Title: Ho-hum
Description: Check out the notes, please

December, Esq - June 22, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
Genre: I'm not too picky now, but I don't want fantasy
Difficulty: Any
Type(s) of Creature(s): Any
Preferred Rating: Anything but NC-17
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Any
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Any

Other Notes: Please read carefully because I have a lot of stuff.
  • Firstly, I don't know how much time I have to dedicate to a board, but if it's interesting, I'm there. :]
  • Secondly, I love making crazy characters. The board must be open for crazy characters. I can definitely make them fit whatever genre it is, though. In addition, I love making characters period so I love unlimited character-making abilities. That's not a necessity, though.
  • Thirdly, I want some respect, darn it.
  • Fourthly, admins with sticks up their asses need not apply.
  • Fifthly, I am not going to make 500 words per post or even 300 words per post. I believe in quality rather than quantity, so I'm going to do what needs to be done in order to make a quality post.
  • Sixthly, I'm not huge into "current trends" like all lowercase names and whatnot, but if it's a good board, I'm not going to turn it away for this reason.
I'm very picky because of previous bad experiences with boards, so don't be offended if I turn your board down. Thank you and have a nice day.

I don't know if Harry POtter constitutes as Fantasy...it probably does but anyways, we're always looking for new characters on our board. Its a marauders Era rpg. Teachers/ ministers of magic/bad guys and students all welcome.

PG13 board / relaxed in regards to activity but not too relaxed! / The admins are myself and another person. we definitely don't have "sticks up our asses" because we are all busy people and assume that members are mature enough to get on with things, we don't need to watchdog their plots and posts and respect is a big thing . We won't tolerate rudeness or trouble makers though like any decent forum. / postage...as long as it is enough to reasonably move the plot along, whatever works/ character making: we are reasonable but our mary sue/gary stu policy will stick - crazy is fine as long as its time appropriate. (LOL) / lastly, I certainly won't be offended if you turn us down....some boards suit some people and not others.

Click on the image that I use for my signature to find the board!!

Anyways, if it isn't for you, good luck with your search!

My site is based off of a Series of Unfortunate Events, but it doesn't matter if you've read the books or not, because it just uses some of the ideas, not the actual plot of the books and only a few of the characters actually in the books.

It's rated PG-13 and the post minimum is two three-sentence paragraphs, simply so that people don't just go around posting one liners. I ADORE crazy characters, and you can make as many as you'd like. It's pretty open-ended for the most part.

Feel free to PM me on here or contact me in the cbox there or whatever. VFD: the world is quiet here.

Well, you're welcome to come join us. I know you've seen my ad 87 times, so I won't even toss it up here, just answer your points:

* Firstly, I don't know how much time I have to dedicate to a board, but if it's interesting, I'm there. :]
I think we're pretty interesting. I usually can find all manner of interesting things to do.

* Secondly, I love making crazy characters. The board must be open for crazy characters. I can definitely make them fit whatever genre it is, though. In addition, I love making characters period so I love unlimited character-making abilities. That's not a necessity, though.
We have an eventual 6-character limit, so there's that, but that might be enough ;)

* Thirdly, I want some respect, darn it.
Yup, all about that.

* Fourthly, admins with sticks up their asses need not apply.
*checks ass* Nope, good there.

* Fifthly, I am not going to make 500 words per post or even 300 words per post. I believe in quality rather than quantity, so I'm going to do what needs to be done in order to make a quality post.
No post minimum. I think they're dumb.

* Sixthly, I'm not huge into "current trends" like all lowercase names and whatnot, but if it's a good board, I'm not going to turn it away for this reason.
Me either. Trends are dumb.

December, Esq - June 22, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
Ise, I'm not a huge Marauders fan, but thank you for sharing.

Elphie, I've read a couple of books and while I do enjoy reading them, I don't think I'd enjoy RPing them. Thank you, though.

Angel, One day I'll join your RP. Just you wait. ;] But for now, I'm not quite too sure I'm in the mood. Hmm. I'll definitely keep it in mind, though.

Etcetera - June 22, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
You can always have a look at Affections & Affectations and see if that's to your liking.

I haven't checked my ass for sticks lately, but I think I'm good. <.< We can be strict when it comes to realism, but we're nice people.

