Title: Human/humanoid. :)

Jae - June 26, 2008 12:47 PM (GMT)
Genre: Anything that is completely original. I like RPGs with a bit of fantasy, but that is not a requirement.

Difficulty: Intermediate/advanced.

Type(s) of Creature(s): Human or humanoid only, please. (For example, this means that dragons are out of the running, but if they can take human form, I'm all right with it. But I'd like a RPG that has predominantly human/humanoid characters, anyway.)

Preferred Rating: My characters curse a bit, but they don't have to.

Preferred Number of Members/Activity: I'm looking to post once every other day or so...

Preferred Time where RPG is set in: I'm open to ideas, but I am not fond of medieval settings.

Other Notes: I don't know if I have the time for another RPG. I'm sure I can squeeze it in, but because of that, I won't be joining any unless one really catches my eye. xD

I have a crime RPG based around humans. [: We just opened 2 days
ago and we have 25 registered members; we opened with 4. We're
very active already, we have lots of threads going and they all get
replied to daily so far. We're rated R so curse all you like. [:

QUOTE

2013.
What an unlucky number.

"My name? Oh... it's not really safe to say now, is it? Sorry. But it's best to stay anonymous
when you're talking about things like this; particularly as my house was broken into last week.
I'm not feeling sorry for myself, not by far; it happened to my friend too. The crime rate started
to shoot up here in London in about 2010 and it just kept going. The authorities can't really
handle it. Why don't we move? Because it's the same everywhere else; London just happens to
be where I stay. So many people are mugged near me now and there was even a murder only
five minutes from where I stay. It's unsafe and I can't even let my kids out of the house. I mean,
there was once a time where I could stroll down the street without clutching my kids' hands and
holding my handbag tight to my chest in case someone should try and grab it."

Welcome to London.
Your own personal hell.
Everyone's own personal hell.

Imagine crime shooting up to a ridiculous level. Imagine being
afraid to walk down the street. Imagine the breaking of the law
around you every day. Imagine the authorities losing control.
Imagine the punk movement's utter dream and your worst nightmare.
You my friend, are imagining 2013.

Watch out or you may end up with
BULLETS IN THE BACK.

Bullets In The Back is a hopefully successful attempt at a crime RPG
where crime actually does happen and the events actually are realistic
for the future but pretty horrific. The roleplay is advanced and we are
an originals only roleplay, believing in true freedom with characters.
We are R-rated so be sure you can handle violence. Hope to see you there!

Jae - June 26, 2008 01:08 PM (GMT)
Thanks! I'll check it out, but I'm going to hold off for a while and see what else people have. ^^;

And this emoticon just because I like it: o.O

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.

Casino: Fatale is a Literate To Advanced roleplay forum about transparant societies underneath all the lights, and the fancy colors that Las Vegas holds. Two teams, FALCON, and RAVEN, oppose each other in pure hatred for one another, or at least, their leaders due to beliefs about the way things should be run. Main mission? To destroy one's organization before the other destroys yours. Some may think it's simple, and each group puts the main goal as 'Protecting Vegas'.

But there's more to the story than a simple fight and protect scenario. It goes into a deep history between the leaders of each team, and the original goal that both teams shared. Differences create enemies, and now you must decide on where your loyalties lie. And is what you're fighting for truely noble?

Are you ready to join the elite?

THEY ARE THE GOLDEN AND THE CHOSEN

An acceptance letter has arrived to Monroe College an academic achievement and the key to a thousand doors, but maybe, just maybe a mixed blessing worth thinking over...

Situated in Northern California, just slightly inland from a long row of pristine beach land, lies one of the country's most prestigious universities: Monroe University. Founded by descendants of President James Monroe, the university has everything from its own private stretch of beach to world wide reputation for academic excellence. Monroe University is as elite and competitive as one might imagine it to be and stands among the most prestigious Ivy League Institutions.

On the surface, Monroe looks perfect: All the history of the East Coast Ivy League with the endless summers of West Coast paradise. Prestigious buildings, decorated professors, and the white sanded shores of Northern California sounds too good to be true, right?

THATS BECAUSE IT IS.

