Title: Slash Rpg Section
Meredith - May 24, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
I think that the slash RPG genre has gotten big enough that it deserves its own sub-forum under Human RPGs. I personally would love to be able to skim through slashes and not have to request one or troll through all the real-life RPGs to find them.
Just a suggestion. :yellow:

Ooh! I agree a million percent.
Slash = <3

I second that motion! It's a perfect idea!

I don't really see the point. Most, if not all, of the boards I've encountered have allowed and even encouraged homosexual relationships. Is there some anti-slash bias I've been missing?

I would have to go yes and no. Yes, if the rpg itself is mainly contains homosexuality from both males and females alike. No, because most rpg's now accept homosexual characters when submitted. It just really depends on what type of rp board it is. I'm leaning to both negative and positive answers, but I wouldn't complain if you did make a sub section in Human RPG's section.

I think there could be a section for slash specific boards. Mind you, I have only ever seen a couple of them around.
But most games accept homosexual couples now though. -shrugs-
But maybe for games that are just for slash, then a board section may be a good ideal.
-my writing makes no sense- lol

Hmm, I donīt really see the need to create a specific section for Slash RPGs. Really the sections we have are generic sections to catagorize RPGs better. If you make a slash RPG catagory, you really go digging into the catagorizing RPGs advertised here on RPG-D. Doesn't make sense to me.
Lemme dig further into it and let me explain it by a few examples. Putting it specifically under Human RPGs doesn't make sense either, maybe there is a fantasy RPG that allows homosexual/bi characters, or a Lost based RPG? That can't be catagorized in the Human RPG section. Putting the slash RPG forum into the crossover forums doesn't make sense either, because that's more for RPGs based on things, or other RPGs that can't really be sorted under the other specific catagories. (and then you have the problem again of fantasy/human/harry potter RPGs sorted into the based-on/cross over section).
You can already see that if we make this catagory, the first discussion for us would already be where to place it. Because, the topic of the slash RPG is too specific. If you look carefully the only very specific forums we have are Non-Forum RPGs (which isn't very specific either because it allows all kinds of non-forum RPGs), and the Multi-genre RPGs catagory.
If we start like that, we can go adding more forums like, town RPGs, City RPGs, post-apocalyptic RPGs, just because we see a few forums popping up in those themes. Or maybe adding a specific X-men catagory, just because there are so many x-men RPGs. The slash RPG is more of a theme, not a catagory to add to an advertising directory, just like those themes I mentioned above..
I hope this has made it clear we can't start adding specific catagories/themes to the directory. Generic catagories, sure, but I think so far we covered everything. It's nothing against the theme 'Slash' XD, because I have nothing agaist it. Just explaining why we can't start adding specific themes as catagories to the directory.

Okay. Well, thanks for considering it. :)
