Title: Do You Take Things Seriously?
Description: not talking about your sense of humor...
Sunday - July 2, 2008 04:58 AM (GMT)
As it says in the topic description, I'm not talking about your sense of humor. Just... how do you generally react to things? Do you find yourself easily stressed, or does everything slide off your back?
I'm definitely the latter. I don't take much seriously, even when I probably should. I'm so laid-back; it's definitely a flaw. Type B personality, heyooo.

I'm a serious person >>; I take EVERYTHING to heart and I make a big deal out of nothing. I'm always a ball of stress (unless I'm with certain people, where I relax a little), and I typically always get the, "You're too serious, chill!" I know a lot of people who are totally laidback and I'm a little envious. I want to be able to not let life pass me by, yet it still does.

^ Don't think because you're serious you're letting life pass you by. I am so laid-back and everything, but for the same reason, I don't really appreciate things like I (probably) should. =(

Haha well my problem is that I get SO tense that I actually make myself ill. In fact, I'm going for massages every once in a while now to work out the knots in my back, and when she does them they hurt. I'd like to be a little more relaxed so that, when things don't work out the way I expected them to - I'm a girl who likes to plan things out but has discovered that spotaneity works far more in my favour - I don't get upset and tense about it. And that's just one example. I admit, being too relaxed isn't always a good thing either, but I think that, in the long run, the people who ARE relaxed enjoy life more, because they don't spend it freaking out about every little thing.

Half and half, I'd say. Generally, my attitude is that life is too short to be worried and doing homework and that sort of stuff all the time, but sometimes I become so engrossed in something that I nearly give myself a heart attack. There are some non-serious things I take far too seriously.
Oh, I voted that I'm not serious.

I'm generally not that serious, to the point that even I can realize it can be a flaw. Not that I actually care enough to change m'self...

I'm half and half as well but I started off as being horrendously serious so I voted for that. I thought failing a quiz in fifth grade would affect the rest of my life; it was that bad. Then in highschool, I just learned to let it go because I figured out that it wasn't worth it. I lapse into it sometimes but otherwise, I try not to let every little thing get me down.

I worry about everything, panic easily, and generally have lots of problems with my nerves. xD Sometimes I just really wish that I could just chill out and stuff.

Not serious. The main thing I'm serious about is not eating at Mexican restaurants every week. Hello! My digestive system just can't take that kind of abuse. ;)
But seriously (ha!), I'm a very easy going kind of person and don't generally let differing opinions, disorganization, or generalized chaos stress me out. I mean, my pants literally caught on fire one time while I was wearing them and I just put them out. No big deal.

Oh deary me... I haven't really stopped to think about it, but now that I do, I really am a ball of nerves. >.> I take a lot of things seriously. I like to plan out my steps before taking them. For example, I like to think about what route I'm going to take to get into town. >.> I also don't do very well with impromptu (in reference to acting or acting on my toes). I get nervous about little things. Whereas somebody normal would laugh off a mistake they made, I would be planning escape routes in my head. ><
I think I need to chill. A little. >.>

I think I'm serious in a non-serious way... I mean, I can be serious and all, but I don't get easily stressed. A good example is exams, where everyone else are constantly panicking and saying they'll fail and all, even when I know they're better than me. And then we have the exam, and all I think about is "I'll be happy if I don't fail" where the others go "I need THIS grade or else I'll be unhappy"... I just don't want to get myself worked up over stuff like that... I just say that everything's going to be fine, and I'm usually right :)

I'm serious as hell. Back in middle school it used to be much, much worse... getting a C on a test made me thing that my whole career would be ruined. Now, I'm somewhat more laidback... but not really. XD I have horrible stress problems and a really tensed up back. D< I have to get massages all the time, and it hurts... SO MUCH, every freckin' time.

I consider myself to be rather easy going and less serious. Mind you there are things that I take seriously like my daughter, my savings, going green and school.
In my day to day, I let things roll of my back. I don’t stress if I fail a test or if someone is rude to me. There are just so many worse things that can happen to you in life so I don’t let the small things bother me.

I'm generally apathetic towards most things :D

I'm sore of a mix... I make a joke out of everything - whatever problem I'm facing I usually make the most outlandish joke and try to laugh and or shrug it off.
*shrug* tis how I am
Deputy Dingo - July 13, 2008 07:10 AM (GMT)
I'm more serious but it doesn't mean I don't joke. I think it's just that for the past six years or so the things I've been dealing with have been more serious overall so I tend to take most things seriously. But there are always a few friends I can chill out with a joke with all the time without looking for hidden meanings.
Sicaluff - July 16, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
Hehe. This is easy for me xD. Definitely non-serious. I find pretty much everything amusing. Unless I'm pissed off, which is rare. =DD

I'm mostly serious. When others make jokes, I joke with them. But when people joke about me, it's not funny to me and I don't like it. I say what I think all the time, and tend to be serious.I also worry about what other people think, get stressed easily (I do have a bad temper and am a worrywart). I tend to talk about serious things a lot, like health issues (that REALLY is a big worry of mine).
Facebook fights stress me out (they have happened), and other various things that I view important. I have anxiety disorder, which is not fun at all.
But I am laid back in some areas. I sometimes forget to do things like take my medication. I'm not one who excercises a lot, I take a few walks some days and a lot of times I like to sleep until noon and take an afternoon nap.
Overall, I am more serious than laid-back.
