Title: Not -that- Picky
Description: Advanced-only, though

EmmiJade - June 30, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
Genre:

Well, I'm not too terribly picky about genre. I would really like an original RP, but I also wouldn't mind Star Wars, X-Files/Supernatural, that sort of thing. Some things I DO NOT want are as follows:

-I already run a Harry Potter RP, so I don't really need another one.
-I already run a mutant RP, so I don't really need another one.
-Do not, under any circumstances, hand me a Twilight RP. I hate Twilight. With a passion. Do not ask; I will eat your liver.

Difficulty: Advanced only, please. I would prefer a board where the users are at least eighteen years of age, if not 21 and older.

Type(s) of Creature(s): Not picky.

Preferred Rating: R or Mature
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Any
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Any

Other Notes:

I've not got anything -against- teenagers, per se, but I would like to RP within my own age group (twenty and up) so the age requirement thing is kind of important. :D Thank you!

Emmi

Sorry about earlier; my computer malfunctioned and everything messed up. Fixed now, though. Also, I would appreciate it if you would tell me why I should join your site, instead of just posting an ad. :D

[btw, you might want to use the form...o-o im no mod or anything, but i know that people use that a lot, so i think its mandatory or something]

Hmm, we're an original RP. So maybe we might spark your interest some? We're a literate-to advanced rp site. But we're pretty much advanced, so ^-^ Check this out

EDITED BY LittleRikku

We're a new site, so the amount of different roleplayers are about 10 or 11, but with several characters to keep things interesting. However, we're as active as hell.

Age group shouldn't be too bad for you because our members are 13+, however, we have members who are 18-24, and that makes up about 4 members so far, so you shouldn't feel lost.

We're an easy going and incredibly friendly group. And we're still starting new, so it's not too confusing yet with history and what has gone on. ^-^ However, as easy-going as we are, we do make sure to keep facts straight and to always search for improvement. We value every member, and dont have little cliches or anything like many sites do.

But yeah, hopefully you choose us.

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.

Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.

But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

Look no further for Supernatural. Here is our small little ad. We are a friendly bunch. There are a lot of characters and types of creatures. We are currently not accepting non-canon hunters, demons, or psychics at this time because we have so many. Need to keep things evened out. It is only a temporary ban though.

We would love to have you.

2376
The Dominion has been defeated. Against all odds, the Federation of Planets and its allies were victorious. Many brave souls gave their lives for the cause—soldiers and civilians, friends and family, leaders and lovers—but it finally seems that once more everything is safe and well in the galaxy.

The war criminals who aided the Dominion now face trial - but by whom? You see, even the most noble wars cause damage. Even the wars with the best intention behind them cause problems.

Anarchy
Out of all the powers involved in the Dominion War, the Cardassian Union suffered the most. Their capital planet of Cardassian Prime was utterly destroyed, leaving the survivors to live in a place of anarchy, famine, and disease. While their other colonies and territories may not have suffered the same destruction, with their government destroyed they cannot do much to keep the pieces together.

Tension
While still intact, the Romulan Star Empire came out of the war with its own political problems to sort out. Fighting alongside their old enemies left a growing rift between the Romulan people. Should they return to the isolationist ways, or should they entertain the idea of staying on the Federation's good side?

The Klingon Empire finds it's self in a similar situation. Do they separate themselves from the Federation or do they continue what has become an improbable - but strong - relationship? The issue could tear apart Qo'noS and what little is left of the Klingon Empire.

Recovery
The Federation - and all involved in the war - are trying to rebuild. Havoc has been wrecked throughout Federation space. The Federation feels they have a duty to keep law and order in the alpha and beta quadrants during this troubled time, but how can they do that when half their resources - both in people and technology - are gone?
____________

We are a somewhat free-form Star Trek RPG, set shortly after the end of the Dominion War. Our purpose is to address the end of the war issues left behind after the finale of Deep Space Nine.

E V A L E S C O . C I T Y

U•to•pi•a
–noun

1. an ideal place or state.
2. place that does not exist.

