Title: Golly Gee-willikers, Batman!
Description: dark knight / batman request

MARLENE - July 19, 2008 03:11 AM (GMT)
Genre: Dark Knight or Batman Original.
    Difficulty: Literate - Advanced.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Heros and Villians from the hit series.
    Preferred Rating: PG-13 to R.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I'm ok with just starting RP's, as well as bigger ones. I'm thinking somewhere between 5-50 active members? Anything bigger then that makes me nervous : P
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: While I would love for it to be an after RP of the movie, I'm ok with any Batman Universe RP.

Other Notes: So... I saw the movie after obsessing over it for months. What better way to celebrate a humongous hit then an RP? Nothing. <3

    Thanks everyone!

The Story
World War I was to be the war to end all wars. World War II wasn’t even viewed as a worldwide struggle until the United States entered it December 8, 1941. Even then the government heavily relied on beings that held enough power to level a tank without even batting a lash. Decades have passed since the United States managed to end the terrible war, the war that left everyone across the globe with a bitter taste in their mouth.

Yet, in a world that both condones and loathes those that are not exactly perceived as normal, the tension that seemed to always bubble beneath the surface finally found its way to the top. Nations across the globe were suddenly bearing arms, threatening a global meltdown if demands were not met. When the nuclear missiles were brought into the equation, everything seemed to turn against the people that inhabited this planet.

The United States, ever dominant in holding the reins as the world’s greatest Super Power, quickly called on the one group of people that could bring an end to the war that had already cost millions, if not billions, of lives: Superhumans.

Those gifted with special abilities that had either been feared or revered were suddenly asked to choose a side, to either use their abilities for the so-called greater good or to be considered a traitor. Many took up the role with pride, and thus The Untouchables were born. Public reaction was split; many supported the heroes, but a great majority resented them.

A year of bloodshed has passed, leaving the world struggling to shake off the dust of a war that seems to have left its mark on every single person in one way, shape, or form. Now, as the heroes return from a war that everyone would rather choose to deny, where will their lives go? They cannot simply pick up where they left off, as nothing seems to be the way that it was before World War III, the darkest battle that has ever shadowed the globe.

It is up you you to rebuild, to rehabilitate the world’s depleted sources. The time has come for The Untouchables to re-enter society and choose a stance in the battle that is already brewing. When the Turning of the World happens, which side will you be on?

Hi! I think I could have what you're looking for. I run an RPG set after Batman Begins. We started over a year ago though so we're not incorporating the events of TDK. There's about 20 players and it's pretty nice and active. As we are based on BB, rather than general comics, we do keep things a little more down to earth, no powers and such, but we are open to characters from the wider DCU.

Why So Serious?
The Dark Knight RPG.
We opened back in May, so we have a few things going on that didn't happen in the movie (because the movie wasn't out yet!), but we ARE going to have movie-based plots.

DC characters are welcomed, granted that they stay in Gotham.

-----------------------------

Hey, clowns.

Welcome to Gotham City. Just do as I say, and I'll have you rolling around in laughter soon enough. But first, let's have a little chat.

Gotham, if you didn't already know, is a crime-ridden city with a police force that'll throw you behind bars faster than you can let out a giggle. And with that Harvey Dent up for D.A., the number of opportunities to tell [perhaps the better word, in our case, would be "demonstrate"] jokes has gone on an extreme Weight-Watchers routine. But don't worry. If you follow my instructions to a 't', the police won't be the ones pestering you. Our main kill-joy is a man named Bat and his little entourage of Chickenboy and Bratgirl. Once I get myself out of this place, you can bet your bottom dollar that we'll be putting a smile on Bat's face. Haha, don't you love the sound of the gargled scream or a person who's ripped their fresh Glasgow at the seams?

You're probably wondering where I am and what my deal is, but there's method to the madness. My current residence is the lovely Arkham Asylum in a five-star looney suite equipped with padded walls and a bullet-proof glass panel. They don't make me wear the complimentary white jacket anymore.

Now, contrary to what you're probably thinking right now, I'm
not going to need your help getting out. I'm going to be let out. Impossible? Hardly. Just implausible, considering how the tables are turned against me. But trust me, kiddies, I could have escaped the jail cell that I previously called my home if I wanted to. Don't worry about how I'm going to get out. Everybody will know how I did it soon enough, and I want it to be a surprise.

What you're going to do for me now is await my arrival at Laff City. It's an old comedy venue that I've set us up in. It's a little small, but cozy. The dressing room is off limits, but please, help yourself to whatever other rooms you'd like. Oh, and I'd advise that you stay away from the grenades...Unless you have a wish of death-by-laughter. Ha ha!

If you don't already know where Laff City is, you're just not meant to be taking part in the execution of this joke. And unfortunately, if you're not behind it, then you're the target.

Be there, or miss out.

A young Bruce Wayne spent his adolescence and early adulthood traveling the world so he could hone his body and mind into the perfect fighting and investigative machine. But now as he returns to Gotham City, he must find a way to focus his passion and bring justice to his city- a city that has fallen into the darkness of evil. Fighting injustice as a costumed vigilante, we watch as he chooses a guise of a giant bat, using his own former fear to bring terror to those tormenting the citizens of a once great place. Few bonds along the way, respect both ways with lieutenant James Gordon, a twisted working relationship with the feisty Catwoman, all in the struggle to bring down the corruption infesting Gotham.
