Title: Something Different
Description: please try me

Ermine - July 16, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
Genre: Try me. I'm not too into high-fantasy, or really uber serious stuff. For fandoms? Superhero esque stuff or Harry Potter.
Difficulty: I'd love something original, but that isn't super strict and doesn't have a mile long application. Somewhere friendly, and open, and a community.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Humans, ZOMBIES, uhhh, anything?
Preferred Rating: Whatever
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Active enough for an admin to be on everyday, and at least 20 members? But not SALFKSDLFKSDf huge.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Any. I would LOVE a 60s themed one.

Other Notes: I really want a community. Somewhere fun, that's easy to fit in.

SmathNa - July 16, 2008 04:50 AM (GMT)
Genre: Fantasy (historical, really), but far from high fantasy. And we have a lot of humor and light stuff. I have a character who just told a whore he wanted a copy of the Bible as a sex toy; characters on the site also have standing permission to break his nose (they have fun with that one). And our cbox is just insane; there's really no other word for it...
Difficulty: We don't go for length. We go for realistic characters, and we have certain standards for grammar, character depth, etc. You'll find our posts range from a single paragraph (our minimum is ten sentences) to... really long. Me, I stick with shorter--it's more fun, and I think you can get just as much done.
Type(s) of Creature(s): Humans only.
Preferred Rating: PG-13, R with labeling.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Active, yes. I'm on every day, and I'm the root admin. We have 135 characters at last count, but many of our members have multiples. Maybe 30 members are super-active, and more are active on a part-time basis.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Medieval-ish, but not quite the typical medieval fantasy; I recommend reading the info.

Other Notes: We're definitely a community! If you're into zany 'your mom' jokes, don't take yourself seriously, and have a bit of a... vulgar... sense of humor, you'll fit in splendidly. :p

Feel free to PM or IM me if you've got questions.

Anyway, here's our ad. Good luck with your search!

Knights and Barbarians, Shamans and Soldiers, Warriors and Priests, Ladies and Whores...

Not enough? We've got more--many of them dependent on your imagination. If you're creative, a good writer, and willing to try something new--this is the site for you.

So just sit back, buckle in, and Prepare for War...

The Baskar call the pale-faced strangers interlopers. They call themselves Thiasans. And they're out to crush the so-called barbarian opposition once and for all in what promises to be a long and bloody war. Barbarians? Just because their warlords marry their own sisters and they worship the sun as a God? The Baskar hardly think so. No, it's the Thiasans who must be conquered, with their castles and manor-houses, their arrogant King and brutal soldiers... their cannons and iron swords...

Come to think of it, the Baskar wouldn't mind getting ahold of some of those superior weapons... illegal arms traders, you say? It doesn't hurt that some of the Baskar are willing to trade a plant called datura--a potent hallucinogen--in return.

Then there's the plot to kidnap and sacrifice the Thiasan King to appease the Baskari Sungod...

...a prospective Queen so ugly she's thrown the country into an uproar...

...and no heir to be seen, apart from the weak and diffident Prince Fergus, the King's younger brother.

Let's face it, we're in trouble.

Welcome to Thiasa.

And for those who've read this much of the ad, some Site Trivia:

-We've won RPG-D's Forum of the Week award--a fairly big deal, apparently.
-We have an amazing new feature, auxiliary characters.
-We had 30 members within a week of opening, and we're still growing (we now have over 100).
-We encourage original characters, as long as they fit into our world.
-We also have so-called 'canon' characters, mostly ones connected to characters we're already playing, and generally very broadly described--often, we won't even assign them a specific age.
-We never require that you use a certain play-by.
-'Thiasa' comes from a Greek word. Ten points if you get the reference.
-Thiasan culture is based on Medieval Italy and France, and Baskari culture is based on the Sioux and the Aztec. Animal spirits and human sacrifice--where can you go wrong?
-A bored college student made up most of the site information. It took longer to compile the information on the Baskar than it took her to write a term paper on the philosophy of consciousness.
-Our cbox is unfiltered. That's right, you can curse in it.
-Come on, you know you want to join now.

We have a superhero (X-Men) game. Slightly smaller than your preference at 17 members, but we're friendly and almost a family chatting and bantering behind the scenes. We also have an admin on everyday, often most of the day. If we sound like we might be of interest to you, come on by and check us out at X-Men: Eclipsing Binary

“We’re not what you think. Not all of us.”
“Tell that to the ones who did this to me.”

One man sees injustice and plans for war. Another sees intolerance and teaches peace.

One woman wears the face of a murdered man even as she plots to free his killer from prison. Another struggles against dreams of death and fire that threaten to consume everyone she loves.

One father labors ceaselessly to heal his son. Another transforms his into a weapon.

And, as an assassin vows revenge upon the mutilated body of his only child, a gentle soul is sent on a mission of death that will set the world ablaze.

"The war is coming, Charles, and I intend to fight it ...
by any means necessary."

"And I will always be there ... old friend."

X-Men: Eclipsing Binary is a PG-13 movieverse rpg beginning just before X2 and having a strong emphasis on writing, characterization, and plotting. We are canon-only, but accept x-characters from all three movies, including those appearing only in cameos or mentioned in the computer files.

Nothing fancy, but simple and, once we get a few members, fun.

Sit' Gijook Heixwaa Koo at Lateewa (Sitoola for short) is located a few miles from Juneau, Alaska in the Mendenhall Glacier, which means it is not a castle like Hogwarts. In fact, this isn't much like Hogwarts. Yes it is a wizarding school, but it's for America, including Squibs. Yes there are school houses, but there are five and are based differently. Yes there are classes for magic, but some are different. Yes there is a headmaster, but he, well, he hates kids. Yes muggles can't see us, but that's becuase we are hidden within the center of the glacier that spells death if muggles get that far. Yes there is a wizarding village not to far, but it is more like the ghetto with all the stealing, violence, and vandalizing that happens within it, and the headmaster sets up three-four trips a month (3rd years and up). Yes there are ghosts, well, more poltergeists and not every house has its own little ghosts.

We are not a Hogwarts-but-not site, but an AU HP site. NO Voldemort NO Harry Potter NO Death Eaters. But there is still a Hogwarts, we just can't know the location or to much about it. So, YOU CAN'T RP WITH A CANON CHARACTER FROM THE BOOKS. Simple right? Lets hope so...

ExpectoPatronum - July 16, 2008 05:39 AM (GMT)
This may not be quite what you're looking for because of the size of the site, but we're definitely friendly and open. Our rules look bigger than they actually are, and the application is really easy to do. I'm on every day and usually there for several hours even if there isn't any activity at the moment. We have plenty of open canon characters and we accept original characters. We are a Marauder's Era Harry Potter role-play with a twist that sends Hermione back in time. I hope you're interested. :]

The Second Chance

An age of darkness will come and go,
The people then will slowly grow,
The wise of the generation of the survivor
Will take her leave and turn back the hour.
Only she can fix the wrongs
Through the alliance of prongs.

Sighing heavily, the Headmaster lifted his head from his hands, looking at the crowd around him. A prophecy had just been delivered, one that could possibly change the entire world as they knew it… Blue eyes rested upon Professor McGonagall, a light smile coming to the man’s lips, “Professor… You know that it has to be her…It couldn’t be anyone else.” Minerva nodded. “The wisest of the generation of the survivor.” She agreed. “Minerva…Get Hermione.”

When a strange, new prophecy is brought to Dumbledore’s attention, it is clear what must be done. In an attempt to stop the war, Hermione Granger must be sent back in time to the Marauder’s Era to help the Marauders stop Voldemort. All of the Professors agreed that it had to be done, and with Hermione’s consent, they sent her on her way to the past with only a note from Dumbledore to Dumbledore. To save the world, Hermione will have to blend in with the other students, make friends with the Marauders, and keep her secrets to herself. Can she do it? Will Hermione be the second chance?

December, Esq - July 16, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
Difficulty: We're open for everyone. We stress having fun over writing hugely long applications. If you want to write tons for an application, I'm not stopping you, but it's definitely not a requirement. ;)
Type(s) of Creature(s): Zombies aren't allowed at this summer camp (though I do <3 zombies!). Humans only.
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: We're just starting, so we don't have 20 yet. However, since we just opened, I don't think we're doing too poorly.
Other Notes: Once again, we're just starting and building our community. However, I absolutely love boards with communities, so I'm definitely hoping that this board develops a strong one. Please, feel free to join us and help me build up a community. I would much appreciate it. :)

http://metamorphosisanxmenau95368.yuku.com/

Metamorphosis is a text-based play-by-post role-playing game for adults located on Yuku. The game takes place in an alternate X-Men/Marvel universe, featuring reinterpretations of canon characters. What if Logan was a woman? What if Marrow was in command of the X-Men? What if Magneto was Irish and a member of the IRA?

In the world of Metamorphosis, the existence of mutants has just been publicly acknowledged. Not everyone has met a mutant (that they are aware of) but it seems as if everyone has a friend who has a friend who says they know one. The general public is both curious and fearful. Mutants are usually secretive, not knowing how people will react to their genetic status.

Xavier's mansion is secretly the home of a small mutant paramilitary organization known as the X-Men. The X-Men are a highly trained covert strike force of men and women that protects mutants from violent persecution and battles anti-human mutants.

The Brotherhood of Mutants is led by Magneto under the legitimate guise of Magnus Enterprises. Erik Magnus is a powerful force in the business world. Magneto’s goal is nothing less than a new world order, a utopia where mutants rule and Homo sapiens serve, if they are allowed to exist at all. All those who are allied with him follow his vision.

The Hellfire Club is an exclusive private club for the very top layer of society, but rather well known to the public because of some high profile members. The legitimate, public side of the Hellfire Club is part country club, part athletic club, and part nightclub, but there is an illegitimate side as well, where just about anything goes.

