Title: School Rpg With Available Teacher Positions

Upsilamba - July 3, 2008 01:09 AM (GMT)
Genre: any sort of non-fantasy school RP (e.g. boarding school, high school, prep school, performing arts school, etc.)
Difficulty: I'll look over the rules and people's posts before joining to see if I would fit in well, so feel free to suggest sites of any difficulty
Type(s) of Creature(s): humans
Preferred Rating: PG-13 or R
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: a small-ish but active group would be ideal, but anything is fine so long as a new person wouldn't drown in all of the other members
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: roughly the present

Other Notes: I'm interested in playing the part of a teacher (most likely female), so I'd like an RP where there are teacher positions available and where there would be other teachers for my character to interact with (preferably already part of the site, but if my character would be one of the first teachers, that's okay too). Thanks!

We're a fantasy-ish site, but we allow human teachers. Check us out if ya want

Let’s take a look at the world today, shall we? All over the planet, there are humans who were born with abilities that aren’t all that normal and there are those who weren’t born human at all. The human population is widely ignorant of their existence and pretty much everyone wants to keep it that way. So what do you do with all the little gifted ones running around without control of their respective powers?

To help such youngsters, there are numerous schools that cater to their unique needs. They operate in secret, molding young minds and giving students a nurturing environment in which to develop and control their abilities.

Okay, that’s all fine and dandy, but what if you get expelled? It used to be the end of the story. Once one school got rid of a kid, they were blacklisted and couldn’t attend any other. This situation usually ended badly for the one that got expelled since most never gained control over their ability and there are a many gifted people and non-humans alike that take great pains to keep their little world secret.

What if they never accepted you at all? There are those who were born with abilities others thought were just too dangerous to be allowed in their precious school. Or abilities they just didn’t know how to handle. These children were turned away, often meeting the same fate as expelled students.

Things changed in the late 70’s, though, thanks to a gifted man who managed to survive after being expelled from his abnormal school. And so St. Ambrose School for Wayward Boys came into being, its purpose being to take in any and all of those who were rejected from other schools no matter the reason. Due to this fact, the school is often called:

St. Ambrose School for the Damaged, Deranged, and Strange

What kind of RP are you looking for?
Something completely based on school life, or just a site that would be inclusive to teachers and students?]

Because I have a new site that's based in the real world, in a college town.
And while the plot doesn't revolve solely on the university, it plays a major role in the city's story, and many of the characters are students.

I have two characters on the site, A male professor in his early thirties, and the daughter of the school president, just coming in as a freshman in the fall.

The Plot is kind of Stephen King-ish.. We're exploring the ideas of convergent and lucid dreaming, as well as parallel worlds (the main plot has to do with a parallel universe beginning to merge with our own, and the ghost-like figures of their world beginning to appear in reflections, be heard over radios, caught on film.. etc. Finding their way over to our side.)

We're brand new, and hoping to start up fairly soon. But we want to have a few more members on board before we begin.

If you're interested I can post an official advert for the site; if not sorry for wasting your time. :)

Both of those sound a bit too fantasy-ish for my tastes, but thanks for posting XD

Unsure if Little Jimmy is right for you?

A small town with about 8,000 good hard working Southern folk in it. Football Nights are like a religious holiday here. The girls pretty themselves up for a wild night of partying and sex every Tuesday and Thursday. When Monday rolls around, the kids are caught skipping to hang out at Montana’s or City Limits. Sometimes, the braver ones dare to go to McDowell’s Hole.

Twenty years ago, a program was re-introduced into Little Jimmy's perfect world. Honky Tonk Angels. An association where they took young high school students who had found themselves in trouble with the law and the harsher ways of life out of NYC into the country. There the students were placed with foster families for the year as they worked with the kids to straighten out their lives. The program still thrives today with the children of the original lifers and angels. Unfortunately much like the Little Rock, Arkansas disaster some of the folks in Little Jimmy aren't so...