Other than that, I think we mostly fit your requirements.

castaway - June 22, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
Hey, I'm not sure if this is the kind of genre you're interested in, but if you want to give it a look feel free. It's a Lost site, but knowledge of show isn't really required (we have members who've only seen an episode or two and just like the premise). We're pretty relaxed about types of characters and the only posting requirement we have is that ideally, posts would be at least 5 sentences, but we don't hound people about it. It's an rp for all levels of experience, pg-13. Everyone's pretty friendly, and as etcetera said, I haven't checked for sticks but I'd like to think I'm an okay admin. And I don't believe in any of that "your display name must be all lowercase, and have extra, nonsensical punctuation in it" crap.

So yeah, like I said, not sure if it's a genre you're interested in, but if you want to stop in, the link's in my signature.

LittleRikku - June 22, 2008 09:37 PM (GMT)
Hehe, if you're looking for anything that isnt fantasy, i got a board for you. You'd have to get past the fact that we're VERY new and we only got 7 members registered, but hopefully we'll get more in the future.

Our plot will move at a pretty decent pace, that even if you're gone for a couple weeks, if you just make sure you read the announcements, you're good. I think we're fairly interesting, so it's up to you to decide. We have a 3 character limit as a standard, mainly to keep relatively similar characters. But i make plenty of exceptions, so i'm sure i can stretch that rule for you. =]

Respect is our middle name. And those who dont respect our middle name, they'll recieve a smite-ing.

Though there is a rule for this, i try and keep a requirement of two paragraphs, at 5 sentences each. Again, mainly for those who always leave one word posts. But i make exceptions on this too.

Las Vegas is where anything goes, and everything stays. All the secret affairs, gambling, it's where people go for time to just have 'fun'. But then, there's always cheaters to this system and sometimes, it's not always fun for everyone else.

In 1978, the government conjured a plan to help Las Vegas stay under control. This ‘containment’ program, ran by Michael Thomas Eldridge, a former government official, focused on primary first-hand patrol around the Strip. The main mission was to keep Vegas safe without getting in the way of the ordinary Police. At the same time however, their presence must have been kept secret, and every employee sworn to the same secrecy that the program known as Project: FALCON never existed.

But no matter how hard you try to keep them, secrets are revealed... . Eldridge, realizing this immediately after a while, had a violent decision ready at hand. It was now becoming much more of a usage to make sure all witnesses of intervention to be shot down immediately, and left as if it was a draw between two victims.

So the vice president of FALCON, Eva Amelia Dobson, took matters in her own hands, beginning a protest within the organization. But after a complete dismissal for 'treason', she would be fired from her high ranking position and gone from the program itself. But when she left, the followers that made up half the team, went with her. And Eldridge had to just move on, even though he shut down the program for a while to regain members.

Two years later, a new hotel, known as The Fatale was opened on the Strip. Like always, a new hotel was inspected by investigators released by FALCON. Little did they know, it was all a plan the owner of the hotel had plotted. The two investigators staying in their suite were murdered the next morning of their check-in, and a message written through the laptop, an e-mail sent to the Falcon’s Headquarters. “This is war…and this time, Vegas’ reinvention will be under right hands…and that is team: RAVEN. Might as well change your HQ now, we want a fair game. With the power I got this time, it won’t be so easy as your previous assignments. Now, you’re our assignment Eldridge… - Eva Amelia” But unlike FALCON, instead of having people come to her, she maintained secrecy by having her vice, Bennet, come out to people, town heroes and people who are capable of being part of RAVEN, and to receive a job offer. Those who accepted it, were given money to come to Vegas and to join on behalf of the invite Bennet gave them.

Eldridge knew if he made things public, things wouldn’t be solved. There was no proof against RAVEN, and any acts of public violence would have to shut down their program. And Eldridge had no intentions of doing that. So now, you must assist in anyway you can. Will you join Eva’s rebelling RAVENS or assist the FALCONS in shutting down their program and controlling Vegas. It’s beyond Law enforcement, now its time for something a little more different.

But yeah, hope you consider us ^-^

AD VITAM AETERNAM
to life everlasting

Throughout history, in every civilization, there have been those who strive to be remembered. To live forever, in the minds and hearts of men. Or to simply live forever. Great and horrible deeds have been done, all in the name of eternity, immortality.

It has been 300 years since the fall of Voldemort, and though the future brings advancements in technology and magic, in policy and practice, some things never change. There are rumors of corruption within the Ministry, especially about Minister for Magic Quentin Abbey. Here and there, vocal Ministry critics are disappearing off the streets- coincidence? And of course a new year is beginning at Hogwarts, with feelings of apprehension from longtime Headmistress Neredia Dauntrye.

Our names will be revered. Our deeds will be remembered.

We refuse to be forgotten, lost to the winds of time.
We will raise our glasses together: a toast.

