Title: Typos You Always Make
RENTal lot - April 15, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
I always use "an" instead of "a" when I write "a RPG". Weird right? I don't know why, honestly. Otherwise, I always spell "weaponary" instead of "weaponry"
Is there any typo you keep making over and over again? If so, share!
December, Esq - April 15, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
"Equiptment." It just sounds like there should be a "t" there.
I always say "an RPG" on purpose. Because the sound "R" is like "ar" which begins with a vowel sound. So yeah. . . .
I also use "admin" as a plural noun a lot, too, so that's not a mistake in case anyone was wondering. :pink:
I just finally learned how to spell "exercise."
Rhoni - April 15, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
OMG for me it's "understand." I always write "understnad" -_- Every single time. Miswrote it while writing the correct one just now.
xkapow - April 16, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
I have a tendancy to do typos on my name. Sometimes i'll put kystal or krystla or something.
I have a weird keyboard though. It's like jelly-ish.
pathogenicoma - April 16, 2008 04:22 AM (GMT)
Pressure. I swear, it should be preasure. Like measure.
Exercise is another pain in the arse. Exsercise. Or something similar is what I usually come up with.
For the longest time, I was using taunt instead of taut. I felt like a total idiot when I figured it out. Why did no one tell me!?
OH! And today, it's peopel, not people, just so you know. -___-
RomanHk - April 16, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
Surprise. I always type surprize.
Lady Hikari - April 16, 2008 05:57 AM (GMT)
I always misspell your or you're or any other stupid thing like that.
And I've got a horrible problem with misspelling disgusting. It sounds like discusting. Srsly.
Emma - April 16, 2008 09:43 AM (GMT)
I think it is meant to be 'an RPG', RENTal lot. I've always thought that you treat acronyms like vowels. Maybe I'm just weird.
I have a problem with people saying 'an history'. It's not freaking 'an'! But apparently, it is -shrugs-
As for my typos - always 'shrug'. I write 'shurg'. When I'm texting (I use predictive) I always end up with lloy instead of know.
I had more but I lost them. There is one that I always spell incorrectly, but i can't remember what it is.
RENTal lot - April 16, 2008 09:48 AM (GMT)
*shrug*, well, I usually decide on an or a based on the first letter of the acronym, but now that I think about it it makes sense using an. Maybe it really wasn't a typo.
I just thought of another one, not really a typo but I always write 'ello instead of hello. It makes it really difficult to write formal kinds of characters because I always have to change it. It seems like "hello" would be the easier one to write though...
madgal - April 16, 2008 11:19 AM (GMT)
strategy.
I can't spell it in exams which is crap when your doing Business Studies!
absent eschaton - April 16, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
Apart from spelling mistakes (never can spell definitely the right way first time around) one thing that's popped up with a new character on the site is that I always type SAdie. I don't know why the a gets a capital, but it does.
Rhi-Rhi - April 16, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
I have a tendency to type "sex" instead of "sec", as in "be back in a sec!" Yeah. xP
Since my brain works faster than my fingers, I sometimes type words in the wrong order, or leave out a word completely. Sometimes I substitute words. >_> Hmm...an example of typing words in the order wrong would be that. <--
I'm not dyslexic, but sometimes my mind works that way. xD Like I typed "brave wain" once instead of "brain wave". And just there as I was typing that sentence, my mind got ahead of me and I typed "like I typed 'brave wain' once 'brave wain'" So see? See?! That there would be an example of me skipping words completely!
But words I always fail on are words like "perceive" and "receive". I always type "percieve" or "recieve". And any word ending in -ant or -ent throws me. @_@ I get confused as to which ending to use! For instance, "permanent" and "permanant". Augh! I can never remember if it's -ent or -ant. *flails*
pathogenicoma - April 16, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
I have a hard time with "descision" - decision. I don't know why, but I just can't spell it.
I also leave words out sometimes when I'm typing like crazy! Oooh man, and when I'm hyper, watch out. I screw everything up.
Haha, when I was in grade school, we had this big spell test for the whole school, and I couldn't figure out how to spell "of". I think I might have put "ov". >< I remembered after the test though! w00t. ... I didn't read as a child.
vheissu - April 16, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)
For the life of me, I cannot spell "Recieve" <--- it's incorrect btw or "piece."
The bloody IE and EI stuff just confuses me.
punjabberwocky - April 16, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
I have a character named Chris and I swear... every time I type his name, I mistype "Christ". In fact, I did it in that last sentence! *facepalm*
There are a couple of other words that I can never manage to spell. I used to have problems with "definitely" too, but I've pretty much got that one under control now. I always type "cannon" instead of "canon", though... and then Disdainful Soul makes fun of me. *tear*
Panda - April 16, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
I am a dangerous typist in the duck duck goose game.
the 'f' is much too close to the 'd'.
teh
kik ( 'lol')
sollution
stohrmee - April 17, 2008 02:07 PM (GMT)
teh. It's always teh. I type too fast. XD
Lici - April 17, 2008 02:11 PM (GMT)
I once made the priceless error of writing "lo0ol" instead of "lol" and my friend never let me live it down. But nowadays it's the more common mistake of adding an extra "e" on the end of words, "he" instead of "the" or "s" instead of "a".
-.-'
Snap on the too-fast typing, though! XD
Deputy Dingo - April 17, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
'Teh' is big for me too.
And kik instead of lo. Also a lol of ;p; for the same thing
Sunday - April 17, 2008 08:06 PM (GMT)
I misspell disappoint and its variations quite often. Then when I right click to correct it using Mozilla Firefox, I usually end up accidentally adding it to the dictionary... so then I have to go in and correct it. Blah, so annoying. : /
I can never figure out how to spell eighth without some serious thinking... my fingers get so confused! Oh, and Wordsworth... I had to write a report on him for English; god, that sucked. LOL. For some reason I kept wanting to spell Wordworth.
morosely - April 18, 2008 12:32 AM (GMT)
I always mess up with homonyms? Homophones? Either way whenever I go to write 'write' I, more often then not, write 'right'. You know, simple stuff like that.
Ariana - April 18, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
'Teh' always gets me.
Another issue I have is the fact that my apostrophe key and enter key are too close together so I end up sending messages on aim like
Ariana: I don
Ariana:'t think that
Ariana:'s a good idea
It makes me die ><
Oh, and I always replace my question marks with >
...
Isn
't that annoying>
^Heh, alright that one was on purpose.
Kryptic - April 19, 2008 08:22 AM (GMT)
Well, I ain't got rythmn. I just wrote an essay on Circadian Rhythms, and I couldn't believe how many times I got it wrong. Like, had to change EVERY time. For a musician, It's kind of pathetic.
Lessee, what else... I always end up correcting myself midway through a typo, so I don't remember a lot... but these ones crop up a lot. But I tend to get better over time, I guess.
- Psyche, Psychic, Psychiatrist, Psychologist all seem to get an extra 'h'. Pshyco, isn't it?
- And for the longest time I couldn't spell "Character" right. It's embarrassing. I spell "Personality" wrong frequently too.
- Double "r" in words messes me up, too. Like embarassing, or sureal.
- In real life, I honestly have a vendetta against the word 'subtle'. Can't say it. Silent "b" is evil.
- Belive? Recive? Concive? Adam and 've? LOL. I do that a lot.
- Only when I made a character named Coyote did I finally figure out how to spell it. Cyote? You don't ever pronounce the first 'O'! (where I'm from)
Li Damu - April 19, 2008 04:05 PM (GMT)
All the 'psy' words get me too. A frequent typo is to put in ':' instead of an apostrophe, which results in stuff like: that;s etc. I get 'occasion' (ocassion) and 'alone' (along) wrong nearly every time too. Ocassionally I also use '0' instead of 'O'. HOwever, another mistake is <-- that one, often I capitalise the second letter as well as the first, though mostly it's only with certain letters, such as 'a'. Since one of my characters on a rp is called 'Maxie' I get it wrong almost invariably.
The most common one, though, is to simply mix up two letters, and I do that all of tmie. ;)
whisper[something]profound - April 21, 2008 07:48 AM (GMT)
I tend to miss out the 'o' key when I type to fast. Which led to the incredibly embarrassing incident when I was doing Nano.
