Queen of the Spider-Bats - June 29, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
Genre: Harry Potter
Difficulty: Intermediate - advanced
Type(s) of Creature(s): Well whatever's allowed on the site ^^
Preferred Rating: pg13- r
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I would like something that's fairly active but with not so many members that I will feel too intimidated to join the plot (basically anything under 60 members but above 15)
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: It doesn't have to be hogwarts persay but I would like something set AFTER the war ^^

Other Notes:

I'm a tad lame but I LOVE playing the Care of Magical Creatures Teacher...and I have materials so I really can hold a class >.>

And I like playing quirky random students so hopefully there's enough of a plot to keep me interested XD

Also...I don't mind word minimums

Other than that I think I'm set >.>

BRING IT ON! :p

almost moon. - June 29, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
We're an AU Potter site, but we are fairly active and have 15+ members and not more than 60. We're an intermediate RPG, and all for posts longer than four sentences.

We accept humans and even non-humans (vampires, werewolves), and the CoMC position is very available. We have lots of students roaming about as well, so you'd have no problem with that :]

Feel free to check the site out, and drop us a line at the cbox if you like!

At the turn of the century, Bridgerton wasn't even on the map.
It wasn't world-renowned for its astounding size and lineup of overqualified teachers. In truth, it was just a man and his four students. But Bridgerton Magical Institute is proof that small steps are needed to reach that one, seemingly farfetched goal.

Taken over by Thomas Bridgerton, with his students Francesca St. Claire, Simon Thompson, William Sheffield, and Phillip Stirling, Bridgerton Magical Institute has grown over the decades, but its visions remain the same. It aims to hone wizards and witches’ magical capabilities to the fullest. Equipped with the best facilities and the best teachers, Bridgerton promises wizards and witches the best standards.
But it's tough, being a magic school in Hogwarts' backyard.
After all, how can a tiny, century-old little school compete with the one that housed the Boy Who Lived?

With the resignation of the headmaster who had been on the job for almost fifty years, Bridgerton Magical Institute had almost been pushed into obscurity. Its students? Alumni's children, whose parents have so much trust in its educational quality; those who had gone into hiding in search of someplace to stay without being found out; or simply Hogwarts rejects.

Can a new headmaster, his deputies, and the Bridgerton students keep their beloved school from dying?
Can't you see?

Everything's changing.

So come discover the magic.

BRIDGERTON MAGICAL INSTITUTE .

The Conservatory was set up after the war, and is opening for the first time in 2003, so this upcoming class will be the first set of students to go through.

There are no teachers as yet, so we'd be happy to have you. The only thing is that the site isn't that active yet.

I'm not a member of this board, but I know the admin. It's an active HP board and has been around for awhile. They have a Cbox available for questions or even a passing hullo.

Common Questions about Hallows && Horcruxes.

Are we new?
No, we have reached our six-month mark, which puts us out of the infancy period and into the established site section.

Are we active?
Yes! We have over 250 active and fun members, and there is generally always someone on.

Are there still canons?
Yes. There are many, many canons still open despite the member count, as most like to play an original character. If your favorite canon is taken, feel free to challenge them. Don't know what that is? Keep on reading.

The Plot.

We are using the sixth book as canon and then making up the seventh year as we go, though we are including many elements from the seventh book into our main plot. Mini plots between members are not only encouraged but the norm.

Which are you looking for?

It is the last and final year, the year of trials and tribulations. Harry, Hermione, and Ron have returned to Hogwarts, though they and all their fellow students are wary about Voldemort and his growing power in and over the Wizarding world. They are doing all they can to prevent evil from taking over everything they have come to know, but life hangs in a delicate balance for everyone. The Trio searches for the Horcruxes, in hopes to destroy them all and thwart Voldemort that way, and for the Hallows, in hopes to conquer death.