"To Life Everlasting."

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

Star Wars Dark Times

The year is 60 ABY...

During the aftermath of the Yuuzhan Vong war a hole was left in the galactic structure to allow criminal activity to seep into and grow. It is now around thirty years after the war and most everything is fine, except for the fact that crime now seems to infect everything from local enforcement to certain government officials of the New Republics Senate.

But things are not always good in a growing galaxy now are they...

user posted image

The New Republic
-Slowly crumbling from the rising crime rates and rampant corruption that plagues it. There seems to be little to combat the crime, but those who are intent on fixing it are working their hardest to return the republic to what it once was.

The New Jedi Order
-Once persecuted for ages by the republic, they now seek to help restore the republic. Their main reasoning behind this help is they know that the republic cannot survive without the jedi's assistance.

The Imperial Remnant
-Otherwise known as the former empire, they now mostly occupy a sliver of what used to be in their command. Crime too affects the planets of the remnant but it is nowhere near that of the republic. The major effect on the imperial remnant is the fighting that goes on amongst themselves. One side fights to keep the current emperor in power, the other seeks to replace him with someone more capable.

The New Sith Order
-The Sith Order has managed to grow while they have been unseen from most eyes in the galaxy. They have even managed to acquire a small fleet of their own to wreak havoc upon portions of the galaxy. While evil, they are a perfect opposite of the New Jedi order, and just as skilled in the force.

The Mandalorians
-The clans of the mandalorians have been united for some time now and have taken up the role of mercenaries while still being a major faction of the galaxy. While physically skilled in the art of combat as well as having a good sized fleet, they just don't feel a renewed conquest is that much of an importance right now. They prefer to make some extra credits on the side while adding a bit of an extra fight into the mix.

The Criminal Underworld
-The Criminal Underworld is very strong for being made up of very divided groups. Whether it be bounty hunting, an actual criminal ring, or just something illegal, the crime is still a very present factor in the galaxy. Crime may lead you down the wrong road, but it also has tendencies to make you a very very rich person if you play your cards right.

Independent
-The Indpendents are mostly for themselves in the galaxy. While usually unaffiliated with anything involving a major faction they may have their way of getting something from those major factions, whether it be some work or maybe they own a company who sells something to the larger factions.

...While times in the galaxy are dark, and the future is unforseen as to whether or not things will become darker or clear up, the people of the galaxy are taking a stand. Senators, Military personnel, people making their own way, those giving in to criminal activities, or just someone who does something for what they believe in, all are working to shape the galaxy to something different. Your choice is your own, your path is your own...may the force be with you in these dark times.

Oh, I just adore crazy characters. They make life grand. And it's even better if they act normal but are truly crazy. We have a two to three paragraph minimum for posts but that's normal. I'm pretty friendly and the only admin and I don't have a stick up my ass. That I know of  We are looking for someone to fill in the major canons.

The great Emperor Darius Caelius of Rome was just half a season into his treaty with Egypt, another great empire. Darius Caelius signed a treaty with Amoniah Minkah, the young and brave pharaoh of Egypt, to establish a trade policy with each other, in terms to bring peace. Together, they were friends with each other, outside the palaces and in private.

From the phoenix’s ashes rises a great ball of Flame,
This Flame shall engulfed the land, killing the greens of the earth
Wither aren’t thou Holder of the Flame, like greens at thy feet.
The Flame shall boil the seas and boil thy blood of the Holder.

But Darius Caelius wanted more peace throughout the known world. Be as he was a strong warrior in court and in battle, what he thrive for was peace. The only large obstacle in his way to obtain it was the stubborn and arrogant emperor of Greece, Alexius Damianos. Trouble as he was, Darius beseech an audience with him. Before that audience could come he was murdered.

Emperor Darius Caelius of Rome was murdered! Yes, murdered of most foul proportions!

From darkness comes not but more night but sun
Sun shall over come the Flame and become the Holder.
Thy peace be at ruin and boil at peace
Know not of the greens and the seas ashes

Darius Caelius of Rome lies in ashes as his soul is carried over to the afterlife, taken care by the gods. It was a sad day when he was struck down so quickly. Poison found in his evening glass of wine as his cold hands gripped tightly around the stem of the goblet.

Now with his passing, his eldest son, Erebus Caelius now rules Rome. A man with no known heir, only with his only mistress beautiful and manipulative at his side, takes the crown of Rome. His brother, the next heir to the throne, is a trouble maker for the family. Everyone fears that his humor of a man will break the treaty for acting out of turn.

By gods of the Flame’s gods and by The Holder’s gods and by the Sun’s gods
Be without tribulations and no true trials
For will bring doom and upon the dried up land and boiling waters.
By unity could bring thy doom if seas are not rested and ground not greener

At Darius Caelius’ burial, a prophecy was made of the future. From this prophecy, people fear the future of their world, as it interpreted in many ways from the evilest of evils to the blessing of the gods. No one knows for sure but some people follow it.
In has been two summers since the passing of the great and once powerful Darius Caelius’ death and the prophecy. There have been rumors through the land that is a secret organization that mean to bring down the peace between Rome and Egypt. The only know means of this group are that they go by the name Constantia Et Virtute or, by firmness and courage. But will they bring down the peace between them?

But from the phoenix’s ashes rises but another phoenix, darker then the first.
Dark phoenix soars and takes hold of the Flame, thy Holder, and thy Sun’s gods.
Power into the dark phoenix’s heart know no bounds but trials and tribulations.
Beseech they light and pray to the elder phoenix’s ashes.

But for all those that are faithful to the emperor and to the gods, they are called Semper Fidelis.

Be always faithful.

overview

You've arrived in Gaimen City. Fasten your seatbelt: it's going to be a rough ride.

You can find anything you want in Gaimen, if you look hard enough and ask the right questions. Information, jobs, sex, drugs, the time of your life or the end of it. Be yourself but be careful ... you'll get eaten alive if you lay yourself bare.

Gaimen City is fraught with peril and excitement. The City is governed by three ruling families: de Winter, Treymaine and Jade. Constantly forging false alliances, fighting new wars, bargaining over territory and trade. Few in Gaimen City are neutral: how can you be, when almost everything is owned by either one family or another? Fence-sitters live short lives. Choose a side or have a side chosen for you.

And yet, perhaps the feud between families will be laid aside, at least for a time. Recently, a new order has emerged: the Libertines. Their agenda is not yet fully disclosed: it seems they seek to erradicate the violence and crime and restore Gaimen City to the People. You're kidding, right? The Three Families are not about to let that happen. They've begun sharing information in a bid to silence the Libertines forever, whose raids and assassinations of important players are beginning to put a strain on business. Can it be done? Or has the reach of the Libertines already planted itself too deeply in the city's foundations?

Gaimen City is an alternate reality roleplay for intermediate to advanced players. Please keep in mind that this is an adult board, with adult themes and content.

We love crazy characters. There is no enforced post length and current "style" trends are something most of us ignore fully. Give us a look!

AG is a PotC-themed RP, but many liberties have been taken with the movie plots. We lean more heavily toward being a historical board with slight fantasy elements than we tend to the PotC fandom. Our time period is roughly around the 1750s, give or take a few years. Plots are member-created and member-driven, with fresh creative always welcome.

There is a ShoutBox at the bottom of the main page if you have any questions.

Starting before Dead Man's Chest and adopting characters from all three movies, Aztec Gold rewrites the sequels--borrowing plots and events, but adding it's own twist to the story with the addition of original characters and more plots than even At World's End could boast. After the Curse of the Black Pearl, nothing is set in stone, the plot and what can happen is as fluid and ever changing as the sea. And as harsh and un-tameable as a sea goddess who may yet be restored...

Just tossing in my two cents :p This board is a full city, so you can have any tyupe of character you want, teenager, university student, someone locked up, or someone just getting out of a mental hospital, or just a city member. There are a lot of canons still but we always welcome new people :D

Welcome to Louisville, Kentucky; the sixteenth largest city in the United States. Located in the middle of the country, it doesn't seem to have a lot to offer. At least not in the way of beaches. However, it does have the Kentucky Derby, Thunder over Louisville (one of the largest fireworks displays in the world), a great night life, and a great variety of people.

It also has districts. The five main ones are Downtown, Old Louisville, University of Louisville, Bardstown Road, and the East End. Sure, there are others. But they don't have the je ne sais quoi the rest of the city seems to hold.

downtown louisville
Downtown Louisville is the stretch located just along the Ohio River. The skyline that you see from almost anywhere in town (except possibly the East End) is here, along with most of the best clubs. During the day, this section of town is filled with young professionals, all trying to make it in the world. Hospitals, night clubs, a nightly block party... Downtown has it all.

old louisville
Old Louisville is allegedly double the size of Monoco and it's the third largest collection of Victorian mansions in the nation. But don't let that fool you. Most of the mansions have been renovated to provide apartments for the citizens. There is no type of person you'll find here. Sure, there are a lot of college students due to it's close proximity to campus. But there are also people from every other walk of life. Entertainment wise, there are a few bars down here and a park. The eating here is pretty good though.

