Title: Instruments?
roleplay - June 21, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
Do you play any instruments and if so which one/s?
I play the electric and acoustic guitar. =D
stormyhearted - June 21, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)
I play the harp. :) Badly, I might add, as I'm a beginner.
Kyle3i - June 22, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
It's the one corner of the creative world I've yet to fully explore, and it saddens me.. :(
I do have a harmonica and an ocarina, and I'm decent on both.. but they're lonely, pass-the-time instruments; I'd love to learn piano or violin.
Spiral - June 22, 2008 12:37 AM (GMT)
Trumpet, baritone, and tuba! (in that order) I hate the tuba though....
AshBeanNun - June 22, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
Flute and piccolo. I haven't seriously played in two years though, not since graduating. I prefer to sing. One of these days I'm going to learn how to play the guitar and piano. I also play handbells at church.
TheDarkerDream - June 22, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
I play violin. :] I haven't played in about a year, because my violin wasn't working and then both my teacher and I got busy... I think I'm starting up again over the summer. ^_^ Does singing count as an instrument? Because I do that literally everyday. XD
I'd LOVE to learn how to play the piano. People who can play piano make me jealous.
Nda - June 22, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
Let's see... I started out with the piano (four years, then quit after memorizing Fur Elise), then I played the flute (seven years, 5th-12th grade), and I took a guitar course my senior year. I'd really like to be able to play the guitar more, but I only have a steel string electric guitar. I'd really like an acoustic, but I can't afford it at the moment. -is a sucker for the acoustic guitar- ^-^
sosoclever - June 25, 2008 06:31 PM (GMT)
I played flute and piccolo seriously for twelve or thirteen years, piano for three. I can play "Horse with No Name" on guitar (it's two chords, biggest trouble is getting the rhythm right), and if I start practicing again, I can do "Irish Washerwoman" on tinwhistle at breakneck speed.
I want to get a decent guitar and try learning that again.

Oh I was a total Clarinet junky in middle school, then Science came along and took up my life. lol. My little sister is now playing the clarinet so I help her out. I really want to learn to play the bass and piano. :)

Oh sorry for the double post my computers being screwy tonight. you can delete this.
Jae - June 26, 2008 12:22 PM (GMT)
I played piano for about five years and violin for seven or eight -- technically, I still play violin, but since I entered college, I haven't touched it more than a few times.
.Ra - June 26, 2008 02:11 PM (GMT)
I can play the violin and piano, but I haven’t done it much in a few years. I used to hate having to practice them as a kid, but now it’s nice.
my fair juliet - June 29, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
I used to play piano when I was younger. But currently I play clarinet and drums. It's quite a stretch. xP
silent cacophony - June 29, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
I played trumpet in the band when I was in the 6th/7th grade, but I quit. I tried other stuff, like keyboard, accoustic guitar, drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, and harmonica at various points in my life, but I could never get into any of them. o_O
I'm more of a visual arts person ^^
Sharpiefan - June 29, 2008 10:28 PM (GMT)
I'm learning the fife. Sort of.
(I do Napoleonic-era re-enactment in my spare time. :) )
Maloneis - June 30, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
I've been playing the clarinet for five years now. I'm first clarinet in the band but our band really isn't the greatest. I played the tuba once, it was quite an experience. I used to mess around with playing an old keyboard that I found in my closet for awhile.
sin_personified - June 30, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
I've been playing Clarinet since 6th grade- which is about 7 years, or so.
I really want to learn how to play violin though.
Kental-Akari - July 3, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Long, long ago I played flute, but that only lasted a few months. Then I made the logical switch and began playing trombone! I played that from 5th grade through the end of 10th and stopped, as it wasn't fun anymore. The only instrument I currently play are handbells, which I've played for ten or eleven years if you include the time I spent playing chimes, the precursor of handbells.
aestheticxexistance - July 7, 2008 04:32 AM (GMT)
I used to take flute lessons, and play the piano and drums a bit. I want to learn to play the guitar and violin and more of the piano, though.
MarietheMouse - July 7, 2008 04:45 AM (GMT)
I played the clarinet in band when I was in High School. However, since I've graduated, I haven't played any at all. D= (It's been over 2 years)
Bellatrix Lestrange - July 8, 2008 03:16 AM (GMT)