Weapon X is a federally funded black ops agency publicly charged with the study of X-gene mutations and neutralizing dangerous mutants. In addition to a large research staff, mutant and human Agents staff the military division of the Program. Officially, they are a newly formed agency, but in actuality they have existed clandestinely for nearly three decades.

Metamorphosis has been going strong for more than four years. We offer exceptional writing, a gritty and interesting world to play in, and a laid back atmosphere. So pick one of your favorite canon characters, twist him or her into something different from their former selves, or create someone brand new and join us!

A lot has happened over the course of time, strength and growth clearly seen, as a new school year will inevitably bring more of the usual danger a resident of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters often faces. It seriously doesn’t help that Magneto‘s decision to open a new school of his own has seen many new mutants drawn to the Master of Magnetism's ideals. The Brotherhood Superiorum continues to grow strong, however, it's about to become no longer a school. Erik Magnus Lensherr cannot continue to inculcate his anti human ideals into the next generation if he has to constantly be looking after the duties being Principle entails!

No, it's time to simplify things so he can once again focus solely on the dream that mutants WILL one day reign supreme!

Who really wants to take sides though? Who really cares about either of their ideals? If that sounds like you, then DME is where you belong. Mana4X2's own concept created faction, Damien-Myne Enterprises, stretches over several cities, with its main office in New York City. Your boss is Colin Damien Myne, AKA Boilmet, founder and owner of this Freelance faction;; he offers you great accommodation, excellent pay, and the freedom to do whatever you want…

Cross him, though, and your life won’t be worth living! Boilmet will do whatever it takes to make sure nothing gets in the way of furthering his business… NOTHING, not even you.

And then there is talk that the FoH is working on something to eradicate mutant kind. Will they succeed?

Who knows, because only time will tell…

At the turn of the century, Bridgerton wasn't even on the map.
It wasn't world-renowned for its astounding size and lineup of overqualified teachers. In truth, it was just a man and his four students. But Bridgerton Magical Institute is proof that small steps are needed to reach that one, seemingly farfetched goal.

Taken over by Thomas Bridgerton, with his students Francesca St. Claire, Simon Thompson, William Sheffield, and Phillip Stirling, Bridgerton Magical Institute has grown over the decades, but its visions remain the same. It aims to hone wizards and witches’ magical capabilities to the fullest. Equipped with the best facilities and the best teachers, Bridgerton promises wizards and witches the best standards.
But it's tough, being a magic school in Hogwarts' backyard.
After all, how can a tiny, century-old little school compete with the one that housed the Boy Who Lived?

With the resignation of the headmaster who had been on the job for almost fifty years, Bridgerton Magical Institute had almost been pushed into obscurity. Its students? Alumni's children, whose parents have so much trust in its educational quality; those who had gone into hiding in search of someplace to stay without being found out; or simply Hogwarts rejects.

Can a new headmaster, his deputies, and the Bridgerton students keep their beloved school from dying?
Can't you see?

Everything's changing.

So come discover the magic.

BRIDGERTON MAGICAL INSTITUTE .

Have a look at us too. We started in Rent fandom, post canon, but in the past two years, we've developed into an RL game based in New York which happens to have the canons from that fandom running about. . . You don't need to know a thing about the musical or the movie, since the characters are just characters, nothing more. We're grown up, decent writers, and friendly as can be. Have a look. The banner in my sig's the link.

You're living in America at the end of the millennia. . . and you're not alone.
Alphabet City
We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either.
Other notes:Based on the Broadway musical RENT, set post-canon, though slightly AU to keep Angel alive. We have evolved and changed over the past two years from a fandom RP to a RL RP with some fandom characters.  We are lucky to have a great group of OCs who are keeping the plot moving and changing quickly, and we always welcome new writers and OCs with open arms.
We also have a brand new board!  It's pretty and blue and still has that new board smell!!  Come see.  It's pwetty!!!

SJWinchester - July 16, 2008 12:25 PM (GMT)
Being optimistic. Our main canon(s) is often referred to as a superhero. Our main appeal at the moment is our sense of community. You don't necessarily have to be a part of our 'fandom' to get the plot. You can even make yourself absent from it, and watch from afar, with other characters who aren't said 'hero' type people.

If you're interested, check us out. We don't bite. We make friends. :)

A few short weeks after the siege at Jam Pony, the Transgenics are living freely. With their own fort and a bio-hazard sign to stop trespassers and the mobs, they can finally spend time in the light, lapping up the sun, or the life, they always wanted.

The scene is set for a happy life, unbroken by those who hunt them, but they know that can't last forever. As news spreads about the Transgenics and their nation, more and more angry citizens are getting involved. Transgenics from all over the country and cropping up and joining in the fight.

However, agencies sent to abolish them are depleting, as they realize the job is just too large.

Max is running the nation, with help from Alec and those others who stood by her. Just as things started to look up, their new world seems to have come falling down around them. What will they do now?