However, Voldemort tracks Harry in hopes to find him and prevent the prophecy to come true, to use his soul to fuel himself and take over the world. Death Eaters are becoming a common sight, and more often than not, they exert their revenge on Muggles and Muggle born Wizards and Witches, though they have not taken to killing them in public... yet. Only a few casualties have been scored, so far.

Life will try to go on for those who aren't trying to prevent the end of the world from happening, but even the Muggles are bound to notice a change in the world, that things are growing darker, and colder. Will you fight when the time comes, and who will you stand by? Will you be a student, living your life at the school and watching as the war rages on, or will you be an adult, actively fighting on a side?

Hallows and Horcruxes, which are you looking for, and why?

The Goodies.

That's right! While we are a Harry Potter forum, we do try to give it a twist of our own flavor. We have actual, interactive Quidditch games that students can participate in. A fully functional system of points and monies, ranging from graphic and writing competitions to actual jobs and stores where items can be purchased and used.

Is the canon character you wanted to play taken? Come and challenge! We invite anyone who would like to try their hand at a character to do the very best for that character. Granted, the person currently playing that character has every right to defend themselves, but no one is considered 'off limits' from a challenge... not even staff members!

If you aren't in the way to play a canon character all the time but sometimes get the urge to play Hermione every now and again, partake of our Polyjuice Portum, where all rules and characters are thrown aside so you can write to your heart's content. Want to play out what would happen if it were Harry and Hermione getting together instead of Harry and Ginny? Go for it! Want to see how strange things would be if Voldemort was a girl? Go for it! We want you to play what you want. We also have a very special forum dedicated to accepted members only, where fun and exciting conversations occur all the time.

There is more, much more, but why spoil the surprise? Come and find out for yourself.

Hey there! I have a post Harry Potter site that is set in Hogwarts itself. And our Care of Magical Creatures teacher is open. Currently we have him set as Hagrid, but my co-admin and I are willing to negotiate on that fact, though we'd prefer if the character was a new addition to the staff. We have an active DADA and Muggle Studiies professor so the CoC character would actually have other adults to talk to. Though quirky students are welcome as well.

The current setting is October of 2021 and with the first month of the school year over, the first Hogmeade visit is set to begin. However despite the outer peace of the Wizarding World, all may not be well withing the castle. At first suits of armour randomly crashed down and the staircases moved when they shouldn't have, but now things are getting a little more serious. A bludger recently escaped from a practice held by the Gryffindor quidditch team and has been tearing up the hallways. It also rammed into 7th year Alina Weasley who is now severely injured and unconscious.

Aside from these strange and dark events going on in the school, life does go on. A Hogsmeade visit has been announced, quidditch teams are looking for members to fill empty spots before the season starts, prefects are trying to keep ahead of the pranksters Lily Potter and Fred Weasley and there are classes to attend. New members can jump into the action in one of a few ways. First is the chaos of the Accident thread now that someone has gotten hurt and the bludger is still loose in the school. Everyone is also welcome to go for breakfast in the Great Hall and stare in shock at Lily's newest prank...a red haired Scorpius Malfoy. Students who are taking DADA and Muggle Studies also have classroom threads to attend as well.

Here is our link and we hope to see you there.

The Great Divide

At Hogwarts diversity was key. After the end of the Second War and the falling of the Dark Lord, it no longer mattered which House you belonged to. It seemed as if forever people would recall the infamous day when Badgers stood next to Snakes and Lions and fought–and won–for the same cause. Pureblood or no blood, for the first time Hogwarts was united under one cause and when the dust had settled and the debris cleared, it seemed as if that unity would last forever.

Until a mistake was made and a line was drawn again. And the divide grew greater than ever.

A revelation that the students aren’t always what they seem. This time the divide goes deeper than mere House association. It is one thing to belong to a certain House, and quite another to share a bond with a werewolf or vampire...

The rumors are beginning. The fear is spreading. A call for action is at hand. The divide is growing greater every day.

