Title: Call For Happy Times!

Gothic - May 30, 2008 04:21 AM (GMT)
I have a friend who thinks the only time to sms or call is to complain about how her life sucks. This same friend also ignored all my calls when my grandmother was dying. Well dearie, you can go fuck yourself.

I am sick of only hearing from you when you want to complain about your "so hard" life. Yes you have had a tough time, but grow the fuck up. You dragged everyone down during school and I am sick of it. The world doesn't revolve around you.

She calls out of the blue to complain, NEVER to go out, just chat, ask about how my life is going. That via SMS.

The conversation went something along these lines.
G= me
F= friend

G- -hears ring, sees its F and answers happily- Hello! :D How are you?
F- Meh, my life sucks.
G- ................. What's happened?
F: Nothing it just sucks
G- Oh..... umm how is your job going?
F: I quit
G: I see.... why's that?
F: It sucks
G: So what are you doing now?
F: Nothing.
G: ......... Okay, you stil on your medication?
F: meh
G: -irritated sigh- Friend, you're not helping this along very well.
F: meh, my life sucks
G: Look, I know what it's like to be depressed and upset and everything else. But I can't do much unless you help the conversation along.
F: I can't help it that my life sucks and you have a perfect life.
G: I know you can't help the bad things bu- .......... a perfect life?!
F: Yeah your life as been perfect and easy.
G: Friend, I have been through quite a bit. Shitloads of people have been through worse, that's true. But don't.you.fucking.dare.tell.me.that.it.has.been.easy.
F: meh your problems aren't that big anyway.
G: .................. Go fuck yourself. -hangs up-

That conversation happened a little while ago. I know my school "friends" are going to hear about how I'm a cruel hearted bitch and she is such a victim. She can literally go fuck herself.

I have internet friends who I hold with higher regard than her. Sure I have helped several of them on the phone and online, whether it's just listening and trying to cheer them up. I don't mind, because these girls and guys give and take. Hell I view some of them as family, because they have been there through so much.

-finish rant

Ugh. I hate "friends" like that. Drives me bloody insane. I mean, I myself may call to blow of some steam, but that's not the only reason I'll ever call someone, and I'm always willing to reciprocate and be the listener in a venting session.

I had friend slightly similar. She'd call for more than just whining sessions, but she didn't want to hear me whine back. It was frustrating. Or there are those people that have to top you. "Oh well, that's not as bad as what happened to me..." Save me from victims and martyrs. And people who expect you to be happy all the time just to please them.

But, I think for you it was more than time to give her the "F-off slag" talk. To me that's not a friend, that's a freaking vampire. Suck you dry of time and sympathy and giving nothing back. Not to mention that it doesn't sound like she's doing anything to help herself, and when you're in a situation and a mental place like that, no one can save you but you. I have no compassion, sympathy, pity or empathy for people who won't help themselves.

Booooo on her. And good for you.

Yuck! Sounds like she needed a reality check. While I do have a tendancy to rant, I will listen to other people if they need it because I know perfectly well that my life is pretty good and there are lots of people with worse lives. Blehhh. I don't expect other people to feel the same way, but they should at least have respect for your own troubles and hardships which are unique to you. Sheesh.

People.
