Title: How Do You Choose Your PBs?

Sunday - July 1, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
I choose my PBs mostly by how well they fit the character I have in mind, but they need to be attractive to me. I am shallow when it comes to avatars, I admit, lol. But if I really lke the character, I'll pick a PB I feel suits it best, even if I don't find them super omg!attractive. They just have to suit the image of my character...

Of course, I have occasionally made a character around a PB. But not for serious roleplaying, lol.

I voted for B. I'm really anal when it comes to PBs and the face has to fit what I see in my head. Person could be the hottest thing in the world and I'd still skip over them if they weren't what I was looking for.

Definitely practicality. I have also passed over some very attractive people because I simply could not find pictures of them that fit. A lot of what I look for in a PB is dependent upon the character, and what matches my ideas for that character.

I chose the fourth one. It's not really an "attractiveness" quality, as I've had some PBs that have been not really attractive. It's more of a "star" quality or a "sparkle" that just makes them interesting to look at. They have to have some of that, but they mostly have to fit my character.

I do both. I pick someone I like the looks of, that fits my character. I guess I pay a little more attention to B than A, but if I just can't stand the way someone looks, then I'm not gonna use them for a character since I'd have to look at them all the time! XD

But someone doesn't need to be uberhawt for me to use them as a playby or anything. Just not fugly.

The main site I play on doesn't require them. I usually choose depending on a superficial resemblence to what I had in mind when I designed my character, and the attitude the person in pictures presents.

I certainly don't choose according to how attractive they are. I often have characters who are supposed to be unattractive and it's hard to find unattractive play-bys.

I chose the last option.
It has to fit with what I have in my head. That being said, I've only RPed originally like, once.
Haha.

I'm a sucker for a canon.

When I create characters, I'm completely incapable of visualizing them. I have their body type and facial features and all that worked out, but I simply can't see them in my mind's eye. So when I'm looking for PBs I try to find someone that makes me say 'Hey, I can see them doing such and such stuff!' or 'Hey, they have so-and-so's expressions!' Beauty doesn't matter, just so long as the PB manages to give me a mental image I'm happy.

I usually tend to picture the character in my head. Then I go out on a PB hunt for something that looks as close as possible to that image. Of course that usually takes a long time. I'm very picky about who I used as my PB's.

I went with option B.

Usually, I get a specific idea in my mind of what the character I created looks like, and then I find a PB that is as close as I can get to how I pictured my character. Sometimes though, because I can't find the perfect PB to represent my character, I simply can't bring myself to join the site because my character wouldn't be exactly as I imagined them. ^^

It's sad really.
