  • Schools/Academies
  • Anne Rice
  • Anita Blake
  • Mafia
  • X-men
  • Crossovers
  • Sci-fi ( such as Star Wars, Halo, etc. )
  • Single races ( unless modern. )

-- I vary from characters. Either I can play some really childish, stubborn person or some very serious, silent type. I can also play guys if you're lacking in that department and I can also take up any already made characters that need to be possibly played for an important role. I also don't mind playing characters that are destined to be killed.

-- I'm quite friendly and welcome new members, as well as try to go ahead and get myself involved with other people. If you need a mod or something of the sort, I'd be glad to help.

Hmm. Ternisal may be for you. Then again, it may not be. It's Fantasy, but not the type with Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, Angels, etc. Instead, the creatures here are Pixies, Fairies, Vampire Bats, Dragonflies. Basically, smaller fantasy creatures.

Here is the story:

£The Awakening~

Deep in the brambles and rose bushes, there is a city not like your normal city. This place is magical a place where mice can talk and where pixies and gnomes hold down jobs and clean up after themselves. The magic here is called Ternisal.

The city began many centuries ago, when a young child brought a seed to the forest. He began planting the seed with tears of love in his eyes. As his tears fell on the seed, the love and magic began. The creatures that lived here soon started to shriek and think. The thoughts where more than just running and hunting. They wanted to learn, live, and marry. They wanted to love like the child had loved the seed. Primrose was one of the first fairies to appear in the city, and soon named it with the help of her best friend, Lilac Ember. They both were crowned Queens of the small town. While there had been other cities outside of their own, they loved it here, and their palaces were amazing to them.

Here of late, there has been darkness creeping into the city, taking on the form of nasty insects and snakes. Many think that the darkness is because no children believe any more, that the light of the magic is dying. There are few that do not want to think that the city is going to fade out, but there is proof all over.

The darkness is taking over the small town. Buttercup and her friend Pipen have seen the horror that has started to befall the fair city. The two friends try and fail to tell their parents of what they have seen. The Queens brushed their children aside and did not hear a word of what they said. The other children could not listen, but there was an ear that did listen, a Prince from another city. One that the Princess Tiger Lily would fall hopelessly in love with. Soon, Tiger Lily is trying to help Buttercup to get their mother to listen.

Elenlond may be worth checking out. We're a PG-13 original medieval fantasy RP. We certainly do have more than ten actual members, although some of those members are active off and on, depending on their schedules. Either way, we have at least five or six signing in daily and posting. We are currently accepting any sort of character you'd like to make, although that is within reason, as most things are. If you're interested, please check us out =D

Elenlond...

A land of mystery, beauty, and power.

In recent times there has been some upheaval as those of the free lands - known as both the Scattered and the Middle Isles - begin to fear the power that the deities exercise over the two main continents, Esiria and Soare. Although no god has endeavoured to conquer the free isles, the people still fear. And there is talk that some have formed groups in Esiria and Soare in support of removing the deities, those who invaded their homeland.

The deities did not choose Elenlond, although they certainly named it. After their original homeland, Mianor, imploded on itself and the world began to devour its own entity, the gods gathered as many of their surviving citizens as they could, pushing them through the largest of the rifts that had begun to form in Mianor. There they travelled, weary from their travels, uncertain of their future.

This time was known as The Great Migration.

It lasted for many weeks - perhaps even months; few kept journals of their journey, and many perished along the way - but eventually, there was an end in sight. The people of the old land plunged into the new and it was named Elenlond. Once they were settled, the people could only breathe:

Our Celestial Haven.

Elenlond has been around for several years, although it recently underwent renovations. Although we sport 60+ members, we are looking for active, dedicated people who will join and help activity to blossom. Our members are friendly, chatty, and we love new people. So, if you're interested, by all means join! We'd love to have you.

You thought your life was boring. Dull. Normal. You live in Washington DC and you thought you're life was just a conglomeration of politics, bills, and gas prices. You thought that nothing extraordinary ever happened, that magic was dead, and that fantasy was something found in comic books and role playing games.