Delve a little further into the exclusive, glamorous world of Monroe and a trail of mystery emerges, centered around the elusive Graves and Roses, the most elite and powerful secret society on this particular coast. Everyone who's anyone is a member, but then again they'd never tell you. Freshmen are just dying to get in... literally.

Last year, tragedy struck Monroe when alleged Graves and Roses member Aaron Teegarden was killed in a car accident. Although nothing was ever made official, rumors circulated the campus that there was more to his death than was ever made public. His little brother joining the Graves and Roses quelled rumors momentarily, but Aaron's devastated girlfriend, ex-campus sweetheart, doesn't seem to sleep anymore and his best friend, a journalism major, keeps digging and not too quietly.

Across campus, at the Sigma Pi Fraternity House, a freshman scholarship student named Anna Tate was found naked and unconscious after a raucous social mixer. Supposedly, she reported to the police that the fraternity president and three of the high ranking members had raped her. It would have been a matter of he said, she said if not for her blood work revealing an incriminating mixture of drugs. Strangely, a week later all charges were dropped. Did old money change hands?

The idea of class action needs redefining when one considers the rumors that a tenured professor has had indiscretions with more than one of his nubile Freshman students. No one ever seems to give the incoming Freshmen a word of warning. Tenure, after all, means untouchable.

Silence is golden in and out of the classroom. The Graves and Roses are so quiet members are hard to identify beyond the obviously wealthy suspects. The fraternities and sororities know how to draw ranks faster than a military formation. There's no such thing as free press either with the University newspaper having faculty on staff. Rumors, gossip, and, of course, overheard whispers are the most reliable forms of truth.

Believe the campus myths if you choose to or else take Monroe at face value, the playground of the privileged where bright young things party, study and above all, cause scandal.

Both boards I can offer you deal with human/humanoids of the star wars universe. So If you'd like to join either one of those, by all means be my guest, if not I'll take no offense. The first is a pre-opener board, meaning we're drawing in staff and members before the opening date to get to know eachother and establish characters. The second is an already opened board, and the sister site of the first.

Since you're looking for a little bit of fantasy, how do you feel about steampunk? Three Wishes is fantasy steampunk Asia, and all characters are different characteristics of humanoid (some are the avatars of the gods; some are magicians; some are religious; etc etc).

The agrarian world of the beast gods is coming through an industrial revolution, and balancing the world's natural magic with new technology falls to the Empress-Regent and her cabinet, a sociofascist regimee that's declared all religion illegal. Without their worshipers, the gods are losing their power over the land, and the world itself is falling into destruction.

We have active, welcoming players and staff without being so busy that new people get lost in the shuffle. Come check it out!

Well Out In The Black is based on the Firefly Verse, but apart from that it's original in every sense ^^. We don't have canon ships nor canon characters, and allow a lot of freedom, and we're pretty much freeform in setup. If you've never heard of Firefly before, just imagine space meets the old wild west, it's a spacewestern in every sense of the word XD. We allow swearing (that's just part of the whole slang thing) but the fun thing is a lot of swearing is done in old wild west slang, firefly english slang or Chinese. We have a very active community already, even only been open for a few days. If you're interested but never saw Firefly(tv-show)/Serenity(movie) don't worry, all the info is located onboard ^^. And we're always there to help you out. Well anyways, here's our ad, with the links! (owh and most important, there are no aliens)

Early 21st century, Earth had finally grown beyond its limits and exhausted its resources. Mankind reached for the stars and found themselves a new solar system, with dozens of planets and hundreds of moons. Each one eventually terraformed to sustain life, a process taking decades.

Early 26st century, life on the partially colonized outer planets resembles the lawlessness and desolation of the American Old West. While the core planets prospered and grew strong in their ideals under Alliance control. The Alliance, a formation between old America and China, wanted to get the outer planets under their control too. Independents refused these idealistic views and war broke out, known as the unification war.

Five long years later war ended with heavy casualties on both sides, more heavily so on the Independents side than the Alliance. Even more then before the outer worlds were impoverished and crime ridden.

The year is now late 2519, and in the quest to seek out the perfect civilization the Alliance began experimenting to create the perfect society in taming aggressive behaviour. But it backfired resulting in millions of innocent lives that were lost and the birth of a new people, Reavers, malicious and cannibalistic people. Alliance tried to cover everything up.

Mid 2519 word got out, the last recorded message of a scientist was broadcasted across the Verse. The secret revolting and rebellion spread across the stars once more. The Alliance denied the reports at first but eventually embraced the idea and regarded it as a necessary loss. Others thought differently.

The Alliance this time is on the guard, trying to stop any uprising of those who step out of their control and challenge them. The 'Miranda' project, as they called it, has become their battle cry. It has been seared into their brain as lost loved ones made their sacrifices on that forgotten planet.

Its a playing ground; how will you play it ?

An active & original Firefly Verse RPG! Set after the Serenity movie in late 2519. Explore life on the Rim or join up on a ship, anything is possible on ’Out In The Black’

Thiasa fits within your broad category. Some of our strong points: we're incredibly active (20-80 posts a day). We've got a lot of characters, a lot of members--and everyone is welcoming, so never fear being marginalized. I and most of the other members leap on newbies immediately and try to draw them into all of our plots. The cbox is also a wonderful place for socializing. We emphasize good writing, but we're far from elitist.

The nitty-gritty: we're a heavily historical fantasy (not set in the real world, but we have a lot of information on our site cultures--we're largely medieval, with a bronze age side culture). I know you aren't a big fan of medieval, but that's far from all we are, so perhaps give us a shot.

Thiasa.org is our address. Best of luck with your search!

Jatam - June 26, 2008 05:22 PM (GMT)
Hi there.

This is an original plot, fantasy based but Humanoid. You would be more than welcome here!

The plots are very flexible, in that if you want to be involved you can, but it isn't a requirement.

You can pretty much assume a relationship with whoever you want, everyone is really nice and welcoming, and besides removing spam and deleting rude people, the admins are just like every other member, so the rules are pretty lax.

(When I say Lax, I don't mean that there are one, there are a lot in fact, but the admin are not into enforcing them, They figure having them up scares away a lot of the riff-raff who make RPing no fun, so the ones who stay gt away with murder!)

Hatton Heights

And so it Begins...

Hatton Heights, a small town with a lot of trouble. From the street gangs to the pin up girls, everyone has a secret, and they will do anything to hide it. And I mean anything.

Two years ago, the Mayor of Hatton Heights died suddenly and mysteriously. The new mayor to be appointed soon followed the same path, and the people of Hatton now believe the position of Mayor is an accursed one, never to be filled again, a belief which has been encouraged by Micheal Thomas, the towns Chief Night-Watchman and Emily Larcombe, Headmistress of Hatton Heights and the woman the town looks to for strength during these difficult times. And so life goes on as normal in the small town. Or as normal as possible when you live in a town full of people with extraordinary gifts and powers beyond your wildest dreams.

And now, a Mysterious Journal has turned up in Hatton, and it's got everyone talking. Where did it come form? Who wrote it? And why does Emily Larcombe want to keep it under lock and key?

Truth is, this isn’t just a journal. It is an in depth Record of the people of Hatton Height and all their dirty little secrets. Someone in town knows far more than they should, not that they are sharing their information… yet.

You see, all the names in the records have been changed, and it is impossible to tell who wrote the thing, but Emily and Michael are determined to find out, because if the journal is accurate there are some very guilty people in Hatton Heights.

In a town built to hide a secret, everyone is lying about something. The deception has crept it's way into every aspect of the townspeople's lives, and now, it's impossible to be an innocent victim. Who can you trust when everyone's a threat, where do you turn when everyone's a suspect. Watch your back, it's going to get ugly.

Hatton Heights, Forget what you think you know.

The board is now viewable to guests!

Hope you enjoy!

Check out Decaying London? We're original fantasy (horror/Post-Apocalyptic) and we're rather unique in our human/sapiens-based races. Each of them is extremely in depth and culturally developed, not simply a small descrition about their appearences and typical behavior. We're rather active, with usually 10-20 IC posts a day, though we've hit a slow spot with two of our members on vacation. At any rate, we have a unique and wonderful plot going that you can involve yourself in, and we'd love to welcome another member! Check us out! ^^

For centuries the immortal and bizarre Sapiens-based races of the world have kept hidden, yet in the heart of the London streets abnormalities are occurring. Vampires and Werewolves have been spotted, people are returning from the dead and strange soul-split beings can be seen with their animal familiars in the dead of night. Nothing is kept sacred as the internal structure of Great Brittan’s finest city crumbles, revealing the world’s most fragile and well-kept secrets. Amongst the turmoil the political system is awkwardly skewed, the economy is stretched thin, and mortal Humans realize that for centuries they have not been entirely alone.