2012. The world is a fetid place. Pollution has caused men and women to become incapable of reproducing. Earth has evolved into a pig-pen for crooks, frauds, murderers, and hungry capitalists without the sound of childrens’ laughter. Although the adults that are left can credit technology to living a longer, healthier life, human population all over the globe cannot sustain itself due to a zero percentage birth-rate in every country. The green planet has become a fiercely dog-eat-dog world, and all hope is diminished.

Please, please
Give me a re-mix

The Beginning
A group of desperate scientists make a discovery twenty years later, a human fetus that is strong enough to survive. Despite mutations and errors in the process, the scientists kept going with their experimentation and when she was nine months old they discovered that she had powers beyond any normal human. Her powers seemed to correlate with her spider-like appearance, but the WDBCC were delighted: they had an idea. They devised a plan to make more of these mutated children to use them for their own advantages. With a whole army of mutants on their side there would be no limits to what they could accomplish, or control.

Not the End
A year after the "birth" of the "spider-child", something rare took place in Scotland. A small town had a pregnant woman inhabiting their community. She had a baby boy, soon named by the awed villagers as "Angeles". He has unexplainable powers that many believe is a gift from a merciful divinity. Almost fifty years later, and the boy is well past childhood. A new city has grown around the school that he established for gifted children like himself and has been known as a safe haven for individuals looking for a better life. This is Evalesco.

The Rise of the Mafia
Soon, a new group mushrooms up and wants a piece of the profit that the scientists are making. Consisting of gifted and civilians alike, they make an ultimatum with the WDBCC. By making their own profits, the third party grows stronger than ever, but they secretly remain neutral to the world and the scientists.

Your Turn
Now it is up to the people to make their own decisions. All three classes are united with one dream: an invincible Utopia. But will a dream be enough to stop a war that could wipe out those who remain?

Hmm~ :3 At lot of the roleplayers at 'Souls are in their twenties. I'm one of the few younger players left (17), and the bulk of everyone else is older :P We've got a few moms in the house as well, haha.

It's most certainly an original rpg and has a lot of original ideas. We even have our own rp guide since there's a lot to the world constructed and the playable species.

It's a werecanine rpg in a post-apocalyptic Canada (Halifax! :D We were farther north, but we decided to move ) and there are no humans at all. Canines have taken over as the animal at the top of the food chain for the most part due to their adaptability. Canines that possess the ability to shift are called Luperci. There are two types of Luperci as well- born and transmitted. Every Luperci technically has the ability to shift into three of the forms- Lupus (wolf), Secui (halfling) and Optimus (were).

We've a myriad of characters and personalities, plenty of people to roleplay with. I'd love to see a new face over at 'Souls as well. (: If you like, you can check the open characters list to see which characters are in need of players. They're not 'canons' in the regular sense, but characters that are involved in plots due to their familial connections and the like. :]

The rp is rated PG-13, but mature threads are allowed so long as they are marked as 'mature.

Here's our ad if you'd like to take a look: '

'Souls is a post-apocalyptic world. Humans have long extinguished themselves with a military virus, yet the wildlife persists. The Canis family in particular seemed to adapt very well and evolved the ability to change into a bipedal from, the Luperci. Others have not, the Luperci Nonnisi. Some embrace this newfound gift, others loathe it with passion. Some treasure the shifting ability, some grapple with it...

Since 2001, 'Souls  has provided an interesting and stimulating in character experience to roleplayers of many skill levels and ages. Our In Character environment provides an experience for both those wishing to roleplay wolves as well as those who wish to play a character beyond the average wolf. Our Out of Character environment is friendly and laid-back, with contests, games and other fun things for members to participate in. Discussions, debates, and questions are welcome and encouraged. Bleeding Souls is always looking to add new members to its ranks!

'Souls  has been a consistent and favorable roleplaying environment for all roleplayers. The general game rating is PG-13. More mature threads are welcomed though, as long as they are clearly marked. The administration is experienced and fair. The general population of the game is more than willing to help out any newcomers to the experience.

Check 'Souls  out today on our domain, bleeding-souls.com or on our forums.

We hope to see you soon!

Twenty five years ago Amana was becoming a truly dark place. Aelin Telimar was only a small push away from plummeting the nation into a war that would tear her apart. Only two very special beings, from Aelin's own future, could stop him. And it was for that reason that Jackline and Connor Telimar defied magical law and traveled through time to when they were only infants.