And no where else is the divide greater than in London. Creatures who prefer not to be seen already have a stronghold and immense power over entire cities. Power that seems to be steadily increasing with every unexplained death and sudden disappearance. This time the authorities are confused, with nothing to report but obituaries. There are no dark marks in the sky, no possessions of Ministry figures. Just murder and mayhem and even more questions of why? How?

Magical and muggle-kind alike live side by side. This, more often than not, is in blissful unawareness of each other, bumping heads without ever truly looking close enough to see the differences. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. But on both sides of the divide there appear to be those neither ignorant nor blissful: muggles who, out of jealousy or fear, despise wizardkind; magical folk who seem to take after the Dark Lord in their hatred of ‘lesser’ human beings and dreams of domination. And then there are those tethered in the middle, fascinated by and in love with a world that is not their own.

The struggle lies in maintaining the balance, but as tensions flare and the divide grows deeper, the question on everyone’s mind remains: who will come out on top?

Welcome to The Great Divide, where life hangs in the balance, whether you are magical or not... or possibly something much more. When magic and mayhem collide... the divide grows greater every day.

Which side will you be on?

Actually, A Dying Light is set after the war and ignoring the epilogue. We don't accept teachers from Hogwarts, mostly because we don't have threads in Hogwarts. We do accept originals as well as canons.

It's all over. Voldemort has been slain and the battle is finished. Finally, everyone who fought so long and hard for peace can have it. It is the summer of 1998, the end of July, and Harry Potter is celebrating his 18th birthday. In just a few short months he will join Hermione Granger and many others in the ranks to become Aurors. After the loss of Fred Weasley, Ron has chosen to run WWW with George. The casualties are being mourned and Hogwarts is being rebuilt. Everyone is ready to move on.

But when strange things begin occurring, the wizarding world can only hope the events are not tied together. Members of society, both important and mundane, are being kidnapped, robberies are happening much more often then they should, and rumors are starting to fly. Is it all simply coincidence? Solitary events that occasionally fall into a regular pattern? Or is it the start of something more?

New threats are arising. Not one, but two opposing dark forces. The Wizarding and Muggle worlds are being hit from both the front and back by opposing forces. But not all hope is lost. A new vigilante group has formed led by Bill Weasley. Will Phoenix Reborn, shrouded in secret as those preceding them had done, squelch the rising threats? Will these new threats collide, exploding in chaos and destruction or will they come together to form a stronger and increasingly threatening force?

The choice is yours. With new plots rising every day and the Admin constantly needing your input we’re excited to see what will happen when the glimmer of hope fades and the light begins to die….

We're a long running AU Harry Potter RP that's been around for nearly a year now. There are several characters and we're very active, but the group we have is still intimate and friends. Unfortunately the CoMC teacher is taken, but in the next few days there's a very good chance that the assistant professor for that class will be opening up. ^^

People know what life at Hogwarts was like, but has anyone ever wondered what it would be like at one of the other magickal academies located around the world? Well, now is your chance to find out.

Rhiannon Academy is located just outside of the United States of America, and is the place for many of the children in that part of the world to go. It does however feel that people need to be exposed to other cultures as well, and that is why it has opened its doors to people from all countries.

It has all of the normal classes that you would think to find at a magickal academy, like potions and transfiguration and of course flying. It is a place to make friends, find love, and of course learn all about the ways of being a witch or a wizard.

There is still one Professor, tons of Assistant Professors, some Academy Staff, and a few Shopkeepers still available. What we really need are students though! We are wanting to get the Quidditch Season underway, but we need to fill the teams first. The new term has started so come and join in the fun! The headmaster is also open to suggestions for new classes and shops as well, so feel free to send him a PM if you are interested.

