Title: On The Prowl For A Rpg...

Brandy - June 28, 2008 03:33 AM (GMT)
Genre:Well, I'm being picky here, so bear with me. I'm looking for 2 sites.
The first one- Marvel/DC (Crossover), Marvel, X-men, Avengers.
The Second one-Tin Man. That's it. Tin Man
Difficulty:Beginner to Intermediate, but not over-run with mary Sues.
Type(s) of Creature(s):Lots, Super humans and mutants, and anything in Tin Man's world.
Preferred Rating:PG-13 (swearing allowed)-NC-17. Pretty much anything from PG-13 and up, where I can have my grown adults swear. :p
Preferred Number of Members/Activity:Active, but I can jump right in. I'll look at new sites, but I want to be able to actually use my characters, and I'm sick of seeing new sites that I join, get hyped about, then die off in a few weeks.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in:Any time. As long as I can fit into the storyline, I'm good.

Other Notes:For the DC/Marvel one, I mainly want a site that I can play Wanda maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Her and possibly Amanda Sefton/Daytripper. Originals are nice but not a necessity.

For the Tin Man site, I'm hunting for a place I can use OCs. Originals are my babies, and I want them to go to good use. Besides, there aren't enough Canons from Tin Man to go around. As long as I can use my character Brandy DeSchantel, Lavender Eyes's Second Advisor and Ambrose's Assistant and friend, I'm all good. Having Glitch as a free bird and open to relationship is ALSO a plus.

Uhm, I am a member on a site called X-Men; A New Dawn and it has been going on for a few yaers now. It's not like a god-awfully over run site with so many members on everyday that newbies won't be recognized, but there is enough to where there will be enough, ya know? Only thing is wanda is taken atm, even though she kinda left...so you might have hopes in playing her there :] Originals and Canons are accepted there. Hope to see ya there maybe.

Also, there is a site I am a mod on, Marvel; A New Dawn
It is a sister site to X-Men, but it is newer. Just a couple months new. Not that much activity, but I am on like 24/7 lol. Originals are accepted here, but there is a post requirement for them.

Hope to see ya on either site. Happy hunting :]

Heya Brandy,

I saw your request yesterday but wasn't too sure I should add up my ad since we are a PG-13 rated RPG, but we don't allow swearing. On the other hand, we are over four years old with more characters than members, so the community side of it is definitely there, and there is no chance of us dying on you anytime soon.

There is also which version of The Scarlet Witch you wish to play hun, because, yes, she is free, but powers based on witchcraft a banned concept, however, I have seen versions where she is still the reality warper, but does not dabble into the witchcraft type of things. Anyways, would love if you took a look (there is a bio for her already within Characters Back Up For Grabs that you are welcome to take a look at), and, if you do decide to join, well, know I'm here to help ya out any way I can.

Cheers,
Mana

A lot has happened over the course of time, strength and growth clearly seen, as a new school year will inevitably bring more of the usual danger a resident of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters often faces. It seriously doesn’t help that Magneto‘s decision to open a new school of his own has seen many new mutants drawn to the Master of Magnetism's ideals. The Brotherhood Superiorum continues to grow strong, however, it's about to become no longer a school. Erik Magnus Lensherr cannot continue to inculcate his anti human ideals into the next generation if he has to constantly be looking after the duties being Principle entails!

No, it's time to simplify things so he can once again focus solely on the dream that mutants WILL one day reign supreme!

Who really wants to take sides though? Who really cares about either of their ideals? If that sounds like you, then DME is where you belong. Mana4X2's own concept created faction, Damien-Myne Enterprises, stretches over several cities, with its main office in New York City. Your boss is Colin Damien Myne, AKA Boilmet, founder and owner of this Freelance faction;; he offers you great accommodation, excellent pay, and the freedom to do whatever you want…

Cross him, though, and your life won’t be worth living! Boilmet will do whatever it takes to make sure nothing gets in the way of furthering his business… NOTHING, not even you.

And then there is talk that the FoH is working on something to eradicate mutant kind. Will they succeed?

Who knows, because only time will tell…

I think I may have a site that fits your needs. It is a DC/Marvel crossover rpg and is an intermediate site set in the modern day. There are both X-Men and Avengers teams, as well as Justice League and Teen Titans. It is very active with about 50 or so dedicated members. You can create both canon and original characters, and it is very friendly and easy to join.

The Story
World War I was to be the war to end all wars. World War II wasn’t even viewed as a worldwide struggle until the United States entered it December 8, 1941. Even then the government heavily relied on beings that held enough power to level a tank without even batting a lash. Decades have passed since the United States managed to end the terrible war, the war that left everyone across the globe with a bitter taste in their mouth.

Yet, in a world that both condones and loathes those that are not exactly perceived as normal, the tension that seemed to always bubble beneath the surface finally found its way to the top. Nations across the globe were suddenly bearing arms, threatening a global meltdown if demands were not met. When the nuclear missiles were brought into the equation, everything seemed to turn against the people that inhabited this planet.

The United States, ever dominant in holding the reins as the world’s greatest Super Power, quickly called on the one group of people that could bring an end to the war that had already cost millions, if not billions, of lives: Superhumans.

Those gifted with special abilities that had either been feared or revered were suddenly asked to choose a side, to either use their abilities for the so-called greater good or to be considered a traitor. Many took up the role with pride, and thus The Untouchables were born. Public reaction was split; many supported the heroes, but a great majority resented them.

