Title: New Home Needed For Character
Description: Please only post if interested in her

Tulojow Nagde - July 19, 2008 06:38 AM (GMT)
Genre: Harry Potter - I suppose I'd look at others if, by changing the setting, the character would work
Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced - It has less to do with post length/literary skill and more to do with ability to respond to the unexpected. A pet peeve of mine is when people drop threads because it didn't go as they expected and they don't know how to respond. Just use creativity!
Type(s) of Creature(s): Meh - any, I just don't want to rp with slugs.
Preferred Rating: The less censorship the better - though I'll only post in mature topics with mature members
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I prefer some place that's easy to settle into - size is less important. But, once I get settle some place, I'm generally a avid (maybe rabid) poster. I do better with my daily fix, at least. And, most of the time, I'll have more than one character.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: I could adapt to any - if the character can fit, it's a go.

Other Notes: So, a couple of the sites I've been on I think have kicked the proverbial rp bucket. The bells are chiming and all that jazz so we are in search of a new home or two. Generally, I get dedicated to a site I join but I have, for better or worse, found that I loose interest in a site if I'm not able to play this character. It has nothing to do with the sites, really, just I'm attached to the character and if I find someplace I can play her, I'll gravitate to it. So, here's a link to a couple profiles of the character. One's trio time, one's marauder's time, one's possible future time. I'm, generally, fairly flexible in components of the history and can mold her/modify the history to make her work on a given site if the plot needs it.

I know most admins are turned off by the concept so, please don't post your ad if you'd never under any circumstances take a Voldie offspring. If your site is AU and has no Voldie but has a similar arch-nemesis that fills a similar role, I'd be open to that as well. During college, I got into studying holocaust/genocide studies and have always had a fascination with the nature/nuture concept and the grey areas of people's choices - which is the main draw to the character.

The more political the site, the better and, again, I'm open to necessary modifications or such if it would help make her fit. I'm always open to the idea of different spins.

So, if anyone thinks they'd have a spot for her, let me know!

I have a few characters like that, I enjoy exploring all the shades of grey, testing behaviour and peoples reactions to them. My interest is more psychologically focused (that being my area of study at Uni) and I do enjoy pushing the boundaries.

We have political intrigue, and if you are willing to RP fantasy-medieval then try TNR: http://www.thenetherrealm.com/forum/

Although we are not HP we do have schools of wizardry AND sorcery, we have great antagonists and awesome villains. I already play a 16 year old girl who is the daughter of a necromancer, and people have made children of the Djinn (gods of NR) too. One member made the daughter of Apollyon (Djinn of Death).

If the setting grabs you and you feel you can/want to modify her to a medieval setting I believe we have the means and plots and creativity to have a great time with her! We love twists and surprises, I manufacture many myself and we have some deranged and delightful characters that border on the extreme as well as run of the mill, and everything in between.

So yeah, we are not going anywhere, been around for almost two years and have regular posting, friendly members and a great atmosphere for writing. We love IC posting and have banter OOC as well as plotting should you desire it.

If NR is not for you, good luck with your search!

Hi Tulojow Nagde,

I know you recently posted an RP request and that RyanA answered it, but I'm assuming this is a different sort of request. I think the Black Pullet might work well for you. We are a AU Harry Potter RP but we are non-canon. Your character, should you choose to play her there, wouldn't be Voldemort's daughter (since he doesn't exist in our world), but we do have a resident bad guy (almost typed "a resident evil character" -- ha!). I see Mairead being part of the Brennan family. The Brennans are political, powerful and well-known for enforcing their will on others (to the others' detriment) so it would be interesting to see Mairead as a part of that family. Possibly she disagrees with their stance, or maybe she does agree with them and she has to deal with the fall out from the rest of the town because of it... there are a lot of ways you could spin it.

Anyway, that's up to you. Take a look at us and see if it might be a good fit for you. I definitely think it would be.

