The reason (or one of the reasons) I posted this is because I'm starting to get the itch to start an RP of my own. I haven't even been a board moderator in months, yet... I want to take a chance on something of my own creation. The odds that it'll succeed aren't that great because of my work schedule, but I have the feeling that I ought to try starting my own board anyway. It might be a hospital-related board since that's one area I know intimiately, or it might be something completely different. I already have a Peninsular War-based RP made and ready to go, but the interest in that particular period isn't strong enough for me to seriously consider opening it.
Because I've been out of the loop for a bit, it's fair to ask what the current "trends" are as far as popular genres and fandoms, and what-not. And of course I could use some good pointers since I haven't had a hand in seriously operating a board since I was on ProBoards.
Help a soldier out?
Edit:
I apologise for the poor spelling in the thread title. My eyes are slowly getting worse so that I have to essentially put my nose against the screen to see what I'm typing. At least on this laptop.
If you're having problems reading the scren, try pressing CTR and + to get the displayed text bigger.
And if you're interested in the Peninsular War, yet not enough to run your own RPG, StC is looking for players.
I know that trick, at least as far as hitting Ctrl and using my mouse's scroll wheel. Most times I don't have a problem reading/seeing things on the monitor but being tired and not having my glasses on usually mean bad things.
Anyway! I'll go creeping around StC a bit, since PW-era RP is kinda hard to come by. Cheers.
