Welcome to RPG-Directory, or RPG-D for short. My name is ShinLi and I am 20 years old (turning 21 in march). I live in the Netherlands. For people who have no clue what that is. It's a very small country in Europe, it has around 16 million people (small lol). I live up north, in a province called Friesland, where we also have our own language besides Dutch! It's called 'Frysk' in my language, or Frisian in English. I'm proud of the little culture we have here, and I see myself more as a Frisian then a Dutch girl. I can only speak three languages, Frisian, Dutch and English, my German and especially my French is very limited :lol:

Anyway, getting back to the point again. I love to roleplay, and that is why I have made this forum. Next to that I really love Harry Potter. My other hobbies are Drawing, Photography, Painting and Reading. I also love to be on MSN and chat with my friends. Further I enjoy gaming, and I own a Gamecube, N64, Playstation 2 and a Nintendo DS and GBA and GBC ^^.

At the moment I own one forum besides RPG-D. It's a roleplay based on the series 'The Tribe'. It's a post apocalyptic near future rp where adutls have died because of a virus that swept across the globe. And now kids and teenagers have to survive on their own. It opened on 16th january 08 and so far it's going pretty well.

Other things about me? Well I love music. Anytime it's silent I either open iTunes or put on my radio. My favourite genres include rock, alternative, celtic, metal, gothic, indie and other subgenre's. The favourite bands I listen a lot to currently are Epica, Omnia, Celtic Woman, Fall Out Boy and some other bands.

I'm also developing a serious tv show addiction. Especially I'm getting infected with the Star Trek fever (go trekkies!). I watched TNG, Voyager and Enterprise so far, and I was busy with Deep Space 9, although my hard disk crashed when I was in season 4 or so ><. I love sci-fi shows and other shows I watched are Farscape, Battlestar Galactica (waiting for season 4 ><), Firefly and together with my bf I'm watching Stargate SG1 atm. Other series I enjoy to watch are The Tribe, Jeremiah, Joan of Arcadia, Dead Like Me, Ghost Whisperer, Xena, Hercules, Dragonball, Gundam Wing. And on occasion I watch CSI and House on tv.

Good to meet everyone! This is a great site ShinLi, especially for people who are just starting out with an RPG site. Even for veterans too. I hope to learn a lot and maybe even get a few new people with good RPing skills to join our site! :)

Whats the other language? (i find myself living in such a small world here in NewYork. there is atleast 100 people from every country living here. I dont get the chance to go up to everystranger and ask)

The first language I speak is called Frisian. It's a language only spoken in Friesland, the province where I live in :P. So I can speak three languages ^_^

eh the highest ive seen anyone get up to was 4

Youre very welcome XD. But I'm very bad in languages. I also had french and german at highschool. But I pretty sucked at them, more at french. We have loads of german tourists here but mostly I can't understand them at all. I can only understand the basic words from german XD.

Sadly all i speak is English, but i can pick out a few words in German and Italian. Although i cant really comprehend what people say there... just a few words from my grandmothers.....

I love that people are bi-lingual and tri-lingual (and more) I'm bi-lingual of Brooklyn english counts as a different language, otherwise bot at all.

I'd say the whole American thing counts as a separate language anyway Mel... lol Messing with our language like that lol. ;)

Ah well. Catalan and Frisian, two I wanna learn lol. Ah well, one of these days....

This really is an amazing site! Yeah, about languages I speak fluent English (In Chicagoan form) and then my own languages such s Food-In-Mouth, Coaster-Nerd, and Potter-nerd and then real languages i speak very very minimal spanish but enough communicate to the people at McDonalds if they don't understand with I'm saying in English. Then next school I will begin taking Italian. I Can't wait! ^_^

That's pretty cool about the languages I'd best pull my finger out and learn some more or people will start catching up to me. At the minute I speak:

English, French, Spanish, Urdu (Pakistani) and also a little German. But I'm a really bad speller as you may have noticed, lol

I'm Natasha (known as Tasha, I know I'm effing creative) I speak English, Afrikaans (A purely South African language, it's Dutch mixed with English) and French. Yeah.

Owh, that is interesting, I've always been interested by the Afrikaanse language. We have african whine selling in out supermarket, and I love to read the labels. I can actually read it pretty well and understand what it says.

French is another thing, that's such a hard language to understand and talk :P. But welcome here Natasha ^_^.

Oooh, you're from the Netherlands! I just recently returned from a 3 week stay there with my boyfriend, I was meeting his family. He's Dutch too. :) I am slowly but surely starting to learn Dutch, but so far my main phrase is "ik spreek geen nederlands." :p

If you mind me asking, where does your boyfriend live, which part of the Netherlands? And where do you live lol.

It's cool, because Andy came here for 2 weeks as well (not that he is my bf lol). But yeh, it's cool to have foreign people coming over here.

My boyfriend is from Hazerswoude Rijndijk, near Leiden, though I may have misspelled that a bit. When I visited, we stayed at his friend's house in Alphen aan de Rijn. Myself, I'm from the US, Ohio to be exact. ^_^ I loved my stay, didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back. :D

That is pretty cool, although it isn't anywhere near me lol. I live more up north in the Netherlands. And wow, you really have a long distant relationship, I envy you ^_^. You just have to come and live here lol.

I think that's our plan, I want to live with him in Holland after I finish my bachelor's (and maybe master's?). ^_^ I love the country, the extra freedoms (it's much less conservative there than in the US), I love learning a new language, and just... wub wub! :wub:
