Title: It's A Great Idea, But It Doesn't Work

Don't you hate it when you get an idea that you really love, but all your logical senses tell you it will go over like a lead balloon?

I mean, yeah, it sucks big time when you get any kind of idea like that, but for me, that idea is a roleplay board. It's a Star Trek based idea, but the Star Trek roleplaying community at large has vastly different expectations, visions, and preferences to my own. Not that their usual one ship, one giant RP thread, mission based style is bad, but I've tried it and it's too restricting for me. I've got this feeling that I'm the odd person out, and that my vision (which I've had in one form or another for nearly a year) is probably unachievable. Meh.

So, that's my short and mopey rant.

Alter it so it's not immediately recognizable as Star Trek, and advertise it as a futuristic space exploration rpg or whatever. Fans might notice the references, but people like me (who have seen very, very little of ST) might not.