Welcome to London. Pardon the mess; we’re trying to piece ourselves back together.

Decaying London offers:
  • An advanced writing community with a 300 word requirement per post.
  • 12 wonderfully imaginative races, each unique to the site.
  • Board-wide plots that involve every member and inspire muse and a sense of importance.

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE.

"We have dragon-riding psychics who eat pie, are addicted to the internet pretty much, who love socks, toe socks and loin cloths, some have wings and some...have giant scorpion tails."

Yep, that just about sums up Remnants of the Earth, a sci-fi fantasy RPG with a very eclectic style. Curious about the other details? Click one of the links below to learn more. But as a teaser I'll say we do have dragons. And psychics. We also have underground resistance groups, dystopian societies, necromantic research corporations, space stations, and space pirates, among plenty of other things.

So c'mon, check us out! And if sci-fi scares you, don't sweat it! We even have a little town called Sevenwinds, a community of people who reject technology and survive by the sweat of their brow. They do it medieval-style, baby.

WE OFFER:
  • A fun, drama-free community filled with friendly and enthusiastic players that love new people. You won't find any scary, stuffy people here. <3 We're active, too, and we've been going strong since September 6th, 2007.
  • A game that welcomes all original characters, humanoid and animal alike.
  • Magic, nifty gadgets, political intrigue, espionage, and all that fun stuff!
  • A free-form environment and a game universe that grows and expands as the players help develop and flesh it out.
  • The freedom to play whatever plot suits your fancy. <3

A WORLD REBORN...

Magic, intrigue, and an ever-expanding world filled with mysteries just waiting to be discovered: that's Spirits of the Earth, a high fantasy RPG set on a very futuristic Earth. But it's not what you'd expect the future to be like; there are no flying cars, no supercomputers, no cyborgs and androids. There are no towering skyscrapers, no vacations on Mars. Instead there are lush jungles, blistering deserts, majestic palaces, haunted brothels, pristine oceans, magic-fearing kingdoms, and...

...Unicorns and dragons and sorcerers and death cults?

Yep. Instead of developing forward, society developed backwards. In a sense.

The world is beautiful now, healed from the scars the wars and technologies of the past inflicted on it, but not all is right in the world. Already history is beginning to repeat and the world stands divided by its people's prejudices: the mages against the non-mages, the religious against the non-religious, and everything in between.

WE OFFER:
  • A fun, active, friendly, drama-free and advertisement-free community that has been going strong for over seven years with no hiatuses or shut downs. Needless to say, you don't have to worry about it dying! All players are welcome, as well. If you have a story to tell, come on in! New people are loved.
  • A diverse and open setting that allows players to participate in shaping SotE's unique world and culture. Many of the lands and countries in SotE's setting have been suggested by the players, and players are allowed to submit their own races, religions, and even plants and animals to the site. The game is in a constant state of change and growth, and what you do does matter!
  • Player-driven plots that range anywhere from casual one-on-one role-plays to epic, site-wide conflicts and adventures. Both are encouraged!
  • The opportunity to play as any original character you like, whether it be a humanoid like a human or an elf, an animal like a wolf or a dragon, or even something you've created entirely on your own.
  • The freedom to write, explore, and create with very few rules (while still ensuring in-game harmony). Got a concept you've been dying to try out or an idea that's been gnawing on your brainmeats? Unleash it here.

Meliora would probably be considered a medieval-esque setting, but it may be worth a quick examination. It isn't extremely active as we're still a rather small community (I revived the site a bit over a month ago when I took over management), but we're all incredibally friendly and open to new members. There are a lot of opportunities to be creative, so you may find it appealing. I can answer any questions that you might have, so don't hesitate to ask.

. . .There Are Many Paths to Tread. . .
In a land governed by royalty and divinity, how will you choose to live? Will you devote your life to your deity, serving them as a priest or priestess? Will you live independently, giving up the protection of the divine? Will you reside within one of the cities of the eight under the watchful eyes of the god you trust? Are you one of the extraordinary who can earn the right to share in the powers of the gods as a mage? There are many choices to be made, for in Meliora, all things are possible.