A year of bloodshed has passed, leaving the world struggling to shake off the dust of a war that seems to have left its mark on every single person in one way, shape, or form. Now, as the heroes return from a war that everyone would rather choose to deny, where will their lives go? They cannot simply pick up where they left off, as nothing seems to be the way that it was before World War III, the darkest battle that has ever shadowed the globe.

It is up you you to rebuild, to rehabilitate the world’s depleted sources. The time has come for The Untouchables to re-enter society and choose a stance in the battle that is already brewing. When the Turning of the World happens, which side will you be on?

I have another X-men site for you...Wanda's history may be a bit interesting to work out if you want her with the BH, because Magneto is not there. He is owner of Muir Island. But she is definetly free, we are working on a strong community, and we are just starting out, so you can watch us grow. :)

18 years ago, a boy was born to one of the most powerful mutants in the world, and the leading doctor in genetics, Professor Charles Xavier and Dr. Moira McTaggert. David Charles McTaggert grew up with his mother on Muir Island while his father went back to New York to create what would later be known as Xavier's School for Gifted students.

As the boy grew, so did his jealousy at his father's inability to connect with him, whereas he was perfectly able to connect with his mutant students. Young David's powers came to light when he was 13, and with the powers came the boy's mental illness. In a fit of rage, the boy killed his mother, after learning the use of the Muir Island jets and how to get to his father.

With Moira dead, and Muir Island destroyed, the thirteen year old boy flew to New York, set on taking apart the entire mansion, along with its inhabitants, which included Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Ororo Munroe, Remy LeBeau, and Logan Howlet, along with younger students that Charles had started bringing into his school.

After a long a difficult battle that included X-Men and students alike, the boy was faced by an irate Jean Grey, who was prepared to use the full force of her powers to keep the boy from killing anyone in the mansion, however she was stopped by Charles.

With a smirk on his face, the boy killed his own father, however the strength that it took to kill Charles left David too weak to do much else. He left the mansion in ruins, but not before telling the X-Men that he would be back for them.

Currently, nearly five years after the death of their beloved Professor, the X-Men have reopened the mansion, keeping the superhero portion of it a secret even to the students. The Brotherhood has been formed by a blue skinned, redheaded morphing mutant named Mystique, and a precog named Destiny, after a prophecy shown to Destiny showed Mystique ruling the world as Homo-Superior. The only catch is the fact that David McTaggert was the brawn, while Mystique was the brain.

Where will you stand?
Will you stand with the X-Men, who have pledged themselves to their students and the world that hates them?
Or will you fight with the Brotherhood for David and Mystique's view of Homo Superior ruling supreme?

I have yet another X-Men site for you. We're fairly new, but growing slowly and steadily -- and we have a fantastic Quicksilver who really needs a Wanda.

X-Men: Eclipsing Binary is a movieverse rpg set shortly after the end of X1. We're PG-13 -- swearing is allowed, but should be kept to a minimum. If that admittedly-minimal description sounds of interest to you, we'd love to have you come visit. Just click on the name-linky thing.

(And I know there's a Tin Man game in our ad forum ... )

Erik Lensherr, known as the mutant Magneto was arrested on Liberty Island three months ago. The reasons for his being there came to light with the discovery of a broken machine with high levels of radiation, thus explaining the bright lights from earlier that same night. How it came to be broken and just what magneto was doing atop the statue of liberty remains a mystery to this day, possibly to stay unsolved for years to come. For the time being he has been moved to a confined high security plastic prison to await trial for previous misdeeds which include mutant terrorism.

The whereabouts of his followers is uncertain as they have temporarily vanished into the woodwork. There are rumors, however, that the Brotherhood of Mutants is not as dead as the public would like you to believe. Word on the street is that the group has been placed in the hands of the mutants known as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The exact status of the pair within this terrorist group has yet to be determined by government officials, though all agree their ranks are ever growing even with their leader behind bars. When or if they will strike next has many citizens concerned for there is no assurances that the government will be able to take evasive measures in order to protect the human population.

There is a place located in Westchester, New York that has become something of a safe haven for young mutants barely begun in their powers. To the world it is known as Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and within its doors are students of all ages working towards a higher education. According to one man, a Colonel William Stryker, there is more to this school than meets the eye. It is his belief that it is a playground for mutants, a training center for future terrorists to follow in the wake of Magneto and the Brotherhood. Sweeping through Congress is a request to infiltrate the halls of this school in order to ascertain what exactly is going on. Thus far the request has been fought against by the former anti-mutant coalition leader, Senator Robert Kelly, who has turned his efforts into fighting for mutant rights; it seems he has finally seen the light of day.

Any further inquiry by the public has been offset by the recent arrival of Emma Frost of Frost Enterprises as a member of staff at Xavier's. Already a well established figure of society it is believed that Ms. Frost will make a welcome addition to the all inclusive staff that has been furnished by the likes of Dr. Jean Grey, and Dr. Henry McCoy in the past. Naturally there is some scandal in the appointment of Ms. Frost as she has just been forced out of her well to do position in the high societal group, the Hellfire Club. The exact nature of her dismissal has been kept hush, though it is believed Ms. Frost was pushed out in favor of her own sister due to a not so discreet love affair.
