Title: What's Wiith The Name?

Requiem - June 18, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
Dear Idiot with the most rediculous name possible,

I understand that you want a 'foreign name'. I get that my board is a fantasy board [I created it. I hope I know that]. Yes, as a writer, you can name a character what ever you please. No, there is nothing stopping a parent from naming their child the most ridiculous, mentally scaring name they can think of [save the Australia government, apparently].

BUT!

When you join a site when all the other names are fairly ordinary, like Anna, and Randall, and I told you we're largely 'European Based' when you spent several hours of my time over the past few days drilling me on all the information that I'd so nicely TYPED UP for everyone to read and re-read and re-re-rerefere to over and over again, you may NOT have a character who's name has not only an umlaut, but a Z and not one, but TWO X's.

Yes, a foreign name. A foreign name sounds familiar SOMEWHERE! You're name would be foreign to anyone. Except aliens from planet Wtyspte. Maybe.

Yes, it's a fantasy game. Yes, we have mermaid [not mermaids, by the way] and witches. Guess what? It's MY fantasy game. The country you want this character with the ridiculous name to be from? I said to think like it was some sort of mix of French and Swiss. Yes, those are just basic ideas, but come on, man! Did you read any of the information I gave you? Any of it? Or did you just find it pointless, and thought it would be much better to string me along by posing every little tiny detail of a question to me like I'm a suspect in a murder trial!

I asked you nicely to change it slightly. Exchange the X's for S's. Not that far off. But you refuse! WHY? WHy must you do this to me?

[headdesk and a good bawling]