. . .The Power of the Eight. . .

Long ago there was a battle with the mighty Leviathon that changed Meliora forever. The greatest mages of this time joined their power to destroy the Leviathon, but paid a great price. They perished. Their power was lost, but the land was restored. Years later, individuals from across the land began displaying powers greater than those of the mages that restored Meliora. They became the eight deities of fire, water, earth, air, day, night, time and fate. Since then, some deities have come and gone, but the spirits of nature have chosen others to rise in their places. The Eight are the most powerful beings in Meliora. Your fate is in their hands.

. . . Nothing Lasts Forever. . .

Meliora has prospered for many years, but all good things must come to an end. The Leviathon proved that tragedy can strike when it is least expected. It is only a matter of time before peaceful Meliora is, once again, shaken to the core. Will you be the change you wish to see, or will you step back and watch as others control your destiny? Even the smallest person can change the course of the world. Every soul counts.

Join us and find your way. . .
Meliora

Well, I've got two for you, each with a similar but different element of fantasy to it. AWF is and original fantasy site set in Chicago. Basically the whole world is as it is today, except there are magickal beings who have constantly been waging war over humanity. You can play a mortal or a magickal being.

The second is one that's still in the works. A Buffy The Vampire Slayer site. We're set a year after season one (but Season Two did NOT happen). If you're interested, drop me a PM!

In the beginning of time, there was only magick. From magick, the goddess formed. They alone could control the energy from which they were born and they alone created the Planes of Existence. They alone created the Law and the Will. They alone started the Explosion. They alone guide the universe. They alone see the futures. They alone are how we got here. They alone are why we suffer, why we love, why we feel and why we learn. They alone are everything.

Time and time again, the world we live in has been afflicted with war. Faction against faction, brother against brother, and man against man. Nothing comes from these battles but blood and the idea that the winner has saved someone. Even now, the wars we fight serve no real purpose but to bring about red rivers, yet we find them to be necessities, to be ever important. There is one war however that is a must. The war between Good and Evil.

When magick arose within the creatures on the blue rock, the Goddesses selected a single family. Their blood would be the blood that would serve as the chalice for the Will. Their blood would be the bearer of truth and of power. Their blood would be that of the Royal. They would be the Queens of Queens and the Lords of Lords. They would be the guides of True Magick, and they would not be alone. They would have their guardians, and they would have their hearts. They will never be alone, for as we read we know them. They are the Royals, and their magick is our magick. Their blood is our blood, and their suffering is our suffering.
-The Book of Truth passage three hundred twenty seven
The Royals have always been around, or so we’ve hoped. As the beacon of light, the Royals have always united magick in times of crisis against the darkness, and have helped to unite the Mortals in the fight against the hidden. The Royals, while a once large family, have been killed to the brink of extinction. Three Royal Bloodlines still live, and they’re getting smaller. Witch, Vampire, and Were. The Royal Bloodlines are still alive within those races, but time is running out. The guardians of good must act quickly if they are to save the powers they were bound to protect.

And they would be the evil. They called themselves the light, but they themselves where the absence. They were the abyss, but with Our Light they were banished. They fight to conquer the Mortal, but we protect against them. We fight for the Mortal, and we fight for our Blood. We fight for the Power. We fight for the Goddesses. We battle the demon and the darkness for the Light.
-The Book of Destiny passage thirty-seven

Demons, which have been rarely united as a race, have started conducting organized attacks. The Council of The Abyss has supposedly existed since before the Freemaker and this Council of Demons and Dark Practitioners have managed to wither away the Royals. They now stand resolved, with many of their followers behind them, in one single goal; eradicate the Royal.