No ): I wish i played a instrument.I might be learnin the acoustic guitar.I onno if iyll work out though.
Jenno - August 11, 2008 04:57 PM (GMT)
I've been playing the acoustic and electric guitar for about five years, played with a band for two or three years during that time.
I can also play bass although I'm not overly good.
I can play a piano a small amount.
And I used to play the violin for years but it's been a long time since then and I probably couldn't even remember how to play. Although in all honesty I wouldn't mind learning again.
Kunoichi Queen - August 11, 2008 07:10 PM (GMT)
I play oboe, clarinet, and Native American flute. But I really want to play English horn.
Double reeds for the win!
Lei - August 13, 2008 04:20 AM (GMT)
I started playing the violin in Kindergarten. I took a two-year hiatus during high schoo, but I've picked it back up in college, and I now play fiddle in an Irish music ensemble, which is a ton of fun. I've gotta say, I much prefer fiddling to classical violin.
levy - August 13, 2008 09:19 PM (GMT)
^ haha, that's funny, i play the violin too. since 3rd grade. and i'm trying to pick up the bass guitar, but i'm failing at it pretty hard >.> lol
Secret Agent Man - August 13, 2008 09:22 PM (GMT)
Any French horn players in the hizouse? Played for 13 years, but I have since packed it away. I'm trying to learn acoustic guitar, but I have not yet found the motivation to get really dedicated haha.

Dark Cyril - August 26, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
I played the trumpet from sixth grade up until a semester after I graduated, which gives me a little over 7 years, closer to 8. I had 5 years of piano before that.
Right now, I'm very half-assedly learning to play guitar, and I've been fiddling with that off and on for the past 2 years or so. Not much progress has been made on that.
Angelfromhell14 - August 26, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
I know how to play the guitar, which I am still perfecting on. I'm better on a acoustic then a electrics...And I hope soon to learn how to play the Bass...or maybe Drums...
failia - August 26, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
Uh I take guitar lessons, but I'm still pretty much a beginner. Even though I've been taking lessons for like two years.
I can sort of play the piano too (:
nervous. - August 29, 2008 04:49 AM (GMT)
I've been playing the flute for over four years now, in symphonic and marching band. I also play the guitar- not very well, mind you, but I've been at it for... yeah, also about four years, and I have an electric and an acoustic, though I vastly prefer the acoustic.
I can sort of play the piano, and I would LOVE to learn the violin. I think it would be really cool.
Zanie - September 8, 2008 10:00 PM (GMT)
I've been learning the trumpet for about four years now, though I have a flugelhorn and last year I had a french horn on rent, which was fun to play. It's all the same technique, soo... *leshrug* I also had piano lessons for a few years, though the only thing I can play now is Scott Joplin, and sometimes I nick my brothers guitar and have a little strum on that. Otherwise I've dabbled in drums, flute and recorder, none of which I particularly liked, and I'm rather adept on the harmonica. =]
EDIT: Oh, and I really really REALLY wanna learn to play double bass. Probably never gonna happen, since I'm, lyke, 5 foot, but whatever. XD
elphie49 - September 9, 2008 01:48 AM (GMT)
I play piano, violin, guitar and recorder. I'm really only any good at piano though.
Jackal - September 9, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Piano and violin. I'm too Asian. =/
Kwentra - September 9, 2008 11:43 AM (GMT)
I wish I could play more than I do. I really want to learn the keyboard/piano.
I do however have an ability to play the Didgeredoo.
whisper[something]profound - September 10, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)
Recorder, Piano, Guitar, Percussion, Trombone, Saxophone.
Also play the bassoon, probably the one I'm best at - although I play the guitar alot too. Yay for jamming with crazy hippie friends. =P
harlequinaide - September 13, 2008 08:46 PM (GMT)
Guitar and bass. I'm a lot better at the bass, though!
Oh, and the recorder, if that counts for anything. And I'm damn good at Rock Band guitar and drums! xD