Their freedom will not come easily, but with the help of their friends new and old; the Transgenics will fight through to the end.

Hi Ermine,

Except for the zombies, I think we fit the bill nicely.

The Black Pullet is an AU HP set in Magical Ireland in 1969. We are made up of humans and werewolves (and one half-goblin), but we are open to any creature in the HP world. We have no canons; we've simply borrowed the magic from HP. We have all original characters -- Harry et al. don't exist in our world.

We have an evolving plot and a dark grimoire that is its own character. The political climate has gotten ugly and people are heading for our prison, Hackballs Cross (it's a foul, nasty place). Alternately, there are plenty of sub-plots and threads that are of a more light-hearted nature. We have a school, Whispers Academy, which is currently out for the summer but will start up again in the fall. The school is there should you wish to role play that aspect but it is by no means a requirement.

We don't require lengthy applications. We simply want to know that you are comfortable with the world in which our RP exists.

Our admins are around every day. We are a very friendly and open group. Feel free to ask questions of anyone in the c-box or by PMing an admin. You may also PM me here. We also have OOC and IC posts which contribute to our sense of community.

You can click on my signature to take you there. Thanks for giving us a look!

Three Wishes is a steampunk game inspired by Asian mythologies. "Steampunk" basically means that any kind of mid-fantasy or sci-fi concept is an awesome go; we don't presently have any zombies, but now that I'm thinking about it a necromancer character would not at all be out of place. :)

The plot is about the clashes between modernity and tradition, and where the happy balance is between maintaining the status quo and moving one's civilization into the future, between personal freedoms and the good of the many.

The sociofascist Imperial Regency has declared anything bad for you to be illegal, and that includes worship of the Beast Gods; unfortunately, since the world exists solely through the strength and protection of the gods, losing their worshipers is proving a challenge.

I got one for you to try out. Our apps aren't too long now but I am in the process of revamping them. Only two are actually done ay the moment tho, lol. We aren't high fantasy - I find we are a bit heroe-esque with a bit of fantasy and sci-fi mixed in. Have a look, maybe you'll like! *crosses fingers*

The fire crackles as the dragons wake, finding themselves in a new world with a war on their hands. Their fallen comrades lie in ruin and they let their pain loose with a roar of anguish. Releasing their vengeance, they lay claim to a world that was once held with absolute certainty. But they are not the enemy. Confusion and prejudice has split this world apart. The cities burned, farmlands ravaged. There was only one hope - those who they had looked down on for years. Humanity had fallen to the bottom of the food chain, forced there by the beings they used to call freaks. Psionic, psychic, supernatural – they were the lifeblood of the new settlements. They protected the mere humans but only to use them. It is a shattered world, built on a foundation of blood.

Hey there! Why don't you give After Graduation a try? It's an AU post-DH HP RP based around life in the wizarding world, the current IC time being August/September of 2018. We're an active and friendly bunch; personally I think we have a very strong community. We like talking, plotting, and so on with each other, and we usually rack up a few pages worth of conversation in the cbox on any given day. My co-admin and I run the site in such a way that it's very easy for new members to get involved; one of us is usually on at any given time, so feel free to ask any questions or leave a few comments in the cbox.

PG-13, 50+ active charries, and a simple application that is automatically accepted. Here's the ad so you have a better idea of what's going on IC:

AFTER GRADUATION: THE FOURTH UNFORGIVABLE

"I'm afraid that I cannot share the particulars with you. I work in the Department of Mysteries; you understand. Suffice it to say that we seek to understand the differences between magic and Muggle; moreover, why they are different."

"An Unspeakable?...Humor me, are you really trying breed a new race of Super Blast-Ended Skrewts to use in a war against the French wizarding community?"

"I'm afraid the truth of our work is a great deal less amusing."

"I refuse to believe your work is boring. I'm sure you're working on something utterly fascinating, like trying to unlock the mysteries of the human soul."

"Do you find the human soul fascinating?"

"Well, yes, I suppose I do. It is the very essence of who we are. It transcends death itself. That's what makes the Dementors so utterly terrifying. They weren't just destroying your body, they were destroying your very being. You can exist without a body, ghosts are proof of that...but your soul is everything."

THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC WANTS YOUR SOUL.

•• AG is a post-DH Harry Potter roleplay based around life after Hogwarts. Our characters are adults and recent Hogwarts graduates who are now full members of the wizarding community. The setting of the site is the wizarding U.K. rather than Hogwarts.

•• It's the summer of 2018. Harry Potter has gone missing and Minister Shacklebolt has been murdered. Dubbed the 'apparition bug' by the Daily Prophet, these mysterious disappearances happen to many important wizarding leaders through the summer months. With so many leaders gone, how will the young men and women taking their places cope? Can they overcome the challenges they encounter in the wide wizarding world? Or will they meet the same unfortunate fate as their predecessors? It's the new Wizarding world, and here, the soul is everything.

•• AG is intermediate/advanced with a PG-13 rating. Our joining process is simple; post your profile, and you're automatically accepted. The Admin strive to make every member and character an important part of the site. No matter whether you create an original or adopt a canon, you're always an important contributor to the site. The community is very friendly; we love chatting with guests about any questions or comments they have, so we'd love it if you dropped us a word in the chat box. Dirty Little Secret !

At this moment, there are six billion, four hundred seventy million, eight hundred eighteen thousand, six hundred seventy one people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil.

Six billion people in the world, six billion souls, and sometimes…all you need is ONE.
Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has secrets, but what if just what if your mistake or secret was big enough to make you run and hide would you run? Leave behind the people you grew to love: friends, family, children, spouses, everyone in your life? Well, there’s a city in New Mexico that allows this… Albuquerque, perched right in the valley of the mountains in the middle of the desert. There’s tons of things here to start your new life. But be careful as the secret city grows bigger it’ll grow harder to keep your secret with newcomers from peoples hometowns come in, how long is your new life going to be a secret still.

Dirty Little Secret!

Hey there! What Lies Within is a next generation Harry Potter site set in the 2021-2022 school year. We've got about a dozen or so unique members with many characters between us. And we are definitely an open and friendly community. (Beware a few members, they like to be enthusiastic in their c-box greetings.) In fact we haven't had any unpleasant OOC drama yet. *knocks on wood* I am generally on at some point each day to check in and catch up on posts and our lovely mod tends to be on when I'm not so there's always someone who can help with questions and the like.

As I said we are set in the 2021/22 school year and the Wizarding World is finally at peace. No dark lords trying to stir up trouble, no trouble with the Statute of Secrecy, nothing. However things at Hogwarts aren't so lucky. Something was buried and hiden within the school. Something that has woken up and is causing problems. Strange things have been happening throughout the school. At first it was little things like more potions than usual boiling over and suits of armour falling down. Then something worse happened. A bludger escaped the confines of the Pitch during a practice and flew into the castle itself and created an absolute mess. Aside from the debris, which can be easily repaired, there was a serious injury. The victim was a seventh year Gryffindor named Alina Weasley, who is currently in the care of the school matron. This incident is the first and while the staff would like to believe otherwise, it will not be the last.

New characters have several ways to dive into the activity of the board. DADA, Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies all have active professors which means classes are in session. The DADA classes are always exciting since the professor hates being cooped up in a classroom. CoMC is taught by a new professor who made the mistake of admitting to the seventh years that she's never taught before. However she let them bring their pets to class and promised to teach them about dragons. The Muggle Studies professor is a muggleborn...and actually knows what he is talking about. Outside of these classes there a few interesting going ons. Zhou Davies and Mallory Quirke got bored and decided to invent a new sport...staircase sliding using mattresses. How long before a prefect or a teacher stops them? Merlin only knows. For the Weasley clan, a family bonding thread is in the works. We're just waiting for Alina to regan consciousness.

Many canons are open and originals are very welcome. Don't want to be a student? We have four active professors/staff on the board and would love more.

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.

Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.

But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

Welcome to the Steampunk world of Legend Makers.

The former King was lately found to have died of natural causes at the age of 35. Predicted cause of death was heart failure. Unknown to most, the result of his kingship's death was from a large quantity of Foxglove in his soup, which in small doses is classed as a drug used to aid those with weak hearts, yet large doses can prove fatal.

Following the death of the King, his child Alexander the III has taken up the role of monarch at the young age of 7 years old. Due to his age and inexperience, the Church has offered their services in helping run the Kingdom temporally until his 16th birthday when he can take his rightful position in the political world, seeing as his knowledge of the political world and faith will be up to acceptable standards.

Unknown to the public, the Church has lead the continent for the past 100 years by pulling such stunts similar to this one:

Monarchs have been used as political puppets, to be used when useful and discarded when posing a threat, much like the former king Alfred the IV. His Rule was cut shot due to a few outcries on his half against the Churches current place in the political world, (unaware, every decision he ever took as King was moulded by the Churches very hands). This lead to a momentary laps in the peoples respect for the Church. The Puppets strings were quickly cut away, opening a position for a new monarch, a new face for the church to hide there scheming behind.

I've got the site for you! It's original, has a short application, staff are active constantly, and it's not super strict.

after the success of the real world, mtv has decided to do something new, something huge! so the producers got together, and soon one of the producers revealed that he had been cheating on his wife, and they were going through a divorce. this confession led to the new show. "that's a great idea! the show could be called tell me your secrets!" at first, no one really liked the idea, because it was too big, but soon everyone knew it was going to be a huge hit. the producers sent some people out to every state in the united states, and hold autions for the new show. soon, they found people, and the show was soon made. the show was set to be made in los angeles, were they built a huge mansion, and called it the secret chamber. they did give credit to the people working with harry potter for the name, of course. so, now, everyone's in this huge house. boys and girls. oh, my bad, men and women. they are in this huge house. there's going to be some fights and even some romance. but everyone in america is wanting these people to *tell me your secrets

AND WHERE HELL IS, THERE MUST WE EVER BE
ALL PLACES SHALL BE HELL THAT IS NOT HEAVEN.
WHY THIS IS HELL! NOR AM I OUT OF IT!

SO, LET'S SAY YOU'VE JUST DIED. YOU KNOW YOU DID, YOU CAN REMEMBER THE BLOOD OR THE PAIN OR WELL, HOWEVER IT IS THAT YOU JUST SO HAPPENED TO HAVE KICKED THE BUCKET, BUT THE THING IS, THE AFTERLIFE DOESN'T LOOK ALL THAT DIFFERENT FROM, SAY, ANY INCREDIBLY SHITTY LITTLE TOWN IN UPSTATE NEW YORK. BEFORE YOU GO THINKING YOU'VE GOTTEN STUCK IN SOME SORT OF PURGATORY THOUGH, DON'T WORRY, BECAUSE YOU SEE THOSE CHEERFUL PEOPLE ALL DRESSED IN BLACK CLOAKS? THEY'RE HERE TO INFORM YOU THAT THIS ISN'T PURGATORY! IT'S HELL'S WAITING ROOM! HELL'S GOTTEN A LITTLE FULL AT THE MOMENT, AND WHEN GOD CREATED HELL, HE HADN'T ANTICIPATED US HUMANS BEING SO INCREDIBLY SELFISH, SO HE DIDN'T MAKE IT QUITE AS ROOMY AS HEAVEN. WELL, GOD, THE POWERS THAT BE, WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE BELIEVING IN RIGHT NOW, HE AND LUCIFER ARE WORKING ON IT FOR YOU, SO FOR NOW, YOU HAVE TO SIT AND CHILL. APPARENTLY MAKING PITS OF FIRE AND HIRING DEMONS OUT TO RIP THE FLESH FROM YOUR BONES IS A TOUGH GIG.

SO, YOU'VE GOT A COUPLE YEARS TO KILL IN HELL'S EQUIVALENT OF A WAITING ROOM. WHAT DO YOU DO? WELL, YOU COULD GET A JOB. CRAPSHOOT OF A PIZZA JOINT DOWN THE ROAD SEEMS TO BE HIRING. OR YOU COULD MILL ABOUT AIMLESSLY CONTINUING TO BE AS USELESS AS YOU WERE BACK ON EARTH. EITHER WAY, YOU'RE STUCK HERE WITH HUNDREDS OF OTHER MISFITS THAT JUST COULDN'T QUITE GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER.

---

THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE TOLD WHEN YOU GET TO BRUGES, LIMBO, ANYWAY. SOLEMN REAPER TYPES BRING ALL THE LOST SOULS IN ON CITY BUSES, TELL 'EM TO GIVE IT A COUPLE YEARS AND HELL WILL HAVE A NICE TOASTY SPOT OPEN, BUT UNTIL THEN, BE GRATEFUL THAT THEY'VE BEEN ALLOWED TO CHILL. PUN INTENDED. THING IS, BRUGES IS NOT HELL'S WAITING ROOM, IT'S A JOKE BETWEEN GOD AND LUCIFER. GOD DECIDED PURGATORY WAS TOO EASY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PEOPLE KNEW THAT THEY WERE THERE JUST LONG ENOUGH TO PLAY NICE. SO HE REDECORATED WITH THE HELP OF LUCIFER, AND RENAMED PURGATORY BRUGES AFTER AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE THEY'D WATCHED TOGETHER ABOUT AN UNHAPPY HITMAN. BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT. BRUGES WAS SET UP SO THAT GOD COULD SEE IF ANYONE REALLY WANTED TO CHANGE, WOULD THEY GIVE UP THEIR HUMANITY AND SIMPLY GORGE THEMSELVES ON ALCOHOL AND DRUGS, DROWN THEIR SORROWS AS IT WERE? OR WOULD THEY TRY TO SHAPE UP, EVEN IF THEY WERE TOLD ALL HOPE WAS LOST? IT WAS A BETTER WAY TO TELL THE USELESS FROM THE USEFUL.

ALONG WITH THAT, GOD SENT DOWN SOME ANGELS TO HELP TEMPT SOULS HIS WAY, WHILE LUCIFER SENT UP SOME LUCKY DEMONS TO DO THE SAME. IT'S A LONG RUNNING GAME WITH LUCIFER AND GOD, WHO CAN WIN OVER THE MOST SOULS TO THEIR PART OF THE SPECTRUM. LUCIFER USES COOKIES TO TEMPT, AND GOD... HE CHEATS. HE USES PRETTY WINGED ANGELS OF THE OPPOSITE SEX BEHIND LUCIFER'S BACK. COURSE, HE'S GOD, SO HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS, RIGHT?

---

SO WHAT WILL IT BE? TRADE REASON IN FOR MADNESS? OR DO YOU STILL HAVE THAT LAST LITTLE BIT OF HOPE LEFT IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD THAT MAYBE GOD HASN'T FORGOTTEN YOU? REMEMBER, GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES. LUCIFER'S ALL ABOUT INSTANT GRATIFICATION AND ETERNAL DAMNATION. UP TO YOU.

'NO BRAVERY
LIFE SUCKS AND THEN YOU DIE. AND THEN IT STILL SUCKS.
A BS INTELLIGENCE PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH BANG!BANG! PRODUCTIONS.

*NOTE TO ALL RELIGIOUS FANATICS: NO OFFENSE MEANT BY ANYTHING. PLEASE HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR AND/OR FEEL FREE TO IGNORE US, BUT DON'T FLAME. PLEASE AND THANKS.

I'm offering Show the Colours. We're pretty small, but very friendly. I'm online most days, and there's nearly always something happening. We're historical, accepting OC's, canon characters from pretty much anything set in the Napoleonic era, or even historical people. Come and have a look!

Welcome to the Napoleonic Wars. It is May 1809.

The Army: Five months ago, the British were driven from the Peninsula. They fought every step of the way, and their General was killed in battle. But now... now it is time to fight again. Not all the British left, however.

Sir Arthur Wellesley has recently arrived to take command of the small contingent left in Lisbon. Can he take them from defeat to victory?

The Navy: Five years ago, the British fleet defeated the French and Spanish in battle. They won a glorious victory at the cost of their Admiral's life. Britain gained control of the seas... or did she?

Rumours abound that the French are rebuilding their shattered fleet, ready to rise again. Will they succeed?

The French: The French are confident they can win. Their army is undefeated on land, save for minor skirmishes nine months ago. They are the best of the best. Their Emperor has returned to France, safe in the assurance that the British forces left pose no threat to his plans to take control of the entire Iberian Peninsula.

Soon, they will move south to strike at the Portuguese capital, knowing no one can stand in their way.

This is a world at war. From battles at sea to skirmishes on land to the secret fact-finding missions of spies of both sides, there is danger at every turn. There is friendship and camaraderie, too. But the clouds are gathering.

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.

In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.

You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.

Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.

It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.

What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?

Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.

Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.

Hey! We're brand spankin' new so it's pretty hard to not be loved by everyone! We're Charmed, which if you've ever seen the show is VERY Superhero-esque but, if you don't know a ton about the show you're pretty safe. If you ever have a question, we're pretty nice!!

It seems that whenever the world is finally spinning the way one desires it, something comes along and knocks it off course once again. For the Halliwell Sisters, the world had been spinning wonderfully for over twenty years. Their powers had become unmatched, even by the infamous King of Good Magick, and they alone had nearly purged the Underworld of magicks that were to be of a danger to their children. They each had three beautiful children to carry on the Warren blood and spread good magick. True these children held no special powers beyond that of their blood and they aren’t Charmed Ones or anything close, but they shouldn’t be counted out. They have something that the world has always been after. Something even good is after.

Great power flows through those pages and the rights to claim it is solely yours would give you rights to the entire magickal world, or at least that’s what one mislead boy thought. Wyatt Halliwell was supposed to become the King of Good Magick, and though he was well on his way, the Elders gave him three hoops to leap through. The First Task; prove to three whitelighters that he had a mastery over his powers. This was easy for the powerful young man to complete, and the first hoop had been leapt through with ease. The Second Task; reach the age of thirty, a point at which the Elders believed he would be ready to receive their blessing. The Third and Final Task; have something to which he could prove his greatness. In this, the Elders meant only that he needed to commit some great good deed or prove he was truly good. To him, it meant getting something of great power. Though Excalibur, the sword he was to wield, was eventually to be under his control, he lost the ability to use it around the age of fifteen. The reasoning is still unknown, though many believe a new guardian has been born. With no other options, he turned to the infamous Book of Shadows.

He approached his mother, the matriarch of the Halliwell Line, and asked for the book. She refused to give all its power to one Halliwell and leave the others without it. Upset, enraged and confused, Wyatt left the manor and was found by a rather...dark man. The Oracle told him that if he was to remove his mother and her sisters from the world, that he would become the Patriarch and could thus imbue himself with the Book. That night, Wyatt returned to the manor and confronted his mother once more, begging her for the book. Her refusal caused a rage to burn within him, but yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He couldn’t kill Piper Halliwell; he couldn’t kill his mother. However, someone could. The Oracle arrived behind Piper and stabbed her, managing to avoid her detection.