Once they had the people of Amana on their side, things were easy, and fairly quick to end. The twins, yes Jackline and Connor were in truth the children of Aelin, fought their father, with a little help, and managed to stop him. They believed they had killed him. And they might have if not for their little sister,Jocelyn Elanis, who was totally devoted to the man she considered her father.

Jocelyn used every bit of strength in her to defend her father, mostly without her siblings knowledge, and did succeed in saving his life. She hid him deep in the heart of Barena, for though he was alive, at the time he was very weak from the battle. But over the years since, he is regaining his old strength.

The time is coming closer. Will the darkness that the twins worked so hard to prevent return? Or will they be able to stop their father once and for all this time? Will Amana return to darker times?

Darkness, a pure abyss of nothing lies all around you. Silence deafens you as you fall, deeper and deeper into the darkness, the forever night stretching out around you. You continue to fall, deeper and deeper into the abyss of yourself, into the well of your power, until something catches you. A spreading white silken web stretching out beneath you cushioning your descent. Even as it catches you though you can feel the silken strands stretching and breaking beneath your weight until you fall through, knowing that the web that can sustain you lies deeper.

Can you dance the dance of the blood? Tangle with a Warlord Prince, a member of the blood who is as violent as he is passionate. Will you test your skill against the Black Widow, the poisonous witch who can see glimpses of the past, the future and the darkness that rules all? Will you serve as a Queen, watching over her territory and the people who call it home?

Can you learn to live with the Forever Night?

Forever Night is a relatively new site with enthusiastic players and many territory court positions are still open. We cater for RPers of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and all are welcome whether you've read the books or not.

So come, join us, and let the blood sing to the blood, through the forever night.

SmathNa - July 1, 2008 11:51 AM (GMT)
Thiasa is a totally original RP. :) That is, if you don't count the way I've plundered history and anthropology books to create it... we're based on medieval Italy and mesoamerica. We've got two groups on one island: one, a Bronze Age tribe, and the other, your more-or-less typical medieval kingdom. Genocide is on the menu. War is on the menu. A serf rebellion, political intrigue, and taboo-breaking romantic relationships--they're all there, too. Oh, and though we're labeled 'fantasy,' we don't have magic... I feel the world is complicated enough without it! We do have some interesting technology (our resident mad scientist just made some primitive mines) and a hallucinogenic drug (datura, it's a real plant), which makes some people believe in magic/miracles.

If you like your age group, the average age of players at Thiasa is 20; some are older, and I think only one or two are younger than 18... a great many characters are older. (We have a decent pool of 30 + soldiers, and I play a 50-year-old, but since we're historical, going too old would just result in doddering characters :p ).

We're technically rated PG-13, R with labeling, but we're really more like R. Lots of violence, some sex, lots of cursing, and mature themes (drug dealing, whores, war, etc.).

You didn't ask, but we're extremely active (20-80 posts a day, 70ish members, 122 characters), IC and OOC--our chatbox moves very quickly, and there's usually someone around to talk to. Our members are pretty good about answering questions, too, even if I'm not there. Generally, I try my best to stay on the site as close to 24/7 as I can (obsessive, much?) but with a fulltime summer job, it's a little harder. Still, I'm often there, and I ALWAYS make a point of talking to every new member personally and helping them to find people to RP and plot with; I also RP with every new member myself (or at least offer; same for most of the members).

Now, here's the part where I ask something from you. I know--that's unusual in a response to an advertisement. I ask that you read the site information--yes, we have information; it's to get people settled in our rather unique world, and for anyone of college age, it's not at all challenging. I also ask that you approach your character creation with an eye to the site plot; we love original characters (we also allow our members to add freely to the so-called 'canon' list, requesting family members, etc.), but we do emphasize characters who have some reasonable place on the site (say, in the army; as a maid at the garrisons; as a serf, part of our burgeoning rebellion; as a thief, as a transient, etc.... something realistic for the 'time period,' in short--no 'wandering womyn warrior in a chainmail bra' ;) ), and characters who are fleshed out and realistic.

I hope you're not daunted by my requests--I promise, on-site I'm very friendly (and silly--read our chatbox quotations for proof of this).

Oh--here's our site link: thiasa.org.

