Title: [S] About Sidebar

I may have missed this in another post, my eyes got tired about page seven so it is possible that I missed it in the original sidebar thread. In case I didn't I'm having a problem getting the sidebar to line up on the side with the board header. The image and the sidebar overlap, and even when I shift the image over it still doesn't pop up into place.

The skin I'm using has a traditional board header and all the other coding is working very well, I sort of know a little about it, but not enough obviously as it won't go up. If you need to know the coding I can paste it in a reply, but for now the link to the site is in my signature, the little alice surrounded by cards, but the site isn't officially open yet so don't expect too much.

Have you tried putting the sidebar code underneath the <% BOARD HEADER %> tag?

EDIT: Har, totally misconstrued that, sorry! Putting it above the header tag might work. If not, there're some threads on this in IFSkinzone that I'll try and dig out for you =)

It is above it, like it said in the original directions, but it still wound up all funny looking. I also tried shifting the picture to teh other side but it didn't work. (thanks btw)

(Np! I have a skin problem on IFSkinzone that's been waiting four days for someone to look into it x_X)

I might be way off here, but is the banner in your board wrappers or the logo portion of your images? It seems the sidebar lines up with the ads and stuff the way it should if it were flush with the banner (my own sidebar is beneath the banner and the ads) but the banner sorta perches on top.

Edit: Roswenth mentioned "Note: some have reported success with certain skins in placing the sidebar right before the <% NAVIGATION %> tag." over here. Might help?

Edit #2: I did a little experimenting on my test board. I use a custom header (so it's in board wrappers) and it pushed the sidebar down. Copy it, erase it, and move it into the 'logo' area of the images and, fingers crossed, you should see it line up properly.

so take the header and make it the logo instead? I'll try that now.

EDIT : holy crap.... it made everything but the sidebar vanish when I did that, although it was up at teh top then...... it only went back after I erased the Logo... maybe just the image?

EDIT 2 : When I tried just putting th image there the sidebar did indeed jump up where I wanted it but the image wouldn't show.... XP today is just not my day.

I tried it and it moved the sidebar, but it still wouldn't show the logo.

*Headdesk* It works fine on my test board, so it might be an issue with your CSS codes? By the way, to get a little space between the sidebar and the board, paste:

If it's a logo problem now, it's most likely within your CSS. A lot of skinners have included the logo into the CSS now so it's more controllable- can you post your CSS codes so we can try and find the problem for you?

It did have a logo, but I inserted my own, and then shiny lady sent me a different version without the 'logo' thing she was mentioning to me in pm, this is what she sent.