So join today! - http://z3.invisionfree.com/RhiannonAcademy

We are a relatively new, but active AU HP rp that would be worth taking a look at. The war hasn't and won't take place so I can't exactly say it is after the war. The time frame is the late 90s so it's the time of the canon three, but things have changed enough to allow for any number of avenues. The COMC class is available and that professor also teaches Care and Handling of Dangerous Creatures as an elective for higher level students. So, our advert:

Everyone made mistakes, even he, Lord Voldemort, did. And, it had been a gross and, at times almost fatal mistake. The Seer's prophecy about the Potter boy had seemed so simple and straightforward and it had distracted Voldemort from the real threat to his rise to power. But, the truth was, there had been nothing special about the boy. Potter had never really been a real threat.

It should have been obvious. The real threat was and had always been Albus Dumbledore. It had been him that had denied Lord Voldemort the ability to return to Hogwarts those many years ago. It had been he that had hid the Potters. Dumbledore had been the one to put the protections on the Dursley house. If Dumbledore could be neutralized, surely any other hindrances could easily be handled.

The task was simple. Go back and eliminate the real threat before it could thwart him so readily in the years to follow. Eliminate the Dumbledore bloodline before it could meddle in the true fate of the wizarding world.

The world had been as it was when he'd retired that evening. The Dark Lord had awoken the next day to a delightfully different world. He needed no reports to know that the mission had been successful. The Dumbledore's had been eliminated, their world had been claimed and no one seemed aware of this drastic change that had occurred to their world.

By the next morning, it was clear things had, indeed changed. England, and indeed the whole world, had woken to a whole new reality the next day. It was a world in which the Dark Lord’s Death Eaters had been in control since their first claim of power in the early 1970s. The muggle class served the superior wizarding class and the Dark Lord enjoyed supreme rule over Great Britain. With Grindelwald alive and in power in continental Europe, they were well on their way to a superior wizarding race.

Most people are unaware of the change in history and situation. For most of them, they just have the memories of the current version of history, those having overwritten any memories of an alternate reality. On occasion, small percentages of people may experience a strange flashback or dream or something else that hints that things may have been different. But, such flashbacks are fleeting and frequently written off as wishful thinking.

What is Fires At Midnight?

Our world takes place during the year 1997, when the main trio would be in their sixth year in the Harry Potter books of J.K. Rowling. In our world, in an attempt to secure his place of power, the Dark Lord sent one of his followers back in time to eliminate the Dumbledores before Albus and his siblings are born. In a world absent of Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald rises to power in continental Europe while, later, Lord Voldemort rises to power in England.

We welcome folks that are new to the HP world and RPGing in general. While the basic plot of this RP is based on the HP world, there have been many changes to the history, characters and Harry Potter universe. So, there is plenty of room for you to find your own storyline, even if you aren't caught up in the Harry Potter mania.

Fourteen years following the defeat of Lord Voldemort, the Wizarding World has settled into a comfortable new rhythm. Under the leadership of Minister Shacklebolt, the Magical community has rebuilt itself after the tragic battle at Hogwarts. With so many wizards lost, the reparation process has been long, and far from simple, but the Wizarding World is finally on its way back up.

The Solstice plot opens as a new Minister of Magic, Rudolph Biddle, takes office. The Wizarding World is still thriving in a period of peace, and the last thing on anyone’s mind is the rise of a new dark force. However, divisive factions – superseding house lines - have begun to form at Hogwarts, and the winds of change have once again begun to blow.

Students have begun to rally around Hogwarts’ elusive new Ancient Runes Professor, who is deeply entangled in a cult revolving around several ancient prophecies, all of which promise retribution for magical crimes and predict the rise of a new order among Wizards.

Welcome to Hogwarts, 2012.

Throughout history, in every civilization, there have been those who strive to be remembered. To live forever, in the minds and hearts of men. Or to simply live forever. Great and horrible deeds have been done, all in the name of eternity, immortality.

It has been 300 years since the fall of Voldemort, and though the future brings advancements in technology and magic, in policy and practice, some things never change. There are rumors of corruption within the Ministry, especially about Minister for Magic Quentin Abbey. Here and there, vocal Ministry critics are disappearing off the streets- coincidence? And of course a new year is beginning at Hogwarts, with feelings of apprehension from longtime Headmistress Neredia Dauntrye.

