Title: Skin Help
Description: I am so clueless about skins!

CamukaGirl - July 3, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
Heyy, I have just started up a new wild horse RPG called Silent Valley.

And I am completely clueless about skins. I need some help, advice, or if someone would be kind enough to make me one I would be so happy!

It almost seems like this is the wrong spot to post this but, I cannot recall the name of the forum that would be the right place. However, I do have a suggestion. One being that there are many sites and forums that offer pre-made skins and being that you know absolutely nothing about skins, would be the best choice to start off with. Doing this will give you time to gradually absorb things because I am not sure how many people would be willing to make a skin for you and hold your hand when it comes to editing it as far as announcement boxes go. This is why I think it would not really be a great idea to get a custom skin from someone. Sure it will look great but, how great is it going to be when you want to edit things and you have no idea what to do so you risk the chance of messing up what someone worked so hard on. At that point, asking the same person who made the skin for additional help would kind of be a moot point...

My advise is to simply find a good looking pre-made skin and use it, get your feet wet and give yourself time to get to know your way around the structure of a skin. Having someone make you one from the start may not be a good idea if you don't know anything about skinning because you have no idea how advanced they are gonna be or if you will even be able to manage the skin.

I suggest you start with looking around at the proboards support forum. And in our sidebar is a link to RPGC, which also offers skins for proboards forums. Those would be better places to go to ask for support for proboards etc.

Good luck!
