Title: D&d
Description: Anyone play

Lazreth - June 19, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
That's right boys and girls, I play the D&D, what a geek I am right, well sort of; my girlfriend is our DM We get together once a week and gave about a 7 hour game.

Now what I was wondering....Who else plays, and if you do, What race and class is your character, and on average how long are your games.

The Dabnor - June 19, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
I did a good long while ago, but it was never my favourite table top system.

I believe that the last D&D character I had was a Tiefling Rogue. As for game length, do you mean individual gaming sessions or campaigns?

Our campaigns lasted a while. Our gaming sessions tended to be from 7-ish until anywhere from half 9 to midnight, depending on everyone's circumstances. Then playing a game of Games Workshop's Talisman (original old, old version) was fairly common.

I play D&D every once in awhile, but most of my friends end up choosing Paranoia instead. Paranoia is a riot if you've never played it.

Oh! I did, once many years ago. I'd do it again, with the right group of people.

Our sessions were several hours long, usually from lunch to dinner, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, but I can't really remember -how- long they were.

My longest played, and favorite D&D character was a half-elf ranger with very little intelligence who was always doing very stupid things. It was soooo fun (I mean, come on! Attacking the town prison to get the thief out is always awesome). Plus, I was the only girl (for a while), the only female character, and I did all the killing.

Until the DM accidentally killed me with an evil ranger npc guy. *tear* He felt bad.

I have always wanted to play, but was never able to get a group together...not even in college where there were supposed to be underground nerd groups everywhere. I did manage to get my D&D fix through its MMORPG version, DDO (D&D Online) I managed to get into an awesome guild and it was AMAZING.

My favorite characters (because I had two amazing ones) was 1.) An elven thief named Ydari She was my main, and she could find any door, trap, and could unlock and disable anything in the game. IE she was disabling 8th and ninth level traps at the tender age of fourth and fifth level...don't even get me started on the dragon raids... *squee*
and 2.) a human cleric named Phoenyx...(yes she was named and modeled after Jean Grey from the X-Men...I'm probably the nerdiest of the nerds) She was strictly a healing DVing cleric...meaning that at level ten, she could damn near refil a level 8 mages mana. And she was strong enough to be able to actually work with Warforged...

God I miss that game...I had to stop playing because I couldn't afford it anymore. *tear*

My friends and I play Dnd. I only started a few months ago with them and have only attended a handful of the sessions, but I enjoy it nonetheless. Because most of us are in school, our sessions only run, on average, five or six hours. My character at the present is a human fighter =)

Alandree - June 22, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
I've never played a proper tabletop game, but I love CRPG D&D stuff. I have such a lovely handful of characters...I used to only play halflings, but now I make mostly humans. Always female in single player games, sometimes male in multi player. My favourite class is Sorcerer, but I like Rogues too.

My uncle tried to teach me PnP, but I haven't had a chance to play with others in RL. I'm currently reading Confessions of a Part-Time Sorceress though, which details D&D from a 'girly' perspective. It's quite wonderful.

I actually met my husband in a game of D&D. I'm second generation in my family. 4th Edition recently came out and I LOVE it!

Alandree - June 28, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Really? That's amazing! Haha! I haven't seen the fourth edition stuff yet, I'm excited now!

Kesra - June 28, 2008 05:47 AM (GMT)
They really made the system easier to deal with. It's not as dependant on checks or spending skill points to make your character more interesting.

Kental-Akari - July 2, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
I love D&D! I play version 3.0, but my group will switch to 4.0 after we finish our current storyline. (The DM gives us one grand mission, but we must complete individual campaigns to near our goal, both to gain allies and sometimes just to gain levels so we stand half a chance of surviving.)

My current character is a half-bronze dragon/human fighter. Her fighter level is 8 while she has 5 levels in half-dragoness. (Her dragon levels are a blend of several sets of 2.0 rules and some custom levels created by the DM, since I created her before a standard set of 3.0 rules came out.)

My only other character that recieved a decent amount of gameplay was a human ranger I created about 15 minutes before the group met. I don't remember what level she made it to, as she was retired when my uncle and younger sister joined the group. I've also had a half-elf druid and a half-elf cleric, but they were in groups that only met once or twice, so they don't really count.

Eventually I want to play a 4.0 tiefling, just because they sound like a lot of fun.

Kesra - July 2, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
They ARE alot of fun. I played a Tiefling Paladin of the Raven Queen. It was great ^^

Lazreth - July 3, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
My group plays 3.5, I don't know if we plan to go over to 4 though, we all have gotten used to 3.5 and I don't think my group wants to have to learn it again.

I don't know if i said or not but I play a Dwarf Pyrokenetisist, it's a strange class but I'm getting the hang of it...I have been playing for over a year now.

Lady Hikari - July 3, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
My friend is gathering a bunch of people for a fourth edition game we're gonna do online. I've got a new and improved Elf Ranger. The rules are much better and I find that I enjoy the new edition.

ombrel - July 14, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
My spouse and I play; he's the geek-orama in this area but we have been only playing the fourth edition and some of 3/3.5. Have myself a Rogue Teifling which has become the ultimate destroyer :p

Cant say much of how it differs in gameplay for I have only played D&D for not to long and read it for like ever; but from what the signifcant other says; it makes combat in the beginning much more entertaining then repetative.
