Title: Got Have A Quickie

carmen - July 1, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Shooooo. Hey there.

Call me Carmen or Ducky or Bubbles or just go ahead and make up a new name of your own to call me. I won't bore you with any other details about me other than the small fact that I ... well, need some help managing my board.

I'm not exactly the best at making boards and setting them up but i think with practice over the year, i've gotten fairly good at it. i'm getting better at codes and all that neat stuff.

but here's my problem. or really questions.

1) how do I add the 'quick log-in' to my sidebar

&

2) how do i upload buttons onto my site? i have the buttons in winzip but don't see anywhere to upload them.

if anyone can help me, that would be SO awesome!

btw, here's a link to the site
clicky

CODE
<div class='tableborder'>
<div class='maintitle'><img src='http://209.85.62.23/style_images/1/nav_m.gif' border='0' alt='' width='8' height='8'>Login</div>
<form style='display:inline' action="YOURURLHERE ?act=Login&CODE=01&CookieDate=1" method="post">
<div align='center'>
Name: <input type="text" class="forminput" size="10" name="UserName" onfocus="this.value=''" value="User Name" /><br>
P/W: <input type='password' class='forminput' size='10' name='PassWord' onfocus="this.value=''" value='ibfrules' />
<input type='submit' class='forminput' value='Go' />
</div>
</form>
</span></div>
</div>

is for the quick login, put it somewhere perhaps on a sidebar or something.

As for the images, I believe you upload them, there's a certain place that lets you [one I get on one of my IF sites I can tell you], and after that they're always there.

OK!

The upload place is in Member Title/Rank, at the bottom it says "Upload PIP / Image."

After you upload, it is selectable from a dropdown menu

awesome! thanx!

i figured there was a spot to upload them but i looked all over my admin place and can't find anywhere that would let me upload anything.

okay, so now i have the quick log-in but its not working. it'll act like it is but it wont change the user.

what parts do i need to change?

SJWinchester - July 2, 2008 05:18 AM (GMT)
What is it actually doing? Perhaps change the code altogether. I'm actually not sure if my code works.. nobody has had to use it yet. If you still need one, I might be able to give you one. Not sure.

carmen - July 2, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
well, it's up alright. i can put in my username and password and click submit or enter and it loads the page again but it doesn't log me in.

i may be doing it wrong ... the code, i mean.

Blue Bloods - July 2, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
CODE
<div><form style='display:inline' action="http://z4.invisionfree.com/wsmb/index.php?act=Login&amp;CODE=01&amp;CookieDate=1" method="post">
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1">
<tr><td><font color=black>identity:&nbsp;</font></td>
<td><input type="text" width="120" class="forminput" size="10" name="UserName" onfocus="this.value=''" value="" /></tr><tr><td><font color=black>password:&nbsp;</font></td>
<td><input type='password' width="120" class='forminput' size='10' name='PassWord' onfocus="this.value=''" value='' /></td>
</tr></table><input type='submit' class='forminput' value='Switch User' /></form></div>

Change this: "http://z4.invisionfree.com/wsmb/index.php?" to your board link. Otherwise it will try to log you into my site. lol

The code works. I use it currently.

wow, thanks a lot!!

now i just need to fix that upload button thing and i'm good!

Blue Bloods - July 2, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
okay, you shouldn't have much issue with that. let me know if you need help. just what jrl said, and then once you upload edit that user group and select that image for it. easy peasy :)

carmen - July 2, 2008 10:47 PM (GMT)
well, i got the skin and the creator of the skins had buttons to go with it. you know the 'reply' and the 'edit' buttons? those kind of buttons. i dont know where to upload it.

im still learning stuff.

carmen - July 2, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
ahh, he edited it xD thats why!
i'll try that now.
would the fact that all the files are in winzip have anything to stop it from doing it normal?

carmen - July 2, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
okay, it only lets me use them as PIPS, not actual images T__T

Blue Bloods - July 2, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
Oh! You're not talking about pips at all then! Here's the deal. What we were telling you was how to upload images to use for the member groups, because that's the only thing you host on IF.

Now, the buttons you have to host off site using photobucket or tiny pic.
I recommend photobucket.com. I have two accounts there, one for hosting random images, and one for my sigs, and professionalesk graphics.

So once you upload them to photobucket, you go to "Images" and change their link for your own, click the box, and submit.

To upload on photobucket you can do this a few ways. If the person who made them has them up right click and select "view image". Then copy the url it gives you.

Then open photobucket, and select upload from "web url". Then input the url you got, and hit upload. Then you will have hosted that image for use.

Carmen, we don't allow double posting on RPG-D. I know you just got here (Welcome!) so there's no warning or anything, but for future reference, it's just as easy to edit your first post as it is to hit the little Reply button again.
