard life even harder. Word of skirmishes along Tortall’s southern border reaching the streets has the potential to create another public enemy, Mithros slay any resident who suggests the true enemy might lie within the city’s walls.
In a place such as this, everything can change at a moment’s notice, and never shall any day be ordinary in CORUS

LOL. Let me guess, not a Twilight fan?
Never fear, I've actually never read the books.
In any case, Thiasa is here to stay. We've got a solid, committed member base; it's really easy to make subplots (we have two main plots, and you're free to add to those, too). You will, however, have to work around our site plot, which is pretty active: i.e. we have a war, and most of our players are involved there. (We also have a serf rebellion). There's more, but a great deal of it is up to the members. I think some of them have a plot to assassinate my character, but, er, I'm actually not sure! o_0
We're not a fandom; we're totally original historical 'fantasy' (in that it's alternate world, but we haven't got magic or anything). I recommend checking out the site information (you only really have to read the first post in each section; after that, we let members add as they desire, so some info gets--rather long!). We have two basic cultures, one Bronze Age and one more classically Medieval. At the moment, things are getting quite exciting, as the two main plots are really heating up. :)
It does look like we have a great many members (144) but that's because we have our members create separate accounts for their characters. We certainly don't have more than the 60 you've mentioned as ideal, and you'll find we're very welcoming to new members. Seriously. Stop by the cbox; you'll see.
We do hold ourselves to a high standard, writing-wise, but what does that mean? It means we want decent, believable, rounded characters (no Mary Sues here) and basically grammatical writing--we don't have much of a length standard at all (10 sentences, and that's negotiable).
Our members... let's see, I can't say enough god about them, but here goes... our members are a group of lovely, mature, caring people--we never have a moment of OOC drama. They're also able to add so-called 'canons' to our list, so that newcomers can join in with some relationship to an existing member, if desired.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM or IM me.
To find us, click on my signature or go to Thiasa.org. Best of luck with your search. :)

Hi SillyRiRi,
I think the Black Pullet would work for you.
The Black Pullet is an AU HP set in Magical Ireland in 1969. It's pretty loosely based on Harry Potter -- we don't follow any of the original story. We don't even have canons; we've simply borrowed the magic and ideas from HP. We have all original characters; three of them are werewolves but they interact as humans.
We have an evolving plot and a dark grimoire that is its own character. The political climate has gotten ugly and people are heading for our prison, Hackballs Cross (it's a foul, nasty place). Things are gearing up for dark times and no one knows where they're going to end up. Alternately, there are plenty of sub-plots and threads that are lighter in tone.
We say we're advanced but we don't get bent out of shape over some typos or patchy grammar. There is no set paragraph length (although we like to see at least two). We are ‘R’ rated, but sex threads are not on the main board and only the writers themselves can ever read them.
I'm not sure how many posts you consider active, but in the past four months our post average has been about 17 per day. We've been around for about three years now in various incarnations. This latest has been around since March.
Frankly, I think we have a lot going for us, but I believe that one of our strongest features is that we're a friendly, welcoming and open group. Feel free to ask any questions you might have in the c-box.
You can click on my signature to take you there. Thanks for giving us a look!

As to where we are now? I can't tell you. All I can say, is that whatever you guys did, you need to keep doing! We've got an army of mutant hybrids with us now, and we're ready to kick some Itex butt. The By-Half plan will NOT be put into action.