Now take your stand in the world. Will you fight for the Royal? Will you battle for the Blood, or will you find your stance elsewhere? Will you stand in the Darkness and wage war for the Council of The Abyss, or will you be a stand alone darkness? How will your destiny play into the complicated world? Will you be a mortal who opens the door to Darkness? Whatever your role in this world, get ready, because you’ll have nothing to cling to

Have a look at us too. We started in Rent fandom, post canon, but in the past two years, we've developed into an RL game based in New York which happens to have the canons from that fandom running about. . . You don't need to know a thing about the musical or the movie, since the characters are just characters, nothing more. We're grown up, decent writers, and friendly as can be. Have a look. We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either.
Other notes:Based on the Broadway musical RENT, set post-canon, though slightly AU to keep Angel alive. We have evolved and changed over the past two years from a fandom RP to a RL RP with some fandom characters.  We are lucky to have a great group of OCs who are keeping the plot moving and changing quickly, and we always welcome new writers and OCs with open arms.
We also have a brand new board!  It's pretty and blue and still has that new board smell!!  Come see.  It's pwetty!!!

Thanks a ton for the offers, guys. The four that I'm taking a closer look at are Graves and Roses, Three Wishes, Remnants of the Earth, and -- ironically, because I thought I'd only be looking at all-original RPGs, Out In The Black. ShinLi kind of found the inner fangirl in me when it came to that. I haven't actually looked at the forums, though. I figure I'll have all weekend to do that.

But thanks again. I saw a bunch of great RPGs out there -- it's just that not all of them are really my type of game.

Twenty five years ago Amana was becoming a truly dark place. Aelin Telimar was only a small push away from plummeting the nation into a war that would tear her apart. Only two very special beings, from Aelin's own future, could stop him. And it was for that reason that Jackline and Connor Telimar defied magical law and traveled through time to when they were only infants.

Once they had the people of Amana on their side, things were easy, and fairly quick to end. The twins, yes Jackline and Connor were in truth the children of Aelin, fought their father, with a little help, and managed to stop him. They believed they had killed him. And they might have if not for their little sister,Jocelyn Elanis, who was totally devoted to the man she considered her father.

Jocelyn used every bit of strength in her to defend her father, mostly without her siblings knowledge, and did succeed in saving his life. She hid him deep in the heart of Barena, for though he was alive, at the time he was very weak from the battle. But over the years since, he is regaining his old strength.

The time is coming closer. Will the darkness that the twins worked so hard to prevent return? Or will they be able to stop their father once and for all this time? Will Amana return to darker times?

1. an ideal place or state.
2. place that does not exist.

2012. The world is a fetid place. Pollution has caused men and women to become incapable of reproducing. Earth has evolved into a pig-pen for crooks, frauds, murderers, and hungry capitalists without the sound of childrens’ laughter. Although the adults that are left can credit technology to living a longer, healthier life, human population all over the globe cannot sustain itself due to a zero percentage birth-rate in every country. The green planet has become a fiercely dog-eat-dog world, and all hope is diminished.

Please, please
Give me a re-mix

The Beginning
A group of desperate scientists make a discovery twenty years later, a human fetus that is strong enough to survive. Despite mutations and errors in the process, the scientists kept going with their experimentation and when she was nine months old they discovered that she had powers beyond any normal human. Her powers seemed to correlate with her spider-like appearance, but the WDBCC were delighted: they had an idea. They devised a plan to make more of these mutated children to use them for their own advantages. With a whole army of mutants on their side there would be no limits to what they could accomplish, or control.

Not the End
A year after the "birth" of the "spider-child", something rare took place in Scotland. A small town had a pregnant woman inhabiting their community. She had a baby boy, soon named by the awed villagers as "Angeles". He has unexplainable powers that many believe is a gift from a merciful divinity. Almost fifty years later, and the boy is well past childhood. A new city has grown around the school that he established for gifted children like himself and has been known as a safe haven for individuals looking for a better life. This is Evalesco.

The Rise of the Mafia
Soon, a new group mushrooms up and wants a piece of the profit that the scientists are making. Consisting of gifted and civilians alike, they make an ultimatum with the WDBCC. By making their own profits, the third party grows stronger than ever, but they secretly remain neutral to the world and the scientists.

Your Turn
Now it is up to the people to make their own decisions. All three classes are united with one dream: an invincible Utopia. But will a dream be enough to stop a war that could wipe out those who remain?

    Welcome to Myridia.

Welcome to a small, flourishing metropolis of diverse cultures and knowledge. Welcome to a country of fascinating characters, magic, and wonder. Welcome to a world so familiar, and yet so different. Myridia is a land pressed between two powerful empires. It is a land struggling to survive under the gaze of giants, but had persevered for decades. Its magically gifted population gives it a powerful edge, as well as its strategic geographical position.