Best of luck with your search. I hope you find a home that suits.

    Welcome to Myridia.

Welcome to a small, flourishing metropolis of diverse cultures and knowledge. Welcome to a country of fascinating characters, magic, and wonder. Welcome to a world so familiar, and yet so different. Myridia is a land pressed between two powerful empires. It is a land struggling to survive under the gaze of giants, but had persevered for decades. Its magically gifted population gives it a powerful edge, as well as its strategic geographical position.

    But tides often change…

It is only a matter of time before one of the empires tries to take Myridia as just another prize in their war chest. It is only a matter of time before an empire brings blood and war to Myridia’s gates. This has caused tensions to stir uneasily amongst the proud people of Myridia. They begin to debate on their nation’s next move, with some calling out to submit to either of the greater territories.

Yet the pride of independence rings strong in many of the citizens; whether it be for tradition, for belief, or for pure ignorance.

But intrigue also churns within Myridia’s borders. With an active governance system in which political factions rule, the clashes within Myridia are often more fiery than those outside its borders. Everyone has a say, and political disagreement can often be dangerous, risky, and precarious. Factions fight for dominance, and the ever present guardianship of The Council looms silently.

A land built upon the ambitions, heartache, and passion of its people, Myridia is a place where the smallest of tales can have the most powerful of consequences.

In a land in which all factions have a say, a single voice might just make the difference.

    Will it be yours?
Betrayal. Intrigue. Deception.
M.Y.R.I.D.I.A

Come join us at Myridia! We’ve got an original, exciting plot going, and have many canon position still available-- although original characters are more than welcome. We are a vibrant, active community of role-players, and we’re a great place to indulge in smaller, more personalized character plots.

Melissa - July 1, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
While we do have a few players that are under the age of 18, most of them are adults. We are a mature board, with an active player base.

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.

In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.

You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.

Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.

It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.

What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?

Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.

Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.

I can't tell you exactly the ages of all the rpers on RoM, but I do know that they tend towards the more mature. I think that the majority are college students; a couple I know are even past that. We might have some younger, but in general the site's standards are very high, so I doubt that there's too many.

Plus, RoM is completely original! (It's fantasy/medieval). Please take a look and tell us what you think!

Fantasy is Reality . . .

Enter into a world divided.

With the fall of the Guilds, the Realm of Mystery descended into chaos, out of which rose two factions.

Noresh, place of life, preaches truth, justice, and honor.
Noctis, land of dark, tempts with the night’s honeyed poison.

Repelling and attracting, their dance is a delicate balance upon which the fate of the world rests. After all, there could not be night without day, or day without night . . .
. . . could there?

Yet now an even greater threat looms, and the two are caught in a shifty alliance that could fall apart with a single wrong move. Wanderers, unbound by pledges to either side, pursue their own agendas or seek to create their own power base. Others choose to unite with one of the two factions and test their worth from within. The promise to all beings has always been freewill, and the choice can be made only by you.

The Realm of Mystery is a freeform rpg where characters are the ones who create—or destroy—their world. Join Noctis, join Noresh, or set out on your own. Rise through the ranks or become the subtle shadow behind the throne. Throw havoc or negotiate peace—make friends or enemies—control magic or become a master of fighting—be a leader or a follower—blur the lines of reality to suit your needs. Create your character . . . . Create your destiny . . . . Create your world.

As an advanced roleplaying site, a "sample post" application is required to join. Once accepted, you will find active, supportive members who are helpful out of character and skilled roleplayers in character. Very few other sites are as long-running and creative as the Realm of Mystery, and nowhere else have individual members had the power to change and alter their world as they have on RoM. Join us, and learn the true meaning of magic.

Well its not Star Wars, its pretty close. Its a Halo board, but it is not set during the trilogy, so you dont need to have played the games to know what to do. There are no aliens in the RP, unlike most others. Its set during a Civil War also, and pits even brothers and sisters agianst each other.

Halo Conflict 2569

Based after the events of the Halo Trilogy, Conflict adds a totally new story to the Halo Universe. After the Human-Covenant War, most thought that the storm had passed and Humanity could become peaceful agian. However, thats not how we tend to work. Like the troubled times before the Great War, civil strife and rebellion started up agian.

