Title: Where are you going this Summer?
ShinLi - July 16, 2006 01:53 PM (GMT)
For the ones who live on venus, it's Summervacation! And that means that a lot of people go on holiday. And I hope you all go on holiday as well, or maybe you've been on holiday already.
So what is your destination this year? Are you staying in your own country, or go abroad? Going onto a lazy vacation, or going to do a cultural vacation? Are you actually going to sightseeing, or don't you get further then the pool of the camping or the hotel your staying?
Tell us all about where you go, what your going to expect and with who you are going. And maybe afterwards you could also tell if your expectations we're right, and if you actually had fun :P.
I hope this makes an interesting topic, and hopefully you will look forward to your vacation a bit more!

Hmm...Well does my house count? We go to places since California is packed with muesums, beaches, Disneyland, and all that jazz. We were thinking of going to London for two weeks, but my dad just got a new job and he hasn't been there long enough to take time off. Oh well...
Charity Smythe - July 16, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
I'm still deciding between Miami and Italy. Probably Italy, I've been to Miami more often.
Yey Rome :P
Insomnium - July 17, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
The farthest I've gone and will go this summer is the dam on the lake I live by. My mom is in college right now so we can't go anywhere and... I'm okay with that for now. I'm pretty busy with friends.
Shadow of the Rain - July 17, 2006 07:26 AM (GMT)
I have gone everywhere this summer, it feels.
A friend and I went down to Alabama on the Gulf with another friend and her family. The beach rocked.
Then last week I went to the University of Mussouri because they had an intro to engineering program for a week. That was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and gave a good insight into engineering and a few other sciences. I really liked computer science.
Next week my family and I are going to Virginia to visit family...and theme parks. Hee. I love Bush Gardens!
And somehow I've got to finish all my summer work during the two weeks I am home before school starts in August.
Arianne Stark - July 17, 2006 06:02 PM (GMT)
I was going to say "nowhere," but I just got back from a trip to Kansas to visit my favorite sister, her husband, and their brand new baby girl. My first niece, and she decides to spit up all down the back of my black T-shirt whilie we're in a restaurant. She's adorable anyways.
Beyond that, I'm stuck at home. Summer classes are the biggest highlight, because majoring in two unrelated fields wasn't the brightest idea if I want to graduate in four years.
secret_soul - July 17, 2006 06:04 PM (GMT)
I will be going outside Europe for the first time in my life :) I'm off to the USA: Orange County. I am so excited because I have always wanted to go there and also the O.C. is filming this summer apparantly really near where we're staying. I'm also going to do a weekend in Brighton because, well, I love Brighton. Just 4 days left of school now... I'm counting down.
False Reality - July 17, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
Well, after months of nothing and expecting to go to DisneyWorld, we aren't. Which I'm fine with. Becuase my mom got some bad reviews of it from other people, and in July there's way to many people and it's blazing hot. There's also a realistic chance of a hurricane. >_>
But we are going to St. Louis, Missouri next week probably to visit the St. Louis Zoo, The Arch, Busch Gardens (or whatever it's called now), and a few other places. We'll be staying there for atleast fouur days. ^^
Sapphire_flame - July 17, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
My family still has time to decide. >_>. Seriously, we (my familiy) know we're going somewhere, we just don't know where. We usually go in like the last couple weeks before school, so that gives us like a month or so.

Italy? *gasps* You are such a luckie duck! I want to go to Italy so bad! I think we will go there sometime for my birthday, but not soon, sadly.
citrus - July 18, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
Well...I went to Italy for two weeks in June
I don't think I'll be traveling anymore this summer ><
Indigo - July 20, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
It's winter here where I am, so I'm more interested in staying at home, wrapped up in a blanket.
When it does reach summer, however, I plan to spend the entire six weeks at the beach. I'll sleep there if I have to. I love the beach. I hate living in the city. I'm too far away. I grew up on the coast. It's crazy!
photine - July 20, 2006 05:22 PM (GMT)
WELL my Summer as far hasn't been too exciting. On the list for things to do was: 2 weeks in Italy in June, going to Las Vegas with visiting relative, and then the eventual move to Maine for the start of schooling.
Italy was perfect. Las Vegas was hot. Maine will be terrifying. (Haha I hope not but you know, I'm leaving the nest :(.)
drendoynk - July 22, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
I've been almost everywhere in the world, but I have to say, I went to the World Cup this year... it was probably the most incredible month of my life, I cheered for so many teams just to keep the party rollin'
Jess - July 24, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
We don't really do holidays any more -- I think we stopped because mum and dad wanted to spend the money on other things at first, and now we just can't afford it. (The last holiday I went on was about four/five years ago, with my nana.) Oh, actually, I just remembered – my nana did say she might take us away for the weekend somewhere next month.
My mum and dad split up a month or two too, which means I'll get to go spend a week or weekend with my mum (all the way down in Cambridge ;/), my sister and my niece sometime during August. My niece will be getting christened at the same time, which is the main reason I'm going. Besides that I think I just have my astronomy course to look forward to, along with stuff for college. Good job I have all you guys to keep me company. :P
Gypsy t Potter - August 2, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
Well, the summer holiday has passed for me, but I thought I'd share anyway - as it is quite intresting.
I spent a week at the San Diego Seaworld in a Career Camp. No, I have no intention in going into the field of Marine Biology, but it was an adventure and a way to spend time with my neice and nefew. The amount of dead fish I handled and distrubuted can not be imagined. Let's put it this way, it took a week for the smell to completly dissappate. It was intresting and I learned alot, but it isn't something I'd pursue on a day to day basis.
And three days after that, our family took a five day trip to Disney Land. Not as unusual, but still fun!
thoushaltkissme - August 2, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
TESS! Disneyland! *shrieks*
Yes, yes, on that summer vacation to Disneyland she speaks of, I got to meet her!
SEE WHAT RPGS DO?!? They make it so you have new friends! Cause Tess and I did first start talking through our Grey's Anatomy RPG.
:]
Anyway, my summers being sucking so far, besides for meeting Tess. I was supposed to go to New York, but then my mom backed out. *pout*
Mattie - August 5, 2006 12:16 AM (GMT)
I'm currently in Charlotte North Carolina staying with my sister before I go back to boring ol Illinois
Top Kirby - August 8, 2006 08:50 PM (GMT)

Mischiefkayla - August 1, 2007 09:21 AM (GMT)
Well, I spent a week in Ireland, and then at the end of August I am spending a week in France. Nothing as exciting as Disney world or anything like you guys are going.
Have fun.
Dannio - August 2, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
Just got back from orlando - america was ace
Amelie - August 3, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
The only place that I am going this summer is to my Mema's (grandma). Which is only one state away. I was supposed to go to New York but well yeah that didn't happen...
xgenesisx - August 4, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
I am going up north (I live in Michigan, its what we say here...) to a private lake where my family rents a cabin every year. It's so peaceful. A week full of nothing but swimming, sunbathing, fishing, reading, writing, and having drinks and roasting marshmallows over a campfire. Mmmm....love it. I'm actually leaving a week from today, and I can't wait. ^_^
hl0890 - August 13, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
I'm going to California on Thursday, but I'm not so excited about it though. I mean, I'm not really thrilled about he long lines and expensive merchandise at Disneyland, which I'm a bit old for, and Universal Theme Park. I hope Universal has a movie theatre though, I mean, they should, right? Hopefully they have IMAX there too. I would love to watch Harry Potter again in IMAX.
Anyone ever been to either Disneyland or Universal so you can tell me what they have there? (smile)
Cecile - August 13, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
I'm going to Croatia with my boyfriend next week - finally it's time, it must be 6 months since we finally booked the trip. So I'm looking forward to travel a bit, get away from home and see an entirely new country I haven't been in before. Last year we went to Crete, where we had both been before. This year we decided to try a country, where none of us had been before - since I've travelled a lot, it was a bit difficult when it had to be cheap... but we chose Croatia :D
xdreamers - August 22, 2007 11:08 AM (GMT)

Zippy - May 5, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
Well, since it's now May, I'm thinking about our summer vacation plans and where we're going. Which will probably in all likelihood wind up being nowhere, unless you count road trips. This is not a bad thing -- I love my family (I swear, they're the best ever) and no matter what we do it always winds up being awesome. We do crazy things and laugh ourselves silly, even if we're just cooking out on the grill in the backyard.
Here are some of the things we will probably do this summer:
• Drive around our county and look at the crazy roadside stuff.
• Spend more than a few hot summer afternoons swimming at the lake.
• Hike in the mountains and try out that new trail I've been itching to get to.
• Eat lots of ice cream.
• Shoot off our own fireworks in the backyard.
• Take a couple of day trips into Philadelphia and possibly NYC.
• Spend a weekend down the shore in New Jersey, complete with boardwalks and blueberry picking on the way home (this is probably just wishful thinking).
• Travel to my sister's home in Virginia for my mom's birthday.
December, Esq - May 5, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
Hell.
But because I know that one-word answers don't cut it here, I'll supplement it with this: I'm going nowhere save to school. I may help my sister move into her dorm, but that's all.
SamanthaJean - May 6, 2008 02:49 AM (GMT)
I will be going to the beach and possibly South Carolina.
Emma - May 6, 2008 05:39 AM (GMT)
Summer? What is this absurdity!? It's going into winter, fools!
Hopefully I shall go skiing (about an hour away).
Atricea - May 6, 2008 12:42 PM (GMT)
Well in June me and my boyfriend (with whom I had the best trip to Croatia with last year) are going to Sweden to spend one night in Kristianstad. Then nothing in July, and then comes August where we're going to Tunesia in nothing less but two weeks  it's going to be great, and I'll see Karthago, and the place Luke Skywalker was raised, and Sahara... it's 20 years since I last was in Africa and it's going to be great :p
Rae - May 6, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
Nowhere fast.
Me and my roomie have a place in town and will be staying at college over the summer. Summer school and research parties, lots of fun. :p
AshBeanNun - May 6, 2008 01:23 PM (GMT)
The usual places. Music Camp and South Carolina, along with a weekend retreat and some other random places. Mostly I'll be at home working.
BLIX. - May 18, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Disney World Florida in just two weeks!
*Squee*
I can barely contain my ridiculous amounts of excitement. Nor the horror of spening nearly 3 years scrapings and savings on one holiday, lol!
okami - May 19, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
I'm going to Scotland with by best friend aaand to Bremen with my family.
shaun056 - May 19, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
Myself and a small group of friends are going to London on our anually holiday. Last year we went to Minehead, a small seaside town about 60 miles from where I live.
This year we were thinking of either going to Edinbrugh but oddly enough, London worked out cheaper. We're all students so we're staying at Baden Powell Hostel with the added bonus that, as we are all/were all scouts we get a 15% discount.
Will be very fun and I can't wait to go!
Sunday - May 19, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
We're going on a week-long cruise after my graduation to three spots in Mexico (Cozumel, among others). After that, I'm going to Chicago with my mom, and possibly New York. Then I'm off to college! =)
Mimizi - May 19, 2008 08:14 PM (GMT)
Be sure to pack for all four seasons Sunday - Chicago is crazy this time of year (:
As for me, I'll be going to Florida for my cousin's wedding - and then a week later will be flying to ITALY to spend the summer with my best friend!