Well, you'd be wrong.

Welcome to the Harbor, a portal to another world. Another world, where magic reigns, where magical creatures roam free, and where a dark force is currently ruling. Euphrania, once ruled by two benevolent brothers, is now in ruins, a disagreement between the two sending their world into perpetual darkness. A man of non-royal blood now rules, creating dissent in the people and the very nature of Euphrania. His evil magic is too great to be reckoned with. The only hope for the people of Euphrania is to see a human of true royal blood on the throne once more, but where have they all gone? They've been scattered across Euphrania and the United States. These men and women of royal Euphranian blood are just like you and me, and most will live their life without ever knowing their true place. However, if found by the evil forces of Euphrania, these men and women will no doubt be disposed of... their only hope is to be found first by the good-natured people of Euphrania.

Of course, though, this is not even the beginning. This is the United States, so of course the government has to be involved.

The President has always known of Euphrania, and, since the creation of democracy within the Americas, each president has decided to keep the existence of the other world a secret. But these are different times. These are times of terrorists and murderers and thievery and rape. The current president has decided to create a faction, housed within the CIA, known as the Agency for the Betterment of US / Euphrania Relations, also called-- in a move of foreshadowing, perhaps?-- ABUSER. ABUSER is separated into several divisions, specializing in both research and reconnaissance. ABUSER's agents travel regularly to Euphrania.

But ABUSER is not, as its namesake would suggest, good.

The current President does not like Euphrania. Its existence threatens the very sanity of the world. And so, he has charged ABUSER with luring the people of Euphrania into a false relationship based on camaraderie and trade. When this is achieved, ABUSER will annihilate all of Euphrania, leaving nothing. No traces of the people, places, and magic that once existed. The good people of Euphrania already dislike these newcomers, considering ABUSER has decided to side with the Dark Lord in power for the time being. The Dark Lord has charged ABUSER with several jobs.

One: Destroy all who threaten his will.

Two: Destroy all of supposed royal blood.

Three: Using their technology, attempt to create a replica of a royal human in order to fully capture the throne or Euphrania.

ABUSER is, at the time, fully complying.

Where do you stand? Who are you? 'Cause, man, is this fantasy shit as real as ever, You better pick a side, before a side picks you.

Okay, honestly, I'm not quite too sure if we're what you're looking for, but I thought I'd see if you were interested anyhow. We just started, so we're not fully established yet, but we already have 15 actual members. :pink: Please check us out!

Sicaluff - Thanks but no thanks. Doesn't really seem to be my cup of tea ( and trust me, I'm quite picky with fantasy boards. ) But it looks nice regardless.

Elenlond - The site looks nice and welcoming but not really what I'm looking for. Thanks for offering though. <3

samaside - Looks really awesome and pretty. Certainly caught my eye but after looking it over, it just feels like.. something's missing? Not quite sure what but perhaps I'll come back and look it over more closely later on.

December, Esq - Wonderful, original idea but I'm not sure that it would really catch my interest as much as it sounds.

Thanks for all the listings guys! :3 Good luck with your forums~

We haven't got werewolves, but I think everything else fits with what you're looking for. Many active members create a very active board, which just celebreated its 7 month birthday. It's vampires, but not based on Twilight (since I never read/saw it), or Anne Rice. How you make the application is up to you, but it does need to be accepted and you'll hear from an admin (most likely me) if we feel something is missing, to make sure all characters fit our board :) Well, check DD out and see if it fits what you want :)

"Blood has always been the coin of our realm."
~Dracula 2000

The Lord of Darkness, Dracula, rose from the dead once more in the year 2007 – and he rose with just one thing in mind. Revenge over the God who denied him death so long ago. Now, in 2008, the Dragulian Empire is for the first time truly expanding, and even more after both all of Africa and Australia submitted to the Vampire rule... and with the help of blood from a witch born with Dracula’s blood – Charlotte Heller, granddaughter of Abraham Van Helsing – the Vampires are rising like never before, even able to have children, and walk in daylight. Dark Desires is inspired by the movie Dracula 2000 (but not the sequels), but also referring to many other myths about the greatest living vampire of all times. It is a good idea to have seen the movie, but not a requirement.