university district
Unfortunately, some people in Louisville are still in school. The University District not only houses the local university (University of Louisville) but the high school as well, if you happen to still be in that part of your life. Around the University is a lot of various fast food restaurants. The housing in this area is all on campus, only for college students. But that's okay, because the university district is mainly for the students of the two schools.

bardstown road
Bardstown Road is one of the most popular places in Louisville, at least for the younger set. On one very long road is pretty much anything you could imagine. There are clubs, a morgue, tons of restaurants, stores, tattoo parlors, and all the scene kids you could even dream of. While Old Louisville is like living in Greenwich Village, visiting Bardstown Road is like visiting Greenwich Village.

the east end
The East End of Louisville is pretty much the rich section of the town. The houses and apartments here cost a fair amount of money. In fact, an extravagant amount. This is one of the safest parts of Louisville, due to the fact that not that not everyone can afford to live in this area. The malls are all down here and everyone seems to be content in this area... unless you happen to want a good club night, then you're out of your element.

welcome to the real world
You've gotten a tour of the city. Now it's time to decide if you want to move to the Ville. Once you do, you'll find friends, enemies, lovers, and maybe even happiness. After all, isn't that what living is all about?

Welcome to Louisville. Welcome to real life.

Welcome to the real world.

_BURN
"I'm so sorry—love, Elliott. God forgive me."
On December 8th, 2004 Dimebag Darrell took three shots to the head while performing onstage. Twenty-four years before that John Lennon was shot four times in the back, at the entrance hallway of the Dakota. On April 8th, 1994 thousands of teens tuned into MTV to find distressed VJs selling air time to any company willing to give up the cash in-between vague details about Kurt Cobain eating led. On July 3, 1971 Jim Morrison ate the dirt sandwich. October 21, 2003 – Elliot Smith – two stab wounds. The examples go on and on. Rock ‘n roll is growing up, and growing old. Conforming; becoming complacent – the only choice is a slow death or an immediate one. Burn out or fade away? Music Television plays reality TV that is like no life I have ever know. No one trusts the government, and the nation is fighting a war many of its occupants simply don’t agree with. Eye liner sales have increased dramatically, Hottopic has never done so well – and yet, more often then not, music with any substance is ignored, hidden, murdered – if it doesn’t get a chance to kill itself first.Imagine if you will, that every rock star you have ever loved never got old. Image that they never sold out, and that they never died. Pretend, for a second that you could set the past on fire. That somewhere, in some world, all these people exist in the same town not knowing their potential. Not knowing what lies in store for them – money, success, fame, glamour. And inevitably death, but what if the when, where and how of that was up to you? Behold _BURN, set in a loathsome town of Ohio, during the tedious year of 2008. A place where your heroes live on as disillusioned teens, just trying to survive amongst a society that just doesn’t understand and probably never will.

Welcome to St. Tristan's School for Girls. EXCEPT it's not just for girls anymore.
St. Tristan's has been forced to merge with a nearby all boy school Karl Emery's
Academy for Young Men. Karl Emery's hasn't been doing too well do to low
enrollment. They were forced to fire all their staff and now only the Headmaster
follows the boys to St. Tristans. St. Tristan's isn't your ordinary school for girls.
There are many quirks about this school from the girls to the Headmaster. The
girls are all very different from one another and there are many cliques, but they
all get along. The older girls might look crazy, but you haven't met the first, second
and third years yet. These girls don't want Karl Emery's to merge with them. They
want their school to stay the way it is. Karl Emery's boys aren't all different like the
girls are. They're stuck up and annoying to these girls. The only boys they really
want around are their Headmaster, Science teacher and two townies that come in
once in a while. These kids are learning some academics, but mostly they're learning
about life. That is what these teacher are there for.

I have two, if yah wanna take a peek. The links are both in my siggy.

THEIR GREATEST ADVENTURE is a roleplay based on the tv show "The Tribe" about a virus that wipes out the entire adult population and the kids are left to fend for themselves and keep the dream alive.

BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS is a roleplay based on several different crime shows like Monk, CSI, Bones, etc. The basic idea is that all of them are connected somehow to each other through one or three cases.

Both are low activity right now and I'm trying to revamp them up despite their being open for awhile now. Canons and originals are available. Writing level ... well, the most active players and usually the mods/admins are advanced. The tribe one has a couple who are more intermediate.

at least you'll be entertained for a few minutes, lol.