MelioraAdmin - July 23, 2008 04:10 PM (GMT)
-If you're a fan of classic fantasies, than Meliora might be perfect for you. It offers an unbelievable amount of freedom to get involved and be creative (a long list of different accepted races, various positions of power to obtain, and two site-wide plots that anyone can get involved in). The site-wide plots aren't totally up and running yet, but they're certainly on their way (a mages' guild and rebellion that will force everyone in Meliora to rethink their opinions on how Meliora should be governed).
-Vampires do exist in Meliora, but they're not your typical vamps and they aren't very common.
-We currently have about 20, very friendly members. Everyone at Meliora is extremely enthusiastic about it, so I'm not speaking on my own biased opinion alone when I say that it's a great site. ;)
-You don't need to worry about the place being abandoned. I've been there for three years, and even when almost everyone else left, I stayed. In May I took over management to bring it back, and so far my efforts are paying off. Even if everyone else leaves (I really don't think they will), I'll probably still be there.
. . .There Are Many Paths to Tread. . .In a land governed by royalty and divinity, how will you choose to live? Will you devote your life to your deity, serving them as a priest or priestess? Will you live independently, giving up the protection of the divine? Will you reside within one of the cities of the eight under the watchful eyes of the god you trust? Are you one of the extraordinary who can earn the right to share in the powers of the gods as a mage? There are many choices to be made, for in Meliora, all things are possible.
. . .The Power of the Eight. . .
Long ago there was a battle with the mighty Leviathon that changed Meliora forever. The greatest mages of this time joined their power to destroy the Leviathon, but paid a great price. They perished. Their power was lost, but the land was restored. Years later, individuals from across the land began displaying powers greater than those of the mages that restored Meliora. They became the eight deities of fire, water, earth, air, day, night, time and fate. Since then, some deities have come and gone, but the spirits of nature have chosen others to rise in their places. The Eight are the most powerful beings in Meliora. Your fate is in their hands.
. . . Nothing Lasts Forever. . .
Meliora has prospered for many years, but all good things must come to an end. The Leviathon proved that tragedy can strike when it is least expected. It is only a matter of time before peaceful Meliora is, once again, shaken to the core. Will you be the change you wish to see, or will you step back and watch as others control your destiny? Even the smallest person can change the course of the world. Every soul counts.

We're a fantasy game, though we don't have elves or "magic", with a medieval-esque setting. We do not have vampires or werewolves, and animals don't play a dominant role in our game. really, they don't play much of a role at all.
Since we've just re-opened this month, the member count is so far low, but growing. We're a steady community who welcomes all new members with as much help as we can give them, and we're not likely to close down any time soon.
Our, plot, however, is exactly what you asked for. Every character can, and in some way does, have a major role in the board wide plot, while sub/personal plots are more than welcome, since we all like to see what everyone is going to do with their characters.
----
This is not Earth. There is no savior here, and no one will bleed for your sins.
But they will bleed because of them. This is A Rage Against Godhood.
Welcome to the Isles of Shorelanei, a realm, a world, created by the torturer of the damned. Upon these shores many have come to rest; the lost seraph of heaven, the first murderer of man, and wandering demons of the abyss. Their children now populate the Isles. The Demon-Blooded, who were first born.
The Children of Caine, who came second.
The Celestial-Blooded, who were last to be created.
And the Half-Blooded, whose weak lines are a mockery to the pure of blood.
Yet these descendants are not as great as their forefathers. Petty jealousies and hate have harden their hearts against one another. And when the creator of the Isles is exiled by an ambitious schemer, their world became an ocean of strife and uncertainty. Every day brings new hardships and changes, every event affecting even the most distant of people.
Here, it is all a matter of perception. There is no way of telling which path is right and true. With only your heart, and perhaps your faith, to act as your compass, there is no knowing where you might be led. You can only hope that it is not astray and to the brink of total annihilation. Unless, of course, that’s where you want to go.
It is up to the people as a whole, and not a prophesized hero, to save their world from a bitter end, or destroy a new beginning. Can blood be put aside and these four lines join forces to make a stand against all odds in a world where gods wage war?
How will
you shape the future? After all, all beings were created with free will.

Have you ever wanted to be a spy? This might be the perfect rp for you because its something really new and the plotline is something rarely seen. So maybe you'll take intrest in us.
We have recently developed more importance in subplots and added more connection between the canons. So there is definately ways for you to interact with other members if you have absolutely no muse for an original.
We are also based a lot off original and canons, so we're a very open board just waiting for new people to join. We're all about making friends outside the RPing, so you'll definately have some laughs talking either in the cbox or on some other messenger. :) We're a tad new, but our activity is rather high with the amounts of members, so new members are a blessing ^-^
Hopefully i roleplay with you on our site. Hope to see you there ^-^

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.
Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.
But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

`This is such a quiet town Aphelion used to be a small, peaceful town, isolated from society at the top of the Ben Nevis Hill in western Scotland, and average in all of its aspects - except for the fact it sheltered, just outside its limits, the government's pride and joy in terms of scientific advancements: The Aphelion Nuclear Plant. Even during its first trial stages, the people carried on their lives normal, living in certainty that nothing would ever go wrong and that they would be perfectly exactly where they were. The children played in the school grounds, neighbours exchanged dinner recipes and workers commuted to work every morning. However, soon the day came when the town's peace and quiet was disrupted, as the siren rang in the Nuclear Plant, announcing something had gone wrong. Horribly wrong.
`We can hear your neuroses as they're creeping up your spine As one of the blast furnaces unexpectedly exploded, there was absolute panic in town. A few of the citizens managed to escape, but the great majority of the population stayed behind, only to meet their death - if not a much more terrible fate. Several of the houses in town had underground shelters instead of a basement in case an accident happened at the Plant, though even so the people weren't safe. The town would forever bear the marks left behind by that day, as would generations to come.
`Through your neutral pathways, it's not a pretty sound The citizens struggled to re-build their lives in the best way possible, even managing to form families amidst that chaos. As the genetically modified children grew, some of them realized they were different from the other citizens, and thus, from the rest of the world, and they should be kept separated from them. A secret.
`It can still be okay We can still be saved Curious eyes of people from all over the world who come to visit the mysterious ghost-town are times spotted, though never again outside the town limits. While the internal struggle continues, some fight to break free and others enforce the policy that none should leave. Will you ally with them or will you be just another wandering eye in Aphelion?

Not sure if this is for you based on the details you gave, but I figure you can read our blurb and decide! ^_^ Good luck!
The Abydos Quest is an advanced free-form role playing board for
writers interested in cooperative fantasy storywriting. There is a short application (post a writing sample for review - something from another board is perfect). No word minimums, shops, canons, or restrictions - write the stories you want and make the characters you want. The provided fantasy 'world' is extremely large, so there's lots of space for you to be creative!
- Relatively new board, and small community
- Only advanced writers accepted. Core members average 700-1500 words/post or more, with good depth, detail, spelling, and grammar (less is fine, this is just an idea of what we're like).
- All stories are original - there are no set plots or cannons. A world with geography has been established for your use, you can create what you will within that.
- The setting is fantasy - medieval with magic, dragons, knights, etc. Other races/species ok as long as they incorporate into the setting.
- Most content is PG/PG-13, but there are no word filters.
- Friendly, active staff who know how to run an RP board.
- Click here to check us out!

Want an active RPG where there are dedicated, literate posters?
Please check us out and see if you want to join! {log in to view}
Name of Board: Innocence Exposed

Location of Mini Banner: In the news scroll box
Link to profile on the Board: InnocenceRPG Catagory: Alternative School or Boarding School
Contact Details: Through the profile listed above, or through “Exposed”
Activity: Highly active and long-running
Difficulty: Intermediate+
Rating: PG-13 - R
Types of Characters/Creatures allowed: Humans
Time of where the RP is set in: Present
Plot/Story:The setting of this RPG is the school of Mount Horizon
(located near Vancouver, Canada), which is a boarding-type of school for troubled teens. The premise of this RPG comes from a show by the name of Higher Ground, starring Hayden Christensen and A.J. Cook. Though the show only went on for a year, there are many fans still out there, that are growing each passing year with the increasing popularity of the show's star.
In this RPG, we attempt to re-create the feel of the show, with the emotional drama, love-lives, and everyday real-life problems that the kids on the show faced. Students at Horizon deal with issues such as:
- Drug Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Verbal Abuse
- Self-Mutilation
- Eating Disorders
- Neglect
- Grief
- Abandonment
- Depression
- Etc.
Of course, most of the characters on the site are originals (not canons from the show), and it's not required to have watched the show to join the site at all. We're just basically using the premise/location of the show and have converted it into an rpg, which has proven successful so far.
Stats:The board's been up and running for almost three years now (the first site,
Healing Waters, ran for over a year, and this continuation site has been running for well over a year and a half). We curently have around 120-150 some characters on our board, and it's always active, with 10-12 people usually on throughout the night. This rpg is almost like an online home to many, and we don't plan on leaving anytime soon. And, unlike most high school rpgs, this rpg can be at a comfortable and active pace; it's definitely not rush-rush or dead at any time.
Also, unlike most rpg boards, this one will not end within a months time only for a new one to spring up in its place. Due to the success of the board’s lifeline and the dedication of its members and advanced writers, please only join the site if you’re thinking of giving us a chance and staying with us if you like the place.
About the School:Mount Horizon is basically located far away from the rest of civilization. The school is surrounded by a seemingly endless vast of forest and mountains, so it is quite secluded. There is a neighboring town close by, Agnes, where the locals live. Along with Horizon’s staff, there are also regular townies in the Agnes section of the board, so you can also just play a resident if you like. Also allowed are students, graduates, counselors, and just about any other type of (human) character you want to play.
As for the students, each one is placed into a group, and each group has two-three counselors who run it. The counselors may have one-on-one meetings with the kids in their group, hold group meetings or go out on a group hike (though it’s not required, and the last two don’t happen very frequently). Each group has their own cabins, for boys and girls respectively.
Other Notes:There are only basic guidelines to follow; we aren’t uberly strict on the board, but we feel that we’re running it well enough to have lasted this long and still have many of our original members with us.
It is not required to have watched Higher Ground to become a member of the board, just read the rules and guidelines!
For security reasons, we've made our rpg only viewable to members; so you must register an account and wait for validation in order to view the board (which won't take very long at all~).
If things are a bit over-packed, or even slow, within the next few weeks -- we have been putting together the 4th Annual Awards for the site, but please come by and feel free to join at any time :)