Join us in the new dark times, that are certainly increasing – be a part of the new world which our Lord of Darkness, and King of the Dragulian Empire, is trying to create. The threat that waited to be released, is out, and who knows if the Human kind is doomed or not? Who shall you be in this new world, if not a simple Human or one of the Vampires? Perhaps you’d be a Token, supporting the Vampires in their quest for perfection? Or maybe the opposite, a Slayer, trying to restore order in the lately chaotic world? Dark Desires contains a wide variety in characters, and is in general a very friendly community, welcoming even the more odd character types. There is much to see and explore, especially with the world coming close to a change it has not seen for centuries. If you long to know, then the only remaining question is not if, but when you will give in to your Dark Desires?

I love you already... :D

TNR: http://www.thenetherrealm.com/forum/

We have a vast world in a fantasy-medieval setting and I believe have what you are asking for. We do have more then ten actual members, almost 20,000 posts in less then two years and are very friendly!

We do indeed have Assassin's, and funnily enough we got a profile for a sorceress today. We are in great need of more though! We have female wizards and loads of sorcerers, but not many sorceresses. :(

We have two types of Summoner. The Quasi are very powerful and summon godlike creatures known as the Eria. The basic summoners have a hume lifespan and can only summon creatures from the Shadow Realm (same place as the Eria). These summoners can call upon all kinds of creatures of the players invention. The shadow realm creatures can morph into whatever form your characters want but are not as powerful as the Eria.

So yeah, we have a wiki too and the world is vast but we are here to answer any questions!

Hopefully we are for you.

I know that you said you're not fond of Anita Blake, but like everyone else here, I'm an opportunist. :)

Truth be told, I don't like the canon aspects of Anita -- my group's game is Anita Blake in world alone. We nixed the canon characters and setting and relocated things entirely. The primary emphasis in the game is always going to be on the lycanthropes of the city (right now we don't have vampires, but the current storyline will be bringing them in), and werewolves are the second-biggest in-game group we're got (the first-biggest group in terms of characters). We have two packs of werewolves to choose from and are always looking for more werewolf characters. Our rating is R. We've got thirteen players at the moment. The game has been running since the beginning of January.

The link to our forum is in my sig. If we're not for you, then I completely understand and wish you the best of luck in finding a game.

SJWinchester - July 16, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
We're:
Action/drama
Not too big on application requirements
Sci-fi, but it doesn't rule us that much. We're also a very different brand of sci-fi than Halo or Star Wars.
Open to assassin characters.
Modern.
Open to 'powers' of a certain sort. - the genetic kind. *bites lip*
Happy to have a traitor in our midst. Haha.

We are A Broken Tomorrow, and I hope we're what you are looking for, at least in some small way. :p We're a Dark Angel Role Playing Game, based off of the hit FOX series by James Cameron. Our basic plot is in our ad..

A few short weeks after the siege at Jam Pony, the Transgenics are living freely. With their own fort and a bio-hazard sign to stop trespassers and the mobs, they can finally spend time in the light, lapping up the sun, or the life, they always wanted.

The scene is set for a happy life, unbroken by those who hunt them, but they know that can't last forever. As news spreads about the Transgenics and their nation, more and more angry citizens are getting involved. Transgenics from all over the country and cropping up and joining in the fight.

However, agencies sent to abolish them are depleting, as they realize the job is just too large.

Max is running the nation, with help from Alec and those others who stood by her. Just as things started to look up, their new world seems to have come falling down around them. What will they do now?

Their freedom will not come easily, but with the help of their friends new and old; the Transgenics will fight through to the end.

If you're not cool with that, that's fine. Just stayin' optimistic!