I was demanding that a friend of mine count how many words she had typed while we were wordwarring.
So in huge letters I typed COUNT! and pressed the enter key.
...Only I had managed to miss the 'o'. I'm not gonna spell this one out for you all =P.
Ëmbrosius - April 22, 2008 07:46 AM (GMT)
Usually instead of and ill type "abd" or sometimes instead of "." ill put "," one time i was on a mass effect site and i left out the "M" in "Mass Effect".
SpazzyMal - April 22, 2008 08:24 AM (GMT)
I always start to spell sentence as "sentance". I don't know why, but it's freaking annoying, after all this time. And each other is always "eachother".
...edited a typo, because I misspelled each other. XD
Marvealle - April 23, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
"The" into "Teh" but usually when I type really fast.
"Disappear" into "Dissappear"
"Out" instead of "Our" or vise versa
And many others that I can't seem to think of at the moment.
AliceUnrequited - June 24, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
For some reason when I go to type 'you' when I'm going too fast it becomes 'toy.' It's a hard one to explain.
There is the usual there / they're / their which I'm sure makes me look slow most of the time when my head is somewhere else.
I've always typed 'today' and 'tomorrow' like 'to-day' and 'to-morrow.' No clue why, but apparently it bothers people.
than and then can often get switched up with me, but in general I make just about every typo concievable. It's not nice, however, when I go to type shirt and leave out the 'r.' People think you're just messing with them then.
Elenlond - June 24, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
'The' usually becomes 'teh'. I make a whole bunch more, or I'll hit the spacebar a letter too early and end up with the first letter of the next word as the last letter of the previous word... I know I have others, but I can't remember them right now x.x
sosoclever - June 25, 2008 06:26 PM (GMT)
'Aobut." I don't know why, but I have real trouble typing "about" some days.
Words I simply have trouble spelling include rhythm, conscious, camouflage and embarrass.
mistresswench - June 25, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
The - teh. It happens all the time.
Vanity - June 25, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
I often type things backwards. Not just short words, either. Five letters and over is a bit long for getting the entire word backwards, isn't it?
Sharpiefan - June 26, 2008 08:02 PM (GMT)
Very often I type 'or' not 'of' or the other way around. 'Lieutenant' frequently comes out 'liuetenant' or similar - in a military-based RPG, that gets embarrassing!
Oh, and I can't spell 'character'. It's nearly always 'chracter' first time round. And when I got to backspace, I hit =. A lot.
MissMudblood - June 26, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
I always spell things like tpae (which is tape..) wrong if I'm not paying attention. I mess up with a lot (alot) quite often, as well. I think that's it... o.O there's probably more, but... I dunno. x.x
sf1061 - June 27, 2008 07:38 AM (GMT)
I don't know any specific words that I typo a lot, but usually, I'll be typing too fast and I'll switch letters or words around or just leave them completely out. A lot of my typos have to do with the spacebar, too. I'll space too early or too late and have something like this: theb oy wen tto th estore. >.<
On my other keyboard I'd typo anything that involved I's or T's and leave out spaces because the keys were whacked and I had to like shove them down to make them work. I's wouldn't show up at all, or I'd hit the key and have a whole strand of iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, when I never held it down that long. I tried really hard to keep my RP posts as typo-free as possible, but on AIM I was too lazy to bother. Made for some amusing confusion. :p
Maloneis - June 30, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
I always spell believe like "belive." And I can not spell consciousness most of the time either. One time I was doing a power point presentation and I was putting it together. Every single time the word mortgage came up it was spelled wrong.
The Dabnor - June 30, 2008 09:29 AM (GMT)
I used to accidentally type 'rgar' instead of 'that', pretty often. And sometimes I used to get carried away typing 'Barbara' and add extra B's, A's and R's.
Sharpiefan - July 2, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
One I just thought of - I always end up typing 'enoguh' instead of enough and 'menat' instead of 'meant'.
PhoenixLily - July 2, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
well...the P jey on my laptop keyboard is broken...so if i'm not paying attention, anything with a P is in trouble. Also lately, I've had trouble with my ) so my smileys are usually something along the lines of : :)
EDIT: Then there are words like "key" which i spelled with a J up there... Oy...
