I thought it would be nice to compile a list for the ZB admins about what features we, as RPG admins and staff members, would like to see with the next upgrades of ZB (yes that is possible). As a large forum, with a large member base maybe we can actually get some of these suggestions through. And make it easier for RPG admins and members to use Zetaboards.

Main suggestions for improvements on managing a forum are helpful here, these include moderation on the forum itself/moderating features, and the admin cp.

Another part would be the user interface and user friendlyness of ZB. These suggestions would be more forum related as to day to day use.

All suggestions will be listed here ^_^. So the more suggestions, the better. Stay realistic though ;), I might not list all suggestions if they are just thick headed. Also please no general ZB chat here or saying that you don't like ZB, that's not what this thread is for.

If I think enough suggestions have come in (and really, if you motion a suggestion of another member, go ahead and tell so), I will post the list on the ZB support forum.

Okay so I found the thread they started a while ago on the ZB Support Forum: Features you would like to see again.

• Ability to delete individual PM's - I really don't like to ZB system for PM's. I have my audition system set up so that the members PM them to me and I save the first posts in different folders within my Member Account. With this new system, I can't delete the unneccessary PM's.
  
• Pre-Registration - When you have as many characters as I do that need pre-registration, it's insane to actually have to turn the board online and then go through the entire registration process for a character or NPC that either I or one of my staff will be playing.
  
• Email Notification - I use it on all Announcement forums for sites that I'm a member of, and for my own sites I have everything set to Email notification (IF, of course). It tells me to look somewhere I may have forgotten about for one reason or another.
  
• Delete Post/Thread Confirmation - My eyes don't always like to work for me and sometimes I click on the wrong post or thread to delete or my mouse will decide to click on the wrong thing and so on and so forth. This acts as a means of prevention in such cases.
  
• Multi-Quote Option - From what I'm gathering, this feature sounds like it would be insanely awesome. Sorry, couldn't think of any other way to say it. :lol: But ya. Why? Because take this post for instance. If I were trying to quote things, I'd probably screw up the coding at least three times for the sheer amount of pages there are as I'm posting this (12 at my current count).
  
• Members unable to block staff PM's - I didn't even know that was a feature, to be honest. But I don't think that any member should be able to block a staff member. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a staff member. It's like a citizen being able to ignore a police officer.
  
• Blog Moderation - Definitely. The owner of the board is liable for anything on their site, correct? Which means they are responsible for anything said in chat boxes/rooms/blogs etc. Therefore they should be able to edit all content, just like the forum itself. Also, maybe members should be able to edit their own entries?
  
• Member Referal - I love that idea. I could really use that as an advantage on my site. I foresee many rewards for members who do this.
  
• Change Member Password - Definitely. I use this a lot when a member has abandoned their character and I or a staff has to take it over. Members don't provide us with their passwords (For obvious reasons) so it would cause a simple death for the character and possibly (Probably) disruption in the plot.
  
• Stackable Rank Images - Awesome idea. I would most definitely use this feature because I have so many different categories for staff and members and combined but no way to show it wihtout having a million different user groups and pips. This would simplify things drastically.
  
• doHTML - While I am able to use both, I prefer HTML because it's like my first language. I use it before I use my second language. But I can use them both simultaniously if neccessary.
  
• New Poll System - I rarely use the poll option, and actually disable it on most of my forums since they are RP based. They cluttered things up too much.
  
• CSS Redirect back to CSS - Definitely. The new way is time consuming. And maybe add that whatever spot you edited in the CSS returns after the edit button has been clicked? If that made sense ...
  
• Mark all posts as read - I really really really miss this feature. In order for me to mark threads/posts read, I need to enter each one individually which takes up a lot of time. And then, what I want to see is cluttered by threads that I don't want to see. Like, with the 'new posts' marker thingie. I use this feature often. I really really really want to see it come back.
  
• Coding Location in Edit/Preview Window - Something I just noticed. I'm in the Preview window. And the code buttons are all located at the top of my preview, which is rather long, so I need to scroll up and down to use the clickable codes feature. Which is currently really annoying because my mouse is being a b!tch. I don't know yet if it does this in the edit window ...

Okay, so I don't know if any of those have changed or not, but that's what I said. If you want me to clear anything or or something, just let me know. :)

Oh, I just thought of another - Don't automatically approve Admin threads/replies in forums that have threads/replies moderated (hidden) automatically

The ability to switch characters. This was on a phpbb RPG I was on a long time ago, and it rocked.