MelioraAdmin - July 16, 2008 12:24 PM (GMT)
Sounds like Meliora might be right up your alley on the fantasy end of the spectrum. It's got all sorts of different races, including werewolves and vampires (not common, but that just makes them more desirable at this point in time- especially werewolves). Summoning characters wouldn't fit in, but there are plenty of opportunities to use magic (mages of the gods and a secret mages' guild without affiliation). You could certainly play a sorceress of sorts or a werewolf female (we actually have a fairly equal balance of males and females, so don't worry about that).

ALSO, we've got some "canons" that really need players. Basically, positions in the royal family need to be filled. We also need someone to lead the secret mages' guild, and some leaders for the rebellions that are starting in each of the deity cities. You may want to explore these options.

The only downside that I can see right away is that you may not be satisfied with our current activity level. We aren't new by any means (I've been at Meliora since 2005), but we're coming back from a period of inactivity (I took over when the site was on the verge of dying in May ). The people we do have (just over a dozen) are a very friendly bunch, and we're really excited about brining new people in. However, the activity isn't excellent yet. Just know that I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon, and there are a lot of opportunities to get involved. This place is definitely worth a look and some consideration.

Let me know if you have any questions. I can certainly answer them. :)

. . .There Are Many Paths to Tread. . .
In a land governed by royalty and divinity, how will you choose to live? Will you devote your life to your deity, serving them as a priest or priestess? Will you live independently, giving up the protection of the divine? Will you reside within one of the cities of the eight under the watchful eyes of the god you trust? Are you one of the extraordinary who can earn the right to share in the powers of the gods as a mage? There are many choices to be made, for in Meliora, all things are possible.

. . .The Power of the Eight. . .

Long ago there was a battle with the mighty Leviathon that changed Meliora forever. The greatest mages of this time joined their power to destroy the Leviathon, but paid a great price. They perished. Their power was lost, but the land was restored. Years later, individuals from across the land began displaying powers greater than those of the mages that restored Meliora. They became the eight deities of fire, water, earth, air, day, night, time and fate. Since then, some deities have come and gone, but the spirits of nature have chosen others to rise in their places. The Eight are the most powerful beings in Meliora. Your fate is in their hands.

. . . Nothing Lasts Forever. . .

Meliora has prospered for many years, but all good things must come to an end. The Leviathon proved that tragedy can strike when it is least expected. It is only a matter of time before peaceful Meliora is, once again, shaken to the core. Will you be the change you wish to see, or will you step back and watch as others control your destiny? Even the smallest person can change the course of the world. Every soul counts.

Join us and find your way. . .

Hi Squirrelsy!

I have two anime-inspired fantasy for you, and I'll go through your prospective concepts and flesh out how they might fit. :)

Three Wishes is a steampunk RP inspired by Asian Mythology, which anime-wise was fleshed out in Fushigi Yuugi. The world is controlled by the sociofascist Imperial Regency, which has decided that anything that is bad for you is illegal, and organized religion is very bad for you. This makes the Beast Gods rather unhappy, so there are religious overtones to the insurrection and resistance to the fascist regime.

Assassin: There is a very active secret police force run by the government, and an entire nation of mercenaries.

Sorcererss: Magic is strictly regulated by the Regency, but it most certainly and definitely exists. Like with the assassin, there are places this concept could work for either the antagonists or protagonists, depending on your preference. :)

Werewolf: Certainly, but I think it would better fit the world if you went with the Asian folklore as regards lycanthropy and used magic or religion as the source of her gift rather than the western ideals of a disease or curse.

Summoner: Absolutely. This kind of magic is well known through many Asian cultures, and adding that mythology to the steampunk victoriana world would be AWESOME. Clockwork demons!

However, if you're looking for something slightly less serious, Silvermoon is a space opera loosely (very very VERY VERY VERY loosely) inspired by Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (the cheesy live-action version). All of your concepts would work there in absolutely whatever way you see fit to play them, because this is a deliberately over-the-top game. Our inspiration comes from embracing the cheese of pulp novels, 50s science fiction, romance tropes, and soap opera cliché. It is invariably hilarious, and we would LOVE to get some of your concepts in there. No one is playing a werewolf, or even a heavy-duty sorceress. Can you believe it? That is just a crime. If you can invent a concept, we can find a home for it: this is a place for all of the characters you can't play anywhere else.