As I said, we are an AU HP and we are set in Magical Ireland in 1969. We have all original characters. We've simply borrowed the idea and the magic from the Harry Potter stories. We are made up of mostly humans but we're open to any creature from the HP world.

To address your other concerns, gosh, if we had someone drop a storyline just because it didn't go their way we wouldn't have any members left. We thrive on twists and swerves. We have an evolving plot and a dark grimoire that is its own character. The political climate has gotten ugly and people are heading for our prison, Hackballs Cross (it's a foul, nasty place). Things are gearing up for dark times and no one knows where they're going to end up. Alternately, there are plenty of sub-plots and threads that are of a more light-hearted nature.

We are advanced but without the attitude. We're not going to get bent out of shape over some typos or patchy grammar. We are ‘R’ rated, but sex threads are not on the main board and only the writers themselves can ever read them. Swearing is allowed, and my foul-mouth characters certainly appreciate that.

You'll find that we're a very welcoming and friendly group. The admins are great, helpful and willing to work with newcomers to help them fit into our world. Do check us out, and feel free to pop into the c-box if you have any questions.

You can click on my signature to take you there, or feel free to PM me here.

Thanks! I'll definitely take a look at both! Ryan and I have crossed paths a number of times and I vaguely remember looking into joining BP with a character at some point - though I don't remember the specifics. That might be something I'd definitely want to look into - seeing how she might fit in. Her history would make it interesting ot be set in Ireland. I might track one of you down at some point to talk about it.

But, I'd still be open to any others if they are out there. Anyone?

That's great! I appreciate your consideration. I'll be happy to discuss it further -- just PM me. :yellow:

Well, I've taken a look at Mairead and I have to say I'm very intrigued by her. Though I cannot offer you an HP site, I do have one that would certainly welcome your character. As to her being related to some sort of tyrant, I can't say for sure, since we haven't got a central 'bad guy' per se. But we do have a couple of good ol' murderers, might that suffice? XD

We're fairly knew, only about a month old, but we've got a handful of talented writers (who are coincidentally lovely people too), and we're all for the dark stuff. I'm a big fan of grey areas among morality/human nature. We've got characters with many shades, for certain.

The setting is an alternate universe Gothic Victorian France. We've got some canons available (from musicals) but the plot isn't centered around them. So don't let that deter you!

Here is our little add & link:

Venture into a world of musical obscurity...

...shadows decorate every corner, and line the faces of passer-bys. There have recently been a large handful of missing persons reports, leading the authorities to be especially watchful of criminal activity. The citizens of Paris brush this matter under their hats however. There are far more important things to think about. Such as the upcoming Masquerade ball at the Opéra Garnier...

Who will you be? The timid chorus girl, who enjoys tea and cakes on Sundays...The gloomy politician, who watches Paris go by from his penthouse window...The pragmatic barkeep who sees his patrons drink their cares away through hazy green bottles...Or another mysterious face who appears in the crowd among hundreds, with secret desires and talents yet to be extricated?

At the turn of the century, Bridgerton wasn't even on the map.
It wasn't world-renowned for its astounding size and lineup of overqualified teachers. In truth, it was just a man and his four students. But Bridgerton Magical Institute is proof that small steps are needed to reach that one, seemingly farfetched goal.

Taken over by Thomas Bridgerton, with his students Francesca St. Claire, Simon Thompson, William Sheffield, and Phillip Stirling, Bridgerton Magical Institute has grown over the decades, but its visions remain the same. It aims to hone wizards and witches’ magical capabilities to the fullest. Equipped with the best facilities and the best teachers, Bridgerton promises wizards and witches the best standards.
But it's tough, being a magic school in Hogwarts' backyard.
After all, how can a tiny, century-old little school compete with the one that housed the Boy Who Lived?

With the resignation of the headmaster who had been on the job for almost fifty years, Bridgerton Magical Institute had almost been pushed into obscurity. Its students? Alumni's children, whose parents have so much trust in its educational quality; those who had gone into hiding in search of someplace to stay without being found out; or simply Hogwarts rejects.

Can a new headmaster, his deputies, and the Bridgerton students keep their beloved school from dying?
Can't you see?

Everything's changing.

So come discover the magic.

BRIDGERTON MAGICAL INSTITUTE .

I think I may just have the role play for you. It is a Harry Potter Role play of sorts. It is actually instead of Hogwarts it is in Salem Witches Institute. This is almost like Hogwarts except an all girls school. But don't fret about this fact we are going to have dances with another boys school soon.

Salem Institute is a fun loving school that has just started about two weeks a go and already has quite a few characters yet it is an easy place to join and fit right in. Classes have just started so you can hop right in and not be far behind.

We have Quidditch, clubs, classes, quodpot for adult characters, and so much more. I think you will love it so come on and at least check it out :D

The url is http://z4.invisionfree.com/Salem_Institute/index.php
or you can click on my siggy and it will lead you right to it. I hope you come and take a look and if you have any questions you can always pm me :D

Glass-Shaped Walls

A literate and advanced community, Glass-Shaped Walls promotes both character development and camaraderie between our members.

We are a Harry Potter role play set in the Marauders’ seventh year. While the shadow that the Dark Lord casts over the wizarding world is ever-darkening, those students who are shielded from his wrath by Hogwarts feel even more vulnerable as their time to leave their sanctuary grows ever closer.

We have many sub-plots to add strife and elation between characters and several over-arching events, but for the most part follow the canon timeline. We have countless available canon characters and plenty of open roles for original characters, as well.

Come and join us—you wouldn’t want to miss out!

A Marauder Roleplay
Based on Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school of magic for those between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Thousands of students call this castle their second home, and with the extensive grounds, it is not hard to guess why. Some are returning, some are beholding it’s wonder for the first time, but all are still stunned by its high walls and sky skimming towers. However in all their souls they know one other thing that makes them so eager to reach the castle. It is now the safest place on earth. Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror has struck fear into the hearts of many, ripped families apart and is still spreading at an alarming rate. Almost every night the dreaded Dark Mark can be found hovering over a new dwelling and the violence is getting worse.

Everyday the newspapers are filled with more disappearances, more murders and more tales of horror and pain. Everyone clings to their loved ones in hopes of keeping them safe, some have even stopped their children returning to Hogwarts for fear they won’t be safe there either. Yet inside those high walls the teaching continues. The Staff are trying to make a special effort to run as normal but with more students receiving news of their parent’s deaths or kidnaps it is an up hill struggle. To everyone it seems every morning another black envelope is dropped into a lap. However there is one group of people not changed by the outside world, and intent on keeping things the same. The Marauders. Everyday it seems another stink bomb or minor explosion erupts in the corridors and the mood began to lighten in response. The halls of Hogwarts were once more filled with laughter and the happy chatter of teenage gossip as tension eased after a few weeks. The letters even seemed to stop for a few days at a time. The students in Hogwarts convinced themselves they were safe and focused more on their studies whilst their loved ones fought for their lives outside, after all it was hard to think of a war when an indoor fireworks display had just erupted in front of your eyes.

But are they truly as safe as they think? It appeared not so when a scream rang through the air one night, cutting off after a few seconds. Staff and students alike sprung from their beds and raced towards the sound, only to be greeted with a sight that make most want to turn away and pretend it was a bad dream. A body in Hogwarts. It was a small girl, a first year they discovered later, a muggleborn that had been struck down with an Advada Kedavra curse. Terror once more spread and everyone was advised to travel in packs, to not be alone, for the Hogwarts body had a murderer in it’s midst. Despite an investigation the crime was never solved and this has made it all the worse. Now everyone of non-pureblood is terrified of being the next victim. No one is safe inside or out of those walls. Everyone is clinging to threads of hope that are disintegrating with everyday and even the light mood of the Marauder's can't completely ease the tension now. Someone will be next, the question is who?