With the governments of Humanity in shambles, early attempts to rebuild them were met with corruption and lack of authority. The UNSC took it upon themselves to become the Government of Humanity instead, leading to some rejection by the people under it.

Around 2557 a splinter faction named the United Colony Command split from the UNSC, claiming that the UNSC was corrupt and was not the government of the people. In the first round of the war, nuclear warfare was used on colonies. This was in the Paris Battles. This consisted of skirmishes across the Paris Colonies that ended up in nuclear warfare being used.

Lord Valieon, the UNSC Fleet Admiral was kidnapped by the UCC, and was killed infront of a number of UNSC officials. After Crystal McKay filled the spot, the Orgion Conventions were started to stop nuclear warefare. By 2569, both sides are locked in a seemingly everlasting battle spanning all of Human Controlled space.

You must join the fight, and pick between two sides that are neither good nor evil. Will you be able to participate in a Civil War and kill your fellow humans only 13 years after the end of the single most horrible war in Human history?

I have two roleplays, if you wanted to take a peek.

THEIR GREATEST ADVENTURE is a roleplay based on the tv show "The Tribe" about a virus that wipes out the entire adult population and the kids are left to fend for themselves and keep the dream alive.

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS is a roleplay based on several different crime shows like Monk, CSI, Bones, etc. The basic idea is that all of them are connected somehow to each other through one or three cases.

Both are low activity right now and I'm trying to revamp them up despite their being open for awhile now. Canons and originals are available. Writing level ... well, the most active players and usually the mods/admins are advanced. The tribe one has a couple who are more intermediate.

If you don't feel like joining, that's okay. At least it's entertainment for a few minutes, right? xD

here, we've got fallen interlude! we're a recently opened board centered around detroit city [modified to fit our needs]. three criminal families are competing for power in the city and only one can come out on top.

we're an advanced board with an R rating just in case things go too far, we're covered. we've got a small member base at the moment but we're looking to grow. i'm not quite sure but i believe that all of our members are 18+. i do know, however, that many of them are in college. we're active and friendly and we don't even accept teenaged accounts [no one younger than 18 considering the matter of the board]. an admin is usually always on several times a day so you can always feel free to question in the guest services forum or PM me here.

down, down, down

Detroit. Already one of the most infamous and dangerous cities in the world. One wouldn't think that it would be possible for this city to become even more so, but it has.

For years, the Colombians, Italians, and Russians had all held a shaky truce while they attempted to take their control over the city. Each 'gang' had their own specialty and each one was trying to rub out the other in subtle ways. The Colombian Cartel ran the best drugs, the Russian Mob had the best weapons and the Italian Mafia held great power in the city government. Unfortunately, they were always at war. One man, a great and respected leader from the old days, stepped up to bring peace to the city and offered a way to make the best of their strengths and weaknesses. Together, the three leaders from the three families and the revered leader were going to turn things around at a summit meeting in downtown Detroit. What happened then, no one can honestly tell you.

    Dead.

It was all over the news for weeks. The one that they called the Don was found dead in his hotel room the day before the meeting when all of the families and their people were in town and on edge. With such a loss to their last hope, it seems that everyone is pointing the finger at the other. The police just blamed the families and their war but the families are blaming one another. Who could have done this? The Colombians? Well, of course they want to own the drug world but what would they do with the whole city? The Russians? Americans still like democracy, thank you. The Italians? Those pasta loving morons would turn the city into some backwards third world village! So then... who?

If you listen very carefully, you can hear it.

down, down, down
pick me up, i'm falling...

Five years ago we were just highschool students but now we have graduated started familes and started our lives and for the first time in our lives havent depended on our parents to support us. we've made mistakes took chances and broke away from the world we knew. some of us had familes and raised them. some of those familes that started in highschool have fallen appart. some have stuck together, out of the darkness and into the sun.

Though i wont forget those of you that i loved. i wanted to feel the warm breeze sleep among the palm trees feel the rush of the ocean get on the fast train board on the air plane and break away. i spread my wings and learned how to fly, i worked a minimum wage job and learned how to earn how to move on and fly away, i learned how to start a business learn how to make a living learned so much in five years I've gotten out of the darkness and into the sun and i wont' for get the place i came from.