His aunts, having been guided by a premonition of Phoebe, arrived to see their sister dead and the two drew a rather obvious conclusion; Wyatt had killed her. Paige sent a bolt of electricity that resembled that of the Elders toward her nephew who blocked the blast with a shield. Consumed by his own magick and rage, the boy threw an energy ball at his more passive aunt only to find a familiar figure in his life blocking the shot; his father. Leo had charged in front of the energy ball and died saving one of his charges. Phoebe, who didn’t have her physical strength about her at this age, rushed for the book while calling out the name of her husband. Coop arrived with Henry (the two had been working on convincing Henry Jr. to ask a girl out) only to find their deaths awaiting them. Henry tried to take down the boy and did so, but a mortal can only do so much against a witch. A blast of energy threw Henry back, breaking his neck and leaving his body lifeless. Paige tossed another blast of electricity toward her darkening nephew as she rushed toward her husband’s lifeless body. Her hands rested over him as she tried to heal him, but no magick came. There was no way to return this dead mortal.

Phoebe called out for her sister to start the spell as Coop used his powers to stop the wicked man. The two Halliwell witches both knew what spell they’d be calling on; the one they had used years and years ago to destroy one of the greatest evils ever known. However, the Oracle had different plans. His athemae found another sheath and Coop fell to the floor, dying at the hands of a rather wicked creature. Though the sisters had started the spell, Wyatt managed to end their lives as they tried to finish the spell. Emotionally destroyed, afraid to hurt their nephew and confused, the Charmed Ones fell and Wyatt took a leap into darkness.

The magickal world is in shambles. Good and Evil have both suffered from this. Good magick no longer has a hero or a hope to turn to and Evil must suffer the burden of changing age old taboos about Warlocks and Demons. Killings have become a common thing as beings of darkness try to get enough power to challenge the Warlock King. Good beings are dying at a rate unseen in years and there’s little they can do without the infamous Charmed Ones running about. Mortals are still chugging along, but even they are starting to notice things are changing. The future is unclear and though we know that every hand will change the course of history, the hand that ends this chaos is still shrouded in darkness. It could be yours or that of your killer. Darkness is coming and the time of light has passed. Take a stance and get ready for a ride; no one is coming to save you this time.

Have you ever wanted to play god? Do pesky people annoy you so much you just want to kill them in a spectacular way? Well now you can! At Meddling Immortals, a literate RPG, we give you the chance to do just that. You can visit the towers of Jahata, the coral cities of the Mer, the steaming deserts of Gath, the eternal revelry of Silviv, and even some strange planes that defy imagination. And you can do it all without worrying about every robber or sword-swinging hero that comes along. If they annoy you, just kill them!

Why can you kill with such impunity, you ask? How? Because you are half-god, half mortal, that's why! As an immortal demi-god, you have power wizards dream of when smoking poppyseed oil. Not to mention that every human is NPCed. They're practically meant to be destroyed!

Let your dreams (yes, including your nightmares) come true at Meddling Immortals!

This is way different, but it might be a little bit too high fantasy. There are elves and dwarves and such, but of course we make fun of them...

A Marauder Roleplay
Based on Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school of magic for those between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Thousands of students call this castle their second home, and with the extensive grounds, it is not hard to guess why. Some are returning, some are beholding it’s wonder for the first time, but all are still stunned by its high walls and sky skimming towers. However in all their souls they know one other thing that makes them so eager to reach the castle. It is now the safest place on earth. Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror has struck fear into the hearts of many, ripped families apart and is still spreading at an alarming rate. Almost every night the dreaded Dark Mark can be found hovering over a new dwelling and the violence is getting worse.

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Everyday the newspapers are filled with more disappearances, more murders and more tales of horror and pain. Everyone clings to their loved ones in hopes of keeping them safe, some have even stopped their children returning to Hogwarts for fear they won’t be safe there either. Yet inside those high walls the teaching continues. The Staff are trying to make a special effort to run as normal but with more students receiving news of their parent’s deaths or kidnaps it is an up hill struggle. To everyone it seems every morning another black envelope is dropped into a lap. However there is one group of people not changed by the outside world, and intent on keeping things the same. The Marauders. Everyday it seems another stink bomb or minor explosion erupts in the corridors and the mood began to lighten in response. The halls of Hogwarts were once more filled with laughter and the happy chatter of teenage gossip as tension eased after a few weeks. The letters even seemed to stop for a few days at a time. The students in Hogwarts convinced themselves they were safe and focused more on their studies whilst their loved ones fought for their lives outside, after all it was hard to think of a war when an indoor fireworks display had just erupted in front of your eyes.

But are they truly as safe as they think? It appeared not so when a scream rang through the air one night, cutting off after a few seconds. Staff and students alike sprung from their beds and raced towards the sound, only to be greeted with a sight that make most want to turn away and pretend it was a bad dream. A body in Hogwarts. It was a small girl, a first year they discovered later, a muggleborn that had been struck down with an Advada Kedavra curse. Terror once more spread and everyone was advised to travel in packs, to not be alone, for the Hogwarts body had a murderer in it’s midst. Despite an investigation the crime was never solved and this has made it all the worse. Now everyone of non-pureblood is terrified of being the next victim. No one is safe inside or out of those walls. Everyone is clinging to threads of hope that are disintegrating with everyday and even the light mood of the Marauder's can't completely ease the tension now. Someone will be next, the question is who?
