Title: Yay Or Nay
Description: the movie-based RPG

truthfullies - June 19, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
I thought this type of game would be fun.

Someone presents a movie they think would make a great RPG and the next person replies "yay" or "nay" and gives a brief description.

I'll go first:

Boondock Saints

Arakis - June 19, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
...not really, it would either be too tightly bound to the canon characters, or it would degrade into a general mafia story.

Team America

aestheticxexistance - July 6, 2008 07:10 AM (GMT)
Nay, though some might find that to be entertainment.

The Bourne Movies

ribbonss - July 10, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
most definitely yay. continent-hopping would be a very interesting RPG, but this would all have to be before the third movie.

american beauty.

elphie49 - July 10, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
nay

I've never seen it. =D

Phantom of the Opera

EliteGirl - July 10, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
I'm mixed on this one. But I will go with:

Yay because it will bring Phantom of the Opera fans together and it will be a nice alternative to all the "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" roleplays.

How about?

Good Night and Good Luck

Rox - July 13, 2008 04:22 AM (GMT)
Nay, simply because I haven't seen it...

What about Howl's Moving Castle?

Alandree - July 13, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
Yay because Miyazaki is fantastic, and I'd play Howl with gusto.

The Village

Triguntri - July 13, 2008 05:55 AM (GMT)
Nay and Yay. It had a good plot going but still felt empty, nothing to go with it.

The Labyrinth (with David Bowie)?

EliteGirl - July 21, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
Nay, too weird for my liking.
How about..............
The "Terminator" Series? The movie one, with Sarah and John Conner.

missmossxx - July 24, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
Nay because I haven't seen it and am scared to.. but..
Yay, because it's quite popular, so other people might enjoy it.

Matilda?

Smot - July 24, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Yay. I watched that movie all the time when I was younger.

Here's a good one;

Titanic

Satire.and.Ice - July 24, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
Yay - even though all the characters would have to die at some point.... =(

Wall-E

elphie49 - July 24, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
nay

Wall- E was adorable, but I'm not into playing robots, and it would be kind of hard to go through the whole storyline.

Pride and Prejudice

bumble_ - July 24, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
Yay. That would make me... so happy.

The Wizard of Oz

EliteGirl - July 24, 2008 10:28 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (bumble_ @ Jul 24 2008, 09:41 PM)
Yay. That would make me... so happy.

The Wizard of Oz

Nay. There's already "Wicked RPGs, which is based on "Wizard Of Oz"

The Da Vinci Code

Fablezzz - July 25, 2008 07:57 AM (GMT)
Yay, but I don't think it'd work for very long or be too popular.

Very, very complicated.

Freedom Writers

Kitty5roses - August 5, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
Nay, because it would be very hard to excpand past the original caste of characters.

The Matrix

Lady Hikari - August 5, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
YAY! I enjoy those movies!

Spaceballs

.cheshire.cat. - August 6, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
YAY parody rpg boards are fun.

wanted

samaside - August 6, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Yay and Nay. It might be hard to pull off. Besides, I thought it was kind of boring. But it'd be a good board idea, I think.

How about...

Bring it On

.44 Magdalene - August 7, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Nay. I think alot of people would get irritated by their own characters.

Godzilla

Lilix Morgan - August 7, 2008 12:24 PM (GMT)
yay and nay. how many people are gonna wanna keep trying to find the same giant lizard all day? lol.

erm...let's try...

the chronicles of narnia?

Tik - August 7, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Yay. But of course there would be the main set of people and everyone else. Depending on whether you played a Narnia-ite or an actual person, you may not have the chance to interact with everyone...

Shaun of the Dead

Mandalyn - August 9, 2008 02:37 PM (GMT)
Yay and Nay, I like that movie and it'd b fun to rp fighting the zombies, but that'd be it and after a while may get a bit boring.

National Treasure

Famous For Nothing - August 11, 2008 12:52 PM (GMT)
Yay. I think introducing characters to that serise would be quite ineresting, and then putting your own subplots into it,deffy yay.

The Evil Dead movies?

Tik - August 13, 2008 06:16 PM (GMT)
Yay for a short termed rp. But anything longer would get quite dull and monotonous.

Nightwatch/Daywatch

Jay Serge - August 13, 2008 06:20 PM (GMT)
Yay, could work pretty well :D

Kung Fu Hustle lol

666 - August 13, 2008 07:11 PM (GMT)
Never seen it (nor do I want to from the sound of the name O_o). So, nay.

Hm...

Dick Tracy (the 1990 version with Warren Beatty).

Tik - August 25, 2008 05:00 PM (GMT)
I say yay. I think that could work out well if properly admined.

Tropic Thunder because I just went and saw it in theaters.

SunnyPie - August 25, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Nay

Hancock

Greymalkin - August 25, 2008 05:52 PM (GMT)
Nay. Too centered around a single character.

---

The Mummy movies.

SunnyPie - August 25, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
Yay!

Mean Girls

truthfullies - August 25, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
Yay and nay. Using the same characters would get boring after a while, but starting fresh with the premise could be cool

Smokin' Aces

Tik - August 27, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
Nay. Doesn't everyone end up dead in the end? xD

Dances with Wolves...bringin out the oldies.

Revan Yakuza - August 27, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
Nay Just can't see that working out to be perfectly honest.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

rosellegreywood - August 28, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
Nay. Too many Johnny Depp fangirls...

Rocky Horror Picture Show

SunnyPie - August 28, 2008 07:56 PM (GMT)
Yay! sounds fun!

Men In Black / MIB

antisocialist87 - August 29, 2008 05:38 AM (GMT)
Yay. Interesting Premise.

--

Reservoir Dogs

Metallicar - August 29, 2008 07:49 AM (GMT)
Yay. As long as there's an alternate ending.