Both games offer a friendly, welcoming community, reasonable levels of activity (though Three Wishes, being more serious, is also more active), and a totally easy application that consists of (drumroll!) filling out the member profile. That's it. They're also account-per-character but with a single login, because I am just that awesome.

LittleRikku - July 17, 2008 02:00 AM (GMT)
Hey there <3

eh, still looking? I'll plug in my board and maybe you can check it out?

I think that we have a pretty good plot that you can easily throw in something of action in there. I mean, in an rp about spies in vegas, action comes fairly easy. :)

I really really hope to see you there ^-^

We're still a bit new so you can get used to our small family, but our activity is very nicely high and we dish our replies like machines. ^-^

haha, so yeah, see you there.

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.

Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.

But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

The Abydos Quest is an advanced free-form role playing board for writers interested in cooperative fantasy storywriting. There is a short application (post a writing sample for review - something from another board is perfect). No word minimums, shops, canons, or restrictions - write the stories you want and make the characters you want. The provided fantasy 'world' is extremely large, so there's lots of space for you to be creative!
  • Relatively new board, and small community
  • Only advanced writers accepted. Core members average 700-1500 words/post or more, with good depth, detail, spelling, and grammar (less is fine, this is just an idea of what we're like).
  • All stories are original - there are no set plots or cannons. A world with geography has been established for your use, you can create what you will within that.
  • The setting is fantasy - medieval with magic, dragons, knights, etc. Other races/species ok as long as they incorporate into the setting.
  • Most content is PG/PG-13, but there are no word filters.
  • Friendly, active staff who know how to run an RP board.

It has been three years since Yuna, Rikku, and Paine saved Spira a second time, stopping Shuyin from firing Vegnagun and returning Tidus to the land of the living. For four years, Spira has seen the Calm, a time of peace in Spira. This is thought to be the Eternal Calm.

But some things are not as they seem.

Seymour is back, and he is more powerful than ever before. Having bonded with Sin right before Yuna could send it, he has become the New Sin. Around this time, people began to see pyreflies in the Ocean...Callie, a player on the Zanarkand Abes, is found off the coast of Luca, with blond hair and strikingly similar eyes, she begins the search for her twin brother. Meanwhile, Braska, Auron and Jecht have been returned to Spira, they have both been given a new lease on life, and plan to make full use of it to help defeat Sin.

Seymour is in Yevon, convincing the heads in charge to have him as Maester again...

Spira is going to change. Who will you side with?

In this eclipse, do you side with Power, or with the light? Yevon or the protective Summoners? The choice is yours.

Welcome to the Steampunk world of Legend Makers.

The former King was lately found to have died of natural causes at the age of 35. Predicted cause of death was heart failure. Unknown to most, the result of his kingship's death was from a large quantity of Foxglove in his soup, which in small doses is classed as a drug used to aid those with weak hearts, yet large doses can prove fatal.

Following the death of the King, his child Alexander the III has taken up the role of monarch at the young age of 7 years old. Due to his age and inexperience, the Church has offered their services in helping run the Kingdom temporally until his 16th birthday when he can take his rightful position in the political world, seeing as his knowledge of the political world and faith will be up to acceptable standards.

Unknown to the public, the Church has lead the continent for the past 100 years by pulling such stunts similar to this one:

Monarchs have been used as political puppets, to be used when useful and discarded when posing a threat, much like the former king Alfred the IV. His Rule was cut shot due to a few outcries on his half against the Churches current place in the political world, (unaware, every decision he ever took as King was moulded by the Churches very hands). This lead to a momentary laps in the peoples respect for the Church. The Puppets strings were quickly cut away, opening a position for a new monarch, a new face for the church to hide there scheming behind.