Our names will be revered. Our deeds will be remembered.

We refuse to be forgotten, lost to the winds of time.
We will raise our glasses together: a toast.

"To Life Everlasting."

Hey there, Queen! I have a site that you may be interested in, if you don't mind trying something different. After Graduation is a post-DH based around life after Hogwarts, as young/adult witches and wizards make their way in the world. The site isn't focused on Hogwarts but on the UK at large. You're welcome to play a COMC prof, and certainly anyone quirky and random. We have all sorts of characters, from quirky fashionistos to hard-arse hit witches to petty criminals to paranoid conspiracy theorist reporters. The site is intermediate/advanced, PG-13, with twentysomething active members and 53 charries. Here's the ad so you have a better idea of what's going on at the moment...

QUOTE

AFTER GRADUATION: THE FOURTH UNFORGIVABLE

"I'm afraid that I cannot share the particulars with you. I work in the Department of Mysteries; you understand. Suffice it to say that we seek to understand the differences between magic and Muggle; moreover, why they are different."

"An Unspeakable?...Humor me, are you really trying breed a new race of Super Blast-Ended Skrewts to use in a war against the French wizarding community?"

"I'm afraid the truth of our work is a great deal less amusing."

"I refuse to believe your work is boring. I'm sure you're working on something utterly fascinating, like trying to unlock the mysteries of the human soul."

"Do you find the human soul fascinating?"

"Well, yes, I suppose I do. It is the very essence of who we are. It transcends death itself. That's what makes the Dementors so utterly terrifying. They weren't just destroying your body, they were destroying your very being. You can exist without a body, ghosts are proof of that...but your soul is everything."

THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC WANTS YOUR SOUL.

•• AG is a post-DH Harry Potter roleplay based around life after Hogwarts. Our characters are adults and recent Hogwarts graduates who are now full members of the wizarding community. The setting of the site is the wizarding U.K. rather than Hogwarts.

•• It's the summer of 2018. Harry Potter has gone missing and Minister Shacklebolt has been murdered. Dubbed the 'apparition bug' by the Daily Prophet, these mysterious disappearances happen to many important wizarding leaders through the summer months. With so many leaders gone, how will the young men and women taking their places cope? Can they overcome the challenges they encounter in the wide wizarding world? Or will they meet the same unfortunate fate as their predecessors? It's the new Wizarding world, and here, the soul is everything.

•• AG is intermediate/advanced with a PG-13 rating. Our joining process is simple; post your profile, and you're automatically accepted. The Admin strive to make every member and character an important part of the site. No matter whether you create an original or adopt a canon, you're always an important contributor to the site. The community is very friendly; we love chatting with guests about any questions or comments they have, so we'd love it if you dropped us a word in the chat box. ‘ and the candle burned out

professor albus dumbledore was the life and spirit of hogwarts.
with his death came the close of an era, and nothing was ever quite the same.
the halls of hogwarts witchcraft and wizardry grew colder;
it’s people somber.
and the final stretch of that final battle began, going down in history for time indefinite;
but while harry potter took one path, his fellow schoolmates took another.

everyone knows the tale of harry potter and the deathly hallows,
but what of the story that has gone untold?
that of the students forced back into a school run by the demonic carrows?
the story of those that didn’t give up on a single boy with a scar upon his forehead?

not all the candles went out with the passing of the greatest wizard ever known;
a good many more were lit, showing off the gleam of a single coin meant to symbolize him forever.
and within the halls of hogwarts that fateful year,
the students stood as one, coming together to say:
enough.

so while harry, hermione, and ron traversed the countryside in search of their final hope
their peers stayed put on the home front and staged a battle unlike any other.
it’s a tale worth hearing if you’ve the heart to listen,
and it’s a story worth reliving if you’ve the mind to try it.

it all took place in the

something is wrong, this is gonna shock them
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."