Welcoming. The older families in town aren’t so welcoming towards the newcomers as some nasty words have been flying back and forth. It seems the town’s secrets of racism and prejudice seem to be leaking out at every turn. A team of low-end FBI agents has come to Little Jimmy in hopes of keeping the peace. However, can years of hatred and prejudice slip away like the wind? Or will relationships be tested and lines crossed?[/align]

people want that simple escape from life. that…vacation away, right? well, this isn’t a fun vacation. this is life. life can be a bitch and when you pull the horns, oh, you get the bull, there’s no denying that. but, in a world where social hierarchy take the reigns, there’s always that one person that stuns the masses. it’s true no matter where you go, especially in school. well, you know those stories about how the upper east side of new york is the place to be? the rumors weren’t lying there, sweetheart. you’re always being watched no matter how invisible you are. stalked? well, we don’t like to go that far, but sometimes people like to have someone else to watch while their world is crashing down to nothing. besides, you’re no one unless talked about and everyone wants to be that it girl or that shining star in the skies. don’t deny it. we know you love the lime light.

but, let’s be serious, people. this is new york. everyone talks about everyone and everyone fights for that time in the lights and we’re not talking broadway. what sets you apart from everyone else? and remember, no one ever forgets who you used to be, no matter where you go. the world is smaller than you think. but, don’t let us tell you, come and find out how small it really can be when you join us on the upper east side.

Looking good; I've bookmarked a couple of the sites and might join, but keep 'em coming.

We might be something that you are looking for. It is a new site, so there are only a few characters so far, but we have been advertising more. No teachers yet, so if you join, you would be one of the first.

The preferred rating is PG-13 but R is allowed - separate threads. The set time is current, and it is a human art school. The difficulty is various, so anyone from a beginner to an advanced can join.

Welcome to the very lofty and prestigious Northstar Academy.

Located in the mountainous terrain of Alaska, it’s definitely far from average. After all, how many small towns have moose that get the right of way or deer eating your garden. The ever wonderful warnings of bears and how you’re not supposed to feed Romeo the wolf, though everyone does. It’s nice, peaceful town that makes going to the wondrous institute that is Northstar, a little better.

Like any other boarding school there is the problem of students discovering just how free they are around here. Sure they probably won’t go running off to some other city since they’re kind of far away, but no one ever seems ready for their first encounter with the wild. Not to mention, there’s the nasty little habit of kids sneaking off to the club and getting plastered. Missing curfew like bad little children, but that’s still rather nice compared to what goes on in the school.

Inside the sacred halls of Northstar everything is a battle. Ever since the need to divide the students up by names and place them into different houses, there have been massive problems. Perhaps it’s a nice thing that these kids show loyalty for their houses, but it’s not always so sweet and wholesome. In fact, during spirit weeks it’s sheer hell for most. Horribly into their fractions, each one seems to have this superiority complex over the other three. And most teachers look the other way being former students as well. Even still, each house has their own distinct attitude if you will.

No one seems to make as much noise as Grizzly house, though they do seem to get a certain kick out of leaving messes in Eagle house late in the night. Not that Ptarmigan and Wolf don’t help out there as well. But Ptarmigan is also fairly nice, allowing anyone into their halls for a fee. They swear it‘s to keep the vending machine they managed to obtain, well stocked. But compared to the ‘No Outsiders Allowed’ rule of Wolf, they’re down right charming. And Eagle, well, they don’t really do much although some of their students are the prime suspect for the vandalism that tends to occur in other houses.

And while not all of the students of Northstar are so attached to their houses, the other’s are what’s gained the school it’s reputation. After all, no one wants to be dumber then the idiots in Wolf House or worse at sports than those Grizzly slobs. Some say that such need to be better builds character, other’s just think it draws away from what the school should be, a school. But change doesn’t seem to be on the horizon as much as all out war between houses.

Welcome to Northstar Academy, kids. Enjoy your stay.