    But tides often change…

It is only a matter of time before one of the empires tries to take Myridia as just another prize in their war chest. It is only a matter of time before an empire brings blood and war to Myridia’s gates. This has caused tensions to stir uneasily amongst the proud people of Myridia. They begin to debate on their nation’s next move, with some calling out to submit to either of the greater territories.

Yet the pride of independence rings strong in many of the citizens; whether it be for tradition, for belief, or for pure ignorance.

But intrigue also churns within Myridia’s borders. With an active governance system in which political factions rule, the clashes within Myridia are often more fiery than those outside its borders. Everyone has a say, and political disagreement can often be dangerous, risky, and precarious. Factions fight for dominance, and the ever present guardianship of The Council looms silently.

A land built upon the ambitions, heartache, and passion of its people, Myridia is a place where the smallest of tales can have the most powerful of consequences.

In a land in which all factions have a say, a single voice might just make the difference.

    Will it be yours?
Betrayal. Intrigue. Deception.

In the mists of time, long before Saetan was called to make his legend in the realms, wearing the darkest of jewels, the Black. Long before he used that power to rub the entire territory of Zuulman out of existence. Long before the coming of the most powerful witch to walk the realms. The dark weaving of Mother Night calls you from the comfort of the Darkness to bring you forth into a world of light and conflict.

In the glaring Light you see edges and differences that had no meaning in the Darkness, differences in race and social status, leading to conflict with ones self, your neighbors, sometimes all the world. You have been born into a world where violent emotions of hate, fear, jealousy and anger, especially anger, can erupt for the smallest offense.

You are Blood. Mother Night has given you more, a caste and the ability to wear a jewel. Your caste and jewel are yet more means to differentiate you from your peers and bring more hate, jealousy and delicious anger. Yes delicious anger, for your jewel can channel your anger into power, power to strike your enemies and power to frighten your friends. It is indiscriminate, cold, and dark, the darker the more powerful and frightening.

Simply by being Blood you are dangerous to all around you, everyone sensitive to the chill in the air that announces one of the Blood tapping into the dark depths of their jewel. It is the calm, cold, still moment before all that anger and dark power erupts upon the world in dark violence destroying all that are not protected by the power of an even darker jewel. There is no jewel darker than the Black. When Blood wearing Black go cold all you can do is summon your courage. There is no place you can run to, no one to whom you can pray. You have to summon the courage to take the anger that fuels the Black away, to lead the Blood gone cold from the killing edge.

It can't be all anger, hate and conflict that the Light offers, for Mother Night could not be so cruel to call you to a world so harsh as to offer only pain. The jewels gifted to the blood respond to, enhance and violently manifest all emotions not just the destructive ones. Blood will sing to Blood, jewels will sing to jewels, lords will sing to witches and Princes will sing to Queens, the darker the Blood and the jewels the more violent the passion and the more beautiful the song.

What will be your song? Will be a song of pain full of the wild notes of war, conflict and death? Will it be a song of celebration strong enough to stir the ancient hearts of the dragons still rumored to live in the realms, thanking them for the gifts they bestowed to the Blood? Will it be a song of sorrow, a keening howl or mournful dirge, deep and dark enough to blunt the edges and ease the anger? Will your song call to all the Blood of the ages resonant with a violent joyful power, transformative to all it touches and born from the deepest love?

Somewhere a weaver of dark webs calls the silken strands of joy, pain, sorrow and celebration left in your passing and the passing of all the Blood. Black strands of the darkest power fitted one to the other into the darkest web, forming the shape of a dream, and one day that dream will be made flesh, calling Witch to the realms.

Welcome into the world. Welcome to the Darkest Web.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Darkest Web is a mature, advanced role-playing board based off of Anne Bishop’s Black Jewel Trilogy. In a time of blood and tribulation, we are forging our own tales about the men and women that make up the Blood Race. Romance, war, and scandals fill up the pages of our book as we tell the stories of those that could become legends. The Darkest Web has been an active board for two years now, and we plan on being around for many more to come. We have wonderful administration team and very active players. We are always looking for new players and new ideas. We would love to have you.