Severus Snape overheard the words of Seer Sybill Trelawney to Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and reported them to his master, Lord Voldemort. The Dark Lord brooded, plotted and planned, worrying over who this equal might be. We all know he chose Harry Potter, the half-blood soon of Lily and James Potter... but what ifhe'd picked the other option?

At the very stroke of midnight, beginning what would have been Neville Longbottom's 1st birthday, he was murdered in his room, his grandmother murdered just a room away. Poor Neville was lost, and the Order of the Phoenix wept as a whole that night at the loss.

It was only three years from then when Lord Voldemort seized the entire Ministry of Magic for himself and his followers, the Death Eaters. During a great battle at Hogwarts, he was believe to have killed Dumbledore, and he let the former order members and other witches and wizards live only when they swore their allegiance to him. Most of them did, though several did not and they and their families died. Voldemort was in control at last, and as he gained power, he mutated slowly, over time, into the snake-like creature he always was inside.

The Dark Lord did not want Muggleborns to be allowed into Hogwarts as students, but found another use for them. They were to be allowed into the castle, but more as slaves than students. They would serve as practically slaves to the other students at school. Muggleborn children were stolen from their Muggle families, and said families were cursed into believing they never had said child at all. The Muggleborn children were then only allowed to take classes about the simplest charms that would let them aid their more worthy 'masters'.

Years passed, and while all was dark and gloomy, the wizarding world was at peace.

At least, that is what the Dark Lord and his followers thought. Albus Dumbledore had not died in that battle at Hogwarts, but had escaped into hiding. In a secret location, he rebuilt his order of those still loyal to him. In the outside world, these members put on the facade of allegiance to Voldemort ,but in secret they became stronger. Also, in secret, another prophecy came forth, from the same Seer:

In 1996, Hogwarts is a dark, dreary place. Pure and half-blooded students are served by Muggleborns, who are treated as little more than slaves. Muggleborns are able to take classes such as charms and history of the dark arts, but no else. Still, some are able to make friends of kinder students (especially the children of the hiding order members), but open friendship with Muggleborns causes suspicion to arise.

On and on, this reckless abandon of what the Wizarding World once knew is dangerous. Few are starting to sense that something is wrong in the dark balance that has occurred, and several are secretly hopeful for an uprise. The eventual outcome could shock them all.

RELIGION!

"BLIMEY," said Harry Potter, shoveling another forkful of Molly Weasley's fried egg and bacon omlette into his mouth. "Blimey, Ginny, I think we've really got it right this time!"

Ginny blew out an exasperated sigh from where she stood at the kitchen sink of the Burrow, scrubbing dishes. "You don't have to be ready for a meeting with the Bulgarian ambassador in fifteen minutes," she answered crossly. "He's quite daft, and he doesn't speak much English, and it's all really frustrating."

Harry shook his head. "But you're the Minister of Magic!" he pointed out. "You've got all this power. And I feel much cleaner now that I'm out of the position. I think this was a really good idea."

"What?" Ginny asked hotly, putting a few dishes in a cupboard. "You had a halfway-conscious, surrealistic epiphany the moment you won the war, and now you've gone and tried to make it into organized prayer? You think that's a good idea? You've gone bonkers, Harry."

Harry wasn't even listening. "It's wondrous, it's glorious! We're responsible for saving the souls of millions of people!" he cried. "Eminence is beautiful."

Ginny raised her eyebrows. "I don't trust it," she said candidly. "It's too happy. Religion shouldn't be happy. There's something wrong with a religion that's so happy."

Harry flashed her a beatific smile. "Come on, you know that you love being worshipped as the superior sex. Whatever happened to the fiery feminist with the poster of Gwenog Jones in her room?"

Ginny sighed. "It's still there. Damn you."

"You can't damn me, there's no hell to damn me to now. Care for a pancake?"

