I don't think I'm alone in this, but I hate those members that join and then all they do is sit around in the cbox and complain about being bored. They won't make any threads themselves, and if anyone offers, they either turn them down because they don't like their PB and/or character or they completely ignore them. They keep saying they don't have anywhere to post and they're bored, but they won't DO anything! I'm sorry, person, but you're never going to RP if you don't RP! >.<

However, it would be seriously annoying. That's why I'm all for rules that state "if you don't post in character with your character in x amount of time of being accepted, you will be deleted". That there is awesomeness. Because then you can't get rid of the whiners! ..Well, if you're an admin. ><

No, no, it is nothing of the sort like you describe.

Merely it is this: They desire your attention. Are they really bored? Perhaps, but if they are, you probably can't fix it.

My advice: Get on the offensive and accuse the said person of relative things. They will not be bored by any means and may even have fun in the process, depending on how awesome they may actually be.

I'd advise against what Arakis said, unless you enjoy being kicked off boards for being a jerk. I've never had that much of a problem before. When I do get them as a member I tend to ignore them. As an admin I give them an ultimatum - play or leave. It works. Mostly they leave.

I've seen this happen quite a lot! It bugs me SO BAD. Especially when they use the excuse that they "have no inspiration" when I tell them to role play. Then DONT COMPLAIN!

i'm guilty of complaining when i'm bored but usually, its because i'm waiting on someone to reply to a thread we have or just waiting on someone to make a character or because i have at least two threads open and no one has offered to take them up.

I'm on a site at the moment where even the admins were complaining about being bored. Yet I had repeated many times that I have a couple of open threads lying there un-replied-to. That annoyed me a lot.