May have a look at Asion. It's low-magic (magic is uncommon to rare) medieval/fantasy. We've been around three years or so, but I've only been a co-admin for two. The board is pretty sedate and has a small, dedicated member base. Patience will serve you in good stead with us. XD
Anyhow. Glance through the "Before You Register" section and see if we look like fun to you. My co-admin and I are usually available for brainstorming via AIM.
Look forward to hearing from you if we catch your eye. ^^
Elenlond - July 24, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure Elenlond will interest you, but I figure it's worth a shot. We're an original medieval fantasy Rp, with active and very friendly members who are always willing to help out when they can. There isn't an actual site-wide plot, although with the creation of three new nations, there are plots within those that could quickly and easily become site-wide. I figure it's best to just take a quick look, though I can't guarantee anything. If not, good luck searching =)
Elenlond...
A land of mystery, beauty, and power.
In recent times there has been some upheaval as those of the free lands - known as both the Scattered and the Middle Isles - begin to fear the power that the deities exercise over the two main continents, Esiria and Soare. Although no god has endeavoured to conquer the free isles, the people still fear. And there is talk that some have formed groups in Esiria and Soare in support of removing the deities, those who invaded their homeland.
The deities did not choose Elenlond, although they certainly named it. After their original homeland, Mianor, imploded on itself and the world began to devour its own entity, the gods gathered as many of their surviving citizens as they could, pushing them through the largest of the rifts that had begun to form in Mianor. There they travelled, weary from their travels, uncertain of their future.
This time was known as The Great Migration.
It lasted for many weeks - perhaps even months; few kept journals of their journey, and many perished along the way - but eventually, there was an end in sight. The people of the old land plunged into the new and it was named Elenlond. Once they were settled, the people could only breathe:
Our Celestial Haven.
Elenlond has been around for several years, although it recently underwent renovations. Although we sport 60+ members, we are looking for active, dedicated people who will join and help activity to blossom. Our members are friendly, chatty, and we love new people. So, if you're interested, by all means join! We'd love to have you.
Danirper - July 24, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
We are a very active site, with a few new members every week. We are friendly and fun, we have many plots, canons, and ideas floating around. We are definitely worth a look around
Unsure if Little Jimmy is right for you?A small town with about 8,000 good hard working Southern folk in it. Football Nights are like a religious holiday here. The girls pretty themselves up for a wild night of partying and sex every Tuesday and Thursday. When Monday rolls around, the kids are caught skipping to hang out at Montana’s or City Limits. Sometimes, the braver ones dare to go to McDowell’s Hole.
Twenty years ago, a program was re-introduced into Little Jimmy's perfect world. Honky Tonk Angels. An association where they took young high school students who had found themselves in trouble with the law and the harsher ways of life out of NYC into the country. There the students were placed with foster families for the year as they worked with the kids to straighten out their lives. The program still thrives today with the children of the original lifers and angels. Unfortunately much like the Little Rock, Arkansas disaster some of the folks in Little Jimmy aren't so...
Welcoming. The older families in town aren’t so welcoming towards the newcomers as some nasty words have been flying back and forth. It seems the town’s secrets of racism and prejudice seem to be leaking out at every turn. A team of low-end FBI agents has come to Little Jimmy in hopes of keeping the peace. However, can years of hatred and prejudice slip away like the wind? Or will relationships be tested and lines crossed?
glassONION - July 25, 2008 10:35 AM (GMT)
AND WHERE HELL IS, THERE MUST WE EVER BE
ALL PLACES SHALL BE HELL THAT IS NOT HEAVEN.
WHY THIS IS HELL! NOR AM I OUT OF IT!
SO, LET'S SAY YOU'VE JUST DIED. YOU KNOW YOU DID, YOU CAN REMEMBER THE BLOOD OR THE PAIN OR WELL, HOWEVER IT IS THAT YOU JUST SO HAPPENED TO HAVE KICKED THE BUCKET, BUT THE THING IS, THE AFTERLIFE DOESN'T LOOK ALL THAT DIFFERENT FROM, SAY, ANY INCREDIBLY SHITTY LITTLE TOWN IN UPSTATE NEW YORK. BEFORE YOU GO THINKING YOU'VE GOTTEN STUCK IN SOME SORT OF PURGATORY THOUGH, DON'T WORRY, BECAUSE YOU SEE THOSE CHEERFUL PEOPLE ALL DRESSED IN BLACK CLOAKS? THEY'RE HERE TO INFORM YOU THAT THIS ISN'T PURGATORY! IT'S HELL'S WAITING ROOM! HELL'S GOTTEN A LITTLE FULL AT THE MOMENT, AND WHEN GOD CREATED HELL, HE HADN'T ANTICIPATED US HUMANS BEING SO INCREDIBLY SELFISH, SO HE DIDN'T MAKE IT QUITE AS ROOMY AS HEAVEN. WELL, GOD, THE POWERS THAT BE, WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE BELIEVING IN RIGHT NOW, HE AND LUCIFER ARE WORKING ON IT FOR YOU, SO FOR NOW, YOU HAVE TO SIT AND CHILL. APPARENTLY MAKING PITS OF FIRE AND HIRING DEMONS OUT TO RIP THE FLESH FROM YOUR BONES IS A TOUGH GIG.
SO, YOU'VE GOT A COUPLE YEARS TO KILL IN HELL'S EQUIVALENT OF A WAITING ROOM. WHAT DO YOU DO? WELL, YOU COULD GET A JOB. CRAPSHOOT OF A PIZZA JOINT DOWN THE ROAD SEEMS TO BE HIRING. OR YOU COULD MILL ABOUT AIMLESSLY CONTINUING TO BE AS USELESS AS YOU WERE BACK ON EARTH. EITHER WAY, YOU'RE STUCK HERE WITH HUNDREDS OF OTHER MISFITS THAT JUST COULDN'T QUITE GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER.
---
THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE TOLD WHEN YOU GET TO BRUGES, LIMBO, ANYWAY. SOLEMN REAPER TYPES BRING ALL THE LOST SOULS IN ON CITY BUSES, TELL 'EM TO GIVE IT A COUPLE YEARS AND HELL WILL HAVE A NICE TOASTY SPOT OPEN, BUT UNTIL THEN, BE GRATEFUL THAT THEY'VE BEEN ALLOWED TO CHILL. PUN INTENDED. THING IS, BRUGES IS NOT HELL'S WAITING ROOM, IT'S A JOKE BETWEEN GOD AND LUCIFER. GOD DECIDED PURGATORY WAS TOO EASY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PEOPLE KNEW THAT THEY WERE THERE JUST LONG ENOUGH TO PLAY NICE. SO HE REDECORATED WITH THE HELP OF LUCIFER, AND RENAMED PURGATORY BRUGES AFTER AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE THEY'D WATCHED TOGETHER ABOUT AN UNHAPPY HITMAN. BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT. BRUGES WAS SET UP SO THAT GOD COULD SEE IF ANYONE REALLY WANTED TO CHANGE, WOULD THEY GIVE UP THEIR HUMANITY AND SIMPLY GORGE THEMSELVES ON ALCOHOL AND DRUGS, DROWN THEIR SORROWS AS IT WERE? OR WOULD THEY TRY TO SHAPE UP, EVEN IF THEY WERE TOLD ALL HOPE WAS LOST? IT WAS A BETTER WAY TO TELL THE USELESS FROM THE USEFUL.
ALONG WITH THAT, GOD SENT DOWN SOME ANGELS TO HELP TEMPT SOULS HIS WAY, WHILE LUCIFER SENT UP SOME LUCKY DEMONS TO DO THE SAME. IT'S A LONG RUNNING GAME WITH LUCIFER AND GOD, WHO CAN WIN OVER THE MOST SOULS TO THEIR PART OF THE SPECTRUM. LUCIFER USES COOKIES TO TEMPT, AND GOD... HE CHEATS. HE USES PRETTY WINGED ANGELS OF THE OPPOSITE SEX BEHIND LUCIFER'S BACK. COURSE, HE'S GOD, SO HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS, RIGHT?
---
SO WHAT WILL IT BE? TRADE REASON IN FOR MADNESS? OR DO YOU STILL HAVE THAT LAST LITTLE BIT OF HOPE LEFT IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD THAT MAYBE GOD HASN'T FORGOTTEN YOU? REMEMBER, GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES. LUCIFER'S ALL ABOUT INSTANT GRATIFICATION AND ETERNAL DAMNATION. UP TO YOU.
'NO BRAVERY
LIFE SUCKS AND THEN YOU DIE. AND THEN IT STILL SUCKS.
A BS INTELLIGENCE PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH BANG!BANG! PRODUCTIONS.
*NOTE TO ALL RELIGIOUS FANATICS: NO OFFENSE MEANT BY ANYTHING. PLEASE HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR AND/OR FEEL FREE TO IGNORE US, BUT DON'T FLAME. PLEASE AND THANKS.

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.
In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.
You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.
Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.
It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.
What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?
Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.
Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.
Jay Serge - July 26, 2008 12:22 PM (GMT)
Well my site's freeform, so you can basically play any plot you want really but post add explains the political situation just so people know the background of the plot :D
Welcome to the Steampunk world of
Legend Makers.
The former King was lately found to have died of natural causes at the age of 35. Predicted cause of death was heart failure. Unknown to most, the result of his kingship's death was from a large quantity of Foxglove in his soup, which in small doses is classed as a drug used to aid those with weak hearts, yet large doses can prove fatal.
Following the death of the King, his child Alexander the III has taken up the role of monarch at the young age of 7 years old. Due to his age and inexperience, the Church has offered their services in helping run the Kingdom temporally until his 16th birthday when he can take his rightful position in the political world, seeing as his knowledge of the political world and faith will be up to acceptable standards.
Unknown to the public, the Church has lead the continent for the past 100 years by pulling such stunts similar to this one:
Monarchs have been used as political puppets, to be used when useful and discarded when posing a threat, much like the former king Alfred the IV. His Rule was cut shot due to a few outcries on his half against the Churches current place in the political world, (unaware, every decision he ever took as King was moulded by the Churches very hands). This lead to a momentary laps in the peoples respect for the Church. The Puppets strings were quickly cut away, opening a position for a new monarch, a new face for the church to hide there scheming behind.