Harry Potter has found religion. Eminence gives complete power to females of all ages. Harry himself, Minister of Magic, stepped down from his position and bestowed it upon his wife, Ginny Potter. Eminence is spreading like wildfire - women like it because it's finally an opportunity to flourish in dominance, and men love it because they're required to quit their jobs and stay home with the children, and they're forbidden to do any important housework lest they sully something. There is no hell, there is only a heaven, and there are no prayers, there are only songs.

Of course, there is the matter that everyone who converts to Eminence willfully tends to become a bit loony, slightly off their rocker, just a little left or right of center. But why worry about the future, when you can have bliss, happiness, and unconditional forgiveness in the here and now?

SCANDAL!

""BLIMEY," said Draco Malfoy, fluttering through the Daily Prophet. "Cornelius Fudge and Rufus Scrimgeour were married on Thursday."

Astoria tutted as she flipped through the Quibbler. "It says here that Sacharissa Tugwood, the inventor of that beauty potion that you bought me last Christmas, has killed herself. They think it's got something to do with that man she was accused of killing a couple of months ago. The one who turned up two weeks later, without a clue as to where he had been. What was his name? Wood?"

"Oliver Wood," Draco agreed, and then his eyes widened. "What the hell? The Dark Ladies: Unmasked and Unforgivable? They're making spinoffs of Lord Voldemort?"

"Percy and Arthur Weasley are in Azkaban?" Astoria exclaimed in surprise. "For what?"

"Trying to break into Gringotts, apparently, although they're denying it thoroughly," Draco answered thoughtfully.

"Shush, you two!" shouted Scorpius from the living room, where he was plopped in front of a Muggle television. "Bellatrix has just found out that she's pregnant, but she's not sure whether the baby is Harry's or Voldemort's!"

The wizarding world is running amok. Former Ministers of Magic are hooking up and running off to the south of France for their honeymoons. People are disappearing for weeks at a time, and waking up again in their own beds with no recollection of the time they'd been away. Upstanding citizens are being accused of crimes they didn't commit, but the evidence is stacking up against them. Sitcoms and soap operas are mocking the drama, and stirring up trouble in the minds of the people.

Everyone's restless, anxious for somebody to come out and explain the unexplainable. And everyone is frightened that they might be the latest victim in this horrifying chain of strange and unfortunate events.

POLITICS!

"BLIMEY," screamed Hermione Weasley, running back into the house that she shared with Ron. "The Ministry has gone mad! Ginny's trying to control it, but nobody's listening to her!"

Ron strode out, holding their one-month-old baby on his hip. "What's going on?" he inquired, concerned.

"Some people are saying that the Ministry of Magic has been re-infested by Death Eaters, and that the heir to Voldemort is at Hogwarts. Wizengamot has decided to try every single student that's currently at the school, starting in September." Her eyes were stinging with tears. "What about Hugo?" she mourned. "What about Rose? They're imprisoning anybody who's even remotely suspected! What if they take our children?"

Ron shook his head, a steely edge tinging his glare. "I won't let them, Hermione," he said fiercely, shifting the baby's weight. "We'll take them to Ireland if Wizengamot calls them. Come September, they'd better be left alone, or we're withdrawing them from Hogwarts and moving."

Hermione nodded silently, biting her lip. "All right," she agreed finally. "I suppose we'll wait and see what happens."

Someone in the Ministry of Magic seems to think that Lord Voldemort's reincarnation is attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Wizengamot has taken up the challenge of calling in students, one by one, to be thoroughly investigated and interrogated for any suspicious activity. Slytherins bear the brunt of the blame, but nobody is exempt from the Wizengamot's subpeonas. And if the court has even the slightest bit of doubt, then you're facing at least a week cooling your heels with the dementors, subjected to various painful tests to make sure that you're not Tom Riddle reborn.

Parents everywhere are on their toes, ready to whisk their children away if Wizengamot calls them. Nobody at the school is feeling quite safe. And, of course, there's always the lingering question. What if Wizengamot is right?
