Title: Bad Position.
Description: What f**king gives?

Adminning has had its ups and downs, though now, I am officially in a bind.

Character, why must you suck ass so hard? You ruined someone else's SL. Because all your characters have hero complexes, must always be the fucking victor and the good guy, and that damn idealistic nonsense must ALWAYS apply, you have now gotten to the point where you've gotten entire innocents slaughtered, attacked and nearly killed a princess, and screwed up an entire army.

We are playing a war SL, dude. Not some farking fairytale joke. And when you get told that your character just monumentally screwed up, you become a drama king about it and talk about how "It's no longer fun for me," and "WAA I WANT TO LEAVE THE BOARD.

Seriously. Butthurt with a side of BAWWWW.

And then you STALL in posting, putting several of our players in a POST LOCK where no one can get anywhere until you get back. It has been 12 or so days now. You signed on today, but posted...nothing.

Honestly, the person in charge of the SL wants to execute your character. And I, quite frankly, am for it. They're also an admin. However, for us to execute your character without your permission puts us in bad form.

I hate it when moronic players have their moronic characters screw up a solid SL. An SL that took MONTHS to get to this point.

SL? I don't know what that means.

And I know how frustrating people can be if they don't get their way. I say just move on and leave them behind. Twelve days is absolutely ridiculous.

I think SL means Storyline...I think.

As for what to do...well I guess I'm a rather harsh admin when it comes to members who come on and do nothing, but kill the character. It's a war, the idiot obviously isn't acting like it is, so do what they would do in a real war; bye bye. If s/he complains, just tell them you granted their wish.

Twelve days? May I suggest a series of guillotines, carefully positioned to julienne the offender's body?

SL means storyline, yes. A term more commonly used with AOL and possibly other chat-based roleplaying groups. -sounds smart.-

And, somebody went around killing a bunch of people? Okay, it's a war, but .. isn't that kind of godmoding if there's no consent on the other side?

-hug.-

"Smart" and "AOL" do not belong in the same sentence.

...harsh?

I've never done AOL or chat-based roleplays, but preferring one method of RPG over another isn't a measure of intelligence. I hope I misunderstood you somehow =[

Don't worry, Sarahj, Munch likes to pretend to be as cool as I am by making sententious statements about nothing in particular. ;) Silly Munch. Save your bile for something that deserves it, like the government. I mean, what?

I've never done AOL-based RPing, either, but I have RPed via IM, and I quite enjoy it.

AOL RPGs have a bad stereotype for a reason. They're usually less than great, and have gone from fun to fairly awful over the years. That said, usually does not mean always, and some of the best RPers I've ever met came out of AOL. You can never judge completely when it comes to large groups.

I don't know if it's right to just hack someone's character up *ducks tomatoes that will be thrown by other commentors* But I would PM the offender and say, "Due to the current situation that you have left other characters in at this thread, I will be playing your character temporarily." Get on an npc account (if you have one or any account would work really) and post something like "'Hero' needed to get out of here. He needed time to think.. Blah, blah, and... EXIT THREAD."

If they want to bring him back in later, fantastic. If they freak out, let them delete their account and walk away.

But, I would much rather have someone godmode my character (without ruining them or playing them badly) then to have someone just destroy them. Anyway, just a suggestion. I hope it works out, Antisocialist.

Flying bits of rock which induce coma's are always handy....Ask any soap opera who had a star that wanted a major raise....