Hey. Maybe you could give us a shot. Our plot affects all members at the moment, and we may be fandom, but anyone can join in whether they know the original story or not. Our members are friendly, and there are roughly 20 of us at the moment. Check us out, and if we're not what you're looking for, I understand. Good luck in the future. :)

A few short weeks after the siege at Jam Pony, the Transgenics are living freely. With their own fort and a bio-hazard sign to stop trespassers and the mobs, they can finally spend time in the light, lapping up the sun, or the life, they always wanted.
The scene is set for a happy life, unbroken by those who hunt them, but they know that can't last forever. As news spreads about the Transgenics and their nation, more and more angry citizens are getting involved. Transgenics from all over the country and cropping up and joining in the fight.
However, agencies sent to abolish them are depleting, as they realize the job is just too large.
Max is running the nation, with help from Alec and those others who stood by her. Just as things started to look up, their new world seems to have come falling down around them. What will they do now?
Their freedom will not come easily, but with the help of their friends new and old; the Transgenics will fight through to the end.

photo by: ©Mike Shaw PhotographySILENTvilledrama ~ love ~ greed ~ envy ~ jealousy ~ war . . . ENTERSilentville is a very diverse city.... always finding new things and even some old things as well. But everyone knows that no matter where you live there is going to be drama. Every city has it. There is the secret societies and yes there are a few here in Silentville, there are the cliques in highschool, the Soritories and Frats in the university, and so much more from gangs to family wars all still around. We just don't see them as easily as others do. But in the end most of us are willing to do whatever it takes to make it to the top or to get the guy or girl we always have been crushing on or to live in a life where things seem better. Well in Silentville almost everyone has some sort of drama going on. But the question is are you strong enough to make it through or not? |
Its not that active. I am hoping to figure out what the problem is soon. But I think its because I just don't have members that like to type a lot lol. But you are welcome to join. I am the main admin on the site.

