Title: Little Things That Make You Happy

roleplay - June 9, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Just the little things that can make your day, on or off the internet. I'll begin with a few:

Worthwhile threads make me happy. Also, comments on myspace.

sunny - June 10, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Waking up to find that it's summer, my threads are replied to, we don't have to do anything the whole day and that my little new kitten is lying on top of me. All those little things. ^_^ And when kitties sneeze.

Nda - June 10, 2008 03:29 AM (GMT)
on-line:
    - having wifi access. ^-^
    - finding my threads replied to.
    - talking to people I haven't heard from in a while.
off-line:
    - not hitting traffic.
    - watching lightning make spiderwebs across the sky. ^-^
    - watching a classic movie, like Pulp Fiction or Clockwork Orange. <33
    - finishing a Stephen King novel.

Things that make me happy... Hmmm...
  • Spending time with certain friends
  • A small compliment either at work or at home
  • Gifts on a whim, even if it's just a chocolate bar that they got on sale
  • Writing
  • Talking to people who I have formed some sort of worthwhile connection with

In all honesty, small things make me happy. That first one... spending time with certain friends... Definitely. We don't have to be doing anything and it makes me so happy. I'm easy to please.

Doing my first and only exam for the semester, and knowing I have nothing more to do until school goes back in... well, ages!

December, Esq - June 10, 2008 05:22 PM (GMT)
Not falling down the stairs (quite an accomplishment!),
Listening to my music,

ummm

Hearing a good joke,
Getting inspiration for my story,
Receiving a comment on MySpace,
Talking to friends.

-Writing epiphanies. Like realizing that the main character in a story I've been struggling to write for over five years is a villain, not a hero.

-Sickeningly peppy girl pop bands. They give me energy I do not naturally possess.

-Having a word doc of praise for my forum that is four pages long after two months.

-New cousins! Twin cousins, a two-for-one!

-Celtic reels.

-Watching little kids get out of school for the summer

-Getting chocolate covered strawberries from the teachers. It makes scrubbing their toilets completely worth it.

-Looking back over the dozens of notebooks my friends and I filled during high school.

-Counting alligator nose in Huntington Beach, SC.

-Giggling about inside jokes that no one here will understand.
  • And it was...udder destruction.
  • Word Bag of Death! HUH!
  • Legality is so overrated.
  • A-digga...A-digga digga.
  • You're supposed to be in line with the others!
  • Aslan, Mirny, Justin, and Westin.
  • In the incest way possible.
  • Guava Nancers

I believe on certain days after I wake up, knowing that I have no plans make me smile.

Ariana - June 12, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
Realizing it's the first full day of summer, when yesterday felt like a week (it was so fun xDD)
Finally having time to roleplay again, since I'm not in high-stress mental case raising-grades mode!

Panda - June 12, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
- Opening a bottle of milk! The ones with the foil tops from the Milk Man, of course. You have to stick your thumb in the middle so the sides pop up. It annoys me when someone gets there first and shreds the lid--or worse! The plonker who jabs a hole in the top!

- Meeting someone new and managing to have a GOOD conversation with them--not just a few words.

- Buying Marmite.

- Baking. Very therapeutic.

Zippy - June 13, 2008 05:21 PM (GMT)
• Friday nights at 8:00

• Gummy turtles

• Swimming in the lake

• Fresh produce in the summer

• Fireflies

• My big fat cat sitting on my lap while I'm RPing

• Resident Evil 4

RomanHk - June 13, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
The fact that Dec named a thread "smoking the poll" [/dirty mind]

Eiger - June 13, 2008 10:08 PM (GMT)
• Going to the live performances of David Sedaris. Just got "When You Are Engulfed In Flames" the day after it came out.
• Watching movies and mercilessly mocking them throughout with others. Out of the theatre, of course.
• Film noir and counting how many drinks Humphry Bogart has during each film.
• Bonfires.
• Musicals and operas. The less wishy washy ones, made during and after the 80s. Several come to mind: Evita, Les Mis, JCS, Sweeney Todd, Little Shop of Horrors, and Rent. Then there's several rock operas. *cough* The Wall and anything done by Ayreon *cough*.
• Guinea pigs. Not for dinner.
• That icon for "Today's Birthdays." I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that. =P

Sunday - June 14, 2008 06:20 PM (GMT)
- Laughing so hard your ribs hurt and you can't breathe.
- Chocolate shakes.
- Skipping class and going to the park! LOL :]
- Staying up all night talking about nothing... or everything.
- Having a really good, intelligent conversation with someone.
- Crushing on a cute boy, lol <3

EDITS:
- When nice strangers make conversation with you. So cute!
- Elderly people that joke around with you. Aww.
- Women who ask for your opinion in the dressing room.
- Waking up and knowing school's out for the summer~!

Jalynn - June 16, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
Someone saying Thank you when I hold the door for them, like wise someone saying Your Welcome when I say Thank you.

Having someone say Hello and smile, when I say it to them.. ( corny yes, but it makes my day.)

Not having to explain things over and over to people older then I am because they don't understand the simplicity of juvenile stuff.

People actually reading the posts before them and comprehending it all, or taking the time to ask me if they didn't understand.

My Friends both online and in real life. what is better then having some of the greatest friends in the world.

Waking up and knowing that I have been given another day to try and make a difference in somebody's life even if it is just a joke that in fifty years they will look back on and laugh or smile { maybe even both =) }

Stygium - June 16, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
Lounging around in the front room, doing absolutely nothing, when suddenly a pug pounces on you and claims you as a bed. That, my friends, is happiness.

People who, under no obligation, just look at you and say, 'Have a nice day'. It's practically guaranteed you will.

mistresswench - June 16, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
When strangers are nice! I work in a supermarket and it's always lovely when the customer replies to your greetings and then you a have a little conversation. It's awesome and restores my faith in humankind.

Random acts of kindness. Once it was pouring down with rain and a guy let me under his umbrella at the traffic lights. It made my day :D

Chocolate!