Hey! We're a Second Generation Charmed RP, and guess what?! We did it right! No second group of Charmed Ones (Piper, Paige, Phoebe and Prue pre-death were the only ones!) and the original ones are gone! Wyatt is evil and the world has gone nuts! A warlock trying to become Source and good magick left without it's king allows for OCs to make A HUGE impact!
What a lot of people misunderstand about this format is that plot takes a bit of time, but it's dependant on the member going out and getting it. You can't just post in a plottage thread and get it in this format, but that's what makes it so great. You need to plan ahead, scheme and be manipulative! It's wonderful!
Well, if you EVER have a question, feel free to drop me a PM!!
It seems that whenever the world is finally spinning the way one desires it, something comes along and knocks it off course once again. For the Halliwell Sisters, the world had been spinning wonderfully for over twenty years. Their powers had become unmatched, even by the infamous King of Good Magick, and they alone had nearly purged the Underworld of magicks that were to be of a danger to their children. They each had three beautiful children to carry on the Warren blood and spread good magick. True these children held no special powers beyond that of their blood and they aren’t Charmed Ones or anything close, but they shouldn’t be counted out. They have something that the world has always been after. Something even good is after.
the book of shadows
Great power flows through those pages and the rights to claim it is solely yours would give you rights to the entire magickal world, or at least that’s what one mislead boy thought. Wyatt Halliwell was supposed to become the King of Good Magick, and though he was well on his way, the Elders gave him three hoops to leap through. The First Task; prove to three whitelighters that he had a mastery over his powers. This was easy for the powerful young man to complete, and the first hoop had been leapt through with ease. The Second Task; reach the age of thirty, a point at which the Elders believed he would be ready to receive their blessing. The Third and Final Task; have something to which he could prove his greatness. In this, the Elders meant only that he needed to commit some great good deed or prove he was truly good. To him, it meant getting something of great power. Though Excalibur, the sword he was to wield, was eventually to be under his control, he lost the ability to use it around the age of fifteen. The reasoning is still unknown, though many believe a new guardian has been born. With no other options, he turned to the infamous Book of Shadows.
He approached his mother, the matriarch of the Halliwell Line, and asked for the book. She refused to give all its power to one Halliwell and leave the others without it. Upset, enraged and confused, Wyatt left the manor and was found by a rather...dark man. The Oracle told him that if he was to remove his mother and her sisters from the world, that he would become the Patriarch and could thus imbue himself with the Book. That night, Wyatt returned to the manor and confronted his mother once more, begging her for the book. Her refusal caused a rage to burn within him, but yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He couldn’t kill Piper Halliwell; he couldn’t kill his mother. However, someone could. The Oracle arrived behind Piper and stabbed her, managing to avoid her detection.
the charmed circle was broken
His aunts, having been guided by a premonition of Phoebe, arrived to see their sister dead and the two drew a rather obvious conclusion; Wyatt had killed her. Paige sent a bolt of electricity that resembled that of the Elders toward her nephew who blocked the blast with a shield. Consumed by his own magick and rage, the boy threw an energy ball at his more passive aunt only to find a familiar figure in his life blocking the shot; his father. Leo had charged in front of the energy ball and died saving one of his charges. Phoebe, who didn’t have her physical strength about her at this age, rushed for the book while calling out the name of her husband. Coop arrived with Henry (the two had been working on convincing Henry Jr. to ask a girl out) only to find their deaths awaiting them. Henry tried to take down the boy and did so, but a mortal can only do so much against a witch. A blast of energy threw Henry back, breaking his neck and leaving his body lifeless. Paige tossed another blast of electricity toward her darkening nephew as she rushed toward her husband’s lifeless body. Her hands rested over him as she tried to heal him, but no magick came. There was no way to return this dead mortal.
Phoebe called out for her sister to start the spell as Coop used his powers to stop the wicked man. The two Halliwell witches both knew what spell they’d be calling on; the one they had used years and years ago to destroy one of the greatest evils ever known. However, the Oracle had different plans. His athemae found another sheath and Coop fell to the floor, dying at the hands of a rather wicked creature. Though the sisters had started the spell, Wyatt managed to end their lives as they tried to finish the spell. Emotionally destroyed, afraid to hurt their nephew and confused, the Charmed Ones fell and Wyatt took a leap into darkness.
the king has left
The magickal world is in shambles. Good and Evil have both suffered from this. Good magick no longer has a hero or a hope to turn to and Evil must suffer the burden of changing age old taboos about Warlocks and Demons. Killings have become a common thing as beings of darkness try to get enough power to challenge the Warlock King. Good beings are dying at a rate unseen in years and there’s little they can do without the infamous Charmed Ones running about. Mortals are still chugging along, but even they are starting to notice things are changing. The future is unclear and though we know that every hand will change the course of history, the hand that ends this chaos is still shrouded in darkness. It could be yours or that of your killer. Darkness is coming and the time of light has passed. Take a stance and get ready for a ride; no one is coming to save you this time.

Have you ever wanted to play god? Do pesky people annoy you so much you just want to kill them in a spectacular way? Well now you can! At Meddling Immortals, a literate RPG, we give you the chance to do just that. You can visit the towers of Jahata, the coral cities of the Mer, the steaming deserts of Gath, the eternal revelry of Silviv, and even some strange planes that defy imagination. And you can do it all without worrying about every robber or sword-swinging hero that comes along. If they annoy you, just kill them!
Why can you kill with such impunity, you ask? How? Because you are half-god, half mortal, that's why! As an immortal demi-god, you have power wizards dream of when smoking poppyseed oil. Not to mention that every human is NPCed. They're practically meant to be destroyed!
Let your dreams (yes, including your nightmares) come true at Meddling Immortals! |
It falls under all your criteria! Especially the "small" part. We have half a dozen quite active members, so there's a family atmosphere.
muggles and magic - July 29, 2008 04:37 PM (GMT)
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school of magic for those between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Thousands of students call this castle their second home, and with the extensive grounds, it is not hard to guess why. Some are returning, some are beholding it’s wonder for the first time, but all are still stunned by its high walls and sky skimming towers. However in all their souls they know one other thing that makes them so eager to reach the castle. It is now the safest place on earth. Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror has struck fear into the hearts of many, ripped families apart and is still spreading at an alarming rate. Almost every night the dreaded Dark Mark can be found hovering over a new dwelling and the violence is getting worse.
Everyday the newspapers are filled with more disappearances, more murders and more tales of horror and pain. Everyone clings to their loved ones in hopes of keeping them safe, some have even stopped their children returning to Hogwarts for fear they won’t be safe there either. Yet inside those high walls the teaching continues. The Staff are trying to make a special effort to run as normal but with more students receiving news of their parent’s deaths or kidnaps it is an up hill struggle. To everyone it seems every morning another black envelope is dropped into a lap. However there is one group of people not changed by the outside world, and intent on keeping things the same. The Marauders. Everyday it seems another stink bomb or minor explosion erupts in the corridors and the mood began to lighten in response. The halls of Hogwarts were once more filled with laughter and the happy chatter of teenage gossip as tension eased after a few weeks. The letters even seemed to stop for a few days at a time. The students in Hogwarts convinced themselves they were safe and focused more on their studies whilst their loved ones fought for their lives outside, after all it was hard to think of a war when an indoor fireworks display had just erupted in front of your eyes. But are they truly as safe as they think? It appeared not so when a scream rang through the air one night, cutting off after a few seconds. Staff and students alike sprung from their beds and raced towards the sound, only to be greeted with a sight that make most want to turn away and pretend it was a bad dream. A body in Hogwarts. It was a small girl, a first year they discovered later, a muggleborn that had been struck down with an Advada Kedavra curse. Terror once more spread and everyone was advised to travel in packs, to not be alone, for the Hogwarts body had a murderer in it’s midst. Despite an investigation the crime was never solved and this has made it all the worse. Now everyone of non-pureblood is terrified of being the next victim. No one is safe inside or out of those walls. Everyone is clinging to threads of hope that are disintegrating with everyday and even the light mood of the Marauder's can't completely ease the tension now. Someone will be next, the question is who?
